In this podcast Yang gets into a more substantial discussion of the problems, but his solution is still trivial.

After running an actual campaign he knows how the sausage is made, and he's doing a great service to the public by telling us about the process in detail.

Partisan followers of My Network and My Leader and My Party are generally unaware of the internal mechanism. They believe that My Leader is acting on his own human desires and heartfelt needs. In fact My Leader is a mechanical puppet reading a script. The script writers are the real leaders.

Interviewer Yascha Mounk asks why the candidates always listen to the NGOs and consultants, who rarely represent actual people. Yang didn't have an answer. Yang just wants to change voting systems, which will NOT make any difference.

The answer is simple. Share Value vs Profit. Same in politics as in business.

Big corporations all sound the same and move in unison because their value loop is solely connected to a few billionaires. Politicians all sound the same and move in unison because their value loop is solely connected to THE SAME FEW BILLIONAIRES. Bloomberg, Bezos, Soros.

The solution in both cases is to restore the profit motive. Small businesses like a dog groomer or a landscaper can't afford to alienate customers with irrelevant political crap. They have to provide a good product for a good price. They have to listen to the customer. If I want short grass, the landscaper can't decide to leave the grass long for Gaian Biodiversity**.

Politics used to be more like dog groomers. Local politicians did DIRECT BUSINESS with their customers. PAY FOR VALUE. You could pay to get zoning permission or more police coverage or a streetlight on your block.

The "Good Government" movement gradually eliminated the RETAIL BUSINESS of politics, turning all politicians toward NYC. When you aren't allowed to accept INDIVIDUAL PAYMENT for INDIVIDUAL SERVICE, you have to get money somewhere, so you make WHOLESALE DEALS with GIANT DEMONS who don't represent your own customers in any way.

** Footnote: Unfortunately the Gaian Laws and the Viran Laws are specifically targeted at those small "non-essential" businesses, removing their unique power to listen to customers. The pest controller can't use effective poisons, and can't deal with "protected" species, because EPA. In California the landscaper can't use gas-powered mowers and trimmers because EPA. And half of all small businesses were closed permanently because "virus".

Madman Lincoln advised his Deepstate tyrant successors to fool some of the people etc.

I've been noticing the rule for a long time, and it's especially strong in the current hoax.

I was fooled by 9/11 but not by the "virus". Most of the people who were NOT fooled by 9/11 are fully on board with the "virus".

These two #WholeOfSociety hoaxes are nearly disjunct, mutually exclusive, in their selection of suckers.

Assassinations and shooting wars and 9/11 are conjunct for obvious reasons. People with real experience in war know the difference between real wars and fake wars. I don't have experience in war and guns, so I'm easily fooled in this area.

Gaia and "Virus" are conjunct. People with real experience in science know the difference between real science and fake science. The exact same people buy both of these hoaxes, and many of the worst tyrants smoothly shifted from Gaian genocide to Viran genocide. Same agencies, same methods.

Noam Chomsky is today's example. He was a careful and consistent exposer of Deepstate hoaxes in the area of war and surveillance. Now he says antivaxers should be slaughtered.

So we have two separate classes, war suckers and science suckers, at least partly based on personal experience. But as Lincoln advised, there are also people who will climb on EVERY bandwagon and cheerfully join the slaughter. These people aren't really fooled, they're just demons.

  Both were flipped
Continuing from here. In 1974 Suskind suggested a new Hippocratic Oath for engineers that would have made things worse SOONER.

Thinking about the parallel:

The practical oath, tradition plus Hippocrates, has been flipped upside down for BOTH doctors and engineers.

Before the flip: First do no harm. Hold steady. Stick with EXPERIMENTALLY PROVED SOLUTIONS.

After the flip: Do ONLY harm. Change everything all the time. NEVER do anything that is known to work.

Civil engineers (bridges and sewers) haven't been fully flipped yet, but they are mostly paid to do harm. Environmentalism forces them to tear down dams and bridges, and to build flood generators instead of flood controllers.

Software engineers (the main target of Suskind) were specifically flipped by Larry Ellison and Google. The new slogans are Move fast and break things and Let the fires burn. These are perfectly opposite to the tradition of engineering.

And I don't need to repeat what happened to the former "medical" profession in 2020. Move fast and kill everyone.

In short, both professions traded a Hippocratic Oath for a Psychopathic Oath.

Later: Here's yet another 'open letter' from the tiny fraction of doctors who have NOT flipped. This declaration emphasizes restoring the spirit of the oath:

RESOLVED, that the physician-patient relationship must be restored. The very heart of medicine is this relationship, which allows physicians to best understand their patients and their illnesses, to formulate treatments that give the best chance for success, while the patient is an active participant in their care.

RESOLVED, that the political intrusion into the practice of medicine and the physician/patient relationship must end. Physicians, and all health care providers, must be free to practice the art and science of medicine without fear of retribution, censorship, slander, or disciplinary action, including possible loss of licensure and hospital privileges, loss of insurance contracts and interference from government entities and organizations – which further prevent us from caring for patients in need. More than ever, the right and ability to exchange objective scientific findings, which further our understanding of disease, must be protected.

RESOLVED, that physicians must defend their right to prescribe treatment, observing the tenet FIRST, DO NO HARM. Physicians shall not be restricted from prescribing safe and effective treatments. These restrictions continue to cause unnecessary sickness and death. The rights of patients, after being fully informed about the risks and benefits of each option, must be restored to receive those treatments.

Of course none of this will happen. The rulers are enjoying the game. Endless orgasms. Psychopaths never give up power after they've tasted blood and turned feral. Still, I suppose it's nice to see that a few thousand members of a profession have NOT turned into monsters.

The hundred leading signers are not the 'regular crowd'. I don't see any familiar names. They're currently employed by a variety of clinics and universities, which makes their action GUTSY but still meaningless. Nothing will change, but other professionals may gain a bit of courage when they see someone in a similar position, or someone they know, speaking out and not being fired or assassinated.

From the fucking start it was clear that only MASSIVE UNION STRIKES BY PEOPLE WHO COUNT could make a difference. Recently a real strike by Southwest Airlines workers caused their demonic management to back down on vax mandates. As long as the opposition is scattered, it's meaningless.

  Shocked collaboration
Googling to find some better insights on rentalization, found instead a 2018 UN document on "climate". Mostly the same shit Deepstate has been spewing since 1975.

The document mentioned rentalization as one of the solutions to "climate", but one phrase opened a wide window into the long-term nightmares of demons.

Here are four scenarios, and there's no doubt which one UN wants:

Scenarios have been developed to portray clusters of the selected critical uncertainties that bear on the topic of investment in climate-compatible infrastructure. Each has a core characterization and a combination of critical uncertainties.

1. Open Internationalism: emphasizes largely open markets, a powerful global corporate community, strong citizen action, and ongoing international cooperation.

2. Assertive States: emphasizes strong state influence over domestic and global economies, corporateinterests that are more responsive to policy imperatives, and long-term policy objectives that take priority over shorter-term and more immediate citizen interests.

3. Patchwork: emphasizes a global economy made up of more autonomous entities, whether states, regions and/or sub-state actors, shifting demand for infrastructure, and strengthening investment in local, more closed economies.

4. Shocked Collaboration: emphasizes the effects of major shocks to the global system, whether recessions, weather events, or security-related disruptions, resulting in more ambitious collaboration involving public and private actors.

Elsewhere the document mentions that the shocks may be "exogenous or policy-driven", and again we know which is preferred.

SHOCKED COLLABORATION is the only thing Deepstate wants. We see it over and over and over. 2020 was the biggest and most evil by an infinite measure, and I'm sure the next one will be even bigger and more totally holocaustal.

What was the first** policy-driven Shocked Collaboration after Deepstate's lethal rebirth in 1946?

Sputnik.

It wasn't an exogenous shock. There was no reason for US or Russia to send men into space. 50 years later, we haven't gone back to the moon or beyond the moon, and the space race didn't improve technology at all. Zero consequences, unless you consider Tang to be worth the trillion-dollar expenditure

Computing was steadily improving, and electronics was steadily miniaturizing, since 1890. Space didn't change the shape of those curves.

Sputnik was a policy-driven shock that led to a #WholeOfSociety collaboration. Russia beat us, so we needed to mobilize everyone to beat them next time.

Commerce picked up the theme immediately, indicating a carefully prepared Shock. From radio trade journals in Nov and Dec '57:









Note especially the astronaut in the last ad. The first actual man in space was four years later, and again he was Russian. Oops.

We didn't beat them the next time, because AS FUCKING USUAL we Unsolved all the problems. The Unsolving was most dramatic in education, as I've hammered hundreds of times. We abandoned useful math, switching to brain-destroying Set Theory.

We had just finished defeating Japan, who had been occupying Korea since 1905. We wanted to keep things stable, but Mao threatened to undo our success. We didn't mobilize our media and culture; there was very little propaganda. The military knew the war was unwinnable, and Ike carried the day by speaking FOR the military. He promised to pull out, got elected, and pulled out. Arguably Korea marked the last time our supposed 'checks and balances' really worked.

  Not blinded by stats!
Here's a refreshingly HARDASS critique of the FRAUD called statistics, in a mainstream science mag. Bruce Bower tells the history of the 'p-value' that allegedly measures significance. Unsurprisingly it began shortly after WW2, like all the other frauds and crimes of science.

By calculating just one number from their experimental results, called a P value, researchers could now deem those results “statistically significant.” That was all it took to claim — even if mistakenly — that an interesting and powerful effect had been demonstrated. The idea took off, and soon legions of researchers were reporting statistically significant results.

Bower states the solution clearly:

Keep it simple, Loftus advised. Remember that a picture is worth a thousand reckonings of statistical significance. In that spirit, he recommended reporting straightforward averages to compare groups of volunteers in a psychology experiment. Graphs could show whether individuals’ scores covered a broad range or clumped around the average, enabling a calculation of whether the average score would likely change a little or a lot in a repeat study. In this way, researchers could evaluate, say, whether volunteers scored better on a difficult math test if first allowed to write about their thoughts and feelings for 10 minutes, versus sitting quietly for 10 minutes.

Graphs, graphs, graphs. Let readers SEE what's there. Don't smash the graphs into one number that collapses the time axis.

Calibrating: I played the p-value game once. I wrote some rather neat software for one of the speech grad students at Penn State. She wanted to try computers in teaching foreign languages. (This was 1988; sound handling was still a new trick and an expensive option on computers.) She used the software with a fairly large number of students, and taught the same words the old-fashioned way with a control group. She got ambiguous results, which isn't surprising. Tech is NOT magic. The old-fashioned way is often better! As the deadline for her thesis got closer, she wondered if I could use a neural net to reprocess the results. I did, and the significance looked better that way.

I'm proud of making the sample-and-compare software, which was original at the time. I'm not proud of playing the p game.

  Reprint on emerging vs settled science
Time for a reprint from 14 fucking hellish months ago. This particular distinction seems to be coming up again. I had a rare clear thought on the subject in June 2020.

It's been clear from the start of the "virus" coup that the Public Death Officers are doing ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING to eliminate immunity. They know how it really works, so they don't miss a trick in their wicked use of their own skills for mass murder.

I just noticed a sneaky verbal trick.

Counting "cases" or "infections" is an explicit reversal of real knowledge and science. In fact an "infection" is an INOCULATION.

When a basically healthy person encounters a virus, the immune system reads the particle, checks against its intelligent knowledge of existing immunities, and sends some T-cells to eject the invader. The system then adds this virus to its library of known enemies. This is INOCULATION. Vaccines are extra inoculations, helping us to encounter viruses early. We formerly understood this as part of regular scientific literacy.

From Jules Michelet's 1904 book on the inquisitors and witch hunters:

The method is everywhere identical. Good common sense first of all, followed by a direct frontal attack, a downright, unhesitating negation of common sense. It would seem natural enough, for instance, to say that, love being in the soul already, it is hardly necessary to assume the mysterious intervention of the Evil One to be required. Is not this fairly self-evident? Not so, says Sprenger.

By redefining INOCULATION as a bad thing, the Public Death Officers have redefined immunity itself as a bad thing.

Immunity is the new cancer.

Another word trick is EMERGING SCIENCE. Central Death Command now claims that masks are proved by EMERGING SCIENCE. In the former extinct world of REAL science, EMERGING science was called by another word. EMERGING science used to be called PSEUDOSCIENCE. When 300 years of experience have led consistently to a solid conclusion about a fact or procedure, a sudden new contrary claim REQUIRES EXTRAORDINARY PROOF, as old Sagan used to say. I'm sure he's an Unperson now.

We can certainly examine the contrary claim. Occasionally a new claim turns out to be right when exploring unfamiliar territory. In this case we know for sure that it's wrong, because viruses are thoroughly familiar. In either case we CAN'T use the contrary claim as the basis for policy or medical practice unless and until it's proved just as solidly as the older belief. Especially when the policy is murder, and especially when the monsters who are pushing the new claim are holocaustal psychopaths.

But now we must ruin our own immunity because EMERGING SCIENCE.

This fits the Michelet pattern. Before the "virus" coup, the "global warming" coup simply lied about the validity of their pseudoscience. They called their pseudoscience "settled science" to imply that it was just like the real conclusions of real science. The new use of EMERGING SCIENCE openly admits that the pseudoscience is fake by all normal standards of real science. The open admission is part of the murder. It's AGGRESSIVELY UNFAIR, intentionally GRINDING OUR FACES IN SHIT to prove that the psychopaths have TOTAL CONTROL OF OUR MINDS. They openly BRAG that they're lying, and we can't do a fucking thing about it.

  Everybody is in the Mecher act
The Carter Mecher script is now used by all corporations and governments for all purposes.

Yesterday Avista (the local Gaian share-value electric company) sent out a "suggestion" at noon that people should avoid using unnecessary power during these especially hot days.

At 1PM, large outages started to appear. The automatic call-center said that these were caused by LIGHTNING STRIKES, which is fantastic and impossible.

Later in the day, Avista acknowledged that these weren't lightning strikes but deliberate temporary brownouts.

Today we have this "explanation":

Avista acknowledges the challenges created by the unplanned outages that impacted its customers throughout the afternoon and evening Monday, June 28 as a result of the extreme temperatures and significantly increased usage, and the company has made plans for proactive and targeted protective outages to occur on Tuesday, June 29. Tuesday’s outages are a protective measure intended to minimize the customer impact, alleviate strain on the electric system and prevent extensive damage to the system that could result in prolonged outages. “Our top priority is to provide reliable and safe energy for our customers, and we recognize Monday’s customer outages were a challenge for a number of reasons,” said Dennis Vermillion, Avista president and CEO. “While we plan for the summer weather, the electric system experienced a new peak demand, and the strain of the high temperatures impacted the system in a way that required us to proactively turn off power for some customers. This happened faster than anticipated,” Vermillion said. “Moving forward, we’re committed to reducing the length of outages and supporting our customers during this time with proactive information to manage through the protective outages that are expected this week. We appreciate their patience, understanding and ongoing partnership as we manage through the heat wave together.”

All customers who experienced outages on Monday due to the heat should be restored Monday night. Targeted and protective outages Tuesday, June 29 Avista anticipates that many of those customers who experienced outages on Monday will experience targeted, protective outages on Tuesday, June 29. Planned, targeted and protective outages will be targeted during the hours of 1 and 8 p.m. and are expected to be about one hour in length. Some customers may experience more than one outage with no less than one hour in between outages. Customers can expect to receive a notification from Avista sometime Tuesday morning, prior to the outage.

Following the Mecher script verbatim. The same pattern as the lockdowns and muzzles.

1. Shock and awe. Strike suddenly without warning.

2. Give blatantly crazy reasons for the action. Viruses, lightning strikes.

3. Blame the victim. This happened because you weren't distancing or conserving enough. We told you what you were supposed to do, a whole hour before we started punishing you for disobedience.

4. Specifically target ordinary working people. The outages are all in working-class parts of town. Rich areas are immune.

5. The monsters who make the rules never obey the rules.

This is how psychopaths work.

Sidenote: As with the "virus", people with broader experience can see the craziness. I grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma, where long stretches of 100s are common. Nearly everyone had air conditioning, versus about half of Spokane. We NEVER had blackouts or outages in hot weather. Actual lightning would sometimes trip a breaker, but it was restored immediately and automatically. We did get one major outage from an icestorm in the winter of '73, because the ice pulled down the wires.

Experience tells us that real public health CAN HANDLE respiratory viruses without doing crazy shit.

Experience tells us that a real power company CAN HANDLE this type of load if it wants to, and if it builds and maintains the infrastructure.

I looked back again, specifically to Oct and Nov 2005, around the same time as the Venkayya event mentioned by Jeffrey Tucker.

From a Nov 2005 discussion of superstitions:

Two prime examples: Global Warming and Bird Flu. Both of these, like all superstitions, begin with a limited set of valid observations. Global warming starts from the unquestionable fact that the last decade has been warmer -- at least in urban areas -- than most decades in living memory. Bird flu starts from a genuinely fatal disease affecting third-world chicken farmers and butchers. But both of these superstitions proceed boldly into raw fraud and tyranny, based solely on somebody's desire to infect the world with fear.

The global warming superstition tries to claim that increased CO2 is the cause of our relatively warm decade, despite piles of long-term data showing that CO2 is a LAGGING variable, not a LEADING variable. Whatever it is that drives our heat cycles -- most likely solar variation and volcanos -- it increases earth temperature BEFORE it increases CO2.

The bird flu superstition is not quite so bizarrely loony, but it takes an actual disease and carries it through two stages of pure speculation. What if the virus mutates into a form that can be transferred between humans? What if the virus also becomes wildly contagious? Those are not demonstrably wrong, but they are low-probability events, and when you require two low-prob events to happen together, you're betting on a loooooooooooong shot.

Now we know that Bush Junior was the SOMEBODY who desired to infect the world with fear.

The project was already beginning its rehearsals with the 'bird flu' panic. What if the virus mutates and becomes supercontagious? Prime elements of the 2020 holocaust fraud.

Bush's phrase whole-society plan is unfamiliar. Decided to look it up. Not much from Google. Seems to be mainly British, and mainly used by Gaian types. Sustainable development, global warming, biodiversity. Here's one example. So Bush was solidly inside the Gaian church. No surprise there. It's been perfectly clear from the start that the "virus" is a smooth continuation and expansion of the "climate" panic. Greta said KILL GRANNY, and we obeyed.

Oops and Wow. Switching from "whole-society" to "whole-of-society" changed the search entirely. "Whole-of-society" is EVERYTHING. It's the core concept of the holocaust. It seems to have originated in UN, and now it's in all governments and NGOs and corporations. Everyone is calling for a WoS approach to everything, from "climate" to "virus" to "cybercrime".

The earliest item I can find quickly is this 2012 piece called 'Transcending Borders, a WoS approach to human, animal, and ecosystem health', by the chief Public Death Officer of Quebec. Presented at Davos.

Another where's the guild question. In this case I'm not really puzzled by the absence of a guild response because I know exactly how and when the guild was subverted and flipped. It happened 20 years ago.

The current holocaust is based HEAVILY on cheating with software.

The use of software to create and expand a fake crisis began with the Carbon Cult, with Mann's fake hockey stick models showing exponential increase of CO2 "pollution".

A more visible example for outsiders was VW's diesel cheating. Diesel is intrinsically and incurably MORE DIRTY THAN GASOLINE, but the Carbon Cult flipped the comparison and redefined diesel as clean because VW bribed them to flip. VW then used software to fake the numbers. The control computer in each car sensed when the car was connected to an official test rig, and outputted artifically low numbers.

Same thing with the "virus". Exponential models can't possibly represent reality because reality is never exponential. Governments use the models because governments want to kill everyone. Software processes the "cases", and HIPAA prevents us from checking the "cases". Even if the "cases" were honestly counted, "cases" are THE WRONG FUCKING MEASUREMENT. Just as with diesel vs gasoline, the holocausters have flipped medicine upside down, redefining "cases" as dirty.

The proper MEANING of "cases" isn't in the models, so we don't get to hear it.

From a modern perspective it seems obvious that ABSTRACT software makes cheating easier, but this total misuse wasn't always normal. There was a guild spirit in software that tried to protect the craft from misuse and cheating.

When did it change? 2000. Dotcom. Cheaters took over the biz.

Computing began with the government census, at a time when the government wanted accuracy. From 1890 to 1990 software mainly served corporate accounting. Computers were seen as fancy adding machines, and they were REQUIRED to be strictly honest.

Bookkeepers and their adding machines were the honest end of the system. After the bookkeeper had carefully verified the accuracy of the double-entry ledger, the accountant walked in and arbitrarily moved numbers around to cheat on taxes. This may be unfamiliar to outsiders, but it was standard procedure. You can see the setup powerfully in this Racket Squad episode.

The machine was the honest end, and the human accountant was the criminal.

The dotcommers reversed the paradigm. They used the software itself to create false impressions of their wealth and corporate solidity, then used software to manipulate the market, and had no compunction at all about ruining lives to EXPONENTIALLY increase their wealth.

Later question: More specifically, how did software switch in the public mind from an adding machine to an authority?

In the Racket Squad episode, the boss tells the bookkeeper to release an arbitrary and dishonest set of numbers. The bookkeeper refuses. Boss says "Are you calling me a liar?" Bookkeeper says "No, but my adding machine doesn't lie either." In that situation we can see clearly who's lying.

The trick seems to be AI. Most people don't understand that AI is still an adding machine. The AI hype by both commercial and governmental propagandists has persuaded us that AI can make its own decisions independent of human input, while remaining impartial and mechanical.

Can't have it both ways. The trick conflates the demons who are writing the intentionally bad predictive models with the computer that doesn't lie. Because the DECISION POWER has been falsely transferred to the computer, we don't blame the demons who actually DECIDED to write counterfactual and unrealistic math models.

If most people learned math in the context of job-related problems and projects, they would understand the stages of this process better. They'd know that the PROGRAMMER can lie, even if the CPU doesn't lie.

BBC is memoryholing the 2009 Climate hack with a "documentary" showing that Mann et al were the unsung heroes of "science". Good timing, now that "science" has been fully and finally flipped into pure holocaust.

Orwell wouldn't be a bit surprised. He worked at BBC for a couple years, and derived most of Winston Smith's job from what he learned at BBC.

Now this is INTERESTING.

Sequential pictures show fungus-like objects on Mars, growing and spreading and 'crusting' just like puffballs on earth.

These are convincingly lifelike in appearance.

Another article "debunks" the claim by pointing out that the claimer has been trying for quite a while to see life on Mars, and isn't NASA. Those are irrelevant. A fact is usually discovered by somebody who was looking for it, and NASA's credibility is trashed after decades of Gaian genocide.

The "debunker" says We have mountains of data showing the conditions of Mars are not conducive to life as we know it. Violently false. Life as we know it flourishes in conditions much worse than Mars.

Even worse, the "debunker" tells us that viruses and immunity are pseudoscience, and Fauci is science.

Murderer.

Simple fact: The fungus claim can't be settled without a chemical sniffer. Visual impressions are evocative, but these particular forms could be 'snow-rollers' or growing crystals.

"Debunking" by a vicious murderous liar, who doesn't even bother to question the pictures, tends to raise the credibility of the fungus claim, but doesn't prove it.

These objects are more decisively lifelike to my eyes.

  Confusion to the enemies
The new 'Persuasion' website on Substack is trying to mute the harangues and lectures and condescension from Satan.

This article is nominally about Google creating 'eco-friendly' routes for drivers, but the author is really pleading for less screeching.

Paternalistic actions by corporations, often built on these heuristics, can also have unexpected consequences. Epicurious, the food and cooking website, recently decided to stop publishing new recipes with beef to promote sustainability. But performative actions like this can actually create a backlash against the very cause they are promoting. People simply resent being manipulated, which can turn them off to environmental causes more broadly.

Correct. Teaching and selling by example ALWAYS works better than teaching and selling by lecture. Equally true of teaching math, selling cars, and selling religion.

Create a living example, or a living lab experiment, or a living demonstration of the product. Make the example available. ALLOW the student or buyer to EXPERIENCE the skill or religion or product. No screeching necessary.

This isn't new. Wisdom has ALWAYS advised teaching by example.

Consider the Mormons. You never see a lecture or troll or screech by LDS types online. They're smarter than most of us (including me). Mormons just live their ordinary happy lives. The neighbors NOTICE a happy and functional family, with no drug problems or misbehaving kids, and the neighbors then NOTICE that the functional family is LDS.

That's real persuasion.

Fortunately the Gaians and Faucians aren't going to listen to this good advice. They have total demonic power, and they're fully committed to persuasion at the point of a carbon-neutral gun, or persuasion by a carbon-neutral muzzle. Two kinds of muzzle, same result. Physical compliance plus total rejection of the idea and total STUBBORN adoption of opposite ideas.

In this case the opposite ideas are sane and normal and genuinely scientific, so the result is good for our minds and deadly for our bodies.

  Opening the doors again
Speaking of Fairness Doctrine in science, here's an unusually fair historical piece from Physics Today. It treats unfashionable views and unfashionable cultures with fairness and respect.

I've been lobbying for a return to astrology as science. This article goes even farther, pointing out that astrology did a good job of predicting weather for hundreds of years.

Astrometeorology was developed by Islamic scientists, then picked up by Euros in the 1400s and developed farther. Almanacs continued to mix planetary patterns and seasons, and some may still do it.

Islamicate astrometeorologists were the first to replace the ancient practice of observing only short-term signs, such as clouds and the flight of birds, to predict weather. They based their action on the hypothesis that weather is caused by the movements of planets and mediated by regional and seasonal climate conditions. Improved calculations of planetary orbits and updated geographical and meteorological information made the new science possible and compelling.

The prospect of acquiring reliable weather forecasts, closely linked to predictions of coming trends in human health and agricultural production, made the new meteorology attractive in Christian Europe too. Considerable pride shines through medieval Christian accounts of the weather questions that they could now start to answer. Central among them was one that classical meteorologists had failed to figure out: How can weather vary so much from one year to the next when the seasons are caused by regular, repeating patterns produced by Earth’s spherical shape and its interactions with the Sun?

How did it work? Some of the details are lost, but:

Astrometeorologists noted that the angular relationships between planets were important for determining their mutual effects. Planets facing one another across the zodiac were negatively related; an angle of 45° was also problematic and likely to produce an atmospheric disturbance. However, planets at 60° or 120° would interact more positively and produce more moderate weather. When planets were close together, the intensity of their effects would increase depending on the natures and placements of the planets involved.

In other words, plain old vector algebra.

One phrase caught my eye:

The techniques in al-Kindi’s method required that forecasters confidently judge which factors would have the greatest effects and for how long, and they accepted that experience was crucial in making a successful prediction. Experts put their trusted methods on record for the benefit of others. Especially influential was al-Kindi’s application of the concept known as “opening of the doors.” The treatises do not explain the phrase, but it hints that rain was caused by an almost physical change in the atmosphere, driven by specific combinations of planets and their movements in relation to one another.

Here's the Ridhwan clock, designed by and for those Islamic forecasters, combining science with religion and entertainment. By some descriptions, the upper dial rotated seasonally to show the current arrangement of constellations. I didn't try to animate that part.



Each hour opened a door revealing the number of the hour. The 12 houses behind the doors may have dispensed something to the priests or people. (The balls transferred to the birds were stacked up like a vending machine, so similar devices for the little houses would have been possible.)

HOW did planetary position control our weather? The astrometeorologists were correct given the state of their knowledge:

Astrologers believed that the planets and the fixed stars, including those making up the constellations to which the houses of the zodiac were linked, had special affinities with individual elements and qualities. Those qualities determined the nature of the effects each planet would have on the terrestrial world as it moved through the heavens.

Affinities with elements = magnetic field. The planets pull and shape the field of the entire solar system, giving it a different 3D graph of intensities and declinations for each configuration. As the earth passes through this field, the intensities influence the distribution of heat in our core, cause static fields through the dynamo effect, and influence bacteria in the clouds and nematodes in the soil. Not mysterious or metaphysical, unless you're a follower of the modern astrology that attributes all long-term weather to OrangeTrumpQanon Witch Carbon.

  Decline-ometer
I placed the Declinometer at the end of the weather set, and noted that it was measuring the impending flip of the earth's magnetic field.

The name turns out to be accurate. Declinometer = Declinometer. As magnetism weakens, civilization declines.



The earth's field is a BASELINE for several huge parts of life that we depend on. Bacteria use it, bees use it, birds use it. Bacteria control clouds and feed everything else. Bees and birds pollinate plants.

We also use it, though we arrogantly assume that our "free will" and "theories" are in control, and we assume that our magnificent thoughts are based on our splendid Innovative Disruptive capabilities.

In fact our brains function by resonant waves passing through the cerebrum and cerebellum. When the baseline for this resonance is distorted, the resonance itself is distorted... but because we aren't noticing the baseline, we don't know what's happening.

Sanity starts with recognizing the baseline. We can't do much for the bacteria and birds and bees, but we might be able to compensate for their poor navigation by better agriculture and better storage. In limited areas we might be able to create a prosthetic field to stabilize the bees. We could also stop CONFUSING the field with billions of wi-fi transmitters occupying every cubic angstrom of space. NONE of these wi-fi transmitters are needed or helpful. ALL of them are serving Satan.

Weather is influenced in a more basic way by the movement of the magma that also changes the magnetic field. Again we can't do anything about the magma, but we could be spending money on more dams and flood control and hail cannons, instead of wasting trillions on Gaian religious liturgy, which is a holocaust.

Each unnecessary murder by offshoring and lockdowns and muzzles deprives us of skills and abilities and strength that could have been USED PRODUCTIVELY to improve our cultivation and culture.

  Salute to Leeds and Northrup part 3: Weather.
Following part 1 and part 2.

I'm cheating this time. None of these instruments were in the Leeds and Northrup catalog. LN sold some weather sets, but not these exact items. I picked them from an 1885 British science equipment catalog, aiming for beauty and 'bridginess'.

We'll do this scene outside, since Spring has finally arrived after a miserable LaNina winter. The items are arrayed in a science fair layout, not really set up for measuring weather.



Happystar begins the fair with the most obvious item, a wet-dry humidity thermometer. Balance: Two equivalent thermometers receiving the same sun and wind, but one of them is also losing heat by evaporation.

Meteorologists weren't afraid to get down in the dirt. Another balance. Two identical thermometers, shielded from wind, and mounted on twigs as per the catalog's instructions. (They even look like little bridges.) One has a black bulb to absorb solar radiation, the other has a bright bulb. The bright-bulb side of the bridge is reading direct soil temperature by contact.

Now Polistra shows a recording barograph. This is beautiful, not bridgy, since the aneroid isn't being balanced against an isolated aneroid.



The innards with the lid off: When air pressure rises, it compresses the aneroid. The top pushes down, and sends its movement to the graph pen and the dial via two levers.

Polistra is showing a Lind anemometer.



This was definitely bridgy. A classic drain trap, with one side sealed and the other side open to air. The vane on top insured that the open end faced into the wind, so it received higher pressure than ambient. The numbers on the scale are literal inches of water; the sum of the two sides gave the result.

The catalog's writeup on Lind has a lookup table to convert the inches into pounds per square foot, and a Designation of Such Wind.

To use the instrument it is simply filled up to the zero point with water, and then exposed to the wind; the difference in the level of the water gives the force of the wind in inches and tenths, by adding together the amount of depression in one limb, and elevation in the other, the sum of the two being the height of a column of water which the wind is capable of sustaining at that time.

The next item is bridgy, but I picked it for its wonderfully clanky name:

Bohnenberger's Electroscope with Zamboni's Dry Piles.

Try fitting that name into a commercial jingle. Bohnenberger's Electroscope charges good, like a Zamboni's Dry Pile should.



It's a standard gold-leaf electroscope measuring atmospheric charge, leveraged by the Dry Piles. The 'piles' are a dry battery with 800 paper-thin cells packed into a short cylinder. It maintains a strong potential difference between the plates. The neutral gold leaf is suspended between the plates, connected to a pole that senses the atmosphere. Because of the high 'leverage' from the Zamboni, any positive or negative change in the atmosphere will slap it to one side or the other.



Happystar is an Okie, so he doesn't need Bohnenberger or Zamboni to tell him that it's time to man the hail cannons!

Why so stormy? Not carbon. The earth's magnetic field is weakening, preparing for a pole shift. This has been OBVIOUS for about ten years. Ocean currents are being reshaped by the hot spot in the south Atlantic, which is closely related to the movements of magma under the surface. Bacteria, who move clouds around, are losing their bearings and getting stuck. Now larger sea animals are also losing their bearings, swimming in circles.

The Declinometer was meant to detect the shapes and changes of the magnetic field at all angles.



Like a telescope, it adjusts for altitude and azimuth. It seems to have a little transit at the bottom for sighting a landmark. The compass needle is suspended tightly between agate bearings, so it reads the net field direction or declination at various settings of altitude and azimuth.

Graphic sidenote: I've shown the electroscope snapping when lightning strikes, to make the animation obvious. I suspect a real electroscope would show the atmosphere gradually charging one way, then slapping the other way and returning to neutral when lightning strikes.

  Plastics explosive
Reading Collectible Auto while eating as usual. An article on designers struggling to adapt to the 1973 oil shock mentioned the attempt to use plastics instead of metals, which mostly failed.

For some reason this reminded me of the famous line in the '68 movie. One word, young man. Plastics.

I watched that movie in a theater, and the line struck like a bomb. The audience (who presumably knew it was coming) gasped and groaned and screamed at the line. One of my hippie "friends" had a full-scale breakdown afterward.

What was Deepstate doing? In hindsight it's obvious. Agent Provocateur as always. Deepstate was constantly steering smart youngsters toward abstract careers, ideally working in "social" "science" where we could develop torture chambers and psy-ops and surveillance techniques for Deepstate. The plastics man was there to make plastics look awful.

Plastics, and more generally materials, are where the REAL development of REAL technology happens. Original inventions were finished in 1906. Everything since then has been materials and manufacturing methods.

Deepstate has been running a multi-front war against real culture and real skill since 1946. They know that materials are the key to real tech, so they make materials awful.

The '73 oil shock was the Pearl Harbor of the "global warming" front, designed to make all aspects of manufacturing harder and more risky and less profitable.

Pointed by Zuhlsdorf, an interesting proposal to restore Latin as the official language of Europe.

It's not clear if the reformers are aiming for classical or Vulgate. Sounds like the latter.

Obviously it can't and won't happen because English owns the digital world. But contrapuntally, the digital world would make the switchover much easier than ever before.

Latin is trivially central to the Latinate languages in the western half of Europe. It's also central to English vocabulary if not English grammar. Slavic is more distant, but Russians would have the partial advantage of familiarity with noun cases, which have vanished from the Latinates and English. Krauts would get the short end, with no vocabulary or grammar parallels. German has always refused to adopt Latin words as its own.

The author commits the modern Creative Destruction error here:

Another reason Latin went extinct was because of how difficult and complex it is. The language is by design, highly affected by vocal inflexion. That means nearly every spoken word can be modified based on context, voice, mood, person, number, gender, tense, and delivery. With no central authority governing what was authentic Latin, it quickly fell out of everyday usage.

As with buggy whips and dinosaurs and Neanderthals, LATIN DIDN'T GO EXTINCT. It smoothly morphed into Italian and other Latinates, and it became a major part of English by interbreeding and HGT. The Latinates kept most of the verb forms and lost the noun forms, so complexity itself wasn't the problem.

Later and sharper thought:

Among animals and plants, AND among products and skills and languages, EXTINCTION NEVER HAPPENS NATURALLY. A successful item in all of those categories may seem to disappear if you're classifying it narrowly. But in reality a successful item always adapts, always finds a way to reuse its genes or skills. Dinosaurs become birds, carriage builders become automobile builders, Latin becomes Italian.

In all of those categories, true extinction requires intentional mass murder. When you shoot all of the passenger pigeons, they are extinct. When you offshore all of the steel and electronics and textile industries, or when you lock down the barbers and restaurants, those skills become extinct. The people who owned those skills, now deprived of purpose and income, die out just as surely as the pigeons.

The "endangered species" fraud focuses our attention on purported natural extinction caused by change in habitat. The "endangered" laws remove land from successful human use, causing REAL extinction of human skills and communities and cultures.

LIFE IS PURPOSE. TECH IS DEATH.

  Correct vector
Judging from the media echoes on Quora, the Texas full-state power outage (or rolling blackout) is a major media topic. The Gaians, of course, are blaming it on Trump, and the realists are blaming it on Gaia.

Okla is also in a similar situation, but as usual media doesn't recognize the existence of Okla. As it happens I'm dealing with a courseware customer there, who is telling me about the problems.

The realists are correct as usual. Sometimes we overstate the magnitude of the blame, but we always get the correct direction of the vector.

Arctic outbreaks happen every few years. I lived in Okla for exactly the decade of the 70s, wandering from Enid to OKC to Ponca to Shawnee to Norman and back to Enid.

In the middle of the '70s there were several COLD winters, with many 10-degree days. Okla doesn't get much snow, but it does get icestorms, which are harder on the power lines. Okla also has LOTS of wind in all seasons, and LOTS of lightning in the summer.

In those 10 years we had exactly one power outage, about two days in OKC in '72, after an icestorm.

Admittedly electricity was less crucial there, because old houses had floor furnaces and gas stoves and gas water heaters that didn't depend on electricity for fans or thermostats. Even so, the electricity only failed once in ten years.

Now, thanks to the total invasion and occupation of utilities by Gaian lunatics, outages are common everywhere.

Part of the blame goes to the globalizers and financializers in the '90s, who were closely allied to the Gaians. The Enron laws made it profitable to connect all regional grids together for securitization. Since then, a local outage cascades outward unstoppably. The effect is vastly worse in places where the grid is required to compensate for fake "sources" like solar and wind. It's hard enough to feed real users with steady nuclear or hydro or coal power. When the grid has to deal with random occasional inputs from solar and wind, it's impossible to maintain stability.

Before Enron, cities often had local grids. Ponca had its own municipal power company, solely for and by the city, with profits paying for the city government. Never a moment without power. Pay for value, value for pay. Bilateral LOCAL contracts are the answer to most problems.

  Odd exception
Basic generality: All factions of Deepstate are blackmailers.

Blackmailer is another name for secret-keeper. Any profession that has the habit of confidentiality will end up blackmailing and destroying normal people if it's not rigidly constrained.

The first Deepstate was Rome. Priests hear confessions, which gives them material for blackmail. Priests commit every crime in the book, and use Original Sin to make normal people feel guilty for the priestly crimes, while the priests are officially infallible, protected from prosecution by the secrets they own.

Later versions of Deepstate picked up the Roman model. Keep secrets to create blackmail, force normal people to bear the guilt. (Are you helping the Commies? Helping the RadicalIslamicTerrorists? Helping the AltRightQanonTrumpNazis? Helping the "virus"? You are, whether you know it or not.) Modern Deepstates always include spies and intel agencies, the best secret-keepers and blackmailers of all.

Wilson's version of Deepstate was developed by Lady Edgar, the ideal Roman and the champion blackmailer, starting the apostolic succession of Roy Cohn and Jeffrey Epstein. (Who comes after Epstein? No need for the question since Epstein is still running the show. He was simply castled.)

The tech Deepstate of the last two decades reproduces the priestly pattern with NDAs as the seal of confidentiality and social media as the confessional, letting Jobs and Zuck and Ellison know the innermost thoughts and detailed daily movements of the sinners.

This year's priesthood arises from the former "medical" profession, another gang of secret-keepers, specifically enabled by HIPAA. This year's Original Sin is "mask deniers" and "superspreaders". We must comply more and more in thought and deed while the rulers openly and brazenly violate their own rules and commit every crime in the book plus an infinite number of new crimes unimagined before. Infallible priests.

EXCEPTION: One branch of Deepstate doesn't quite fit the pattern. Environmentalism certainly has Original Sin, and has Carbon Offsets, an exact copy of indulgences. But it doesn't have an obsession with secrecy, and doesn't actively commit blackmail. The 2009 hack showed Michael Mann and his cohorts concealing data and pulling dirty tricks against competing academics. The tricks were just unfair, not forcible extortion. Smart competitors can counteract data suppression** and ruthless competition. You can't defend against forced extortion.

I was reminded of this by a splendid article in Unherd, written by an experienced British forester and farmer. Boris achieved Brexit so he could be MORE free to commit genocide. He started with "climate" genocide then smoothly jumped into the "virus" holocaust. This article points out the natural harm of planting trees as indulgences. Trees are imperialists. An overgrown forest is NOT a balanced landscape; everything in it is designed by the trees to favor the trees. There's more biodiversity in a cleared meadow under a powerline than in the virgin forests around the clearing.

Some of the "climate" operatives use social media to find and shame "climate" BadThinkers, but this isn't a formalized blackmail network, and there isn't a tradition of confessional secrecy in environmentalism.

When I see a major exception like this, it's a pretty good sign that I'm missing some of the facts. I'll keep watching.

** HIPAA and secrets are just plain impossible with natural data. Mann had a proprietary set of tree-ring and ice-core measurements that supposedly supported his evil theories. Well, you don't have to wait for him to reveal his data, and you don't have to file futile FOIA suits. You can find other tree rings and ice cores and make your own measurements. BE YOUR OWN BEACON.

  Missing the Rand point
Jeffrey Tucker at AIER is the champion truth-teller on the current holocaust, the only source of the ONE FACT that would start the Nuremberg Trials if any sanity remained.

Other writers at AIER are more standard "conservatives" and "libertarians", often missing the main point.

This article by David Hart correctly traces the genealogy of the "virus" holocaust from the "green" genocide, but misses the ideological point badly. Or more precisely, Hart adds an ideological point to a situation that has no connection to ideology. (All situations have no connection to ideology, which is a completely extraneous and meaningless variable.)

He considers these movements to be socialist. Nope.

The Green movement originated in CIA and "social" "science" types, who like to use Marxish terminology but are NOT Marxists. They're just evil.

Soon after the origin, "climate" was taken over by Libertarians, and the "virus" holocaust is ALL Libertarian.

Globalism IS libertarianism. Soros and Bezos are anti-Marxist, following Ayn Rand to the letter. Rand's utopia is a one-man utopia. Atlas ends up being the universe, and all other humans end up enslaved or dead. Soros and Bezos fully intend to be the universe.

The opposite of Rand isn't necessarily socialism, because the definition of socialism is meaningless.

The real variable is SKILLS, not "control of means of production". The SKILL variable does run partly along the same lines as capitalist vs socialist, but not entirely.

The correlation is clear when SKILL is the prime variable. The countries and states that have the earliest and harshest lockdowns are Randian, fully financialized, running solely on debt and free money for Atlas, closely tied to Soros and Bezos. In those places Bezos CAN kill everyone, so he does.

The countries and states with the mildest tyranny are dependent on REAL INDUSTRY AND FARMING, and dependent on TAXES for survival. Many of these places are socialist or Soviet, because Soviet systems always depend on real people doing real work and paying real taxes.

Hart seems to be catching onto the crossed-up variables at the end of the article, where he notes with some puzzlement that his Libertarian mentors were following Lenin's model to gain tyranny. Maybe his puzzlement will lead to a NOW I SEE moment. Learning tends to happen that way.
