More thinking about
Batya's magnificent message on the media.
One point she makes repeatedly in various interviews is correct in general but not quite in specifics:
She says that before TV, there was typically one newspaper in a city. One newspaper doesn't want to divide the people, because it wants to advertise to everyone in town. Now we have divided media, so CNN and FOX can satisfy and amplify the most extreme views of the two teams.
She's correct about the unifying effect of a
normal business in a smaller city or state. But the history of media doesn't really match the
normal business model.
Before TV, newspapers WERE the dividers.
As I've noted before, every village above 200 population had one weekly paper. Every town above 2000 had one daily. Cities above 20000 had more than one daily, often 5 or 6 in a city like Topeka or Spokane.
One-paper towns were TINY. The vast majority of the population lived in cities with two or more papers, so the vast majority could pick their favorite brand.
The real unifier was radio and TV, specifically because of the Fairness Doctrine, which was SERIOUSLY ENFORCED from 1934 to 1980. News and entertainment, including comedy, had to be STRICTLY NONPARTISAN. Batya is too young to remember FAIR radio.
= = = = =
We tend to think that monopoly creates disconnection from customers, and thus enables extreme or crazy views.
The causation is reversed. Monopoly vs competition isn't the driving variable. Disconnection from customers is the driving variable.
A profit-seeking business of any size wants as many customers as it can get, so it doesn't try to repel customers unnecessarily. (Obviously no business wants a non-paying or criminal customer.) This is true whether the business has a monopoly or not.
In the current globalized "market", big corporations DON'T WANT CUSTOMERS. They want SHAREHOLDERS, and SHAREHOLDERS all have one insane set of values and opinions.
This is not a monopoly problem, it's a complete failure and loss of BUSINESS AND CAPITALISM.

Small victory
Amid the unending "virus" torture, which appears to be fading in many states but still running full force in Demon Woodward and Demon Inslee's torture chamber, and amid this year's unending bad weather, I try to create and treasure small victories.
This one is especially delicious and vindicacious. My courseware has been working properly in the Blackboard and Moodle LMSes for three years. Many universities are switching to the Canvas LMS for unknown reasons, probably cost.
Canvas was slow to handle SCORM, and until now it didn't handle SCORM properly even in the systems that were supposedly equipped.
Free testbeds are no longer available for any of the LMSes, so I have to rely on the kindness of customers to lend me a temporary login on real systems. Last year around this time I conducted a long and careful test of my courseware in a Canvas system, and determined that it was only partly functional. The lessons displayed, but grades weren't recorded. Without access to the inner workings of Canvas, I couldn't draw any conclusions. Other users were having the same trouble, so I had to assume without proof that Canvas was the defective side.
But I know from long experience that the system is usually NOT the problem. The problem is usually on my end.
This week an existing customer using Blackboard found that her university is switching to Canvas and asked if I could try it out. She kindly finagled a login, and THIS TIME it works perfectly.
I didn't change anything. Canvas must have fixed its problems. The whole setup looks different now, and it's much easier to use as well.

So a little gloating is called for. Normally this type of incompatibility is my fault. THIS TIME it was the system's fault.

More about Soviet profit
From Computers and Automation, an article by a scientist at JPL, written in late 1959, two years after Sputnik.
He's asking if there really is a Space Race. He begins by defining a race, and then:
If the ingredients of a reward, a significant achievement, an interested audience, and at least one participant are taken as the criteria for a race, then there most certainly is a space race, since we have at least one highly demonstrative participant, the Russians, and we have ample evidence of the achievements, rewards, and interest to the audience.
Let us then consider the race from the point of view of the Communist government and society of the USSR. The Russian Communists have certain over-all objectives. They want a strong Russian Communist society. They want to expand their sphere of influence. And they want an increasingly favorable economic situation for Russia; i.e., they wish a higher standard of living, greater productivity, and a favorable world market, which will permit them, in capitalistic terms, to make a profit.
On the dot.
As I've noted before, a few Americans understood the Soviet system correctly at that time. It was based on profit. The government profited when companies created value, so the government was motivated to help industries create real value.
Since 1980 our system HATES profit and tries to OBLITERATE every aspect of profit. No creation or increase of real value is allowed.
What prizes did Russia win by getting there first with Sputnik?
Some of the prizes can be valued in cold cash. The Russians probably spent on the order of 500 million dollars in order to launch the first several Sputniks. As a direct result of these launchings, Russian technical prestige took a large discrete jump upwards in the world market.
Making a highly conservative guess of the cash value of this jump, based upon the size of the world market and the size of various governmental expenditures, the first several Sputniks meant a return on the world market on the order of five billion dollars. Therefore, by spending five hundred million dollars the Russians got back about ten times that amount.
How does tech prestige translate into profit?
Suppose that you were a civil servant in South America or Asia and you were responsible for choosing a contractor to build a bridge. Because your own country has no bridge-building contractors, you must look to other countries of the world. Before Sputnik you would probably consider obtaining your bridge from the United States, the United Kingdom, or perhaps, West Germany. It is unlikely that you would consider a Russian contractor too seriously. After Sputnik, the countries that come to mind are now Russia and the United States.
Now, of course, the countries that come to mind are China and Russia. USA no longer builds things. We only destroy and obliterate.
Internal prestige is also a prize, and our Deepstate recognized the prize:
Such an achievement is an enormous boost to nationalism and patriotism, and the Russian Communists have succeeded in adding this asset of patriotism to support for Russian Communism. The Russian Communist government is now in far better standing with the Russian people: this is evidenced by at least two facts. The first fact is that the absolute dictator of Russia could afford to
be out of his country for a period of three months.
Secondly, we no longer hear the assertion that "if we could only reach the Russian people directly, they would overthrow the regime." Such talk no longer seems realistic.
Scientific prestige? Not so important.
The real surprise is that the expected prize of all this space activity was supposed to be science and discovery and yet this prize seems to come last on the list. Until very recently, the Russians had not made any astonishing scientific discoveries and it almost appeared as if the United States held the monopoly. Unfortunately, that U.S. monopoly no longer exists and the Russians have made important scientific discoveries which are recognized as such throughout the world. The Russians have told us that the moon has no magnetic field nor does it have any Van Allen belt. It is unlikely that anyone will question this discovery. The Russians have taken a
picture of the other side of the moon and have named the various topological features.
Finally he hits us with HARDASS reality.
Based on this kind of evidence, I think it is fair to conclude that we are in a race. What we may not have realized is that the Russians are in it whether we are in it or not. In a sense, we are so far behind that the Russian competition does not even look back to find
out where we are.

Constant:
None of these considerations surfaced in our media, then or now. We "woke up".
We switched our math and science teaching from horrible to totally useless, and that "solved" the problem.
Variable:
Our experts in 1959 were grounded in reality, and
discussed reality openly. Now our experts know the reality and tell us the exact opposite.

Saluting Oklahoma
I haven't done a Salute in a LONG time because there hasn't been much worth saluting. Too many of my previous salutes were premature: the saluted country or ruler turned out to be the usual faker and betrayer, converging to Deepstate shortly after my praise. Maybe this one will also converge, but we'll salute anyway as a form of prayer. The EXPERIMENT is still underway, and we're still seeing the dramatic difference between states with sane governors versus states with demonic governors.
Daily suicides in demonic states, normal life in sane states.
According to
this data map, Oklahoma and Utah are the only states that FORBID waterboarding and torture by schools. Most of the country is in 'local option' mode, which is slightly better than total requirement of waterboarding and torture. The other Dixie states tried to ban torture but got overturned by Federal black-robed demons.
According to that same website, 21% of ALL schools are ungagged, which means the 'local option' mode is working in some places. This is an encouraging number, since 'local option' is probably the easiest to maintain against the black-robed demons.
Okla was somewhat slow in gathering up its GUTS. Late in 2020, as courage gradually spread out from Florida, Okla was among the last of the Dixie states to break free. At least as of today, Okla is free and breathing, until a black-robed demon succeeds in reinstating torture for students.
So here goes: Polistra and friends salute Oklahoma!

Nov 10: As predicted, a black-robed demon has overturned the total ban. Returned to local option, which is probably the least horrible alternative under a permanently demonic federal dysgovernment. Utah still has a total ban, but I'm sure that won't last.

Constants and Variables 168, Lowenstein edition
Since I just bashed Unz, let's balance it with praise for ONE of the columnists. Barrett appears (at the moment anyway) to be a relatively true beacon. He hasn't showed the Pied Piper colors YET.
His latest audio clip is an interview with a pair of high-status hippies, Paul Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Gould.
Unlike most high-status hippies, Paul and Elizabeth didn't join Deepstate. They continued working on the side of truth.
They see more or less the same things I'm seeing, from a different angle. I see these monstrosities from a scientist/engineer temperament. Paul and Elizabeth (and Barrett as well) see the trends from a historian/journalist temperament.
The story starts with a point of intersection between the two angles, a 'controlled experiment' that shows the distinction between high-status and low-status hippies. The constant in the experiment is Allard Lowenstein.
Paul
Fitzgerald met Allard Lowenstein while involved in the 1980 Teddy Kennedy campaign. Lowenstein recognized him as a distant relative of the Kennedys, and confided in him that the truth about the
assassinations would eventually come out.
(Of course it hasn't yet.)
I met Lowenstein in Jamestown NY while I was campaigning for Gene McCarthy in 1968. A group of Bobby Kennedy campaigners was also working in Jamestown. Lowenstein gathered up both crews and gave us a pep talk. So I got a handshake from Lowenstein.
High status vs low-status.
Paul and Elizabeth discuss four important themes at length in the interview.
1.
The Fairness Doctrine WORKED, and we need to bring it back.
2.
Medieval mode. We're back in 1300.
3.
Endless wars and
staged "threats".
4. Psychopaths are in charge, and psychopaths have a burning need to
OBLITERATE EVERYTHING. Each demon wants to be the SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE UNIVERSE.
In each case, Paul and Elizabeth treat these subjects from a historical and theological angle, while I treat them from neurology and the predestined course of the universe.
Both angles are needed for a complete picture.

Time was a whole bunch of money!
In previous item I noted that the AI speech synthesizer for a video failed to look up an unfamiliar word, just tried to pronounce it without even following normal English semi-rules. How much time would the lookup take? Maybe 20 milliseconds at best, a few seconds at worst. Locating a fact on the web is much slower and less predictable than internal processing, even if the synthesizer had a 'favored' connection to Google.
Time was a vastly more important limiting factor than memory size in the early mainframe era, mainly because computers were rented. We usually focus on the limited memory and miss the time cost.
Chart from
Datamation June '64.

The cost to compile 100 COBOL statements varied unpredictably from twenty cents to twenty dollars! No correlation with monthly rental. Note that IBM 70xx series computers were at both ends of the scale.
Unsurprisingly, the same issue of Datamation had a long article on the pros and cons of timesharing.

Constants and variables 167, Bloomberg edition
I notice that our dear "mayor" has posted a video dealing with "pandemic fatigue". I didn't listen, because one of MY ways of dealing with life in a torture chamber is mental OCD. Avoid all demonic inputs unless they're giving a direct enforced command.
So I'll just rant on the title.
First thought: CHUTZPAH. A torturer is instructing her victims to stop being tired of the torture. If she really wanted us to stop being tired, she would
STOP THE FUCKING TORTURE. And 'fatigue' is an understatement. We have DAILY bridge-jumping suicides, wild suicidal car crashes, and uncounted quiet suicides and collapses. The plan is working magnificently.
Second thought: Well, this is how psychopaths work. They don't want to kill the victim fast, because that's no fun. They give the victim brief rest breaks and fake "reprieves", so the next STOMP will hit harder and hurt more.
Third thought: Connect this with the
War On X. When you let psychopaths run governments, this is exactly what you get. Normal humans, assigned to perform a difficult and unpleasant task, will try to SOLVE THE PROBLEM FAST so they can return to normal life. Psychopaths ENJOY creating pain and murder and chaos, and want to KEEP IT GOING as long as possible.
Fourth thought: Early in this holocaust the mayors emerged as the hardest and steadiest participants. We now know that the project was launched inside the Public Death Agencies, who have been itching for a Whole-of-society "cleansing" since
1900. Carter Mecher and his gang launched the US version when commanded by Bush Junior in 2005.
Among the levels of government, the Feds came first because Mecher was working inside the Pentagon to create "bioterror". The Federal government is constant by definition. Puppet presidents come and go, and nothing changes.
Governors were NOT constant. Noem of SD refused to participate at all, and wasn't killed. A few months later, Dixie and Wheatland governors started to peel away. By the end of 2020 the states were about half crazy and half sane, and nothing has moved since then. The sane governors haven't been killed, and the Feds haven't managed to shake their resolve.
Mayors were an absolute constant. All of them joyfully adopted the murder plan. In sane states, mayors were steadfastly resisting the sane governors, and the strongest sane governors had to take harsh legal steps to force sanity on the crazy cities.
No mayor has voluntarily pulled out of the holocaust.
So the mayors are a key point in understanding the plans and schedules. How were they organized and mobilized and "sterilized" well in advance? The only publicly known connection is Bloomberg, who personally owns most of the big mayors. I doubt that Bloomberg is the main driving force in this situation, but his control might be a starting point for the proverbial Martian historians.

Random note on checking accounts
Several years ago I read that banks and businesses no longer pay attention to signatures or words on a check, just the amount. I wasn't convinced.
Last month I accidentally proved it. I paid two bills at the same time: "health" insurance and city utility bill. I was more stressed than usual that day because Demon Inslee had just reinstated full ballgag torture after the usual psychopathic "reprieve". I accidentally switched the two checks.
Yesterday the "health" insurer sent back a notice that they couldn't cash the check, and the photocopy showed that it was the city utility check. I looked at the bank account online, and it was clear that the city had mindlessly deposited the insurance check, and the bank had taken the deposit into the city's account without noticing the wrong addressee.
So we have a constant and a variable. Constant: The bank doesn't notice at all. Variable: SOME businesses notice and some don't.

Random thought that popped up for no reason. Not especially interesting but seems to be fairly fresh, not often discussed.
Point: Various types of media have similar time-graphs of centralized vs broad.
= = = = =
Newspapers began in the 1600s as strictly urban. Amsterdam, London, Berlin, later New Amsterdam.
By 1920, newspapers were amazingly broad. Every American town above 200 population had a weekly. Towns above 2000 had a daily. Towns above 20000 had two or three competing dailies. Big cities had hundreds of papers serving every imaginable ethnic group and trade group.**
After 1950 newspapers started to repel their own readers, aiming instead to please NYC shareholders who were buying and consolidating papers.
= = = = =
Radio began in 1920 as urban plus academic. The first organized stations were in the
usual big cities, plus
Aggie colleges like K-State, serving the interests of farmers. So the earliest radio listeners were flappers and farmers, an oddly bimodal distribution. By 1930 radio looked more like newspapers, with one station in towns above 2k, two stations in towns above 20k, etc. After 1960 radio lost its soul and consolidated, leaving only the biggest cities plus some 'autopilot' stations in smaller cities, basically relays for the networks.
= = = = =
TV began in 1940 as urban plus academic again, but this time the academic versions weren't for farmers. After WW2 interrupted, TV resumed in 1952, now all urban. Two technical limitations made the earlier form of broadening impossible. (1) A basic television studio is far more expensive than a basic radio studio. (2) Because VHF is short-range and line-of-sight, smaller cities were completely unserved. If you were within 50 miles of a big city, you could pick up a decent signal with a tall antenna. Beyond 50 miles, out of luck. TV didn't broaden until the late '60s with the first cable systems, which were just a supertall antenna plus an amplifier and wired distribution system. Cable didn't become the consolidated provider of all programming until 1990.
= = = = =
The internet began as
government plus academia in 1970. Compuserve and BBS spread the service to everyone with a telephone connection. Consolidation began with high-speed cable modems, sharing the TV cable lines. Now we're back to only government.
= = = = =
The common pattern is: Begin as urban plus academia, then broaden out for a while, then consolidate back to single-source urban.
= = = = =

circulation was about 300. This was true for small-town weeklies and also for those specialized newsletters in metro areas.

Couldn't do it now
This 1948 episode of 'Calling All Detectives' is unique at two levels. At the character level it portrays the conflict between real science versus the highly competitive team sport of academic science. At the plot level, the detective USES real science to find the culprit.
A geologist who runs a seismology research station has been killed. The prime suspect is a real scientist who dislikes the team sport. Our detective clears him by narrowing down the time when the murder occurred, and showing that the prime suspect wasn't there at the time.
How did he narrow down the time? After hanging around the facility and observing the
delicately balanced seismographs, he realizes that the falling body would have made a blip on the graphs, which wouldn't be seen in other seismograph stations. Sure enough, they find a twitch during the relevant interval, which isn't matched by other stations.
Granted, a stabbed body wouldn't necessarily fall ... but the writers couldn't get overcomplicated in an 8-minute drama. Still, it's an accurate use of Constants And Variables, and an accurate representation of how real science works.
Modern TV and movies couldn't handle either level. All "scientists" must now be represented as pure altruists, even though the team sport is now UNIVERSAL. In reality, any scientist who puts the purity of measurement before the advancement of his career wouldn't get past the tenure committee.
And modern writers couldn't do real Constants And Variables even if they understood the concept, because it might feed the trolls. Heretics might start thinking in proper scientific terms about Holy Sacraments like lockdowns and distancing and ballgags. CRIMETHINK!
Those 1948 writers didn't realize they were the
last of a breed. In 1946 Deepstate began its multi-front war of total destruction, founding CIA and NSF and WHO and CDC to obliterate science and civilization.

Finally reading Machiavelli
I've been recommending Machiavelli for a long time.
I've been hammering repeatedly that "civics" classes and political thinkers shouldn't waste time on bizarre mythical delusions like constitutions and laws and elections. Instead they should use and modernize sources of hardass reality like Machiavelli and Parkinson.
I've read Parkinson deeply and repeatedly, but I've never read Machiavelli aside from citing some already cited familiar pieces.
Finally settled down to read the Prince. I skipped his specific personal advice to specific real princes, and stuck with the general parts.
Unsurprisingly, he's absolutely realistic and objective. He wastes no time on ideologies and laws and organization charts.
I was surprised by the SCIENTIFIC METHOD of the book. Machiavelli starts by tossing out the constants like ideology and religion and systems. Then he separates out all the real variables of PERSONALITY and runs a separate 'experiment' on each variable. What happens when a prince is more lenient or more strict with the people? More lenient or more strict with the courtiers? More generous or more stingy with the people? More generous or more stingy with the courtiers? More aggressive or more businesslike with foreign nations?
He forms a verbal graph or transfer function for each variable on its own.
The concluding chapter hasn't been overquoted, so maybe it's worth a quote. In this chapter he treats the biggest variable of all, the rotations and variations of the universe, aka Fortune.
It is unknown to me how many believe that worldly events are so governed by fortune and by God, that men cannot by their prudence change them, and that on the contrary there is no remedy whatever, and for this they may judge it to be useless to toil much about them, but let things be ruled by chance.
This opinion has been more believed in our day, from the great changes that have been seen, and are daily seen, beyond every human conjecture. [SOUNDS FUCKING FAMILIAR, DOESN'T IT?]
When I think about them at times, I am partly inclined to share this opinion. Nevertheless, that our freewill may not be altogether extinguished, I think it may be true that fortune is the ruler of half our actions, but that she allows the other half or a little less to be
governed by us. I would compare her to an impetuous river that, when turbulent, inundates the plains, ruins trees and buildings, removes earth from this side and places it on the other; every one flies before it, and everything yields to its fury without being able to oppose it.
And yet when it is quiet, men can make provision against it by dams and banks, so that when it rises it will either go into a canal or its rush will not be so wild and dangerous.
It happens similarly with fortune, which shows her power where no measures have been taken to resist her, and turns her fury where she knows that no dams or barriers have been made to hold her.
But limiting myself more to particular cases, I would point out how one sees a certain prince today fortunate and tomorrow ruined, without seeing that he has changed in character. I believe this arises in the first place from the causes that we have already discussed at length; that is to say, because the prince who bases himself entirely on fortune
is ruined when fortune varies.
I also believe that he is happy whose mode of proceeding accords with the needs of the times, and similarly he is unfortunate whose mode of proceeding is opposed to the times. For one sees that in those things which lead them to the aim that each one has in view, namely, glory and
riches, men proceed in various ways; one with circumspection, another with impetuosity, one by violence, another by cunning, one with patience, another with the reverse; and each by these diverse ways may arrive at his aim. One sees also two cautious men, one of whom succeeds
in his designs, and the other not, and in the same way two men succeed equally by different methods, one being cautious, the other impetuous, which arises only from the nature of the times, which does or does not conform to their method of proceeding.
HARDASS and perfectly accurate.
Expressed in my peculiar language: When you've built enough dams and stored enough material and human capital, you're free to act more impetuously. When you tear down dams and grain elevators, when you operate on debt and JIT, the floods of fortune will always be in control, and you won't be free to improvise or think or create.
Thinking of
balances and bridges, it would be interesting to see a counterpoise book written as advice for peasants. Separate out the same variables and graph the same transfer functions for the opposite side of the balance. When the prince is generous with the peasants, how should the peasants behave to maximize the generosity and encourage the prince? When the prince is murderous, how should the peasants minimize the damage and discourage the prince? Machiavelli sometimes describes how the peasants typically respond to the ruler's behavior, but he's not on our side.

Woke fuckheads have always been around.
Ascetic utopian reformers who need to
PURIFY their own bodies and PURIFY the world of all heresies and heretics and People We Don't Like.
That's the constant.
The variable is how the rest of society responds to these demons. Today's Cancel shit is the worst possible response, mechanically granting their every insane wish.
Here's a good example of a SANE response from 1944.
In this episode of 'It Pays to be Ignorant', Shirley Booth is the special guest. Later, of course, Booth became famous on TV as Hazel. In '44 she was typecast as a sassy Joisey Goil.
She announces that she has invaded the program on behalf of All American Womanhood, To Protest The Unfair And Inhumane Treatment Of Regular Panelist Lulu McConnell.
Booth: "The things you say to, and about, Miss McConnell, are a slight to American Womanhood."
Host: Well, Miss Booth, let me ask you, have you ever
met Miss McConnell?
Booth: No, but nobody could be as fat and homely and dumb as you say Miss McConnell is.
Host: I see. Well, that's Miss McConnell sitting there beside you.
Booth: Huh? Oh..... So it is..... Perhaps we were a little hasty.
The point is simple. Utopian fantasies and utopian indignation are harder to sustain when you're faced with plain reality.
Giving utopians a dose of plain old reality still works pretty well.

Okay, that's all. I'm officially an anti-vaxer.
From the start of the holocaust I tried to make a careful distinction between 'measures' that were proper parts of real EXPERIMENTALLY PROVED science, versus 'measures' that were demonic tools of total war and genocide.
I got the vax because I wanted to maintain some foolish notion of 'integrity'. Obey real science, disobey holocaust.
Now I'm done with 'integrity'. The 2nd shot of Moderna made me SICK for several days, and it seems to have changed my body's way of reacting to stimuli. The 2nd shot was June 9.
From previous blog post:
Second dose June 9 was noticeably worse, as many others have reported. One day of real misery, fever and chills. Pretty much done the second day, but still not feeling quite healthy.
A week after the second dose, an odd delayed reaction. I got a mosquito or spider bite on my leg. Bug bites always itch for a day then go away. This one grew into a six-inch red rash, which stayed for about a week before fading. THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN 71 YEARS OF BUG BITES.
And a month later (7/15)
I went into Holocaust Central for my annual prescription renewal theater. I've been doing this for 10 years. They always take some blood to satisfy their vampire urges. This year, for the first time, the blood test caused a bruise. Technicolor, lasted THREE WEEKS, finally faded out yesterday, August 5. THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN 10 YEARS OF THE SAME TEST. Constants and variables: Consistent with previous effects of vax, inconsistent with previous effects of the blood draw itself.
= = = = =
Today (8/6) another bug bite on my neck. This one is swelling up in a way that NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. So far it isn't red.
And of course there's a second factor. I was stupidly hoping that the vax might make a "legal" difference, might make it easier to demuzzle. Get the card, get privileges. That stupid hope was UNSURPRISINGLY dashed when Demon Inslee resumed full muzzling last week after exactly 35 days of partial "legality".
Psychopaths always do this. So there was no practical reason to get the shot after all.
That's it. I'm done. No more integrity, no more "legality". This vax is NOT THE SAME as real vaxes. I don't know what makes it so different, but it is NOT JUST A VAX. It's something else. The demons know it's something else, and they know it doesn't provide immunity against any real viruses.

Apologies to Jeffrey Tucker
The basic principle of science is
Don't trust. Verify.
Never take words as authority. Think in
Science As Entertainment mode. When you see a science article, treat it as an advertisement or attention grabber. "Hey! Look at this! I've found something really neat!" If you also think it's neat, verify it by your own experience, or your own observations, or your own experiments if possible.
Carver as always:
LOOK ABOUT YOU.
TAKE HOLD OF THE THINGS THAT ARE HERE.
TALK TO THEM.
LET THEM TALK TO YOU.
When Jeffrey Tucker called attention to the Michael Lewis book on the holocaust,
I was suspicious. Tucker cited one BIG FACT from the book, but seemed to dismiss the book as written from the wrong viewpoint. We need ALL THE FACTS, and if Lewis was bringing in a load of facts, his viewpoint shouldn't matter.
In 2020 I learned to follow Carver UNIVERSALLY, so I started with the hypothesis that Tucker was protecting his own turf.
Verify.
I bought the book (not from Amazon) and skimmed through it.
Tucker was exactly right, and I apologize for doubting him.
The book does have a few interesting facts, but it misses ALL the important points, totally ignores the inversion of science, and leaves out the 15 years of development between the 2005 initiative and the 2020 holocaust.
The book should have been titled
Why I am God
By Carter Mecher, as told to Michael Lewis.
Lewis doesn't know anything about science, so he didn't question or kick down any of the anti-science premises of the Mecher conspiracy.
Most notably, Mecher's plan was based on the notion that we fucked up the 1918 flu epidemic by NOT muzzling and NOT distancing and NOT lockdowning. We must get it right this time.
The facts instantly disprove this notion.
1. We tried all of those nasty tricks in 1918 and found that they didn't work. Our public health establishment was still operating IN science in 1918, and they were able to LEARN from experimental results.
2. The 1918 epidemic was a mix of virus and pneumococcus bacteria. Our scientists at the time didn't fully understand viruses, but they did fully understand bacteria, and they knew what they were seeing. MOST of the infections and deaths were from the bacteria. In 1918 WE DIDN'T HAVE ANTIBIOTICS against bacteria. Penicillin was discovered in 1928, and related antibiotics weren't really universal until WW2.
Fucking constants and fucking variables. The virus is a constant, but it wasn't the important factor in the 1918 deaths. The lockdown shit is a variable. It was tried AS A VARIABLE in 1918, and found to fail. After that, public health knew that lockdown shit didn't work. Bacteria, and defenses against bacteria, are two more variables. No bacteria in the 2020 illness, and even if the bacteria were present, we can handle them now.
Mecher deliberately skipped over those constants and variables and ASSERTED that lockdown shit would work this time, because Mecher said so.
Michelet as always:
Here lies Sprenger's real merit, which is beyond dispute. He is a fool, but an intrepid fool; boldly and unflinchingly he lays down the least acceptable doctrines. Another man would have tried to elude, attenuate, soften objections, —but this is not his way. Beginning on the first page, he sets down openly and displays one by one the natural, self-evident reasons there are for disbelieving the satanic miracles. This done, he adds coldly, "Merely so many heretic mistakes." And never pausing to refute the reasons given, he copies out the texts on the other side, St. Thomas Aquinas, the Bible, legends, canonists, and commentators. First he shows you what common sense has to say, then pulverises it by weight of authority.
The method is everywhere identical. Good common sense first of all, followed by a direct frontal attack, a downright, unhesitating negation of common sense. It would seem natural enough, for instance, to say that, love being in the soul already, it is hardly necessary to assume the mysterious intervention of the Evil One to be required. Is not this fairly self-evident? Not so, says Sprenger.

Constants and Variables 165, open-source Kuhn edition
"Social" "science" is either torture or trivia. Occasionally the trivia includes an interesting fact.
Constant:
This article simply repeats what every insider has known for many decades. Academia is a self-reinforcing superstar system. Kuhn said it best.
Variable: The article mentions that some countries DON'T follow Kuhn, which is a surprising observation.
It is also interesting to note that Lower Middle Income countries (LMICs) like India do not consist of many citation elites. This in turn leads to less publicity or attention on studies conducted in those countries.
This fits with an
oddity I've seen in the holocaust.
Only a few MDs and virologist types have dared to defend real science against the holocaust's total reversal of all logic and facts and science. MOST of those heroes have Indian names. This is true in US and Canada and Britain and Germany. I haven't been following other countries but wouldn't be surprised if it's the same there. I don't know what causes this correlation, but it's a STRONG correlation. Were scientists from India left out of the demonic circle of secrets and blackmail? Distrusted by Deepstate, or just forgotten?
Doubly interesting: India is the only place where caste is OPENLY AND EXPLICITLY recognized. Every society has strict caste rules, but everyone except India hides the rules.
Hidden rules are easy to manipulate. When a society runs on the vicious myth of meritocracy, high-status people can pretend that their place is justified by hard work.

Say the black, do the red
Quora question:
Do you believe the World Economic Forum?
Correct answer: BELIEVE is irrelevant when we're dealing with COMMANDS. WEF gives commands, not statements.
Facts and commands have been conflated in recent times, as part of the weaponizing of Science.
Written texts formerly had ways of distinguishing statements and commands. A statement can be provable, or can be the object of faith and belief. A command can't be proved or disproved or believed or disbelieved. It can only be obeyed or disobeyed.
Roman liturgy, written as a script for the priest, traditionally used red ink** for the commands and black ink for the words to be read aloud. Say the black, do the red.
Bookkeeping used black and red with the same meaning. Black represents money we've received, which is a passive fact. Red represents debt, money we need to pay, which is an active command.
Stage plays didn't use colors, but often used brackets to surround the commands to the stagehands. Change the set here, make sound effects here, drop the curtain here. The actor's speech is outside of brackets.
HTML follows the stage tradition. Everything between angle brackets is commands to the browser's stagehand. Lay out a frame with this shape, set font to bold here, play a sound effect here, make a new line here. Everything outside the brackets is text to be spoken by the browser's actor.
= = = = =
Key point: Science was NOT meant to be commands. Science was all black ink, all outside the brackets. A research finding is just a passive fact, a saying, which can be checked and proved or disproved. Or the author may say that the question can't be determined either way.
A proper research paper can be seen as black and red
for other researchers. Methods are red. Here's what you should do if you want to check and replicate. Data and discussion are black. Here's what we saw, and here's what we think about it.
A research paper is not supposed to be commands to the public.
Starting in 1946 with the founding of NSF and WHO and CDC, science has been turned into commands. 2020 completed the process. Science is all red, no black.
WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TREAT ANY SCIENTIFIC TEXT AS BLACK. ALL SCIENTIFIC TEXT IS RED.
Fuhrer Fauci said it straightforwardly.
I am science. Do as you're told.
We need to understand what has happened. We need to return science to its former role as
ENTERTAINMENT.
ENTERTAINMENT IS THE OPPOSITE OF SECRETS.
ENTERTAINMENT IS THE OPPOSITE OF GENOCIDE.
LAUGHTER IS THE OPPOSITE OF DEATH.
= = = = =
** Language footnote:
The history of red ink in liturgy is interesting! It started with carpenters using red ochre to mark "cut here".

Random auto thought about names
Naming is innate. All humans give specific names to each other, and nearly all human cultures use two names.
The order varies, and the non-individual name has a few different flavors.
Flavor 1: Family or clan. All Chinese secondary names are family.
Flavor 2: Function or character. John Carpenter, Horace Hazard (=gambler), Wilhelm Langbein, Ernest Runs-With-Wolf.
Flavor 3: Location. In the upper castes this merges with family, as in German
von and French or Spanish
de. When you're from the castle of Wolf, you belong to the Wolf clan.
Constant:
Cars have a similar two-part name. A family name like Chrysler or Ford, and a given name like Pacifica or F150. This has been true from the start.
Variable:
Cars have a third element, which is mostly missing from human names. Cars always have a vintage or generation. Ford Fairlane is meaningless unless you add the vintage. A 1955 Ford Fairlane and a 1963 Ford Fairlane are different types of cars.
Some cars have a more explicit generation indicator that spans several years, as in Packard's 4th Series or Lincoln's Mark VI.
Among humans, only the clan names ever contained a generation. English and Teutonic son/sohn, Irish O', Scottish Mac, Arabic Bin. In the original small villages where everyone knew all families, these son names were unique. Now they've degenerated (heh) into permanent clan names.
The sequence of Senior / Junior / III / IV also denotes generations in the same way as Packard or Lincoln, but this is a relatively rare practice, not even universal among aristocrats.
Only Iceland retains the original specified generation. Thorsdottir is the physical daughter of actual Thor, not the 156th descendant from some long-lost Thor.
No human naming scheme has ever included a vintage, even though birth year is important for many legal purposes.

Tacking on a Plymouth oddity. From '49 through '54, Plymouth sold a significant number of 'chassis and cab' units. About 2000 each year, and finally 5000 in '54. The practice stopped in '55. What were these for? Nobody built hearses on Plymouth chassis. If someone wanted a low-priced limo with Chrysler parts, DeSoto was filling that niche nicely. Plymouths were popular as taxis in cities that didn't require limos, but I've seen plenty of them in movies and pictures. They're strictly standard, not extended or coachbuilt. Possibly these were CKD for export, but the book that gave these lists normally separates out export items.

More backstory, still no story
Tucker summarizes the 'backstory' behind Mecher.
Starting in 2005 inside Bush's regime, a few
burning ascetic sleepless psychopaths worked together to plot a revolution. They were inside the 'bioterror' department of the government, where Mecher threw the switch on his demonic plan in March 2020.
Okay... but still nothing. Lots of radical plans to ruin the world are hashed out in various parts of government and NGOs all the time. Many of them are equally horrible.
This is unfortunately normal.
Radical plans don't become A WORLDWIDE TOTAL HOLOCAUST on their own. They require a huge number of helpers, who are convinced and cultized by the radicals, plus a huge number of lower-echelon workers who are blackmailed into silence.
This particular plan involved ALL THE FUCKING GOVERNMENTS IN THE WORLD EXCEPT TANZANIA. It mobilized and cultized and secretized at least a million people in every county and city of the world.
How did it grow from three typical demons to a million committed holocausters, without any complaints along the way? In fifteen years of development, many of the helpers would have retired or changed jobs, losing the blackmail leverage. Why didn't we hear from any of them?
And why aren't we hearing any of the story NOW from the people in power who turned away from it? Noem never collaborated, and several Dixie governors turned away early and firmly. They weren't killed and weren't blackmailed into submission. They have been actively disproving the whole scheme for a full year, and still haven't been removed or killed.
That's the puzzle. The threats may have sounded serious, but GUTSY leaders have shown that the threats weren't implemented. Is there still a serious threat against talking? If so, why allow the disproof but not the discussion?

Constants and Variables 164, who hates edition
Totally random note from a bored and sleepy mind wandering through websites.
Among 'intellectual' writers, who hates Islam?
Catholics and Protestants and atheists are constantly slamming Islam itself in all sorts of stupid and bigoted ways, spreading bizarre delusions. Atheists are probably the worst.
[Confession: I was in that crowd before I turned off the TV in 2011. Again I deeply apologize for 10 years of bigotry.]
But: Jewish writers don't hate Islam at all. They treat it objectively and sometimes sympathetically.
Paradox? Israel has been fighting Palestinians since 1948, and occasionally fought other Arab countries.
But: Palestinians are largely Christian. For a long time Israel was allied with Persia, then after the revolution Israel decided to hate Persia.
In other words, Israel's wars and hatreds are ethnic and economic, not religious.

Switched and witched
One aspect of the holocaust deserves more attention. I touched on it briefly before, and it's becoming more obvious now.
Testing and wellness laid the foundation for a fake "epidemic".
Heroic martyr Magufuli understood this from the start.
He disproved the fraud at the start when he showed that the official "virus" tests came out positive for samples from a goat, a papaya, and a quail.

I'd been
growing suspicious of
wellness for a while before this shit started.
Wellness switched the whole basis of medicine from patient-driven to clinic-driven. And wellness also WITCHED the basis of medicine.
Before wellness, you went to the doctor when you felt something was wrong. A competent doctor could distinguish fake reports by intuition, and a chemical or histological test could verify fake reports or hypochondria.
In audiology, the OAE test is conclusive because it's completely unfakable, completely uncontrollable by willpower.
After wellness,
all tests are performed all the time whether you think you're sick or not. You're screened and MRI'd and colonoscoped regularly, often doing serious damage for no purpose. If you're stupid enough to use a cellphone, you're tested every second of your life.
The central tenet of witch hunting, as per Sprenger and Kremer and Fauci, is that
you are not competent to know whether you're evil. Your own claims of innocence are PROOF of witchery. Your own sense of health is PROOF of "science denial". "Asymptomatic" is the most dangerous form of "illness" now.
Before wellness, you made the claim, and the test could prove or disprove your claim. After wellness, the test makes the claim, and YOU HAVE NO WAY OF DISPROVING THE CLAIM AT ALL. The test can be fake, and CDC is finally admitting just now that a huge number of them were fake. The testing procedure was cranked up and down to achieve the desired result, which is LETHALLY BAD SCIENCE by any standard.
No matter what you say and do, the inquisitors can turn it against you. They own all the testing equipment and clinics and doctors and prescribing authority and courts and legislatures and presidents and governors and mayors.
It's one against all, and the one has zero chance.
= = = = =
Credit footnote: This realization was triggered by two things.
1. I've noticed that the most zealous Fauci cultists are
'medicalized' people who had already surrendered their own decision power to constant wellness testing. They take all the tests and get all the surgeries when ordered. Do as you're told.
2. An episode of 'FBI in peace and war' about a fake antique fraud. Owners of valuable collections have their paintings and furniture checked, refinished and reupholstered regularly, to maintain the value and keep the insurer happy. The scammer provides this maintenance service. Instead of fixing and returning the valuables, he substitutes an excellent reproduction and fences the original. The collector isn't alert for fraud
because the checking is routine.Labels: Constants and Variables, endless hell
