From 1950 to 2000, Jeeps were the only cars that didn't look like cars.

Since 2000, Jeeps are the only cars that look like cars. They have headlights, grilles, bumpers and fenders. All other cars are grotesque deep-sea monsters.

Another random auto thought. In 1954 Nash held a 'name this car' contest. They built a custom roadster using the same Austin engine as the Metropolitan, and invited entries to submit names. Did the winner get the car? NO. The car would be given to baseball star Ted Williams. Nash wasn't cheating. The ads for the contest were perfectly clear that the car would go to Williams. It wasn't fine print. But WHY? Why bother to enter a contest to give a prize to a rich dude who can afford anything he wants? Sucker Filter doesn't really fit. Nash wasn't trying to find gullible fools. In the end Williams hated the car and never drove it. He took the endorsement money without giving any value for the endorsement, then sold the car to some other rich dude, making money on both ends. Bastard.

A perfect opposite of Williams: Ricardo Montalban seemed to be just a paid endorser for the Chrysler Cordoba. He was a lot more. According to a stylist writing in Collectible Auto, Montalban took a proprietary interest in the car and visited the studio several times to watch the stylists at work. He wanted to know the car he was endorsing. That's impressive.

Separate random note: The quail are showing up this year, after several years of absence. They're fun to watch and easy to watch. Unlike Default Brown Birds, quail are confident. They don't fly away when they sense that I'm watching. Two of them have been standing on the porch for 15 minutes, just hanging out and observing the world. I've walked past the door several times, and we exchange glances every time.

Next morning, I found this on the porch:

So the quail wasn't standing on the porch, she was laying on the porch.

Undoubtedly an accident, an avian miscarriage. Still, I put it on the grass after picturing it. I don't want to be the one who forced the loss.

  Another meaningless audio hack
This recording is making the rounds. Dr Roger Hodkinson, with impeccable credentials in Alberta, is telling the absolute precise truth in a Zoom conference call.

There's nothing unusual or secret or surprising in what he's saying. Every human with a brain has known every bit of this since March. He's saying it especially clearly and powerfully, and his specific credentials would normally give his words authority.

There are several questions about the hack itself.

We don't know who Hodkinson is talking to. It sounds like a "public comment" session where some agency is required to let the usual cranks and gadflies make noise for a while. The only other name mentioned is S. Peterson, who was supposed to be the next commenter but wasn't on the line, so Hodkinson jumped in. The names of the actual participants and agency are not mentioned.

The call controller is clearly bored and "humoring the crazies", signaling the real people that they can sit back and jack off like Toobin.

Why was the hack released? Was it intended to show that the government is hearing the facts, and thus has no rational excuse for continuing to violate the facts?

If so, it's meaningless. The Public Death Officers already know the facts. Before March, they were functioning normally and performing the correct REAL PUBLIC HEALTH procedures for other diseases. The Public Death Officers are able to conduct the holocaust with perfect efficiency BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING. If they didn't already understand how to maintain immunity, they wouldn't be taking PRECISELY EVERY STEP NECESSARY TO UTTERLY ERADICATE IMMUNITY AND HEALTH. They'd miss a few things.

So the government doesn't need to be informed, and can't be pardoned for "cluelessness".

I notice that Youtube hasn't removed the clip and hasn't plastered it with the usual flashing neon THIS IS DISINFORMATION sign.

Simplest answer: The hacker is an insider who is discrediting Hodkinson, preparing to purge him and disbar him.

More complex answer: The hacker has vested interests in another company that provides tests, and wants to push the agency into choosing his company instead of Hodkinson's company.

Even more complex: The call itself is a sting, set up from the start to discredit Hodkinson. There wasn't any real meeting.

  Where is ordinary corruption?
Pfizer announces a 90% effective vaccine for the "virus". Normally this would be good news, and if we believe the alleged logic of the lockdowns and muzzles, we should be willing to take the vaccine and get rid of the lockdowns and muzzles. I'd be more than happy to do it, and I'd be willing to pay HUGE money for the vaccine if it would GUARANTEE no more lockdowns and muzzles.

The Big Science websites are firmly cheering the vaccine, as they should. Vaccines are REAL science and REAL public health. This is the first instance of REAL science in this 9-month-long hyperholocaust. Even Chief Holocauster Fauci is cheering for it!

I didn't expect it would work that way, and of course it won't work. We won't get the vaccine, and nothing will change. Science and logic are entirely flipped and reversed into total insanity beyond all imagination.

Lord Cuomo has already stated that he won't let New Yorkers take the vaccine because it happened during Trump. He will encourage other governor demons to halt the vaccine as well because it's a Trump vaccine. Mad Bomber Inslee won't need any encouragement.

Where are the adults? What happened to ALWAYS FOLLOW FAUCI? Where is ordinary commercial self-interest? Why doesn't Pfizer come out and knock Cuomo down for being an anti-vaxxer? Why don't the establishment Big Science websites knock him down?

There are no Republicans in Big Science, and no Republicans anywhere in Pfizer. That's automatic. None of those people were doing it for Trump. They were doing it for profit and for real science, both honorable motives. They sure as hell weren't doing all that work to provide Cuomo with another way to be a mass murderer.

Why don't they defend their own POLITICAL PURITY from Cuomo, if they won't defend their profit and science?

If we can't believe in a vaccine because it happened during Trump, then how come we have to believe in the "virus" itself, which also happened during Trump?

  Was this new or just deceptive?
An intriguingly vague innovation in a 1960 issue of Westinghouse Engineer, newly added to American Radio Library.

This was clearly one way of making ICs, but it doesn't sound the same as the path already started by Intel in 1958. The Intel method resulted in identifiable components formed as part of the same layered substrate by controlled etching.

This Westinghouse proposal sounds more like the whole substrate is participating, with loosely defined areas serving as complete functions, not individual R and C and transistor. Later iterations of ICs came closer to this idea, but still have mainly distinct and identifiable components.

This involves a new concept in the design and function of electronic systems, called "molecular electronics," to indicate its dependence on phenomena occurring within or between domains of molecules in the solid state.

As one accomplishment of the joint program, a variety of molecular electronic "function blocks" are being produced, three of which are shown in Fig. 1; these solid-state elements achieve, entirely within themselves, electronic results previously gained only by assembling many varied items of electronic hardware. Because of this, these elements are not intended as "components," such as transistors and tubes, but rather as "subsystems." Examples of functions performed by function-blocks are such electronic operations as amplification, oscillation, and telemetering.

Was this just a poorly worded description of the Intel process, or an intentionally deceptive description for competitive and patent purposes, or an entirely different concept? Hard to tell.

The idea of custom-shaping a component to serve an entire function was already familiar before ICs, in the microwave realm where every wire and transistor and space between components is unavoidably acting as inductor and capacitor. The entire system needs to be designed physically and geometrically all at once, more like a sculpture than a schematic. The article doesn't start from this familiar concept.

I didn't have to look far to find the answer. The 1930s episodes of 'Strange as it Seems' that I always include in my bedtime playlist offered a perfect example. Strange was sponsored by ExLax. During the winter, the ExLax ads were aimed at parents:

How should you keep your kids healthy in cold and flu season? Make sure they eat right, get plenty of sleep, get exercise, and stay regular.

Well, regularity may not be the MOST important part of the recipe for health and immunity, but it is ONE part, and the ads gave good and true advice with a commercial slant.

That's how it WAS. That's how it COULD be again if we ever regain a picosmidgen of sanity.

  What's a Prueter? /// Edit: probably answered.
Looking at a 1934 issue of Shortwave Radio News. In '34 the FCC was getting fully organized for the first time, with all sorts of new regulations and changes.

At that time police two-way radio was in two bands, one just above the BCB at 1500-1800, and the other around 2400 Kc. Roughly 2/3 of the stations were around 2400, the rest around 1700.

Here's the puzzle:

In addition to stations licensed for police service in the conventional medium - high frequency band - there are outstanding at this time experimental authorizations which permit 50 municipalities to operate 125 stations in the ultra-high frequency range, in the neighborhood of Prueters.

Prueters? It's capitalized, not a blur or obvious misprint. I'm familiar with radio terminology from that era and never heard the word. Google doesn't help; lots of people named Prueter and businesses named Prueter's, but no references that would make any sense in this context.

Do they mean geographical neighborhood or frequency neighborhood? It can't be geographical, because there isn't a city or county named Prueter or Prueters.

Frequency neighborhood seems more likely. Was a Prueter a machine that prueted? Would the readers recognize this frequency range by familiarity with Prueter machines or Prueter-type transmitters?

Was Prueter a brand name for something like a diathermy machine?

The actual FCC publication (p 42 of this PDF) clarifies the frequency but doesn't mention Prueters. The "ultra-high" band being tried by some police depts was around 30 Mc, which is also a typical range for diathermy. The official assignments for diathermy are 27.12 and 40.68 Mc. Still doesn't solve the mystery. Could be diathermy, could be pretty much anything.

Later and better thought: 30 Mc is a wavelength of 10 meters. The assigned area was just over 30, which would be 9 meters. In the neighborhood of 9 meters is a common way of expressing frequency. Was Prueters a linotypist's misread of a handwritten manuscript? A written m can be misread as ru, and 9 could become P. 9meters = Prueters. See p 77 in this 1935 Gernsback mag.

  Just one question
The panicators don't believe immunity exists. They are running this shutdown shit on the base assumption that humans are passive inanimate objects.

The constant focus on CASES is the plainest indicator. Simple fact: When an airborne virus is in a community, EVERYONE acquires it. If you aren't infected, it means you were already dead and not breathing. When we focus on preventing people from ENCOUNTERING the virus, we are EXPLICITLY PREVENTING IMMUNITY. Normal public health focuses on emphasizing and strengthening immunity, because immunity is the ONLY real defense against a microbe. This was common knowledge in previous decades and centuries.

Question: Since these monsters don't believe in immunity, why are they bothering to develop a vaccine?

Followup question: What will happen to ALL diseases now that we have DELETED THE ENTIRE CONCEPT OF IMMUNITY? If we continue inverting and flipping all the normal techniques and understandings of public health, ALL diseases will run rampant, and the shutdown will need to be absolute. Everyone must be contained in capsules with no inputs or outputs. In other words, coffins.

This is the purpose of the panicators, and they're reaching it FAST in some places.

Reminder: Sorosian countries never solve a problem. We always make problems worse with our "solutions". This has been true for a long time in many different fields and subjects. Until now this rule wasn't extended to public health. Now it is.

Reviewing yesterday's thought that labor unions were banks for human capital. They improved skills through training and experience (interest); they protected skills from low-priced competition and theft (vaults); and they made sure the skills were employed to create real value (investment).

The Soviet system continued this respect for human capital long after it was lost in the Soros world. Free training that emphasized skills; no offshoring of industries; and patents that recognized innovation instead of killing it.

I got into a grumpy mood today, comparing things that I shouldn't try to compare. I can't really complain; my creative work is recognized in a small way and paid in a small way. Not entirely futile. The work itself is tremendously satisfying.

Still, it's annoying to see what gets MASSIVELY recognized and paid. Pure destruction. Raw sin and crime. Killing and torturing millions of people. Obliterating the universe by making black holes. Using science to serve bankers and intel agencies.

And specifically on this topic, the Github Syndrome. Constant changes in technology, always expanding the required universe of compatibility. Each increase in global compatibility knocks out huge pieces of skill. It's not just a question of changing a presentation to fit the new tech; some forms of presentation that were possible in the Windows universe are IMPOSSIBLE in the HTML/SVG/CSS universe. Even if you can make it work for one combination of browsers and iPhones, it won't work for some other.

Just as globalized language grinds off all fine points of metaphor and idiom, globalized tech grinds off the fine points of interactive presentation.

Big question: If labor unions had survived into the era of software, would they have improved things? Would a union manage to slow down the Githubbers?

  Hard to find analogies
Catch and release is a peculiar tactic when you think about it.

The courts and the cops are two parts of the same system. They derive their funding from the same tax revenue, and nominally respond to the same legislature.

The courts INTENTIONALLY release criminals who LEGALLY should be kept in jail, and the cops then have to RISK THEIR LIVES 80% of the time to repeatedly arrest the same few professional criminals who will then be released in an hour to create more havoc.

I can't think of any other system that dysfunctions this way.

Try some examples:

1. Chevy repairmen have to spend 80% of their time sending the same few engines back to the GM factory, which then returns the engines immediately, untouched, with a "fully rebuilt" tag.

2. Hairstylists have to spend 80% of their time on the same three women, who report to the Hairstylists Union immediately to have their hair misstyled by the Hairstylists Union so the regular stylists can redo the same cut.

3. Programmers have to spend 80% of their time debugging the same program over and over, because the beta testers working for the same company undo each bugfix immediately after they receive it for testing.

These examples are bizarre nonsense.

In each job there are real repeat offenders: Unfixable engines, stubbornly unbeautifiable women, bugs that pop up over and over. But the real repeats are NOT created by saboteurs within the same company. In these normal situations the parts of one company cooperate to solve or eliminate the problem. Melt down the unfixable engines, politely dissuade the unstylable women, discard the bad programs and start over with fresh code.

  Flipping the other way
Earlier today I talked about the duty of beauty, and a magnificent flip.

I understand people who take ugliness ... or even prosaic dullness ... as a reason to create beauty, no matter how big or small. Write a symphony, plant a flower. That's the exact definition of life. Ingest chaos, create order and complexity and beauty.

I don't understand people who intentionally create ugliness.

For many years I've been following the decline and momentary fake rise of an abandoned building in this neighborhood. During a decade of vacancy Nature wasn't doing much harm. The basically pretty building was holding its own against snow and wind. Two years ago meth-addled squatters moved in, and decline accelerated dramatically. Windows broken, fires started. Finally the city bought out the original owner and forced a sale.



Supposedly the buyer was required to tear down the building and put up new housing on the large lot. The buyer didn't demolish; instead, they started to renovate. They fenced off the lot, reshingled the roof...



... pulled out the windows and doors and drywall ....



... and that's all. Now the building has been wide open for six months, and all signs of construction have stopped.

Why? What's the gain? The squatters were breaking the windows, now the windows are all wide open to rain and snow and squirrels and rats. The roof is new, but it's not sheltering anything. The fence may be keeping squatters out, but nobody is supervising, so I doubt it will last much longer.

I don't understand the long holding by the original owners, and I don't understand the behavior of the new owners. Neither makes sense by ordinary business purposes. Supposedly the purpose of owning an apartment building is to rent out the apartments and gain profit. Spokane is seriously short of rentals now, so the apts would rent quickly.

The original owners were paying property taxes and risking lawsuits for 10 years, with no gain. The new owners spent a considerable amount for construction crews, with no gain. No tenants, no rent coming in, property tax and potential lawsuits still going out.

There must be a profit-based reason for this "Creative Destruction" and profitless expense. Tax dodge? Using the LLC as a shell for illegal activities?

I don't understand.

  The other part of the "vacation"
For some reason I was thinking about the 1962 family "vacation" to visit dying Grandpa. I've already written about Grandpa's noble attempt to teach me about life. Grandpa was trying to immunize me against the delusions of the "liberal" parents by illustrating ACCURATE OBSERVATION. The vaccine didn't really activate until 1969 in jail, when those delusions collided head-on with serious reality. Then I saw what Grandpa was trying to say.

Other things were happening on that same "vacation". My ball-clipping mother was seemingly trying to visit all of her old boyfriends, showing my father how inadequate he was by comparison with the men she could have clipped.

This part of the "vacation" failed.

One of her old boyfriends owned a gas station and had a nice house, but he didn't have a happy life. He suffered from what we'd now call PTSD from WW2, and made life hell for everyone around him, including visitors.

The other old boyfriend was an undertaker. He decided to entertain the visitors by embalming a body while we watched. He explained how the big needle injected the embalming fluid, showed the color changing, explained what happened after burial.

DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN, or did I make up the memory? It must have happened. It's too fucking weird to make up.

  Is Trump actually doing something right?
Trump's tariffs are hated by NYC, which is a good sign to start with. NYC loves genocide and hates life.

More specifically, the tariffs are starting to influence business decisions in the CORRECT direction. Ford has decided NOT to import a car from its China factories "claiming that President Trump’s tariffs compromised the business case for bringing the vehicle to the U.S. market."

Also, one US aluminum producer is starting to get more business, and has increased its workforce.

These are small changes so far, but might presage a larger move after things settle out???? Probably not, but we can pretend to hope.

  Non-barking fuckheads
The demons illegitimately posing as "attorney generals" of various states, and the black-robed District Demons in the Federal Demon System, had been suing Trump for enforcing existing Federal laws EVERY FUCKING DAY from the inauguration until.... when?

I'm thinking specifically of Emperor Ferguson, the incalculably wicked psychopathic alien monsterblob criminally and fraudulently squatting in the office of "attorney general" here in Wash, and Emperor Orrick The Third, the District Demon in Hawaii. Both of them got up every morning, showered in Demon Water, drank a cup of Soros Brand Demon Juice, and spent all day suing Trump for his crime of Not Being Hillary. It didn't matter that Trump was doing exactly the same things Hillary would do. His offense was ONTOLOGICAL.

Sometime in the last month or two, the suing abruptly stopped. Trump's behavior hasn't changed; he's still enforcing EXISTING laws, just as Obama did. But now Emperor Ferguson and Emperor Orrick The Third aren't suing.

What happened? Did Trump suddenly start pushing back? Did he start using mob tactics against these infinitely crazy mobsters? Or did somebody in the Demon System realize that daily suing wasn't going to give the desired result?

I'm tempted to cite the Putin-Trump summit, when Trump openly surrendered to Deepstate's need for war after initially "misspeaking" for peace. That would be a rational correlation, but I think the shutoff happened earlier.

  Constants and variables 98, poets and peasants edition
Article in Collectible Auto, Dec 2015, tells the story of Walter Chrysler taking over Maxwell, first turning it into a better car, then leveraging it into his own brand. WPC was working as a Turnaround Man for bankers, and he was advising both Willys and Maxwell. Willys was overextended by unwise mergers but had a good car. [And STILL has a good car 96 years later!] Maxwell didn't have a good car. WPC stole engineers from Willys and set them to work on Maxwell, then took over the company.

In other words, WPC made his money the old-fashioned way, by hard work and lots of theft.

At the end of the article WPC is quoted:

There is in manufacturing a creative joy that only poets are supposed to know.

This doesn't sound like the usual press agent or ghostwriter product, so I'm going to assume it's a genuinely heartfelt quote. It's damn close to poetry.

The first part is VASTLY more important now than in the '20s. Men are meant to make things. A man who can make things and see them to completion is happy**. A man who can't make things because all the factories have moved to Bangladesh is not happy. He may jump off a bridge or he may turn to crime.

Make or break.

But the latter part is wrong now, and I'm not sure it was valid then. Only poets are supposed to experience the joy of creation? Certainly false now. The purpose of a poet is to drive readers to suicide and then commit suicide. Death all around, no joy at all.

Most paid poets in the '20s were on God's side, making more beauty and value, enriching the lives of readers. Did they experience a special joy? Seems likely, but impossible to prove.

When the master wants the slave to perform well, the master uses carrots and sticks. Threats of blackmail and volcanic insult eruptions if the "president" disobeys, public praise and closing the blackmail file if the "president" obeys.

On the normal slave side:

The slave obeys to remove the threat and to gain rewards. If the master continues to add more threats AFTER the slave gives all of his loyalty and work, the slave REBELS or GIVES UP. When you have nothing to lose, your soul breaks and you lose everything.

In the NixonTrump situation, neither side is behaving normally. The master continues pulling out more blackmail files WHILE the slave is performing perfectly, and offers no hint of throttling the volcano.

Even if we assume that NixonTrump is a pre-staged puppet who chose from the start to serve the masters, the motivation doesn't make sense. Why would you choose to sacrifice everything for infinite pain and zero gain?

Biggest puzzle: Why does NixonTrump continue to emit rebellious noises even after EVERYONE has realized he's a puppet?

I don't understand.

  Not exactly Hell's Angels, but what?
Latest item at KSHS is a complete riddle. It's dated 1909. Shows a large gathering of motorcyclists in downtown Colby. The cycles are well-equipped, not crude or homemade. Most of the men are dressed more like cowhands than cyclists of the era. Stetsons, not leather caps. There are professionally painted signs saying "27" and "2727" on several buildings.

The photographer seems to have been just as puzzled as the KSHS describer. Written on the negative: "Wondering what next at Colby".

Were they trying to replace horses with cycles for ranch work?

Each multi-celled animal has about a trillion cells, each performing as above. There is no conductor. Each cell is listening to the total performance and transposing keys or improvising cadenzas to enhance and sustain the total performance.

10:20PM BAM BAM BAM

Sounded just like a knock on the door. Got up fast, got dressed, turned on porch light, nothing. Opened door, looked around, nothing. Neighbor across the street turned on porch light just after that; maybe responding to my unusual light, maybe responding to same noise?

Looked around the house, nothing broken or fallen. No wind tonight. No indication of earthquakes. Checked SpokaneNews facebook, nobody reporting crashes or breakins.

I've learned through the years that a single noise causing wakeup from deep sleep often 'registers' as three noises. Apparently passing through stages in the auditory system that are normally inhibited.

Probably never know. Might have been a random knock, might have been house thermal clunk, might have been the stupid Chineseshit refrigerator which occasionally issues an unbelievably loud BANG as part of its defrosting action.

Two statements.

1. Ever since 1990, USA STRONG has been destroying and chaotizing every country that displeases Israel.

2. Ever since 1990, USA STRONG has been destroying and chaotizing every country that displeases Saudi.

Both of the above statements are true, because Saudi and Israel want to destroy the exact same list of countries.

Sometimes I've blamed Saudi, sometimes I've blamed Israel, but I never stopped to ask the basic question:

WHY are those two lists identical?

Saudi and Israel would seem to have totally separate REASONS for wanting to destroy a country.

Supposedly Saudi is acting on the Sunni/Shia difference, which is really an ethnic difference.

Supposedly Israel "feels threatened" by the countries on the list, so it wants to eliminate them as threats.

When the result is the same, you have to wonder if the two apparent motivations are really one.

But what is it?

In the end it doesn't matter, because we shouldn't be working for ANY other country. We shouldn't be starting wars for ANY reason.
