Aha. Discussing GM's synchromesh vs free-wheeling brought the answer. It's not about "Trump", it's simply and directly about RT. (And Wikileaks and other non-Sorosian sources.)

GM used fake news to kill the superior competition.

Non-Sorosian media provides a superior product. Anyone who recognizes reality can SEE that RT comes closer to reality than CNN/FOX/NBC/ETC.

A mafia sells inferior products, bootleg products, fake products, poisoned products. In a normal competitive market, such products won't command top prices. If people have the choice of poison vs non-poison, with good information and no external restraints, they will pay more for non-poison. Mafias have to ELIMINATE the real or superior product one way or another.

One way: Use raw force to kill the competing product.

Another way: Buy laws to prohibit the competing product.

Another way: Use rumors and blackmail to discredit the competing product.

Our dear beloved Free Press rarely uses raw force, but it specializes in rumors and blackmail. That's the purpose of the campaign against Russian media and ALL non-Sorosian media. Associate the superior product with danger and low status and poison.

As the GM-style rumor campaign reaches the point of diminishing returns, we see the Buy Laws method starting up, especially in Europe. France and Germany already prohibit many forms of truth, and EU is pushing Facebook to help with its suppression. Forcible shutdowns are increasing in Europe. Not quite up to speed here in USA STRONG. They're ginning up a prohibition of Wikileaks, but haven't acted on it yet.

Later thought: There's one major difference between the media mafia and the old-fashioned alcohol and drug mafia. A speakeasy or a drug dealer keeps a few containers of good stuff up front for show, or to get the habit started. Sorosian media GENUINELY CAN'T STAND TRUTH. They WORK FANATICALLY HARD, build highly effective walls, to prevent even a tiny scrap of truth from appearing anywhere NEAR their stores. No comments allowed, no responses, no letters from truth-tellers, no interviews with anyone who has EVER shown the SLIGHTEST SIGN of contact with reality.

Laterer: It's like an allergy, isn't it? If you live in a sterile environment from birth, never exposed to peanuts or pollen or bacteria or truth, you will have an extreme reaction to the allergen. If you were allowed to eat a random variety of foods, dig in the dirt, play with dogs and birds and fish, you were automatically exposed to reality when young.
