BBC's website has a nice feature on the mountains of Oklahoma. Beautiful pictures, accurate description, no nonsense about redneck KKK crackers or Koch Halliburton Fracking.
Why the focus? Clearly the Feds want to ruin this land by owning it, so they've triggered an international crusade:
In addition to having minimal government protection, vast swaths of the Interior Highlands are privately owned and could be easily bought out by any business interest that wants to log or develop it. But immediate profits may not compare to the potential revenue from a national park, which gives local communities a return of 10 dollars for every one dollar spent.STOP AND THINK. 1. The Ouachitas and Anadarkos could have been "easily bought out" for logging and developing for 110 years. NOBODY HAS DONE IT YET. The era of uncontrolled settlement and exploitation was finished about 70 years ago. If it hasn't happened already, it ain't gonna happen. 2. The current beautiful condition RESULTS from the current ownership by definition. In fact much of this area is already under state control, and some parts are already under Federal control in various types of preservation areas. But that isn't enough for the Sorosians. Only INTERNATIONAL control is good enough. We must let the Feds and the UN take over the Ouachitas entirely, so the area can enjoy the massive forest fires and landslides that total Federal control guarantees. SOROS DELENDA EST.
