  Metrology Day 1

Polistra always marks World Metrology Day. This year her theme is BASELINES. Human perception is never absolute. We measure everything ... light, sound, income, mood, health ... by comparison to a slowly adapting baseline.

Instrumental measurement works the same way. You have to know where the baseline or ground point is, and you have to specify whether your measurement is a delta from baseline or a calibrated absolute.

= = = = =

Back in 2011 I wrote about the 1937 syndicated radio series Komedy Kingdom. I've put the series back into my bedtime playlist, and the show has a new flavor. Obviously the recordings didn't change, but the BASELINE changed, therefore my PERCEPTION changed.

In 2011 the Komedy aspect of the show was most salient. The music was excellent but the Komedy seemed flat compared to the precisely timed wordplay of Fibber & Molly or Burns & Allen.

This year the Kingdom aspect is more salient. I hadn't noticed it before. In the intro to the first episode, Elvia lays out the concept explicitly:

Hello, you merry subjects! A royal welcome to the Komedy Kingdom. Your only passport is a smile, and the only thing you must leave outside the boundary is a case of the blues.

In later episodes the 'conceit' got weaker but the overture made the point every week with the line

Throw away your troubles, cast aside the blues....

As delta from today's baseline, the Kingdom is a virtual enclave, a hidden valley where even non-elites can feel like citizens.

= = = = =

Of course today's comedy is INFINITELY more precise and exact than any non-enlightened 1930s humor.

Today's comedy is AS FOLLOWS, VERBATIM, WITH NO DEVIATION PERMITTED.

  Metrology day 2

More thoughts on BASELINES.

In electrical terms the purpose of all cultural tyrants from Robespierre to Lincoln to Lenin to Hitler to Soros is simple.

Cut the ground wire. Remove the baseline.

A culture that has an earth ground, a firm zero-point reference, can't be yanked around in every possible direction to satisfy the blood-fetish of Maximum Leader. Human actions and cultural components have strict limits on gradients. When people and cultures are grounded, the parallel impedance of mass elements absorbs small delusions easily and refuses to be pulled up beyond natural limits.

Tyrants succeeded in cutting the ground wire for EU/US/UK. Now these areas can be charged up to infinite gradients by all sorts of bizarre unnatural voltage patterns.

In the modern world Russia and Africa have remained grounded. Their cultures have a double-ought copper bus bar to God, a permanent lock to the zero-point of Natural Law.

When ungrounded cultures get charged up to fantastically high voltages, they always gain the delusion that they can grab Russia or Africa and pull them up to "civilized" standards. The grab always fails and the result is a shocking discharge.

= = = = =

Illustrating the point.

First, we have our familiar Sorosian characters. Humanoid entities of variable gender, equipped with trapezoidal glasses and trapezoidal mouths. They live in Laputa, the cloudland of projectors. Of course Swift's neanderthal gender-binary name is unsuitable, so it is Lxputx now.

Let's put them into motion and place a voltmeter to ground.

As is typical of SorOS, their action is perfect chaOS, and their charge is equally random.

= = = = =

On the opposite side of the world we have a pair of RUSSIANAGGRESSIONS who are doing what RUSSIANAGGRESSIONS always do. AGGRESSING! MEDDLING! INTERFERING! HACKING! ATTACKING the poor defenseless Lxputxns MERCILESSLY!

Well, not really. They're just doing what Russians like to do, so their action needs no animation and their GROUNDED culture needs no measurement. Zero volts gradient from God.

= = = = =

Now we see what happens when Lxputx gets one of its random impulses to extend the Gentle Wand Of Democracy And Civilization toward the benighted RUSSIANAGGRESSIONS; accompanied, of course, by millions of troops, bombs, rifles, tanks, etc, seasoned to taste.

Nuff said.

  Anti-Parkinson Party

A week ago I proposed a silly Legalize Information Party. (Well, not so silly, but any thought of any sort of sanity in US/UK/EU politics is silly.)

Here's another silly idea. A loop-breaker or Anti-Parkinson Party. APP.

This movement would attempt to break DEADLY positive feedback Parkinson loops and switch to LIFE-GIVING negative feedback loops.

Sorosian governments currently function as follows:

1. Create a problem from nothing. Either define an ordinary harmless situation as a problem (eg "toxic" water or educational "achievement gaps" or some innocent foreign country that "needs more democracy") or generate the problem by careful cultivation (eg "terrorism" or "hate crimes" or "drug crimes").

2. Urgently request more funds to "solve" the problem you made. Since the defined problems are part of nature, your efforts will never "solve" them. And since the created problems are the result of your efforts, your efforts will make them worse because that's your job. In both cases funding increases exponentially, and thus evil increases exponentially, and thus funding etc.

= = = = =

The Loop Breakers or Anti-Parkinsons would simply REVERSE THE BUDGETING PROCESS. Instead of increasing budgets when problems increase, Loop Breakers would do the old Chinese Doctor routine, aka negative feedback, aka LIFE. Pay agencies MORE when the problem is small. Pay LESS when the problem is large. This will motivate the government to solve REAL problems, and to stop generating delusional "problems".

Silly.

  Thrifty Nature

Among mammals and birds, intelligent critters live longer. Looks like Nature hates to waste resources. Intelligence takes more brain complexity and more energy, so smart animals live longer and reproduce less often.

Does this correlation extend to other living things? Are turtles supersmart? Many fish have an essentially unlimited lifespan. Are they smarter than short-lived fish? How about plants and trees? Are perennials smarter than annuals? Redwoods smarter than apricots?

  Plagiarism

Even though Wikileaks is getting large enough and rich enough to lose its focus on plain truth, the governments of US/UK/EU still haven't lost their focus on raw evil.
The MPS issued a statement saying that its actions had been based on a response to a "European Arrest Warrant for an extremely serious offence". It went on: "Now that the situation has changed and the Swedish authorities have discontinued their investigation into that matter, Mr Assange remains wanted for a much less serious offence. The MPS will provide a level of resourcing which is proportionate to that offence." The MPS said it would "not comment further on the operational plan".
Well, are you going to arrest him or not? There's no way to know until it happens or doesn't happen. So he's still effectively imprisoned without the slightest hint of justification.

Since lawsuits are flying back and forth around this mess, Kafka's estate should join the fracas. Sue UK for plagiarism. This piece of tyranny beats the Trial all to hell.

  Things you still don't know

ZH features some "things you don't know" about the history of money.

One of those things is the idea that 'buck' came from fur traders, who used the skin of a buck for the value of a dollar. Granting that old slang can be hard to trace, this one simply doesn't make sense. First, fur traders were not a fertile source of slang. They didn't connect much with broader society. Second, 'buck' is the same word as 'puck', representing a hard token or coin. Plenty of slang terms, including 'passing the buck', arise from this basic meaning. No reason to stretch all the way to furs when buck already meant a coin.

Here's a specific reference from an 1874 British dictionary of slang:

Sixpence was the most common coin, thus it owned the widest variety of slang terms, including buck. A dollar at that time was about 1/5 of a pound = 4 shillings or 48 pence, but slang doesn't follow exact exchange rates. The more appropriate ratio is Common coin / Common coin.

However, from the same source...

... some slang actually agreed with the exchange rate.

= = = = =

And just for fun, a few more items from the same source that caught my attention.

Moral waste-pipe! Wonderful.

  Oblivious or polite?

I think Sara Ann knows what part of Old Faithful she's holding.

This was in the January 1933 issue of an RCA periodical, so I doubt it was an intentional joke. Call signs were bolded in all promotional pictures, so this particular call sign wasn't being singled out.

  What Carry carried

Latest item at KSHS is a fascinating look at the mind of an interesting character. It's a copy of Imitatio Christi, given to Carry Nation by a writer at the KC Star.

Several pages have notations. This one seems to be the longest:

Sunday May 5 1901 I got up at four [don't] feel so well went for my trunk at depot with Dodd the turnkey Oh praise God and bless the giver of this book Got a letter from Charlie's Darling child

[Poor Dodd must have suffered terrible nightmares for the rest of his life.]

Most notations are practical, like this one:

Read in the Rotary in Wichita jail April 25 1901

This one is unique. It's sideways, it's written in 'typewriter style' instead of cursive, and it runs directly contrary to everything Carry stood for.

Oh give me not my way O Lord!

Getting her way was the sole purpose of her life. Was she starting to have regrets, or was this written by someone else? Perhaps an irritated cellmate who had heard too many of those 'readings in the Rotary'?

= = = = =

Sidenote: I was looking through the mugshots at KSHS, which are mostly from 1901, hoping to find Carry and her cellie. Carry wasn't there, but this random pairing of two female inmates tells an unchanging story. Blacks have always done a better job of Imitatio Christi.

  Worst toxin

The suburb of Airway Heights suddenly told its residents that its water is undrinkable, hopelessly contaminated.

Was anyone sick? No.

What was the contamination? E Coli? Lead? Plutonium? No.

When did the contamination suddenly start? It didn't.

In fact there was no contamination at all. EPA had suddenly decided to enforce a "law" against Airway Heights.

Well then, what was the delusion of contamination?

Fairchild AFB, near Airway Hts, has occasionally used a chemical foam for firefighting in training exercises. This foam contains a chemical called PFOS which has been used for 60 years in household products such as takeout containers, non-stick pans, popcorn bags, outdoor clothing, camping tents, stain-repellent clothing, carpets, and cosmetics.

Writers in the local "newspaper" seem to have realized the absurdity without openly questioning the lunacy.

In the first article:
The thought on everyone’s mind behind the Yoke’s grocery store in Airway Heights Wednesday morning was, “Where’s the water?”

“Everybody’s out,” said Martha Grall, as she smoked a cigarette outside of her car. Behind hers was a line of eight others waiting patiently for a water shipment that was supposed to arrive at 7 a.m., but was more than two hours late.

Grall, who finally received two packs of bottled water after two men donated 20 after hearing about the crisis on the news, said she’s worried and grossed out about the thought her water could be contaminated.

“I’ve been sick for the last two weeks, and I was wondering for a while what was wrong with me,” she said. “And then I find this out and it’s like, go figure.”
In the second article the accompanying picture shows a dude with permanent cigarette clamped in his mouth, pushing a cart full of bottled water.

Point made. Leaving aside the obvious cigarettes, even the idling cars waiting in line will give you more actual toxins than the water, and your clothes, pans, carpets and cosmetics have been giving you PFOS "toxin" since you were born.

The worst toxins in the world, of course, are EPA and TV and USA. There's no chance of decontaminating our BRAINS until we eliminate EPA and TV and USA. Shut'n'shoot.

  Why doesn't it happen?

Yeah, another of these questions.

When corporations go stark raving mad, their best product is sane executives and sane engineers who join other companies or form new companies.

Why doesn't this happen with bonkers nations like US? There must be a few sane politicians in DC, and a lot of sane bureaucrats in various agencies. Why don't they leave and work for sane countries? We've been bonkers for 27 years, which should have been enough time for plenty of exits. I haven't seen any.

We do have a 'revolving door', but it turns opposite from the corporate exits. Sane bureaucrats don't join other countries; instead the MOST INFLUENTIAL (ie CRAZIEST) bureaucrats join Goldman and CNN.

= = = = =

Later thought: It's not just corporate executives who leave sinking ships. Corporate PRODUCTS and METHODS migrate to other countries when American corporations stupidly abandon them. Willys in Brazil, Packard in Russia, Ford Falcon in Australia, and FordISM in Japan and Korea. In each case the product or method lived for decades and evolved in its own way in the new country. More recently USA STRONG tossed out MySpace, LiveJournal, Geocities and Xoom. All took root and flourished in other countries.

USA STRONG is a crazy vicious gardener who grows fine plants (get it? get it?) and poisons them and chops them down to the ground, but doesn't notice the birds carrying his SEEDS to sane gardens where they grow and thrive.

  Wikileaks goes Parkinson

Wikileaks has gone around the Parkinson bend. They're no longer serving truth, they're only serving their own budget and expansion. Worst of all, they feel aligned with mainstream "journalists" and feel the need to defend mainstream "journalists", even though "journalists" are the worst enemies of truth in all of human history.

Parkinson had to happen sooner or later. Why now? Tantalizing correlation with the release of Bryan Manning, who seems destined to serve as frontman or leader for Wikileaks. Manning's actual leak was dubious. It was NOT damaging to State Dept, so it looked like the usual bureaucratic self-serving leak. Which side is Manning on? I'm remembering Roy Cohn and David Brock, but those parallels don't prove anything.

  Understatement

Putin, translated in RT:
"We are seeing in the US a developing political schizophrenia. There is no other way I can explain the accusations against the acting US president that he gave away some secrets to Lavrov.

Those who "are destabilizing the internal US political situation using anti-Russian slogans either don't understand that they are bringing this nonsense in on their own side, and then they are just stupid, or else they understand everything, and then they are dangerous and corrupt people."

Exactly. Schizophrenia is an extreme understatement. These monsters are VASTLY farther from reality than real schizophrenics. Real schizies have lucid intervals. These monsters have lost all contact with all aspects of reality, including their own survival.

Fortunately the rest of the world is looking at our unspeakably evil Axis with appropriate levels of shock and horror, and running away as fast as possible without getting bombed or bankrupted. Even more fortunately, the new Allies provide an opposite magnetic pole, a fast-growing source of SANE power.

  Purely personal

I'm writing this to settle down my weather PTSD, trying to reset a stubbornly persistent perception.

We just finished a 1/2 inch of rain today, some of which was fierce and haily. In a normal season a half inch would be helpful, not harmful. I'm stuck in PTSD setting from harsh winter, constantly on edge because this is NOT a normal season. (Incidentally, the slow-moving disaster is still killing people.)

Well, is it normal or not? At this point it's close enough to normal. It FEELS like we've had Noah's Flood every day, but IN FACT we've had a MONTH between major rains. That's NORMAL.

The last half-inch rain was April 17, and today is May 16. That's almost a MONTH. Do you hear me, self?

See? There it is in black and white.

  Thanks, Ralph 459

The only saving grace of a government that has roared out beyond all contact with reality is that the total lunatics don't know when they're showing weakness.

Today's lunacy about Trump "revealing" "secrets" to RUSSIANHACKING RUSSIANAGGRESSION actually reveals a real secret.

When we are sanely fighting a war against X, we are happy to have any help we can get against X. Our sane government in WW2 was happy to get help from Russia against the Krauts and Japs, even though we intrinsically love the Krauts and intrinsically dislike Russia. We swallowed our distaste and generously allowed Russia to sacrifice 1/5 of its people and property to wear down the Krauts.

Now the government REFUSES to accept help from Russia, and PUNISHES Trump for attempting to set up cooperation against ISIS.

Thus neatly and decisively VERIFYING what truth-lovers already know. ISIS is a branch of CIA. We are not fighting against ISIS, we are controlling ISIS.

ISIS R US.

Any attempt to fight against ISIS is treason from Deepstate's viewpoint.

Thanks, Ralph.

  Deepstate centennial

Writing a pointless comment at Unz, I realized that the current incarnation of Deepstate is 100 years old next month.

There is always a 'deep state' in various forms, but our current Globalist form began specifically when Wilson signed the Espionage Act on June 15, 1917. The institutions created by Wilson have continued (with occasional rebranding) since then.

Happy birthday, Deepstate! Long may you obliterate facts and logic and Deplorables and entire worlds!

  NTRN

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Non-Trite Radio Network? Simple rules. Don't use the stories everyone else is using. Don't quote the people who are always quoted. (McCain, Graham, Pelosi, Schumer, etc.) There are LOTS of politicians in Congress who have INTERESTING things to say, but we never hear from them. Don't play Beatles music. Don't use trite sound effects like the horror scream for IRS. Don't accept globalist ratshit or "scientific" ratshit or Sorosian ratshit or economic ratshit or any other ratshit. No assumptions, no automatic facts, no experts.

  Cui malo?

I was puzzled because the use of Bitcoin eliminates big money as the motive for the WannaCry extortion.

Simpler answer: When mafias and governments use extortion, they aren't after money. They're seeking total obedience. In this case the direct 'victims' are losing some time and a little money, but they aren't seriously damaged. Who is seriously damaged by WannaCry? MICROSOFT.

No real mystery. MS is not nice by any means, but it has remained relatively independent from Deepstate control. Apple and Google and Amazon and Tesla are enthusiastic Deepstate helpers. MS has tried to stay out of the loop. Now its reputation has been seriously damaged by Deepstate's extortion, and it will have to pay ransom in the form of obedience.

  Finally an exception!

Deepstate ALWAYS blames the tool instead of the criminal. The gun commits the crime. This blame is necessary because ordinary weapons are primarily SELF-DEFENSE weapons, and SELF-DEFENSE is absolutely forbidden under ALL circumstances.

Finally we have an exception to this universal rule!
Microsoft President and Chief Legal Officer Brad Smith said in a blog post that the cyberattack is an example of why stockpiling vulnerabilities by governments is a serious issue. "The governments of the world should treat this attack as a wake-up call," wrote Smith on Sunday. "We need governments to consider the damage to civilians that comes from hoarding these vulnerabilities and the use of these exploits."

However, British cybersecurity expert Graham Cluley doesn't want to blame the NSA for the attack. "There are other criminals who've launched this attack, and they are ultimately responsible for this."
Microsoft follows the usual rule. Graham Cluley violates the rule.

Why? Because in this case Deepstate BUILT the gun. We can't blame the tool when it's a custom-made Globalist Brand Extortion Gun. It has NO self-defense uses. It's purely an aggressive weapon.

[There is another major exception to the rule. Same reason. Built by Deepstate, purely aggressive, intrinsically aimed at Deplorables, thus intrinsically a good weapon unless used by The Wrong Sort Of Person.]

  Streamlining again

Still 'making' Moderne and thinking about streamlining...

Here's the outside again:

Now filling the inside:

Local radio stations were LOCAL in the '30s. Some had network feeds, but most of their programming was live. Local singers and musicians and poets had a chance for small-scale stardom.

In a globalized world you have to become globally known before you get respect. The starting threshold is vastly higher.

  Numerology question

The 27 day lunar cycle is obvious. Most calendars were based on the lunar cycle.

Why didn't anyone develop a base-3 NUMBER SYSTEM harmonizing with the lunar month? 3 x 3 x 3. Wonderfully symmetrical and meta-ish. Seems like this should have been the start of place notation. Instead of 4 weeks of 7 days, use 9 modules of 3 days, perhaps grouped in a waltz rhythm. REST work work REST work work ....

This failure is even more puzzling given the neurological basis of 3s. We natively count up to 3 before we start fudging. Languages are packed with 3s. Singular/dual/plural, me/you/him, M/F/N, good/better/best, hither/thither/yonder.

Despite those two innate forces, one built into our brains and the other built into our world, number systems seem to have started from the fingers or from binary observations of folding. Babylon mixed fingers and folds into the 12 x 5 = 60 system, and Romans did 5 x 2 = 10.

= = = = =

Later: Back in the '30s major radio stations took a step in the mod-3 direction with this cue clock.

Description:

It's not pure 3 since the minutes are divided into 4 quarters. Still it shows how a 3-based clock might look. Couldn't resist 'making' one........

Even wilder thought: Clearly the Jehovah cult, based on rounding the 27.3 day cycle up to 28, won the battle. Was there a competing system based on rounding down to 27? Ba'al? Moloch? Is the Christian three-part god a hidden remnant or reminder of the defeated system?

  Self-prohibiting prohibition

Inspiring story with a sour ending:
Tarra Simmons, a nurse and mother of three, loses it all to drug addiction, goes to prison, and serves 20 months behind bars. But when she gets out, she gets clean and stays clean. She turns her life around.

Now, Tarra is graduating from Seattle University's law school, and she is ready to begin a new career as a lawyer. However, the state bar association says she can't.
Turning your life around is wonderful.

BUT .... if you're going to turn your life around, you shouldn't turn into a well-marked dead end. More specifically, if you're trying to be a lawyer you should know in detail what the laws say. Wasting years of effort toward a goal prohibited by law is not a good credential for a prospective lawyer. She will probably be able to find work as a paralegal or legal advisor for a Sorosian NGO, so it would have made more sense to shape her education toward those goals.

  Constants and variables 72

State news mentions a bill proposed by Wash state legislators.

The four co-sponsors are somewhat bipartisan and varied:

Frockt is a standard Sorosian leftist.

Miloscia is a firmly pro-life Repooflican.

Palumbo is a Gaian.

Ranker is a Gaian and tech-tyrant.

SB 5936 simply deletes several nearly identical sentences from the state's Emergency Plan rules. These sentences were added in 1984, removing Nuclear from the requirements of planning. 5936 restores nukewar to the list of emergencies.

Current purpose is transparently obvious. Along with Earthquake Drills and Custody Dispute Alerts and Tsunami Drills, we're going to resume good old Drop And Cover. We must be MAXIMALLY AFRAID AT ALL TIMES so that Our Most Nobel** Leaders can gin up a frothing rabid rage against RUSSIANAGGRESSION RUSSIANWIKILEAKS RUSSIANMEDDLING RUSSIANHACKING RUSSIANINTERFERENCE.

More interesting question: Why did the legislature add those EXCEPTIONS in 1984? That was not a calm time by any means. USA STRONG and Russia were in a notably hot spell of the Cold War. CIA was sabotaging Russian oil pipelines and CIA was running Osama against their puppet regime in Afghanistan. Anti-nuke groups run by CIA with fake Russian identity were highly active, stirring up the same fear we see now.

Why was the exception ADDED during the previous anti-Russian fever, then REMOVED in the current anti-Russian fever?

= = = = =

** Nobel: Mistyped but correct. Leave it.

= = = = =

Later: Found the 1984 revisions which make the purpose clear:

At that time the monsters felt that NO PROTECTION was the best way to maximize fear. Now the monsters feel that Drop And Cover is the best way to maximize fear. The actions are contradictory but at least the purpose is constant.

The 1984 change was based on a proper understanding of human behavior, and was part of a long nationwide drive against Civil Defense. Deepstate figured out that shelters and Drop-n-Cover instilled a sense of confidence which made normal Americans insufficiently fierce. Deepstate needed CORNERED and VULNERABLE people who are more ready to support a pre-emptive strike. The current proposed change, based on a delusional misunderstanding of the 1950s and a delusional misunderstanding of human nature, moves back toward confidence and complacency, which actually fails to fulfill Deepstate's purpose.

  What's it all about?

The Bitcoin part of this WannaCry hack raises two (so far) unanswered questions.

= = = = =

First, VERY FEW PEOPLE know how to get or pay a specified amount of Bitcoin, and even those who know might have legal trouble acquiring it. Major corporations and government agencies are among the victims, and they are generally required to deal in real money.

You basically have to be inside the hacker community to get and handle the stuff.

Therefore, the attackers don't expect to gain lots of money. Most victims don't know how to pay or are legally unable to pay.

= = = = =

Second, as I never tire of pointing out, Bitcoin is NSA's own currency. Unlike green rectangles or metal circles or various forms of scrip, every Bitcoin transaction passes through the Net, and NSA can track the sender and receiver even if it can't immediately decrypt the content. Large numbers of victims are specifically known. If any of them have paid, the other end of the transaction can be spotted and the criminals can be caught. When law enforcement WANTS to find the recipient of an electronic message, it can always do so. But it hasn't.

= = = = =

Putting those questions together: First guess, the hack is another NSA/CIA effort to start a war with RUSSIANAGGRESSION. Second guess, NSA/CIA effort to develop charges against RUSSIANWIKILEAKS.

Later third guess: Extortion to force Microsoft into the Deepstate loop.

  College admins starting to improve?

A small bit of good news....

A pro-life group in Fresno got permission from the admin to chalk some rather bland pro-life messages on a campus sidewalk.
Shortly before finishing, William Thatcher, an assistant professor of public health, approached the group and said they had to keep their messages to the university's free speech area. Thatcher then said he would be back to remove the messages. He returned with a group of students and they attempted to remove the group's messages. "You had permission to put it down; I have permission to get rid of it," he says in the video.
Thatcher erased the pro-life messages and his coven of young demons wrote some pro-death messages.
In a statement to CNN, Joseph Castro, president of California State University, Fresno, said the school's policy on free speech is clear. "Free speech on campus is not limited to a 'free speech zone' or any other narrowly defined area," he said. "Those disagreeing with the students' message have a right to their own speech, but they do not have the right to erase or stifle someone else's speech under the guise of their own right to free speech."
Bravo to the admin for TWO good actions. First permitting the pro-life messages, then unambiguously DEFENDING the messages against the censor. No weasely mumbling about balance or inclusion or Die-Versity.

No need to punish the censor. His foot speaks louder than his slogans. Best of all, the fact that he teaches PUBLIC HEALTH verifies what we already know: Public health is no longer about health. It's solely and specifically about STOMPING heretics and ERASING Deplorables.

All the fashionable monsters have been HAMMERING HAMMERING HAMMERING on RUSSIANAGGRESSION RUSSIANMEDDLING RUSSIANHACKING RUSSIANINTERFERENCE. Pouring endless endless endless words and images and military action and "investigation" into a

Billions of dollars wasted on fighting a DELUSION, while REAL THREATS go untouched and unexamined.

Now they got good and properly MEDDLED by some non-Russian hackers using NSA-made malware. British hospitals and Kraut trains came to a screeching halt.

Sweet sweet sweet justice.

Secondary justice: If the British medical system had stuck with good old PAPER for their recordkeeping, they couldn't be hacked by ANYONE, Russian or otherwise. If the Kraut train system had stuck with good old relays and switches and copper fucking wire for their signal system, they couldn't be hacked by ANYONE, Russian or otherwise.

  Non-literal Emerson

Made a sort of Emersonian decision today. Back in midwinter I was trying to maintain gumption. I formed the idea of planting some barley in the yard after all the snow was gone, as a symbol of self-sufficiency or something.

Now the snow is gone, the gumption pulled me through, and the only thing I want to do with the yard is mow it. Just keep it respectable and legal.

Emerson talks about tilling your own soil, but he doesn't mean it literally; he means cultivating your own skills and using them to best account.

Gardening is NOT one of my skills. I did some serious yard work in 2011, cleaning up years of pine crap and replanting grass. The result of the CLEANING was good, but the grass didn't grow. Gardening is not my skill, not my contribution to self-sufficiency.

Electronics IS my skill. Been doing it since I was 9, and always enjoy the DOING as well as the result. The result is (mostly) successful and useful.

So today I threw away the seeds and the spade. Keeping something that won't get used is hoarding, not storage.

  Old drones

Though I've noted several times that the 'drone' as practical device and real weapon is extremely old, I didn't realize until now that the NAME was also old.

Text chopped and channeled from RCA's technical monthly, June 1946.

Along with the tech stuff, note the understanding that Russians were constant victims of Jap aggression. Accurate understanding of Russia was deleted shortly thereafter when globalists snatched control of USA STRONG and started our permanent war against Russia.

RCA made several trial versions of the non-suicidal 'suicide bomber'. This one:

shows the word 'drone' already in use.

  Price != value

Spokane's real estate prices have JUMPED this year. I check Zillow every few months to see if anything tempts me, and this time the whole area is just plain unthinkable. Six months ago the range was 90k to 150k. Now it's 150k to 250k. I'd guess the median price is 80% higher than last year.

Are the houses better? Hell no. Even newer houses were damaged or deteriorated** by this cruel winter. Lots of busted gutters, ripped eaves, bent rafters, crushed shingles, popped siding, and invisible damage to foundations and water pipes. I'd guess median condition is down 20% from last year.

Price up 80%, value down 20%. Makes no fucking sense.

= = = = =

** Grammar sidenote: Not really proper usage. Deteriorate is an intransitive verb with a rare passive variant. The house is deteriorating, proper intransitive present. The house has deteriorated, proper intransitive past. The house is deteriorated, improper but (somehow) acceptable passive form. The house was deteriorated by winter, improper and unacceptable passive form because it implies a transitive relationship.

Most intransitives can't go passive at all. I am frowning, I frowned yesterday, but NOT I am being frowned or I was frowned by winter.

June 1 update: Walked a different route, got a closer look. The problem is deeper than STUFF. Most of the windows are broken from inside, and there's a police-flavored mesh fence around the property, presumably indicating meth. Meth mesh. Say that three times fast.

July 15 update: It's getting worse. Now two of the windows are boarded up and some of the siding has been peeled off. Can't be weather; no major storms recently.

Credit where credit is due, again. BBC has done a fine 'travel' feature on the Wichita Mountains in SW Okla. Gets everything right, and again leaves off the usual shit about EVILLLL KKKARBON and EVILLLL PETROLEUM.

Fact is, Okla was ahead of the other states in preserving landscape.... partly because the ad valorem tax on oil made money available, and partly because much of the land was unsuitable for intensive farming and cities.

Only one minor quibble:

"These rugged formations have long acted as a refuge for animals from the inclement weather and tornados that frequent the area – and for humans as an escape back to nature."

Tornados aren't the main hazard. The most common problem for animals and humans out in the open is HAIL. Okla is the nation's hail capital.

  Random thought about clothing

How does a dryer turn a T-shirt inside out? It's not an easy or accidental task. You have to get a grip on the collar from inside, then use inertia or the other hand to pull the collar through; then push the sleeves out. The sleeves tend to flop out from shaking, so that's not the puzzling part.

It would be interesting to run an experiment. You'd need a commercial dryer with lots of space, and you'd need a normal bunch of clothes around the subject T-shirt. The other clothes would need to be transparent (fiberglass?) so the subject could be seen clearly at every tumble.

  Good idea, wrong action

A scientist working for the Vatican is trying to reconcile Science and Faith. It's a splendid idea but he's arguing from weakness and pushing in the wrong direction. Believers don't need to alter their behavior. SCIENTISTS need to alter their behavior, and Consolmagno isn't even suggesting any change on that side.
The hope is that the encounter will foster good science, good discussion and even friendship. Among the speakers will be a Nobel Prize winner in physics and a Wolf Prize winner.
Already blew it. Nobels reward bad science. If you have a Nobelist speaker, you're going to hear satanic ratshit.
“An atheist could assume something very different, and have a very different view of the universe, but we can talk and learn from each other. The search for truth unites us,” he added.
"Search for truth" is tricky and prone to misuse. Lunatic SCIENCE justifies its trillion-dollar genocide as "searching for truth". Real scientists and real believers aren't searching for truth. They're SOLVING PROBLEMS. If a church isn't solving problems in the lives of its members, it ain't doing shit. If science isn't solving problems in the lives of ordinary people, it's pure waste.
He suggested that, to demonstrate that the Church and science are not at odds, those who are both churchgoers and scientists should make that fact more known to their fellow parishioners. He suggested some practical ideas, such as setting up a telescope in the church parking lot or leading the parish’s youth group on a nature hike.
Good suggestions if the activity provides a springboard for real science. Terrible idea if the scientist is going to discuss evil psychotic delusions like Big Bang or Carbon Sequestration.

What is real science? As always, Carver said it definitively.

Look about you.

TAKE HOLD of the things that are HERE.

Talk to them.

Let them talk to you.

That is all. Stop there. DO NOT gibber about theories or delusions.

= = = = =

From another angle: By focusing on the fashionable subjects like cosmology, Consolmagno is fighting an unwinnable battle. The fashionable and high-budget parts of SCIENCE are not science at all. They are a false religion that violates Natural Law. You can't reconcile two contradictory religions. When you focus instead on real Carverish science (engineering, agronomy, medicine) you don't need to reconcile anything. Direct unbiased observation of the non-human parts of Nature is perfectly harmonious with Natural Law, because Natural Law as recorded in the Old Testament is direct unbiased observation of human Nature. Two branches of the same discipline.

  Huh?

Wikileaks has been pointing out Comey's lies in both directions for a year. Now Wikileaks wants to hire the liar.

Self-destructively stupid.

"Equal opportunity offender" isn't the point. Comey offended both sides by playing games with the truth, by seeming to look for facts then silencing the facts. Wikileaks offended all sides in all countries by revealing facts and standing by the facts.

Aside from the current hullabaloo, Comey has MAINLY been heading up the government's chief crime-producing agency for several years. He didn't have any problem with the Bureau of Instigation's main mission of planning and carrying out "terrorist" acts.

Wikileaks made its bones on ABSOLUTE consistency and ABSOLUTE disconnection from all Deepstates. Hiring the Terrorist Mastermind would destroy the whole organization.

Assange made a proper point first: "Comey's firing will be an extraordinary boon for transparency as his loyalists leak and the admin counter-leaks." Should have stopped there. Inviting Comey to be part of WL destroys the brand.

= = = = =

For completeness: Two years ago, before this election shit, Comey said TRUE THINGS about police and black violence. I praised him for being the only Federal official who EVER spoke the truth about this issue. This one moment of truth still stands out, though the rest of his performance before and since has been pure Deepstate.

Another casualty of winter /// EDIT: Well, maybe.

The tunnel collapse at Hanford is probably another symptom of this winter's unusual pattern of moisture and freezing.

The result in Spokane is a scattering of water pipe breaks and flooded basements and ruined streets. October was super-wet, filling the soil with water; then the winter was unusually (but not super) cold, freezing the heavy load of water. March added another load of water just as the soil was starting to thaw. Newer streets and newer pipes were OK, but older pavement and weak pipes broke.

Using the USGS soil moisture website again...

Here's a measuring station near Spokane:

Dark green is shallow moisture, purple is deep moisture. Light green is shallow temp, blue is deep temp. In this case the temperature seems to be the abnormal variable this year. Got cold and stayed cold while the moisture piled up.

= = = = =

Now here's a site near Lind, which is closer to Hanford but not close enough to be sure:

It's consistently different from the Spokane reading; looks like the deep and shallow are more 'decoupled' than the Spokane, and the deep is low-passed. I don't know if that's an artifact of measurement or a product of different soil. This winter's anomaly shows up sharply in the deep moisture (purple) line. Loaded up MUCH more than previous years, stayed around longer.

Oops. The Lind station seems to have halted in 2016, so those lines don't mean anything. Here's a chart from John Day in Oregon, south of Hanford:

This year doesn't look especially unusual. More shallow moisture than usual, but it decreased fairly fast. So the cause still seems intuitively likely but I don't have enough data to support the idea.

  Clinton consistency

In 1993 the first President Clinton fired FBI director Sessions after Sessions offended the Clinton dynasty. In 2017 the second President Clinton fired FBI director Comey after Comey offended the Clinton dynasty.

Consistent. The only difference is that Queen Clinton operates a bit faster than King Clinton. May instead of July. Especially fast since Queen Clinton wasted the first three weeks of her reign running the peculiar and unnecessary "Trump" puppet show.

  Soon, please

Polistra celebrates V-day in analog form as usual...

The infinite infinite infinite evil in DC and NYC briefly seemed to be slowing down but now continues to expand.

Russia continues defending itself (and humanity) from our infinite infinite infinite evil. Persia, Turkey and China are the new Allies. They don't agree on everything but they are rapidly developing systematic economic and military ties. Our military blackmail won't work against a united front that owns lots of nukes. Our economic leverage will be limited when the Allies have their own banking and currency linkages, pinned to a gold standard. Our technical hacking won't work when the Allies have their own Net.

The Axis is losing slaves fast. For about two weeks I thought the Axis was going to recognize reality and change our ways, but no. We're going to increase our evil hyperexponentially until somebody takes NYC and DC off the earth. Soon, please.

  Oh. Should have been obvious.

Still marveling at the incessant HAMMER HAMMER HAMMER of RUSSIANAGGRESSION RUSSIANHACKING RUSSIANMEDDLING by the Sorosian media. Why put so much energy into a lie that doesn't matter any more? "Trump" has already taken off the mask to reveal Hillary. You've won. Total victory. Why not move on?

Aha. Discussing GM's synchromesh vs free-wheeling brought the answer. It's not about "Trump", it's simply and directly about RT. (And Wikileaks and other non-Sorosian sources.)

GM used fake news to kill the superior competition.

Non-Sorosian media provides a superior product. Anyone who recognizes reality can SEE that RT comes closer to reality than CNN/FOX/NBC/ETC.

A mafia sells inferior products, bootleg products, fake products, poisoned products. In a normal competitive market, such products won't command top prices. If people have the choice of poison vs non-poison, with good information and no external restraints, they will pay more for non-poison. Mafias have to ELIMINATE the real or superior product one way or another.

One way: Use raw force to kill the competing product.

Another way: Buy laws to prohibit the competing product.

Another way: Use rumors and blackmail to discredit the competing product.

Our dear beloved Free Press rarely uses raw force, but it specializes in rumors and blackmail. That's the purpose of the campaign against Russian media and ALL non-Sorosian media. Associate the superior product with danger and low status and poison.

As the GM-style rumor campaign reaches the point of diminishing returns, we see the Buy Laws method starting up, especially in Europe. France and Germany already prohibit many forms of truth, and EU is pushing Facebook to help with its suppression. Forcible shutdowns are increasing in Europe. Not quite up to speed here in USA STRONG. They're ginning up a prohibition of Wikileaks, but haven't acted on it yet.

= = = = =

Later thought: There's one major difference between the media mafia and the old-fashioned alcohol and drug mafia. A speakeasy or a drug dealer keeps a few containers of good stuff up front for show, or to get the habit started. Sorosian media GENUINELY CAN'T STAND TRUTH. They WORK FANATICALLY HARD, build highly effective walls, to prevent even a tiny scrap of truth from appearing anywhere NEAR their stores. No comments allowed, no responses, no letters from truth-tellers, no interviews with anyone who has EVER shown the SLIGHTEST SIGN of contact with reality.

= = = = =

Laterer: It's like an allergy, isn't it? If you live in a sterile environment from birth, never exposed to peanuts or pollen or bacteria or truth, you will have an extreme reaction to the allergen. If you were allowed to eat a random variety of foods, dig in the dirt, play with dogs and birds and fish, you were automatically exposed to reality when young.

  Flatoleth 2

Supervague thought..........

Last night's dream included a trick or device that happens often in dreams. I was driving from Enid to Stillwater on (real) highway 51. It was late at night in modern times, which means most businesses were vacant and abandoned. I was low on gas and needed to find a gas station, but all the gas stations were abandoned. Finally the KerMac SuperCenter appeared, brightly lit and clearly open. I stopped and filled up my Squareback.

The trick: Inside the dream I remembered filling up at this same KerMac SuperCenter in previous dreams. I knew it wasn't real-life, and I also knew for sure that this was a 'plagiarized' piece of standard dream material.

Was it? No way of knowing** unless I'd recorded the earlier dreams after waking. In this case I hadn't, so the repetition is totally unverifiable.

Closely resembles the deja-vu switch in waking life. Deja-vu turns on occasionally. While it's on, many events seem like repetitions of previous observations. Soon the switch turns off, and the distinction between fresh and repeated is clear again.

Also resembles an aspect of deliberate story-writing. When you invent a situation and place it into the 'frequent habit' slot, the previous iterations of the event fill in automatically in the writer's mind AND the reader's mind.

Clearly there's a special entry point for events that happen often. Given the amount of real input it takes to develop a REAL template for frequent events, you'd think it would be especially hard to FAKE a frequent event. But it's not. It's easier to retro-fill a habitual occurrence than a single unique occurrence.

Do propagandists understand this vulnerable entry point? Is this why the flat statement needing no explanation works so well?

= = = = =

** In this case there's circumstantial evidence against repetition or earlier invention. The KerMac SuperCenter had a KM logo on its sign. Thus it came from yesterday's reference to the DV gas station that I'd included in the Route 66 set. A two-letter station, transposed into Oklahoma, would be KM; transposing to modern times would inevitably become a KerMac SuperCenter. As always it's fun to watch the creative operations of the dream-scripter; but this particular set of creative transpositions was easily traceable to immediate thoughts.

  More on streamlining

Continuing on Streamline Moderne....

It's generally recognized that the style of streamlining in the '30s had little to do with real streamlining. If minimum air friction is the only goal, you can get there with squarish forms, and the most visually pleasing rounded shapes are actually worse for air drag. It's all about details and angles, and it's mostly trial and error.

The streamline style accomplished one BIG and natural goal, as a side-effect of the curvy purpose.

Streamlining placed everything inside the cell wall.

I covered this point in terms of cars and radios here. Cars and radios began as ungainly collections of pieces mounted on the OUTSIDE of a box. Streamlining pulled all the pieces INSIDE the box. When Loewy or Bel Geddes streamlined office machinery like typewriters and mimeographs, the same inward-movement happened. Mechanisms were protected from dust, ashes and coffee. Secretaries were protected from oil and ink. BORDER CONTROL. MODULARITY.

Pulling all the working parts inside an envelope is Nature's way. Keep all functions inside a WALL, with minimal openings for inputs and outputs and controls.

When applied to houses, Streamline Moderne failed to resonate with Natural Law. SM added some curves, but curves are NOT optimal for containing the necessary functions of a house. A curved wall means you can keep less stuff inside. SM used flat roofs instead of pitched roofs, again failing the basic purpose of a BOUNDARY in that direction. Pitched roofs exclude snow and rain with much less effort and maintenance than flat roofs.

Older forms of architecture had already reached optimal containment. SM intentionally violated the experimentally determined forms, with predictably bad results.

  WIP

In the deep of winter I observed that the Cape Cod with heated attic is UNQUESTIONABLY the best house for snow. Not really surprising, since it was designed by experiment in a snowy place.

The modern idea that roofs should remain uniformly cold to avoid ice dams has been definitively disproved. Roofs should be steep and warm.

I started 'making' a tribute to Cape Cods, and it's pretty much finished now. Got carried away as usual, expanded the project to a nice 1930s neighborhood. Not quite ready for release; I like to do a little testing and usage before release, and these pictures are part of the testing. (The store interior was used here.)

First the winter version, since snow was the whole purpose of the project:

A different view in summer:

Well, if it's almost finished, why is this entry titled WIP?

Continuing in '30s mode, I decided to tackle a pure Streamline Moderne, a THEORY-BASED style that has NOT held up over the years. Very few Modernes survive unless they're forcibly maintained by Historical Preservation laws.

This is based on the studio of the Philly station WIP:

The call letters still exist, so I had to find a guaranteed unused call sign for my model. Nicely enough, the exact letters I wanted are unused and available. DV = Dream Village, the overall theme or 'brand' of my Poser stuff. I'd used the letters before on a Route 66 gas station.

= = = = =

Later: Here's the finished Cape Cod neighborhood.

And here's the moderne.

  Collapsing faster

France had a chance to turn aside from sin. Instead they continued the Petain path, supinely surrendering to Kraut hegemony. Macron is Hollande Junior. Same song, second verse, even more incompetent and even more transparently treasonous. EU collapse will come faster this way. I don't know if that's good for France, but it's probably good for the world.

  Still more emptiness

Antichrist Bergoglio is worrying about the fact that our big bunker-buster bomb is called "Mother of all bombs".

Hippieshit emptiness. Always worrying about words and symbols, worrying about the exact configuration of the device. Seeing the gun as the problem. Never worrying about basic PURPOSE AND MOTIVE.

Whatever happened to Just War Doctrine? JWD is Natural Law based on PURPOSE. It says simply

DON'T START WARS. IF YOU ARE ATTACKED, DO WHAT'S NECESSARY TO REPEL THE ATTACK BUT NO MORE.

Bergoglio is ignoring the fact that the Axis VIOLATES JWD ALL THE TIME. We've been starting completely unnecessary wars constantly since 1990. Bergoglio's boss Soros wants total chaos, and Bergoglio agrees. Chaos is fine by him. He only wants more delicate euphemisms for chaos.

  Need a new word

Some fairly strong T-storms are flopping around the region. I've been checking radar often. At the moment it looks like Spokane will be missed, but the angles and motions of this system are strange, so it's not all clear yet. [Later: missed. Got 0.2" rain but no storm. Yay.]

The EAS beep just interrupted the local radio signal! What is it? Severe storm warning?

No, it's just another Custody Dispute Alert.

I could tell even before the actual message, because the announcement is voiced clearly and professionally by a live announcer in a quiet studio. Real storm warnings are voiced by primitive synthetic speech against a background of hissing and rumbling and crackling and roaring and crashing, giving the effect of a poor cell-phone with a dead battery held by a Demolition Derby driver who is using an electrolarynx.

This particular Custody Dispute originated in the Seattle area, which means it doesn't need to be heard in Spokane anyway. As always the "abductor" is obviously the kid's biological parent, though the description makes him sound like a stranger.

Thinking about an electrolarynx inspires a new word for these Huxleyan warnings.

When a PARENT is taking the kid away from a STATE-MANDATED FOSTER family, or the BETTER PARENT is nabbing the kid from the WORSE PARENT who has official custody, it's not an ABduction. By analogy with laryngeal physiology, this is an ADduction, a bringing INWARD to proper biological parenting.

Biological parents are

just as Huxley predicted.

  Reverse causation as always

SorosBBC's Tech Trend program ever so briefly and delicately mentions Uber's problems, including the Greyball software that treats regulators as Unpersons. BBC says that these problems are "results of fast growth".

Intentionally backwards, demonic fuckheads. Rapid growth happens as a result of evil. In biology we call it cancer. In organizations we call it Mafia. Uber is having problems because Uber is evil. Uber's sole purpose is to KILL LEGITIMATE BUSINESS. That's a Mafia.

The only newsworthy and unusual aspect of this particular Mafia is that regulators ARE paying some attention to it. Normally a Mafia run by the Tribe escapes attention because it's run by the Tribe.

  More emptiness

A quick look at some of the Macron "leaks" shows nothing damaging to Macron. Maybe it's hidden, but this seems to be an unsorted collection of mostly bland neutral stuff. Like the Bryan Manning leak on State Dept, this is probably a self-made leak by the globalists. The media response forcibly instructs us that the sole purpose of this leak is to generate sympathy and support for Macron.

The earlier allegations of offshore bank accounts serve the same purpose. Venality isn't the problem with Macron. Venality is a constant in politics, a bland and neutral fact. The real problem is that Macron BELONGS TO GERMANY. An allegation of corruption, coming from a predefined "evil" location, also stirs sympathy and distracts from the basic point that he SERVES MERKEL.

An intentionally damaging leak would be curated to focus on the real problem, as Wikileaks has learned to do.

Reminds me of Dolezalian "hate" hoaxes. Drop a noose on your own porch, blame the KKK.

= = = = =

Later: France's electoral commission is holding an emergency meeting to consider the "threat" they planted. What's the purpose of an emergency meeting THE DAY BEFORE THE ELECTION? No purpose if they're only going to look and investigate. The only meaningful thing they can do is declare all votes for LePen invalid because the "hacked" information might have been seen as helping LePen. Such a declaration would be criminal in a sane world, but this is no longer a sane world. I'm not betting against it.

And morer laterer: They didn't go that far. They just made it illegal to provide information about a candidate.

A smart non-globalist could snatch this opportunity. New slogan:

LEGALIZE INFORMATION!

And the party acronym follows naturally:

(Sorry for shitty graphic layout. Maybe it gets the idea across.)

  Stupidest religious wars 2

Following on the peculiar emptiness of our "battles" over empty people like Ann and Milo....

Trump's executive orders continue to be empty. Previous orders deleted last-minute Obama poison pill orders which had never taken effect. Trump was restoring a status quo that never actually went away. This symbolic deletion is important but it's not the same as deleting a REAL order that had been destroying people and communities for years.

His "religious freedom" order is more directly empty. The order specifies that executive departments should continue doing what they're doing, and it gently suggests that departments shouldn't add new restrictions on religion unless they feel like it.

The two versions of "Repeal And Replace" are also empty, with one major exception. The second version adds massive subsidies (130 billion) to insurance companies without requiring the insurers to do anything different. So it's empty for normal people but an overflowing free gift for insurers.

If you're going to take an action that GIVES THE ENEMY A POINT TO ATTACK, your action should accomplish something. Your action should help your own side or damage the enemy.

Trump and the alleged "conservative" side are just sending up flares to show the enemy where to shoot. Here we are! Come get us!

  Constants and variables, RUSSIANAGGRESSION edition

Here are two PSA's that ran on the Fibber show in March and April of 1954. I've isolated one-minute clips of just the PSAs.

= = = = =

One message was about countering RUSSIANAGGRESSION with our own propaganda.

Condensed transcription:
Even though the guns of war are silent today, another war, a vicious and bitter war, continues. It is a cold war of propaganda versus truth, and it is raging throughout the world. ... You can help combat the vicious lies that are being spread throughout Europe by joining in the Crusade For Freedom, which offers each of us an opportunity to strike a blow against tyranny. This blow can be struck through Radio Free Europe, an independent citizen-sponsored organization which broadcasts the message of democracy to the iron curtain every day. Hour after hour it undermines the influence of Red rulers.
Note that this message was broadcast AT THE SAME TIME when Roy Cohn, assisted by Hoover and the military, was permanently undermining ANTI-communism here at home.

In other words, Communism wasn't the problem. Communism was just fine as long as it was spread by the Right Sort Of People. Russia was the problem. Cold War 1 and the current Cold War 2 aren't about ideology. The issue is genocidal globalist power. Russia is MEDDLING AND INTERFERING with our need to destroy everything, so Russia has to be defeated.

= = = = =

The other message was about our standard of living.

Condensed transcription:
Our high standard of living is primarily a result of our ability to PRODUCE more than any other country. PRODUCTION has done more than give us a high standard of living. We don't want to lose our accustomed standard of living. We also don't want to lose the freedom we fought for. So what can we do now? Work longer and harder so we can produce enough to build our strength against RED AGGRESSION, and maintain the high standard of living which has made our country a fine place to live in.
Here's the true variable. This message is distinctly non-modern, and points to a real change in alignment of power. Before 1971, America was the production end of globalism. After 1971 we gradually became the consumption end of globalism. Note that BANKERS FAVORED PRODUCTION in 1954, and BANKERS WERE MAKING PROFITS from investing in production.

Ray of hope: This means that globalism doesn't automatically require financialism. We can't kill globalism, but there might be a way to reshape the incentives so that bankers will again find manufacturing more profitable than sucking Janet's titties. It happened before, so it could happen again.

  Radartoon

This has to be the weirdest storm pattern I've ever seen.

It's a unicorn with diarrhea.

Also, Wunderground has finally reverted City Building back to Cheney.

Later: the unicorn moved due north and just missed Spokane. Thanks, weather gods.

  Why not?

The latest item at KSHS isn't tremendously interesting by itself, but the description has an irresistible set of names.

John Henry sits in the cab of an Avery under mount steam engine being used to plow a field in Lane County, Kansas. The engine was owned by Ford Brown.

The tractor looks JUST LIKE a small locomotive, complete with cab. Gas-powered tractors didn't acquire cabs until the '60s.

Those names! John Henry. Ford Brown. And of course Lane County.

Wait. Ford never made a steam-powered ANYTHING. He never touched steam, even though steam was the most likely power source in 1895. Especially strange since Henry was chief operating engineer at the Detroit Edison steam plant when he started fiddling with gas-powered buggies. Later on, Henry and Tom collaborated briefly on an electric car, but disagreed on goals and halted the project.

For that matter, why didn't Tom build a steam ANYTHING? His power plants were all steam, and some power plants in big cities directly distributed steam for heating, but none of Edison's appliances used steam.

Why didn't these two EXPERTS in industrial steam ever use steam in their products?

  Another self-defense tool

Yesterday I noted a connection between guns and cigarettes:
The tobacco industry can feel secure against takeover by Amazon and Google. Another safe space is guns. Sorosians hate tobacco and guns with an equally screechy ferocity. What do guns and tobacco have in common? Both are SELF-DEFENSE tools. Globalism requires TOTAL VULNERABILITY to weaponized criminals and weaponized governments and weaponized media and weaponized schools and weaponized churches.

Guns defend your body and house against violent migrants and criminals, and tobacco defends your soul against tyrannical oppression by culture and media. Both are risky, but in a situation of total invasion or oppression the defense can be worth the risk.

More smoke = less snowflakes.

= = = = =

Another self-defense tool is THRIFT. Saving money, storing spares. How do I know it's a self-defense tool? Because the Insatiables REMOVED IT when they finished their complete takeover in 2008.

Here's a recognition of the fact from a much earlier time, long before the takeover. Mass media were not fully bubbled yet in 1955; their writers and producers still had some connection and empathy with Deplorables. They occasionally helped Deplorables to defend themselves against Insatiables.

In this 1955 episode of 'Man behind the Badge', a smooth con-man is charming a lonely lady into handing over her life savings for a fake oil-well project.

Con man: Oh, my buddy gets lots of offers for his oil rights, but, you know, he's lived alone too long. Suspicious of people.

Lonely lady: Most people who live alone get that way.

Con man: There's a whole world waiting for them. All they have to do is walk out and meet it.

Lonely lady: It's not that easy.

Con man: Well, it is if you have money. Heh. I'm a fine one to talk about money. To me it's just something to spend.

... ...

Con man: I know some men in Canada who'll finance the project. I told them i'd spend their money as fast as they make it.

Lonely lady: Now perhaps if you would exercise a little THRIFT...

Con man:THRIFT???!!! Thrift is for the insecure and the frightened.

= = = = =

There it is. Direct and explicit. Thrift is a self-defense tool.

Insatiables have always used this siren song to pull Deplorables out of our natural defenses. "You don't want to be insecure and frightened, do you? You want to be just like us."

In 2008 they got tired of the inefficient process of deception and simply canceled out thrift entirely. No monetary reward for thrift, so you might as well "spend it as fast as you make it." Preferably a lot faster so we can charge you 30% on credit cards.

Many countries are already taking the next step, imposing a direct monetary FINE on thrift through negative interest. The final step is cashless economies.

  Negative juncture

Best proof that the 'overculture' is entirely removed from reality: They're still bashing the holographic image of KKK POPULIST TROLL NAZI HITLER TRUMP after the actual body of Trump has been completely sucked out and replaced with Hillary.

Hillary is still complaining that she lost after she won. Total control and total victory is NEVER ENOUGH for the Insatiables.

She "takes responsibility" for the loss while simultaneously blaming it on everyone else. She especially blames the loss on

The two words are united. You can hear that she WANTS to unite them even more. Zero juncture isn't enough; some kind of negative juncture is needed.

The Insatiables have been doing zero juncture with RUSSIANAGGRESSION for a couple years. Now they're extending it to RUSSIANWIKILEAKS.

What they really want is a complete merging of the words. This is possible in print:

and a similar trick is possible in music as well....

but I don't think there's a practical way to do it in speech. Simple mixing doesn't get there; you hear the two words separately but you don't automatically mix their meanings. Ideally the Insatiables want something like semantic coarticulation, so that RUSSIAN appears as the formants and WIKILEAKS appears as the fundamental.

  Both sides then?

Yesterday I repeated the usual facts about globalism in connection with Ratzinger's strong but incomplete indictment of modernism....
What he doesn't say, and perhaps doesn't understand, is that BOTH theocratic movements (Gaia and Allah) are funded and supported by the same globalists. Both obviously existed before the CIA got into the act, but since 1946 both "sides" have been boosted and organized by CIA and its associated foundations, corporations, etc.
I tried to pin down the connections between BOTH sides and postwar OSS/CIA.

Quds, the founder of Muslim Brotherhood, spent time in USA in 1948, but as far as I can tell he didn't have contact with intel types. When the Brotherhood hardened into al-Qaeda, CIA was unquestionably in control. So the connection on that side might have started in the postwar era but we know for sure that it started in the '80s. [I get the impression from available archives that OSS wasn't especially concerned with Arabs in those days; they were focusing on Jewish refugees from Europe arriving in Palestine/Israel. OSS felt that Russia was actively organizing and radicalizing the Jewish hardliners, so they wanted to get an equal share of the radicalizing pie.]

The other side was more definite. Madalyn Murray O'Hair, the leading atheist agitator of that period, had PLENTY of intel connections.
In April 1945, while posted to a cryptography position in Italy, she began a relationship with an officer, William J. Murray, Jr., a married Roman Catholic who refused to divorce his wife. ... In 1949, Murray completed a bachelor's degree from Ashland University. In 1952, she received an LL.B. degree from the then unaccredited South Texas College of Law; however, she failed the bar exam and never practiced law. On November 16, 1954, she gave birth to her second son, Jon Garth Murray, fathered by her boyfriend Michael Fiorillo. It was rumored that she sought to defect to the Soviet Union at their embassy in Paris, but that the Soviets denied her entry. ... In 1965, she married U.S. Marine and government informant Richard O'Hair. Although the marriage resulted in separation, she remained married to him until his death in 1978.
Perfect fit. All the standard symptoms. Cryptography. Thought she was serving Russia, but Russia knew who was really controlling her. Married a government informant.

  Auerbach and epistemology

From an article by Auerbach, pointed by Assange....
The underculture is the heterogeneous set of local, non-elite, non-corporate institutions and social groupings that went unnoticed before the dawn of social media, which allowed its members to network nationally and globally on a scale that had never before been realized, producing a number of echo chambers that were not moderated by elite influence. The underculture exists in rural America, as well as in non-elite, mostly non-white areas of cities and suburbs. It is not an economic divide per se, but a cultural one. Some of its groups are still invisible online, but the internet has enabled some groups of the underculture to speak loudly enough to be heard nationally.

If you went on 4chan in 2016, you were part of the underculture. If you read about 4chan in the news and believed what you read, you were part of the overculture.
The last sentence is wonderfully terse and precise.

I noticed this when I unplugged the TV in 2010. Before unplug, I'd been part of the overculture. I was hearing and reading bad stuff about "Islam", and I believed it, EVEN though I'd previously known several Persians and acquired a more balanced picture of Islam. My own direct experience was SHORTED OUT by the overculture injection. After unplug, experience floated back to the surface and I started reading more accurate info.

The Auerbach Rule applies to anything uncool. A physical occupation, an unfashionable activity, a real non-gated neighborhood, a real Natural Law religion, real direct-observation science, a jail, an "enemy" country. If you had direct experience of X you were part of the underculture. If you read about X in the mainstream media and believed what you read, you were part of the overculture. In some cases the overculture info about X is far more positive than reality; in others it's far more negative. It's always wrong.

We have an extreme problem with epistemology. The overculture has exactly zero knowledge of the real universe. Everything the overculture "knows" is either diametrically wrong or bizarrely delusional.

  Random notes

1. Advocates for 'tiny houses' often push ease of maintenance as a selling point. After 26 years in a very small house (500 sqft), I disagree.

Obviously a 5-bedroom house needs more cleaning and maintenance than a 1-bedroom house. But when you minimize rooms AND minimize square footage, everything gets harder and more expensive. You can't use vacuums and brooms properly, and repairs require considerably more labor and strategy. The default '50s house, around 900 sqft with two bedrooms and a big kitchen, is probably optimal.

2. Earlier I noted that the tobacco industry can feel secure against takeover by Amazon and Google.

3. One of the early radio periodicals took an unusual approach in describing and naming stations. Instead of treating the call letters as the main descriptor, this magazine took the owner as the descriptor. This made sense by analogy with previous business methods. The call letters were only an official license, not the name of the business. When you shop for clothing you think about Sears or Penneys, not Tax Permit 14246 or Corporate Charter 612-A.

So the daily schedule of KUS was listed as City Dye Works:

and the magazine recommended this sequence of stations for an interesting day's listening:

This method would be completely useless now, because one owner = one business is completely extinct. A recommended sequence now would be...

7:00 to 7:30 - Clear Channel LLC
7:30 to 8:00 - Clear Channel LLC
8:00 to 8:30 - Clear Channel LLC

...with no way to specify that these three items were separate stations on separate frequencies.

4. I was idly wondering ... All American jobs are being replaced by robots. Why not replace criminals by robots? ... Then the answer came ... Not all criminals, but terrorists HAVE BEEN replaced by robots. That's the whole point of the CIA/NSA cybercrime with fake identities, as revealed by Wikileaks. In the old days CIA had to blackmail and pay and honeytrap real live Americans into being "lone wolf terrorists" serving "Islam" or "Russia". Now they've robotized "terrorism". Much cheaper and more efficient to "invade" and "hack" via computer. Grab the money and information, leave "Russian" or "Arab" fingerprints all over the cyberscene.

= = = = =

5. Considering Deepstate as a dynastic family, like the Windsors or Bourbons, clarifies things. Both Bushes are birthright Deepstate. Prescott was a banker and served in Army Intel in WW1, so his sons and grandsons were birthright. George Senior was head of CIA. Can't get deeper than that. George Junior displayed no particular talent, but genes are thicker than alcohol, and he served the family beautifully. The Clintons weren't ethnically Deepstate (though Hillary was a distant cousin) but were adopted when young and brought up as Deepstate. Obama was thoroughbred Deepstate. Grandma was an investment banker, Grandpa was a leftist, Mom worked for CIA foundations overseas. All three legs of the tripod. Trump posed a giant problem because he was neither born royal nor adopted by royalty. He had to be GMO'd before he was allowed to campaign. Looks like the transplant succeeded.

Later edit: I didn't know much about Trump when I wrote that. Later I learned that Trump was Roy Cohn's last protege, which connects him firmly and dynastically to the NASTIEST end of Deepstate, the drug gangs and sex traffickers and blackmailers.

  Benny gets it ... partly

Pointed by EWTN, a short but POWERFUL statement from the real Pope. Main paragraph:
The topic of the conference brings government and Church officials into common dialogue on a topic that is of key significance to the future of our [European] continent. The contrast between the concepts of the radically atheistic state and the creation of the radically theocratic state by Muslim movements creates a dangerous situation for our age, one whose effects we experience each day. These radical ideologies require us to urgently develop a convincing concept of the state that will stand up to the confrontation between these challenges and help to overcome it.

In countries where the globalists have full power there's no chance of building a state or even a dominant culture that embraces Natural Law.

Outside the Sorosphere such states ALREADY EXIST and are EXPANDING.

That's exactly what Russia, Persia and Turkey are doing. Building states that run in resonance with the LOCAL culture and religion. A well-formed resonance will tend to bump out entities that have other natural frequencies.

  Congrats, President Clinton!

I see President Clinton got everything she wanted, and more, in the newly approved budget. Congrats, Hillary! I'm glad you stripped off the flimsy rubbery "Trump" costume that was mildly constraining your necessary demonic exercise routines. Now you're free to slaughter the universe. And more.

= = = = =

I've already returned USA STRONG to Soros territory on the map of Sorosia. This budget is an IN YOUR FACE PUNCH from Soros, not merely taking back what the fake image of "Trump" briefly and ephemerally hid, but claiming vast swathes of SOULS who had previously seemed to be less than fully satanized.

So we need a special edition of the map.

  What's the diff?

Two forms of blackface entertainment:

Older blackface entertainment:

= = = = =

Newer blackface entertainment:

#1 is universally considered OFFENSIVE UNTHINKABLE MUST BE EXTERMINATED.

#2 is universally considered HEROIC ANGELIC MUST BE REWARDED AND EMULATED.

Why?

Which of these entertainments casts black people in a better light? A humorous portrait of ordinary life, or a professional liar and habitual false accuser?

Later: A far more serious comparison. ZH cites a 'cry for help' from the mayor of Baltimore. Murder is running wild.

Let's compare the HORRIBLE VILE BIGOTED 1935 BALTIMORE of The Johnsons with the WONDERFUL HEAVENLY ENLIGHTENED 2017 BALTIMORE of The Dolezal. Note that The Johnsons appear to be an intact family, and none of them appear to be criminals. They are normal characters in a normal culture, with a normal black flavor. Was this a VILE VICIOUS BIGOTED STEREOTYPE, or was it a fair representation of a normal and functional culture?

Let's run the numbers.

In 1935 Baltimore was 17% black with a total population of 804k.

Baltimore had 12 murders in a total population of 804k, so the rate was 1.5 per 100k.

In 2017 Baltimore is 63% black. Baltimore estimates it will have 400 murders in a total population of 620k, so the rate for this year is estimated at 65 per 100k. (Last year's actual figure is 51 per 100k.)

Does the increase in blackness account for this? Not by a fucking long shot. Making the accurate assumption that most murders are in the black community, 17% to 63% is a multiple of 3.7, which would take the murder rate up to 1.5 * 3.7 = 5.6 per 100k solely by change in proportion.

The actual murder rate is TEN TIMES what it "should" have been if black proportion was the only variable.

Conclusion is obvious. The culture embodied in The Johnsons was VASTLY BETTER FOR BLACKS than the culture embodied in The Dolezal.

[Footnote 1: For those who aren't familiar with the story, Dolezal is far more than a symbol. By manipulating her fake "black"ness into leadership positions at NAACP and the Police Ombudsman Board, she ACTIVELY destroyed police power and normal culture.]

[Footnote 2: Those 1935 crime numbers seem remarkably low. As far as I can tell from reading the document, they are NOT percents or per 100k numbers. They are raw counts of murders, rapes, etc, in 1935. Reporting may have been sloppy, but the only rational conclusion is that 1935 crime was itself remarkably low.]

  Two auto history puzzles.

1. Henry Ford was a pure Populist. His cars made life easier for farmers and small businessmen, and his factories made life more prosperous for working men and their families. He avoided Wall Street like the plague, getting his capital from partners. He was firmly against war and nation-building, preferring to build THIS nation. And in fact he DID build this nation.

Billy Durant was the opposite. He was a pure entrepreneur. He loved playing with stocks and making companies. He didn't care about customers or employees, as long as his share value increased.

BUT: One odd factoid appears in an older Collectible Auto mag. I haven't been able to find any other references to this factoid. The Leland brothers founded Cadillac. Billy bought them out and kept them around as consultants. According to this story: In 1918 the Lelands wanted Cadillac to take on a defense contract for aircraft engines. "Billy was a pacifist" and refused to take on the contract, so the Leland brothers quit GM and founded another company, making Lincolns.

This doesn't fit. Wall Streeters LOVE war and nation-building. War and chaos and massive suffering and genocide are the BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS for share value and trading volatility. There are no pacifists or non-interventionists in the market.

The next known event in the Leland sequence also runs counter to the factoid. In 1922 Henry bought out Lincoln and kept the Lelands on as consultants. They DIDN'T quit, even though Henry was unquestionably a solid pacifist.

= = = = =

2. "Everyone knows" that free-wheeling was a gimmick to save fuel, and "everyone knows" that free-wheeling was abandoned because it didn't allow you to use the engine for braking downhill.

The first "everyone knows" is just plain false. Coasting doesn't save fuel unless you turn off the engine while coasting. Only professional Mobilgas Economy Run drivers pulled this sneaky trick, because restarting is risky ... and the best way to restart is by popping the clutch, which you can't do with free-wheeling.

The second "everyone knows" is partly true but doesn't bear logical analysis. Engine braking in high gear doesn't help much. You need to downshift to get useful retardation from the compression. BEFORE SYNCHROMESH, nobody downshifted. With an unsync'd transmission you can get away with minimal clashing on a well-timed upshift, but you need real skill to doubleclutch down into second. If you're going over 30, you're not going to think of downshifting anyway.

In fact free-wheeling was developed by Studie as an answer to GM's synchromesh, and in fact free-wheeling worked better than synchromesh.

Where did the "everyone knows"es come from? I'm betting they were fake news by GM, which enjoyed planting rumors to ruin competitors. Other examples (Airflow, streetcars) are well known. These fake facts would have helped GM's synchromesh to kill the superior competition.

  Efficient?

This article pointed by RCS looked potentially interesting:

I clicked on it and started waiting. The waiting got longer and longer, so I decided to start again with a clock. From click to full appearance: 3 minutes and 50 seconds. This is on the long side but NOT UNUSUAL nowadays.

This has gone way beyond my usual comparisons to mechanical processes.

I tried fetching a paper magazine from my bookshelf, finding an interesting article, putting the magazine in the bookholder at my eating table, and sitting down to read it. 30 seconds.

Fetching and drinking a full cup of coffee, fast but not guzzling: 1:30.

I tried reading the actual Discover article. 45 seconds.

Assuming I was already dressed to go out, I could walk a quarter mile in 3:50.

Technology has become a pure obstacle. It doesn't even make business sense. Why would Discover Magazine want to force people to spend 3:50 reading SOMETHING ELSE while waiting impatiently to see the Discover article?
