Now young "leftists" are protesting against the election of a leftist candidate. They refuse to accept the election of a leftist. They insist that the genocidal Wall Street candidate is legitimate and the antiwar antibank candidate is illegitimate.

Nothing new about this. November 1968. Nixon was elected on a promise to END the Vietnam War, which was the only issue that mattered then. Bankers hadn't yet started to destroy the country, so they weren't a problem. All of us hippieshits were ENRAGED when Nixon was elected. It was the END OF THE WORLD. Our gurus told us that he was a NASTY NAZI, so he was a NASTY NAZI.

Later on, most of us hippieshits realized that we had been weaponized by the Democrat Party. It wasn't hidden; our gurus were quite open about working for the D team regardless of ideology. We were still fooled because we were idiots.

The modern idiots are driven and instructed by Soros, who is the world's most extreme warmaker and the ultimate bankster. Again perfectly open if you look at his actions instead of his words. The protesters, working in harmony with the armies of US and EU, are manufacturing chaos to increase Soros's wealth.

Later on, Nixon turned out to be a serious and effective leftist. Directly or via Supreme Satan nominees, he introduced the 'negative income tax' (EIC) and environmentalism and affirmative action and abortion. All the standard sacraments of the modern Left, all Nixon's work. So we were even more idiotic than we could see at the time.

As always the media is doing its soul-search. Nearly all of it follows the standard rules. We failed because we didn't KILL ALL NORMAL HUMANS. Look, there's just no way to sugarcoat it: Everyone — and I mean everyone — in the political press and punditry expected Clinton to win. She did not win. That is a failure on our part to properly understand what the electorate was telling us. What it is not is evidence of some sort of inherent liberal bias.

Not liberal bias? Well, he's right, though not in the way he thinks he's right. Liberal and conservative have always been slippery words, but before the 1989 Switchover there was some consistency.

Before the Switchover, conservatives were military aggressors who favored financiers above all. That's Hillary. Before the Switchover, a moderate liberal was hesitant to use force and was ready to clamp down on the financial class. That's Trump.

The media smoothly moved with the Clintons when Bill took office in 1992. Starting new pointless wars in Yugoslavia, deleting Glass-Steagall, helping big corporations to ruin American industry. Conservative.

Google's daily animation today "honors" election day with a ballot that has exactly one box. The stick figure checks the one box.

Similar icon on TV weather graphics. They often use simple animations on special days, Just Like Google. A dancing skeleton for Halloween, a wiggly snowman for Xmas. Their icon for today shows a one-box ballot with a checkmark in the one box.

Well, at least they're honest. We've arrived at the old "Soviet" elections. We do it somewhat more cleverly than Stalin. We have more than one visible box for some choices, but only the correct box counts. If you vote for the heretic, your check is an Uncheck. If you vote for Brexit or another Incorrect referendum, your check is deleted by a "court".

BBC ran a little interview with two USA college kids, supposedly ready to cast their first vote. One was a serious leftist, the other a Repooflican.

The serious leftist put a little too much weight on his 15 seconds of fame, trying too hard to sound like a pundit. Still, his point was perfectly valid. He isn't planning to vote because Hillary cheated Bernie out of votes. No point in voting for a monster whose job is deleting votes.

The Repoof was a female who is writing in Romney. Couldn't tolerate Trump because sexist homophobe fascist racist transphobe you fill in the other 45,289 cusswords. Obviously a Repoof can't vote for Hillary because Hillary wears a D. So the best choice is Hillary wearing an R, which is Romney.

BBCsatan confronted the non-voting leftist, saying "People died to get you the vote." I turned the radio off at that point, so I don't know if the dude had a good answer. Probably not.

Why does anyone continue to say this instantly disprovable crap? First of all, we don't have the vote in Presidential elections. The electoral college has the vote. It was specifically designed to guarantee total corruption, and it has succeeded beyond the wildest sadistic dreams of the framers.

Second, only two of our many wars were "people dying" for ANY PURPOSE AT ALL. 1776 and 1941. All the other wars were just plain evil, symptoms of infinite psychotic lunacy.

1776 eliminated Parliament, which STILL works pretty well as a feedback mechanism, and replaced it with the crazy USA STRONG system where we DON'T vote for President and CAN'T fire a bad President. Those soldiers died to KILL the vote, not to "get you the vote".

1941 was a genuine defense of our territory against Jap invaders, but it wasn't about voting**. It was about raw basic survival of the nation.

Nobody ever died to guarantee that the corrupt Electoral College will continue to preserve monopolistic insanity.

Trying the proposed system of classifying critters by purpose. For clarity, try using it on non-living items....

Willys provides three nicely contrasting examples. As of 1952, Willys made three cars:

Jeep, needs no introduction.

Station Wagon, the first tall and practical wagon.

Aero, a compact sedan.

These three vehicles show three different paths or trajectories of purpose, measured by how people actually use and understand the vehicle.



Jeep was for off-road usage, more or less replacing the horse for farmers and prospectors and explorers. (And for non-serious versions of each occupation.)

Jeep still has exactly the same purpose now. Still going strong, still seen as a Jeep. It has competitors, but the competitors are considered to be generic jeeps.



Station Wagon was originally used in a truck-ish way, carrying people to off-road work and recreation.

Over the years it spawned many competitors, and gradually moved into more domestic usage. Now the SUV is the default family vehicle. It's seen as a car, not a truck.



Aero began as an economical compact, aimed mainly at the second-car market. It joined the competition late, and failed quickly against the already established Rambler.

Aero then moved to Brazil where it became a luxury car without changing its size or power. Willys do Brasil modified and restyled the Aero several times, becoming fancier and more limousinish each time. It sold until 1972.



In short:

Jeep created a purpose and OWNED it. Same structure, same purpose for 75 years.

Station Wagon created a purpose and kept the same physical form and size while the purpose gradually and naturally changed.

Aero joined an existing category, then moved and joined an entirely different category, where it succeeded for 20 years.

How do you handle this in a classification scheme?

Conclusion: Classifying solely by purpose is the best way to understand organs and systems within a creature, but it's not a good way to classify complete creatures.

The original Hollerith machine....



...was primarily a sorter. It read punch cards carrying data for individual customers or items, and sorted the cards according to a program that was set manually on a plugboard. It also counted punches when specified, and ran basic math on the counts. Modern computers still spend 90% of their time sorting. Despite the name, computing is a side gig.

Why didn't Hollerith/IBM (or anyone else) make a small-scale sorter for small business?

A company with a dozen employees needs plenty of programmable calculation. Weekly payroll for each employee could be programmed by a card representing his W2 and other deductions. Daily deposits, invoices and checks need to be separated by category and recorded.

From 1900 to 1970, small businesses used mechanical adding machines for the calculation itself, and ran the 'programming' part strictly by hand. Read the W2 or invoice by eye, write the checks and ledgers with pen.

Hollerith/IBM gradually evolved its electromechanical sorters to fully electronic computers after 1950. Those sorters and computers remained BIG AND EXPENSIVE in initial cost and maintenance. Only the very biggest companies could afford to buy and operate them.

There's no technical reason why a mechanical adder couldn't read punch cards or McBee cards, to reliably perform and print the payroll for each employee or the invoice for each customer.



We tend to think of the desktop electronic computer as a late development, but in fact the time interval between wide adoption of mainframes and the first PC was just about zero. Mainframes became common in mid-to-large businesses around 1960, and Olivetti's first personal computer came in 1964.

Why didn't the same downward spread of demand happen in the mechanical era?

Why did Wilson's globalist tyranny fade so quickly? His bureaucracies went away instead of morphing and growing in normal Parkinson form. Ferocious globalism took over ALL media in 1918, and disappeared from ALL media by 1920.

WW1 itself led to a sense of futility among Europeans, but doesn't explain the American change. Our participation was short and comparatively small, with a 'manageable' number of combat deaths. We weren't bombed or damaged.

Putting it another way: Why were ordinary Americans able to reject the government's attempt to continue and expand globalist tyranny? Why are they NOT able to reject it now?

Why was FDR able to turn the country back toward sanity, while Euro leaders successfully pushed Germany and Italy back into expansionist insanity?

Hypothesis: Prohibition.

No other country tried prohibition. It was uniquely American.

You can see the difference in American vs Euro movies in the late '20s and early '30s. Americans are wild and rebellious. Criminals are glorified and authorities are corrupt. Brit and Kraut movies have the same clothing and hair and cars, but there's no air of rebellion, no hatred of government.

Interesting observation by one of the money-talkers on radio. Stepping back from the idiocy of politics, one big trend is starting to show up. Central banks are finally getting tired of ZIRP/QE. They haven't turned back toward honest economics yet, but it looks like they're starting to remove the lock from the steering wheel. This week, the central banks of Japan, China, Canada, Australia, England, and US all indicated that they were not going to take further steps toward ZIRP/QE.

If this trend continues and accelerates until we resume honest uncontrolled interest rates and comparatively stable money supplies, a whole lot of problems will be solved without the interference of politics. Savers will start to spend again. Pension funds and insurers can start to recover. Borrowers (including stock speculators and governments) will have to slow down. Banks will realize they can't just sit there and suck Janet's titties; they will have to start being banks again. They will have to pay for deposits and make cautious loans. Investors may consider using their money productively, though that's the least likely part of this extrapolation.

Just for the record... Yesterday I heard three separate unusual noises. One at 1AM, sounding like the front screen door got bumped. Then around 2PM another unidentifiable thump; sounded like a mousetrap, but none of the traps had been triggered. Around 4PM a more earthly thump, identical in sound and feel to the thumps in the 2001 quake swarm.

Each of these would be meaningless alone, but three in a day might warrant attention. Also, one of the commenters at the Spokane-News page heard the 4PM thump. The answers to his post may not be relevant, because they're pointing to a fire that started an hour later.

Later: Pac NW Seismic doesn't show anything, so this is meaningless. During the 2001 swarm, thumps of the same size as the 4PM thump showed on their list. If it's not on their list, it's not seismic.

An interesting hypothesis: The east side of cities is poor because prevailing winds carry industrial pollution eastward.

Could be valid for NY and Paris, which are the examples mentioned, but I can immediately offer a perfect counterexample. Ponca. Refineries covered the south edge of town and made a BIG stink. Okla has constant prevailing wind from the southwest, so the smelliest parts of town are toward the northeast. Where is the richer part of town? Toward the northeast.

The poor parts of older cities were located close to the industries where poor people worked. In other words, the poor were close to the SOURCE of the pollution regardless of wind, not close to the OUTFLOW of the pollution.

I'm more inclined (literally) to use Sailer's rule. High land = high status. At least in the central third of the US, between the Miss and the Rockies, altitude steadily increases westward. The west side of town is usually higher than the east, thus usually richer than the east. Secondarily: Because rivers gradually work their way downward, rivers prefer to meander eastward, which means the flood plain (former river) tends to be between the river and the west-high-land. Industries began in the flood plain to get close to hydropower and shipping. Settlement then advanced westward and uphill, not across the river. The up=west gradient would also be true east of the Appalachians, but not between the Miss and the App. In that zone downward is less predictable. Often but not always it's northward toward the lakes.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. Total for Oct about 6 inches.

Finally seems to be done, with a return to more normal showery pattern after today.

"It was a dark and stormy night" is irresistible, but it's simultaneously redundant and contradictory. Redundant because night is dark by definition. Contradictory because a truly stormy night is bright, at least in stroboscopic form.


Oddity: After 1.25 inches in 8 hours, standing water "should" be much deeper than usual. In fact there's less standing water in streets and sidewalks than the usual half-inch rainstorm.

Guess: Maybe the flow was strong enough to spill over small obstacles and break up leaf dams, moving water out of the usual standing spots?

One unexpected place got more water than usual. The pedestrian walk lights have a pushbutton that normally commands "WAIT!" when the light is still red. This morning I hit the button and didn't hear anything, but the little pilot LED flashed as it should. I hit it again and heard "wait", faint and smothered. Presumably the piezo transducer got drowned.

Each one depends on a single channel to send and receive commands and software updates, each device AUTOMATICALLY seeks software updates, and the frequencies are always in line-of-sight UHF range. These devices are engineered and built in China, a permanently hostile nation.

These bots have all the rigidity of a direct copper wire, plus the jamming and hacking potential of radio waves. Perfect recipe for ATTACKS WITH NO POSSIBLE EVASION OR DEFENSE.

Back in Cold War I, radio and TV stations typically had a set of hardware and 'software' for running the Conelrad alert system. Oddly enough, this hardware was not standardized; some stations ran the wildly complex arrangement manually...



until their engineer could rig up an automatic system. Soon a variety of commercial systems were available. The commercial outfits were typically triggered by a big red button under the announcer's console. There were tape reels and cartridges holding the official announcement.

For the real thing, there was supposedly a final tape made by the President (who was already dead or out of commission in a bunker) reassuring the citizens that we had won the war. I'm not convinced this was true; I have a memory of seeing that tape, but the memory could be false after all these years.

What would today's radio and TV stations do in the event of a Trump presidency? Has Obama made his Bunker Tape? Stations will have to alter every aspect of their "entertainment" and "news". Returning to Bush mode won't do the job. Bush was Official Enemy in public but his actions and agenda were internally approved. Media made lots of noise but OBEYED Bush policies because Bush policies increased the power and wealth of corporate controllers and tyrannical bureaucracies.

If Trump is not simply an Agent Provocateur ... if he actually starts to dial back the plate voltage of globalism ... it will be time to push the Red Button. No more obedience.   Baselines
Civilization requires a firm baseline of economics and culture and basic security. Under the tender guidance of Alinsky and Soros we have smashed all baselines. You can't count on banks to finance your business, you can't count on churches to help with morality, you can't count on science to provide logic or common sense, you can't count on police to keep your neighborhood secure. All of these institutions are either owned by the Tribe or deathly afraid of the Tribe. The Tribe keeps everything bubbling and roaring in all directions at once, so that only Tribal members can lock into the wildly thrashing baseline.

Measurements and senses always start from a baseline. Our senses naturally treat ambient as baseline, PROVIDED the ambient changes slowly enough. When ambient changes too fast we lose our bearings. We may seize or hallucinate or pass out.

Language also requires a baseline, which isn't necessarily a constant as measured by non-linguistic instruments. A clock doesn't treat the moving present as a constant, but languages do. A yardstick doesn't assume MY current position in space as zero, but languages do.

Languages assume the moving present as the baseline for verb tenses, take MY current location as baseline for noun cases, and assume certainty as the baseline for subjunctivity.

Languages can build on these baselines in many directions.

English goes for multilayered time baselines. We can express past from future, future from past, future from past seen from future, etc. Many 'primitive' languages pay little attention to time but have multilayered baselines for probability, certainty, or hearsay-ness.

No language has ever tried to keep up with a Sorosian bucking bronco baseline of constantly twisting and reversing factuality and probability.

Newspeak worked around the issue by skipping tense and probability. All action is current and definite, with no way to express or imagine past or future or guessing.   First proper study of streamlining
Looking for 1910-ish electrical appliances for my graphics projects, I found a volume of Engineering Reports by K-State from the '20s. The book gave me the appliance I wanted, and also included a pioneering piece of aerodynamics research. [p 440 in PDF]

In 1927 the idea of streamlining was just starting to dawn on automakers. Nobody had even run wind tunnel tests on real full-size cars. K-State decided to break new wind.

They Built A Ram Shackle Wind Tunnel,

built and calibrated their own pressure and velocity instruments, and tested 22 vehicles. None of the vehicles were new; most likely they belonged to faculty and students.

The results were counterintuitive.

beat everyone else. The "racer" doesn't look streamlined; it's just LOW.

Conclusion: Shape didn't matter AT ALL. Intuition was no help. Vertical dimension was an important variable, but most of the difference came from fine details that couldn't be measured neatly.

Grumpy thought while trying to find "entertainment": Why hasn't a sharp media entrepreneur picked up the need for a NON-GLOBALIST radio or TV network? All existing media are globalist. Commercial, non-commercial, "right-wing", "left-wing", all indistinguishable, all Soros.

Lots of people in UK/EU/US would rather listen to pleasant noise that doesn't inject red-hot radioactive poisonous Soros Sludge into your brain.

  What are you paying for?
Still feeling somewhat guilty for using Brüel & Kjær when I could have pushed for GenRad, I decided to make a small votive offering to the Made In USA gods, who are also the analog gods. Found a GenRad sound level meter on Ebay from a vendor in Kansas, bought it for $50.



This one is about 20 years old. It was used by the Kansas Dept of Transportation, probably for highway noise abatement studies. Note the calibration sticker from 2004. Presumably the Ebay vendor bought it at a state gov't surplus auction.

SLMs aren't especially exciting or complicated. I bought a similar-looking Chinese unit from Radio Shack back in the '90s for the same $50. New Chinese SLMs of similar specs are still in the $50 range.

This GenRad unit is higher quality than the Radio Shack SLM. Claims to be made in USA. Satisfyingly hefty and still working perfectly. The pouch is real leather. Based on those differences, I guessed the price of a new unit should be around $300.

What's the actual GenRad price?

What are you paying for?

Simple answer: Legal authority. Chain of evidence. Bully power. When you buy new from GR and maintain calibration through GR, you can use the readings in court. That's why the Kansas DOT buys from GR instead of using cheap Chinese meters. They have to be prepared to defend all of their decisions against a Soros-powered environmental group, or against a JPMorgan-powered corporation. Noise readings are a minor part of those defenses, but even noise readings have to stand up in court.

Direct parallel to medical costs. When a doctor tells you to buy a Mylan EpiPen for $700, the doctor is comparatively safe because Mylan has performed all the FDA nonsense. If the doc told you to buy an equivalent EpiPen through Craigslist for $10, he wouldn't be safe from lawyers.

This is the dominant form of 'economic rent' in USA STRONG. It's a Tribal protection racket, indistinguishable from the older Italian version. Syndicate creates a threat, then charges citizens to avoid the threat.

Well, there is one difference. The Tribal syndicate has an iron grip on all levels of government, while the Italian syndicate was only able to buy some parts of some city governments. So there's no Bunco Squad available to counteract this racket.

June 2020 footnote: I finally made this SLM useful. I don't really need to take noise readings. I bought it partly as gratitude to GenRad, and partly for the sound output, thinking it would serve as a microphone. At first I couldn't make the output work, so I assumed it was broken, or maybe it wasn't really meant to be a sound output. The SLM stayed on the shelf for 4 years. Finally this year I got bored enough to try it again with different plugs and cables. The jack is a 'micro' size, and it's recessed behind a D-shaped plastic hole, so most plugs can't get in. I suspect it was meant to take a proprietary GenRad plug, like the similarly official Webster Chicago wire recorder. After I found the right narrow-handled plug, the SLM turns out to be a splendid microphone, putting out lots of voltage to satisfy the computer's input. No hum or hiss, and the weighting buttons filter the sound in different ways. Rediscovering or rejuvenating a forgotten item is one of life's outstanding pleasures.

  Smart idea from Cruz.
I'm impressed by Cruz's proposal to attrit the Supreme Satans by refusing to approve ANY new Satans when old ones take up their honored positions in Hell.

Up till now Cruz had seemed to be locked into the delusion that "laws" and "constitutions" control the dysgovernment. This new proposal shows an understanding of how things really work, AND it's not contrary to the text of the old obsolete "constitution". The document does not specify how many criminals must sit in the Supreme Crime Syndicate. If Congress wants to have ZERO criminals, it's technically "legal" and concretely BEAUTIFUL.

The division of Satans into "conservative" and "liberal" is meaningless. No matter how many Satans belong to each "side", all of the syndicate's important decisions since 1803 have served the aristocrats. Decisions with economic consequences always make the rich richer, and decisions with cultural consequences always favor the maximally evil Satanic "values" of the rich.

I don't think Cruz is trying to reach zero. He should, and he should also extend this idea to all Federal crime syndicates. Again the old obsolete document does NOT require any of these syndicates to exist; it specifically allows Congress to create and define the syndicates.

Mr Ford's proposal provides for the building of a giant city 75 miles long, centered on Muscle Shoals.

Then would follow rapid development... until within a few years an industrial center greater than Detroit would have been built up. Mr Ford believes the Muscle Shoals plan would be the start toward development of the Mississippi River Valley. This valley could "run the United States" if the water now going to waste could be efficiently utilized. ... The Government could derive enough revenue from these power projects to support itself, thereby revolutionizing the financial system of the country.

The long city would have been a terrible idea, so it's good that the gov't rejected Ford's offer to buy Alabama and control all the water on every farm.

Ten years later the gov't implemented a better idea, leaving existing cities in place, building more big dams for power, and using the water and electricity to grow farms and businesses.

I doubt that the TVA could have "run the whole country", but TVA plus BPA do in fact power a major part of the country even now. I also doubt that the gov't could have entirely supported itself, but TVA and BPA have been profitable for the Feds. Many cities supported their entire tax base from municipal power plants in the '30s and '40s, so the idea isn't impossible.

And of course 90 years later the gov't went ahead and controlled all the water on every farm in the fucking country, tore down all dams, and eliminated all clean sources of electricity in an effort to exterminate everything except the Tribe. We have in fact revolutionized the financial system in the direction of chaos and ruin.

So the bad parts of Ford's original idea have returned with a ferocious vengeance, serving Satan instead of workers and farmers.

In Orwell's analytical essay on Newspeak he emphasizes the power of bellyfeel, as in Oldthinkers unbellyfeel Ingsoc.

Every cult and every addiction relies on developing bellyfeel. Your body WANTS AND NEEDS the essentials and accoutrements of the cult or addiction. When anything threatens the parasite you know how to toss the threat out of your mind.

I've seen this in myself as I moved into and out of hippieshit leftism, alcohol and tobacco. Each of those Ingsocs lasted about three years. [Seems to be my natural resonance for many types of attachments. Jobs, political views, habits, passions.]

During the attachment to hippieshit I was immune to logical arguments against leftist views. During the attachment to alcohol I paid no attention to the alcohol-induced suicides and deaths of ancestors. During the attachment to tobacco I was immune to noticing that my blood pressure was achieving orbital altitude. Each of these Ingsocs ended rather quickly and undramatically, with an awakening. Just like waking from a dream into reality.

New thought: The cults of alcohol and tobacco obviously pivot on a specific chemical that grabs the brain and gut. That's easy.

How about political addictions? Orwell wasn't thinking along these lines, but bellyfeel implies a change in the gut flora, AND his dictatorship had a definite set of non-standard foods.   Are cartoons wrong?
Birds in cartoons and proverbs like to eat earthworms. This super-rainy month has provided a good chance to test the hypothesis. Almost every day has been rainy enough to force worms onto the street. Lots of worms, saliently wiggling.

Where are the birds? I see plenty of Default Brown Birds gathering in the trees and wires, gossiping and trash-talking as usual. In dry weather I've often seen those birds congregating on the street to eat something that isn't visible from my viewpoint. Maybe seeds, maybe ants.

When the aphids swarm, I see those birds flying through the swarm and picking them off, even though the aphids look too small to be worth the energy of catching.

But I haven't seen any birds eating those nice fat worms.

Are the cartoons wrong?

More misunderstanding.

Auctioning is not the problem. As I detailed before, fraudulent auctioning is the problem. Buyers are led to believe that they can buy orders and "laws", but in fact the orders and "laws" are going to the same old privileged Tribe regardless of payment.

Repeating the point:

If we had a fair market in orders and "laws", pro-life activists could crowdfund a billion dollars, pay the appropriate middleman, and get an executive order prohibiting abortion.

If we had a fair market in "treaties", populists could donate 40 billion to the correct retailer and get a Mexican wall and an end to outsourcing.

If we had a fair market in NGO activity, sane people could crowdfund 50 billion, donate to Soros, and get a total halt to all Sorosian activities. No more wars started by US govt, no more riots started by media and aided by US govt, no more illegitimate "popes" and "bishops" destroying churches, no more invading armies of "Dreamers", no more weaponized Trans Things. No more organized evil.

What is a PROJECTION?

A projection is a prejudice by definition.

It is a preconceived NOTION applied to an entire group, based on limited or nonexistent facts.

Some prejudices are perfectly valid, some are stupid. 100% of the statements that we currently call "prejudices" are not prejudices at all. They are simple and obvious facts, as close to universal as you can get when judging complex living things.

Some projections can turn out to be valid, but most are guaranteed to be wildly wrong. The people who are paid to make projections, just like Swift's PROJECTORS in Laputa, use linear extrapolation.

Linear extrapolation works for a simple mechanism like a lever or a gear. If the gears have a 1:10 ratio and the driving gear rotates 4 turns, we can project validly that the driven gear will make 40 turns.

Linear extrapolation FAILS every time when applied to real natural phenomena, including economics. Nature never moves like gears or levers. Most of the things we're interested in measuring move in a tanh or irregular sinusoid pattern.

The specific projections of "global warming" are wrong beyond linear vs tanh. "Global warming" is a precisely backwards theory which has been disproved thousands of times in thousands of ways. There's no way you can use a bad theory for prediction or projection. Math won't help.

So: this "court" is allowing the dysgovernment to steal private property and destroy cities and dams based on an INVALID AND FALSE PREJUDICE.

ZeroHedge is worrying about SmartMatic voting machines with obvious ties to Soros. Last time it was the other way around. Commies were worried about Diebold voting machines with ties to Koch.

Both are right in a way, but not in the way they think.

First, we don't need to worry about technology in connection with the presidential "elections". Those "elections" have been 100% fixed from the start in a dozen different ways. Technology can't make the fix worse than 100%.

Second, we shouldn't be worrying about candidates in any election, because all candidates end up serving DeepState. Bureaucracies and corporations can always bring a rebel into line by blackmail and crazifying, or remove a rebel for "ethics violations". Quick and easy.

We SHOULD worry about correct counting of referenda and bond proposals, because those elections can occasionally change or restrict the behavior of bureaucracies.

Third: With voting as with money, you want a procedure that can be checked and verified, a procedure immune to undetectable external influences. In other words, you want PAPER.

It's OK to speed up counting with optical scan machines, as long as the voters are making PHYSICAL MARKS on PHYSICAL PAPER which is RETAINED after the count.

When you lose PAPER and turn everything into bits that can be changed via the web, you guarantee all types of cheating by all sorts of players, especially DeepState.

Tenure is a proper apprenticeship system, pretty much the only true remnant of old-fashioned apprentice/journeyman/master. It's OJT for new profs.

Nothing wrong with that. Problem is, we're taking the side-effects of this OJT as "science". All other forms of OJT consider the practice work of apprentices to be discardable.

Real development of useful knowledge has always happened OUTSIDE of academe, in business and government. Some of this development is hired out to academics, but the real action remains inside the business or agency. The academic contract is normally a quality control or cross-check.

Sounds good at first, but shows a misunderstanding of US media. Thinking about this misunderstanding helped me to step back and find the real constant.

WL clearly assumes that US media would have been bothered by the rigging of the primary, and would have helped Bernie. Nope. That wouldn't happen and DIDN'T happen. The rigging was perfectly open and obvious even before WL came along. Media silenced and tinfoiled all reports of rigging.

But wait. Aren't the media leftist? Wouldn't they prefer a consistent leftist like Bernie?

Are they antiwar? No. When Bush was making war in Iraq, media fought him. When Hillary was making war everywhere, media cheered her.

  I take it back
Earlier I sort of halfway praised Venezuela's fantastically stupid Maduro. At least he was permitting a recall referendum. Now I have to take back the slight praise. Maduro is behaving in proper USA STRONG fashion, canceling the referendum.

Leave aside all the usual crap about socialism and democracy. It's just Nature. Call it engineering or biology. A complicated machine or plant or animal survives because of negative feedback. When feedback is nonexistent or blocked, the machine or living creature dies.

Same with an organization, whether political or economic. People need food and dignity. A country can't survive when most of its people are starving and unemployed and dead. A sane chief understands that his own power can't continue when the organization ceases to exist, and finds a way to fix problems before they reach terminal condition.

Maduro is not a sane chief, or more precisely he is not a chief at all. He is accustomed to a globalist system that narrows each country down to one single resource. Graybill's Law. He only sees Exxon's paychecks. His job is not ruling Venezuela, his job is keeping the oil flowing.

Venezuelans are "petitioning for redress" in the vain belief that political solutions are still available. They should be applying feedback to Exxon instead.

A bone-conduction headphone for hearing-impaired people with conductive losses. Unfortunate picture; looks like old Gramps is getting electrocuted or forcibly Alzheimered.

Simple instructions. Magnetic headphones were being obsolesced by speakers in the early '30s, so most households had a leftover pair of phones. Take off one phone, pad the side of the headband, and glue a washer onto the diaphragm of the other phone. Presto! Bone conduction!

It definitely worked, but it didn't go anywhere.

The cartoon is a bit of a stretch, but the rule is obvious:

When your things are not tied to Central Control, your things are strictly under YOUR control. The Empire can't use your things to sabotage you, or to sabotage anyone else.

I've made a strong point of avoiding and eliminating software. I can't go all the way, but I've stayed minimal. My computer and its peripherals (printer, mouse, keyboard) are tied to the Net. Everything else in my house is either mechanical or analog-era electronics, not only disconnected but totally incapable of being connected.

This DDOS showed another big problem. Because Twitter was mostly down, every website that used Twitter resources was down.

I tried to avoid this in my final courseware project last year. The NYC publisher insisted on using JS code running from Twitter because it was the easiest way to keep up with the latest COOOOOL look for buttons and blanks. I pushed hard against it but lost the battle. Fashion beats function every time. Now their courseware is down along with everything else that uses external resources.

Google and Twitter have extended their tentacles into everything by providing these various resources and codebits and fonts. Even when you're not intentionally searching via Google or communicating via Twitter, you're using them.

At the end of the 1945 'prophecy' in previous item, the author goes beyond the communication system:

Tiny electronic devices will avert automobile and airplane collisions; electric eyes will automatically turn on auto headlights as darkness... tourists traveling from NY to Calif will transfer the responsibility of guiding the steering wheel to a photoelectric cell which will scan a white line on the highway and follow it.

Another familiar prediction. Automatic dimming came true in 1952 but never worked right, which should have taught a lesson. Didn't. Lessons are never learned.

Even though computing was not part of the 'vision' then, the prediction still holds true for REAL LIFE USAGE. Averting collisions and following a straight interstate. That's as far as automation can go, if it's INTENDED TO HELP PEOPLE.

The Tribe wants autonomous cars for an entirely different reason, so it's pushing for 100% autonomy.



Needless to say, the Federal dysgovernment is rolling out the lavender carpet to "regulate" this goal into existence speedily. Whatever the Tribe wants, the Tribe gets. And infinitely infinitely more. You need Tribal numbers to enumerate what the Tribe gets.

Despite all this, a remarkably realistic article by Niedermeyer Junior gets it mostly right. The first comment under the article gets it EXACTLY right, and deserves quoting:

The basic concept of a personal wireless telephone is VERY old. As I noted earlier, the idea started percolating in 1910, immediately after voice communication by radio was practical.

Just after WW2, amid the burst of open-source government creativity that was soon halted by Truman's globalist tyranny, a specific proposal was made by FCC. This specific proposal sounds remarkably familiar....





Bringing out a couple of sentences:

...the walkie-talkie will contact a physician from a central exchange while he is en route by automobile to a patient's home; the farmer's wife who formerly summoned her husband to the noon-day meal with a clanging dinner bell will call him on 460 megacycles; hunters exploring the far reaches of forests or swamps in search of wild game and fish will be in contact by radio with a central hunting and fishing lodge; department stores, dairies, laundries and similar business concerns will communicate directly with their delivery trucks en route....

Most of these specific activities are either obsolete or illegal now, but you get the idea.

Cellphones as developed in the '80s began with a different essential concept but ended up matching this description.

This 1945 proposal was INTRINSICALLY LOCAL, naturally decentral, strictly BASE TO REMOTE, with each base communicating on low power to its OWN remotes. The central office or house or lodge would use regular phone lines for communicating outside the family or business.

Modern cellphone activity is ALMOST ENTIRELY BASE TO REMOTE, which is why these little scenarios sound so familiar. I don't have stats, but I'd guess 90% of cellphone activity is base-to-remote. Parents tracking kids, businesses tracking deliveries, gamers communicating with Game Central or whatever it is. Very small hub-spoke patterns with at most a few hundred spokes.

The post-1980 implementation DID NOT START with base to remote; it developed from the phone company's long-distance operations, so it's INTRINSICALLY GLOBAL. Modern cellphones are ALWAYS IN CONTACT with the nationwide network, which means the nationwide network can always find you and monitor you.

Under the 1945 system global monitoring and global hacking would have been hugely expensive and impractical. Under the existing system global monitoring and global hacking are the core and base of the business.

Definitions for clarity:

A conspiracy theory may be essentially true, but it always brings in complicated "secret meetings" and external forces that are NOT VISIBLY INVOLVED OR LINKED.

A fact is true, and it assumes only the VISIBLY OBSERVED forces. The pattern is usually quite simple.

This is a conspiracy theory by definition.

Is the presidential election rigged? Of course. But Putin and WikiLeaks and Trump are external forces that aren't needed to explain the fact.

Simple fact: the election doesn't need to be rigged via "voter fraud" or "hacking" because it's already rigged at a more basic level. Rigged from both ends.

One end is the Electoral College, specifically designed to place the final choice in the hands of a few people in one room. A few dozen people gathered together can be influenced easily, while millions of separate voters are INFINITELY harder to influence.

The other end is the two parties. Normally both parties choose candidates who agree on all important issues. It doesn't matter which one "wins" because the result serves DeepState either way.

This year we have an unusual situation that does require external explanation, and I still don't see the explanation. Jeb was the expected identical candidate. Jeb was probably going to "win" because of the automatic 8-year rule, but it didn't matter. DeepState would fully control Jeb/Hillary.

Trump broke the expectation, eliminating the Coke/Pepsi situation and insuring that Hillary would be a STRONG winner with a MASSIVE MANDATE TO KILL ALL MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS IN THE WORLD.

So the question that really needs an external explanation, perhaps getting into conspiracy territory, is why DeepState decided not to trust Jeb. He looked like Pepsi from the outside, but he must have seemed untrustworthy to DeepState.

Of course this doesn't matter either, because the people who might be able to ask and answer this question ... or any question ... will soon be slaughtered.

Pointless rambling about Ramblers.

As I continue binge-reading old electronics mags, I'm feeling guilty about helping to ruin American industry. Some of these mags focus heavily on acoustics, with plenty of pictures and articles about acoustics labs and speech labs. Since I worked much of my life in such labs, I pay close attention to these articles.

The labs shown in the magazines always used GenRad instrumentation, made in Boston by a company with close ties to MIT and Bolt Beranek. This makes sense. GR made all the tools you need for those labs, and the tools were designed to work together.

In 20 years of work at three universities, I never used any GR equipment; can't even remember seeing any GR stuff. Everything was Brüel & Kjær, made in Denmark.

Brüel & Kjær equipment was notoriously fragile, designed to fail. Their sound-level meters had capacitor mics energized by a 200 volt charge. When used in high humidity they quickly and permanently zapped. Pennsylvania always has high humidity, so the BK equipment in the Penn State acoustics lab was permanently fried.

Atrocious design.

I don't know if GR equipment was better overall because I never used or repaired it, but it's clear that GR sound level meters of similar vintage were more convenient in form:



Note that the weighting control is part of the main box on the GR meter. The BK had a "detachable" module for weighting and filtering, but in practice you always needed the "detachable" module. So the BK meter was long and unwieldy and wiggly, with scratchy plugs between the modules, and the fried mic wasn't pivotable.

Looking at the schematic, the GenRad was designed to take several different types of mic including dynamic, piezo and condenser. You could pick to suit your conditions.

Every component in Brüel & Kjær was peculiar and unique, so every repair required ordering parts from Denmark. The GR schematic shows several specific-value resistors, but the tubes and transistors are standard. Ordering the specific Rs from Boston would have been a lot faster and more convenient than ordering from Denmark. No international customs, no exchange rates.

Given all of those practical considerations, why was Brüel & Kjær the ONLY CONCEIVABLE equipment? Why was there no GenRad?

If I had known there was a better alternative, I could have influenced purchasing decisions toward GR. But I didn't know, so I didn't influence.

It had to be the natural academic preference for COOL foreign stuff. I shared that attitude for many years, which is why I drove fragile and literally fry-able VW deathtraps instead of sturdy Ramblers. Same comparison. The Rambler American was similar in size and gas economy to a Beetle, but much more convenient and resilient and SAFE and comfortable. Parts were easier to order.

Practicality doesn't count when COOOLness is at stake. Brüel & Kjær had COOL ümlæuts and WEIRD kj combinations, while GenRad only had dull generic English words. General. Radio. Rambler. American.



I'm deeply sorry.

Next day: GR gave me a little gift despite my treachery. I'd halted my experimentation with submini tubes during the two months around hernia surgery. Now that I'm pretty much healed, I tried to resume the fiddling but wasn't getting anywhere. One of the GR sound level meters included two of the same 6418 tubes I've been using, and the schematic showed me a detail of proper connection that wasn't obvious from the data sheets. Followed their lead, and presto! Circuit works!

Later note: GenRad's 1961 brochure shows that the BK humidity problem was well known, and GR was specifically answering it with their products:

Its characteristics approach those of condenser microphones classed as laboratory standards. Unlike condenser microphones, however, the ceramic unit does not require a special preamp with a high dc polarizing voltage supply, and its impedance is an order of magnitude lower, so that leakage due to high humidity is less of a problem.

So there was NO EXCUSE for using BK in a place like Pennsylvania.

  Only ad for Italia?


I've never seen an ad for the Hudson Italia before. Never seen a pic outside of car-history books. This ad in March '54 Electronics wasn't exactly for the car ... it was using the car as "a look into the future."

Unfortunately Hudson's future disappeared at the exact time when this mag was being printed. Hudson's future was to provide a Detroit factory for Nash. No more Italia, no more Jet, no more Hornet.

Given the situation in 1954, with GM and Ford muscling everyone else out of the business, the AMC merger was probably the least-awful solution. Many Hudson employees and dealers were able to keep working. Without the merger Hudson would have totally collapsed.
