Local notes
1. Heard a political conversation among non-political workingclass types on the morning bus. Consensus: Both candidates are impossible, BUT Hillary WILL start a war with Russia and Trump probably WON'T. It's too bad Bernie got cheated; he would have been the best.
On the dot.

2. National organizations and media still haven't figured out that 1/3 of the country has already voted. They talk about the Early Vote stuff in the East but totally misunderstand mail voting.
Headline on LOCAL station KHQ:
Early votes arrive as Washington prepares for election night
Subhead: More than a million Washingtonians have cast their ballots in advance of Tuesday's election...
No, they aren't EARLY or IN ADVANCE. They're just VOTES. The mailed-in ballots are the ONLY votes, not SPECIAL WEIRD ABSENTEE votes. The election lasts from the moment you get your ballot in the mail until all ballots are counted. Tuesday is somewhere in the middle of that process.
Local media, after 12 years and three main elections, still say "Get out and vote on Tuesday!" Pointless advice to an audience that finished voting last week.
