I was lethally tired of blaming the voters MANY years ago. Commentators always tell WeThePeople to use our sacred Vote and hold leaders accountable. When leaders do evil, it's WeThePeople's fault. WeThePeople neglected our sacred duty and voted for Horrible Other Party instead of Angelic Correct Party.

Fuck off. We've been following your orders forever and it NEVER WORKS. Elections are rigged from top to bottom. The count doesn't matter because real opponents are never allowed to GET IN the election.

Schachtel, who is a pretty good truth-teller, still fails to understand this basic problem (or intentionally fails). He narrates the timeline of China and the "virus" accurately, then:

Deepstate always shapes and relabels its actions to "point" at the currently fashionable witch.

If you want us to do something, you need to specify an action that will not be WORSE THAN FUTILE.

Hold accountable? How?

Hold their feet to the fire? How?

Those questions were already meaningless before the current holocaust. Now they're vastly worse than meaningless.

There's NO POSSIBLE WAY TO INFLUENCE A PSYCHOPATH. All we can do is avoid exciting the demons into a killing frenzy.

Torches eventually burn out. In the more fortunate cases, the burners halt after they start burning their own.

There's only one cure for a demon after it tastes blood and turns feral. Curing only a few will make things INFINITELY worse. The cure would have to be done all at once on all demons from top to bottom. Physically impossible.

Another brief historical tidbit from the Geographical Spice book. This one is dubious, since the author had an undisguised contempt for "primitives". Still, it probably contains a core of truth.

Some of the native tribes of South Africa have the dreadful custom of abandoning their old men and women. They build a fence about them, place beside them a little fire and water with food, and leave them to perish of starvation.

I don't know if the tribes of Africa did this, but the tribes of Europe and USA are unquestionably doing this.

Exactly this. On the fucking dot.

When the proverbial Martian archeologists untangle the dense layers of evil surrounding this holocaust, I suspect this is what they will find.

The current rebranding of death, generally attributed to "virus", is a concentrated slaughter of old and "useless" people. Fence them in, leave them a little bit of food, and let them die. ("Useless" as defined by Soros and Bezos and Singer.)

This has been the universal norm in academia for EXACTLY one thousand years. We saw it first with Ockham. Fashion has ALWAYS overruled truth.

Rule by experts is newer in corporate circles. It began with Taylorism 100 years ago. (Incidentally, Hartness tried to counteract Taylorism with a focus on the skills and life of the MAN who was doing the work.)

Rule by experts is newest in politics, where it began in 1946 and grew tremendously with the "global warming" coup in 1975.

So what's really new? Only the universal worldwide precisely synchronized application of genocide justified by demonic "experts".

Real experts who are NOT amateurs have been getting into the argument, and have not been destroyed. Starting with Ioannidis and continuing in Great Barrington, many currently employed academics in epidemiology and related fields have been steadfastly opposing the misuse and obliteration of science and logic and life.

AFAIK, none of these internal dissidents have been fired or jailed. They take lots of verbal abuse on Twitter, and some public outlets have deleted their writings, but that's not new or tyrannical. Public outlets are publishers, and dissidents have never been entitled to have their writings published by the establishment. Dissidents of earlier eras would marvel at the ease of publication and the wide range of available paths. They wouldn't have EXPECTED to be paid by broadcast studios or newspapers.

Unfashionable thoughts have never been "monetized". The monetizers have always worked with Deepstate because THAT'S WHERE THE MONEY IS. Dillinger's rule.

Ideology is NOT the dividing line. Ideology is a permanent set of ideas. Our dividing line is strictly BRANDS and TEAMS, just as it was for Sprenger and Kremer and Hitler.

Github/Room 101 is the exact opposite of ideology. The ruling brand switches ideas FAST. You need to know at all times what the rulers want you to think, and you need to be ready with a new set of fake "facts" and ideas to oppose the ideas that you were supporting one microsecond ago.



FAST CHANGE IS THE SOLE PURPOSE. Fanatical cults rely on dizzying switches and spins of ideas and "facts".

Tyrants have always conflated permanent qualities with team requirements. Hitler claimed that he was purifying the world of non-Aryans, which is a permanent genetic category. But his category changed constantly to include nations that worked with him and exclude nations that opposed him. The official definition of Aryan included many non-Nordic groups and excluded many Nordic groups.

Similarly in modern times, the IDENTIFIES AS nonsense has prepared us for the form of this holocaust by confusing and conflating all genetic categories. Race and gender are "constructs", which means BRANDS or TEAMS. Now we're fighting a "virus" that only infects non-Aryans. Muzzles are meant to protect Aryans from non-Aryan cooties. Non-Aryans include some members of every real race and gender. Aryans are the D team, non-Aryans are the R team. Anyone who fits the R model as defined at the current microsecond is a superspreader.

Real viruses don't know anything about team labels. Real viruses ARE real genes in the strictest sense, and they only know about real genes. Real genetic categories, real ethnicity and gender, have different responses to a real virus. This is perfectly clear in the different real infection rates of Caucasians, Orientals, and Africans. We persist in trying to attribute these differences to political and ideological causes, as we have always done with other innate talents and tendencies. This misattribution leads to horribly and INTENTIONALLY WRONG decisions.

  This is stupid.
For some reason I'm highly discouraged today by the failure of discussion and debate and facts to have any influence on demons.

This discouragement is STUPID. I've known for a LONG time, probably since 1975, that discussion is meaningless. I noticed it when I was a student, then proved it when I was teaching.

Lectures don't teach. Working with reality in a systematic way teaches. Sometimes a discussion during the work can clarify the learning, but it's secondary.

Learning arises from encountering a specific piece of reality at a moment when you're open to it. Sometimes the openness comes from frustration, sometimes it just happens.

I shouldn't expect ANYTHING, facts or debates or experience, to influence demons. I've known this since 1969 when I shared a prison cell with a psychopath.

Maybe today is just a discouraged day, and I'm misattributing the overall mood to the failure.

  Good advice, stupid reasons
Birzer at Imaginative Conservative recommends pulling away from social media and big tech as much as possible without losing function and employment. Unquestionably good and necessary advice. Every minute spent on social media is intended to create fear and depression. Even the writers and aggregators on the "good" side need clicks, and they create clicks by generating fear and panic. It's unavoidable.

Birzer goes badly astray when he tries to analyze the basis of the current tyranny. He properly rejects Orwell's pure state-centered dystopia, then improperly rejects Huxley's corporate dystopia and accepts Bradbury's idea that the tyranny comes from the masses.

Again, what matters so critically in these passages is that the tyranny comes from the demands of the Masses, not from the central government. In Bradbury’s understanding, the government might very well be wicked and evil, but it would always follow the lead of the Masses and become their tool, rather than the other way around.

Throughout his career, Bradbury spoke bravely and openly against “political correctness,” recognizing it for the evil and the tyranny it is. In 1953, it was against Joseph McCarthy. “Whether or not my ideas on censorship via the fire department will be old hat by this time next week, I dare not predict,” he wrote, but “when the wind is right, a faint odor of kerosene is exhaled from Senator McCarthy.”

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.

Deepstate NEVER follows the masses. Deepstate tells the masses what to do and what to say and where to protest, then "follows" the protests that agree with Deepstate's desires. The "opposite" side of the protests, also generated by Deepstate, gives Deepstate a way to identify and exterminate dissidents and "terrorists".

This is extremely well-known by everyone who has been part of the protests at any time from 1968 to now. It was also true of the "anti-slavery" protesters in 1860.

McCarthy was NOT representing the masses. He was representing Roy Cohn, the deep dark heart of the blackmail branch of Deepstate. Trump was ALSO trained and created by the very same Roy Cohn with the very same flavor and purpose. If Bradbury didn't understand this, he was a fool who isn't worth following. More likely he did understand it and was part of the tyranny. If he had been an actual dissident, he couldn't have been published at all. The fact that he was published and got rich from his books, and his books were taught in schools, tells you ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.

More subtly, some of Birzer's advice may also be flawed. The "alternative" media, if they're big enough to make a splash, are not alternative. They're just another way for Deepstate to identify "terrorists". They certainly don't do a better job of preserving privacy, as I verified with Parler. It's better to stick with the big names, use them sparingly and carefully, and avoid cellphones entirely. Small fish in big pond is just naturally harder to detect than big fish in small pond.

Footnote: McCarthy was dangerous, but NOT for the standard reasons. His lists exposed Soviet spies and "unfairly" tarnished "noble liberals". CIA already knew the real spies and knew how to work with them to avoid KGB eruptions, and KGB knew how to work with our real spies to avoid CIA eruptions. Real spies are playing an old and well-ordered game that preserves peace when it works properly. Exposing some of the real spies meant that KGB would have to send new spies who weren't already known, thus costing CIA extra effort. But that wasn't the serious problem. McCarthy was mainly dangerous because those "noble liberals" were Deepstate's FAKE Soviet agents who were obliterating American culture and civilization while blaming the destruction on Russia. That's why he needed to be discredited and Unpersoned.

Later thought: Generating fear and panic is universal among media on all "sides". The aggregators on the skeptic side often exaggerate the lockdowns, or make it sound like the lockdown is getting stricter when it's actually getting slightly looser. (Lockdowns should not exist AT ALL, but that doesn't justify misstating the changes.) Because the governments are trying to destroy truth and logic, skeptics should feel an obligation to get the facts RIGHT, not overstating or understating reality.

Why doesn't anyone try to get clicks by making you FEEL HAPPY AND CONFIDENT? Other types of business do. Food sells because it tastes good, not because it makes you feel sick. Cars sell because they make you feel masterful while driving, not because they make you feel weak and endangered. American media in previous decades included some fear-makers, but mainly sold empathy and confidence and respect and real education. Where did these motives go? Surely the same method would work now. People haven't changed, and our appetite for empathy is vastly larger now because NOBODY is trying to satisfy it.

Another 'non-functional' feature in many of God's designs is cross-species communication.

This study starts with an annoying sentence but is mainly sympathetic and objective.

After months of technology-based communication enforced by COVID-19, many of us are missing a "live" human voice. But we're not the only ones -- a new study reveals that cows also prefer a face-to-face chat. The research, published in Frontiers in Psychology, discovers that cows are actually more relaxed when spoken to directly by a live human, rather than when listening to a recorded voice via a loudspeaker.

Annoying: Malign misattribution. The poor little virus, if it even exists, didn't cause ANY of this shit. ALL of this shit was invented and enforced by demonic psychopaths running governments and "medical" holocaust chambers. The purpose of this shit is to give demonic pleasure to the psychopaths.

With that out of the way, the basic finding is unsurprising to people who have been around dogs and cats. All cats and most dogs simply ignore electronic channels. Noise from a machine is irrelevant. A few dogs have the unusual ability to extrapolate the voice on a telephone or speaker to an actual human who isn't present.

It's not clear what's missing. Maybe just the visible presence, or maybe a more complete sense signature of a live human involving smell and brain waves.

Again the interesting question is why God created the facilities for communication between species that don't interact in nature. You can see a straightforward purpose in the multisensory channels between bees and flowers. Both sides get material benefits from the interaction. But cows, dogs, cats, and humans aren't normally found in the same place, and don't have any natural commensal or symbiotic connection.

Later thought: Humans would be better off if we adopted the cat view of machines. Noise from a TV or radio machine is irrelevant, even if it sounds like a human and looks like a human.

  Non-news about non-orders from a non-skeptic
In the distant past, Radio Moscow offered a genuine opposition view. It was naturally self-serving, but it was often correct. Now RT simply runs the same nonsense as any other US media.

Non-news today:

Three major federal agencies have forged ahead with plans to host critical race theory training for their employees, teaching them to "co-resist" and check their white privilege, slides posted by researcher Christopher Rufo show.

The events, scheduled at the State Department, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Veterans’ Administration (VA) in open defiance of a White House memo banning them, are going to deal with “racial equity,” “white fragility” and “microaggressions,” Rufo tweeted on Monday, publishing photos of the training slides he somehow obtained.

Well of course. This is how Trump works. He issues "orders" that are carefully crafted to be non-orders, allowing the agencies to do what they want. Because the agencies are "opposing" Trump, their actions encourage the murderers and enrage the Deplorables. An enraged Deplorable is easier to identify and slaughter.

For a few weeks after the 2017 inauguration, the bureaucrats walked carefully, more or less obeying Trump's "orders" in case he was serious. By March 2017 they figured out the trick or received reassurance from Trump. They simply resumed doing what they always do. Enriching Soros and Bezos and killing everyone else.

RT, following the Fox "side" of the puppet script, helps to enrage the Deplorables about the "disloyal" agencies, which are really serving the same master as Trump.

Calibrating: Looking back through March 2017 to re-locate the item about the "climate" bureaucrats, it's clear that I was slower and stupider than the bureaucrats. Even while I marked the end of bureaucratic obedience, I hadn't really figured out the whole trick. I was still holding out hope for some of Trump's cabinet appointments who seemed to be saying the right things. Trump fired them quickly and replaced them with reliable Deepstaters.

An intriguing item from Belarus. For once, this isn't about Lukashenko or "viruses"!

A group of Hasidim in Belarus were trying to make a pilgrimage to a holy site in Ukraine. Ukraine wouldn't let them in, so they got stuck in a 'neutral zone' until they could filter back through the red tape of border crossings.

As BelTA reported earlier, over 1,000 Hasidic pilgrims gathered in the neutral zone between Belarus and Ukraine. They were traveling to the holy site in the city of Uman, Ukraine. The Novi Yarylovychi checkpoint has been closed until 27 September. The Jews remained at the Ukrainian border in the hope of reaching their destination, where they planned to celebrate the New Year according to the their national calendar.

The incident isn't especially important or injurious to the Hasidim; it just shows clearly where they are welcome and where they are unwelcome. They're welcome in Soviet Belarus and unwelcome in "free" "democratic" Ukraine.

The big names in the project switched in unison to "regretting" the bomb at the same moment in 1946 when Deepstate started to recover from FDR's constraints and started to kill everyone again.

Here's the partial correlation. The jailing side always says that a godlike abstraction requires them to kill or jail you; but their description and understanding of the godlike abstraction is PERFECTLY WRONG. It's most obvious in "global warming" and "evolution" and "virus".

With "global warming", the environmentalists always say that "the environment" requires them to kill us. But their understanding of "the environment" is backwards, omitting all the negative feedback and adaptation.

With "evolution", the Darwinists say that Darwin requires them to silence dissent. But their understanding of Darwin disagrees with Darwin himself on every major point. The Darwinists don't believe in genes, while the non-Darwinists do believe in genes.

With the Haute-Couture Branded Virus, the torturers say that the virus itself or the epidemic itself requires lockdowns and torture. Exactly backwards. Our immune system works when we live a normal healthy life, without being imprisoned or starved or tortured or forced to recirculate our own breath. All of these measures are EXPLICITLY DESIGNED TO DESTROY IMMUNITY, designed to CREATE AND EXPAND an epidemic.

The non-lockdowners don't bother to cite the virus itself because we know the real reason for the torture.

Off-Guardian reports a sequence of events that I hadn't heard before. The president of Burundi did the same thing as the president of Tanzania. Kicked WHO out and stuck with real science and real health. His country stayed healthy.

But he didn't get a chance to stay healthy. He was murdered "by the virus", then instantly replaced by a globalist slave who imposed the universal lockdowns.

This halfway answers the big question I've been asking. What was the threat behind the order given to all world leaders? The threat was "You will die immediately and we will attribute your death to the virus that you supposedly failed to control."

Standard operating procedure for Inquisitions and Witch Hunts.

But this doesn't explain the other exceptions, Sweden and Belarus and Tanzania.

Another commenter noted that the Tanzanian president had a big military general standing beside him when he kicked out WHO, non-verbally informing the Sorosians that they would have to get through his defenses first. [I went back and looked at the video. Sure enough, a BIG general!]

Lukashenko of Belarus undoubtedly has a similarly loyal military, as well as loyal people. He has served the country well by maintaining the Soviet tradition.

This still doesn't explain the survival of Lofven in Sweden, who is new to power and has a fragile parliamentary majority and a weak military.

This article gives details of a 'hacker dump' from communications between FBI and local police departments. Unsurprisingly and typically, the local cops are basically honest, trying to keep FBI's monstrosity at arms length.

I wrote a comment to that effect, then realized that I was missing the bigger point.

Local police are doing the job that GOVERNMENT WAS MEANT TO DO. Fuck the shit about "rights" in the Declaration. That was the opening salvo of Deepstate's war on civilization. In fact governments were created to protect ordinary people from criminals and invaders.

Local police are the ONLY part of government that still accomplishes the real PURPOSE of government.

Deepstate can't allow this to continue, so FBI and the media are pulling their usual evil tricks, committing or rebranding actions as "crimes" by the local police, who are the real CURRENT ENEMY of Deepstate.

This is the key, but not the entire key. We've seen the entire key in the 9/11 crime and the "global warming" crime and the TARP crime. Avoiding litigation requires more than just pleading not guilty. Avoiding litigation requires a substitute defendant.

The substitute technique is clearest in the "global warming" crime, where all problems caused by failed infrastructure and bad policy are now blamed on oil companies. The blame should go to governments who tear down dams instead of building dams, and who create forest fires by intentional "endangered species" mismanagement. With the "global warming" scam in place, all of those lawsuits are displaced to Exxon.

In 9/11 the real culprit was Saudi conspiring with Deepstate, but the blame was displaced onto Afghanistan and Iraq. (In this case the litigation was outright war, not a court trial.)

In TARP the real culprit was Wall Street itself. The artificial bubble needed to be popped in a way that rewarded the criminals and slaughtered everyone else. The blame was displaced onto mysterious Bond Market Witches who were never really identified.

The Branded Swine Flu is pretty much a repeat of TARP. The artificial bubble needed to be popped in a way that rewarded the criminals and slaughtered everyone else. The real culprit is Wall Street again, but the blame is laid off on a Witch Virus that can't be sued.

  The latest Shared Lie
A short article at EdWeek tries to analyze the budgetary costs of the school lockdowns.

At the level of numbers and accounting, it's a straightforward analysis. Districts that depend on income tax will suffer more than property tax districts. States that depend on oil will hurt even more.

The author serves Satan by leaving out the real cause of the lockdowns.

He repeatedly says things like this:

The coronavirus pandemic has already pounded states’ budgets and will leave no school district unharmed next fiscal year.

But the coronavirus is having an extraordinary impact on districts’ costs.

States that are heavily reliant on natural gas and oil revenue will be hit extra hard since oil prices have sunk

New York state, which has been hit the hardest hit by the coronavirus, estimates a loss anywhere between $9 and $15 billion.

Because the coronavirus hit so late in the fiscal year,

Finally, pension costs are expected to spike next year after the markets, which they’re heavily invested in, crashed.

The oil shock had nothing to do with the virus OR the lockdowns, but the author mixes and conflates causes. The stock crash was scheduled to happen just about now because it was necessary to defeat Trump. The crash was nominally triggered by the oil shock BEFORE the lockdowns. Insiders knew it and were selling out in the month before the crash, just as they do before every major crash.

Most important: The virus didn't kill the economy. The Branded Flu, like generic unbranded flu, mainly kills people who are already on the verge of dying and aren't earning income.

All previous epidemics somehow ended without lockdowns. We've survived millions of years by using our own immune systems, aided in recent centuries by REAL PUBLIC HEALTH. Previous epidemics incurred costs for increased hospital use in bad years, which was partly compensated by decreased hospital use the next year. That's all.

Who killed the real economy? Presidents and governors. All of them participated to some extent, but the most vicious and savage murderers are the governors with the closest ties to the teacher union.

The same monsters who previously declared that education was the cure for all ills suddenly decided that education is the illness.

That's why the EdWeek writer has to join the Shared Lie. He has to preserve those governors.

  Madison was the victim, not the problem
The writers at Strategic-Culture hit the mark more sharply than writers elsewhere. Most of the time.

Lazare misses the mark with this article.

He tries to explain why Americans have the habit of blaming RUSSIAN_MEDDLING instead of blaming the media and Deepstate for our chaos and division.

Lazare takes it back to Madison's implantation of divide and conquer as the principle of the "Constitution".

It's not that simple and it's simpler than that and it's not the right question.

1. Not that simple: Every functional mechanism, including every living creature, requires negative feedback. Madison and Jefferson were steam-era thinkers who understood negative feedback in terms of engine governors and clock escapements. They tried to create channels for negative feedback in their governmental machine. This was a good idea in general, though their channels were closed in 1803 by Marbury vs Madison. The case itself was trivial, and Madison technically won the case, but the Supremes deleted Madison's Constitution in their decision. The Supremes stole absolute and total legislative power, breaking the main loop and reducing the government to two branches. The written Constitution gave Congress ultimate control over the Supremes, but Congress never tried to reclaim its channel or its branch.

2. Simpler than that: Those same founders understood outside influence PERFECTLY because they were working for France. Every successful revolution has outside funding and support. This is completely separate from productive and necessary internal divisions.

3. Not the right question: Blaming foreigners isn't entirely wrong. We should blame foreigners for some of our problems, and we should blame Deepstate and media for most of our problems. Every country is always trying to influence and weaken its enemies. Weakening is a lot cheaper than war. Our error is BLAMING THE WRONG INFLUENCER. Deepstate has ALWAYS blamed Russia, which is just one of the many foreign influencers. Russia has never been the strongest influencer, and right now it's completely insignificant. Israel and Saudi are the bosses. Our media and government are abjectly enslaved to Israel, and secondarily enslaved to Saudi when Saudi agrees with Israel, which is most of the time.

Personal sidenote: Putin has a useful and sane comment about internal divisions and negative feedback. I'm strongly influenced by Putin because Putin is sane. I try to be influenced by sane people, and I try to ignore insane people. All of our politicians and leaders are hopelessly insane, so you either have to look abroad or look back through history or look inside yourself to find sanity.

He's been around the net since the BBS/USENET days, and he's been a lawyer dealing with net cases most of that time.

He says he used to be pure libertarian, but now he's starting to believe that more controls are needed because the WRONG SORT OF PEOPLE are using freedom. RUSSIAN_MEDDLING can't be allowed to MALIGN_BEHAVIOR the web, and of course non-Sorosians need to be EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE. Individual Liberty requires it. Individual Liberty means Soros owns everything.

Here's one focus of idiocy:

Platforms have always curated content. It's called publishing. Publishers have always worked within the constraints of liability for real harm. Publishers didn't need Section 230. Moderating specialized forums has always been a hard job. Do you kick out the asshole who really knows his stuff but can't stop lording it over others? Or do you stay loose and keep the asshole's valuable knowledge while losing some newbies? Alphia Hart discussed it often in his 1950's anti-Hubbard magazine Aberree. Editors of radio hobbyist newsletters discussed it in the '30s. It's just part of the job. No easy solution.

Third focus of idiocy:

I remain skeptical as to whether tactics like microtargeting and demographic profiling, whether used by political campaigns or foreign governments, are as effective at manipulating people as some critics fear, but I see nothing wrong with using legal and policy tools to stop malicious actors from trying to use these tools.

Nothing new about profiling. It's called knowing your customers. Scammers have always done the best job of knowing their customers. The post office and Ma Bell always made efforts to stop scammers, though it was easier with mail. Also, in previous decades media tried to educate people about the techniques of scammers. Now that our entire "economy" is mobs and rackets, nobody wants to train the suckers.

But Godwin isn't talking about scammers when he says MALICIOUS ACTORS. The keyword means only one thing. Surprise surprise surprise.

I still believe that, but here in 2020 I’m also haunted by the challenges we face everywhere in the world in this century, ranging from climate change to income inequality to the (not-unrelated) resurgence of populist xenophobia and even genocidal movements.

Freedom is fine as long as the free people are 100% SorosThought. Any entity that is not 100% SorosThought is MALICIOUS_ACTOR MALIGN_BEHAVIOR and must be EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE.

Is Godwin just an idiot, or is he an AP? I'm inclined toward idiot. The centralizing nature of the web was perfectly clear in the '80s. NSA was the central node, and NSA developed the web for its own ends, not for "liberty". The other problems have been around long before the web, and didn't inspire "libertarians" to favor total censorship.

  More classical misdirection
More on the Trump architecture "order".

Sumantra Maitra often makes tremendous sense and usually gets it. In this case, as with Dalrymple's article on the same subject, he is precisely correct about the violent nastiness of modernism.

Leave aside the fakeness of Trump, who has no fucking idea what he's talking about.

Dalrymple and Maitra are right about the bad side of this choice and wrong about the good side. Both specifically want Greco-Roman architecture with columns and arches.

Classic architecture is just as useless and wrong as modernism. Both arise from theories, not the reality of human shelter.

Symmetry and structure are important, as I've been emphasizing in art and music and grammar. But symmetry and structure should be formed on patient buildings that take care of natural enemies and human needs without excessive technology. Patient buildings are local by necessity. Snowy places and sunny places and rainy places and quaky places and floody places have distinct requirements, which must be solved experimentally. Greece is a sunny and stable place, so its forms aren't suited for other places.

In the deep of winter I observed that the Cape Cod with heated attic is UNQUESTIONABLY the best house for snow. Not really surprising, since it was designed by experiment in a snowy place.

The modern idea that roofs should remain uniformly cold to avoid ice dams has been definitively disproved. Roofs should be steep and warm.

I started 'making' a tribute to Cape Cods, and it's pretty much finished now. Got carried away as usual, expanded the project to a nice 1930s neighborhood. Not quite ready for release; I like to do a little testing and usage before release, and these pictures are part of the testing. (The store interior was used here.)

Continuing in '30s mode, I decided to tackle a pure Streamline Moderne, a THEORY-BASED style that has NOT held up over the years. Very few Modernes survive unless they're forcibly maintained by Historical Preservation laws.

Article in local paper features a museum exhibit on Mid-century Modern in Spokane. They detail one house that supposedly represents subtle functionality.

“In a way, it’s sort of Zen-like, with no unnecessary movements, no unnecessary notes if it were music – only what’s necessary to accomplish the program, whatever that happens to be. There’s a very simple beauty in that.”

Well, let's look at the featured house, 723 W. Sumner. It's in one of the best neighborhoods, and the landscaping is unquestionably beautiful. Google gets a nice view of the featured house (left) with its older "non-Zen-like" neighbor.



Which is more functional? Old non-Zen-like. It has a sloped roof and wide overhangs on all sides. Snow and rain can flow naturally off the roof; sun reaches the windows more in winter but less in summer; the foundation is protected from water (and thus somewhat protected from termites.)

The Zen-like modern house has a flat roof and no overhangs at all. It is highly vulnerable to snowload and leaks, it has no shelter from the sun, and its walls and foundation have no protection from water. That's not functional, it's just dumb.

Most of the dull ticky-tacky '50s houses in Spokane are more practical (i.e. less Zen-like) than this highly architected raw rectangle, which is why they have held up with very little maintenance. (Sidenote: The Google Street front view of the raw Zen-like rectangle was blocked by a maintenance truck parked in the driveway!... which is why I had to slide over to this side view. Probably unfair to draw conclusions from a single-day sample, but nevertheless it was there.)

The new urbanist types are happy with Trump's "order" that pretends to suggest non-modernist architecture for federal buildings.

Dalrymple gets carried away:

The order will give renewed courage to patrons of architecture, who for a long time have been cowed by the architects’ mastery of high-sounding verbiage and gobbledygook to promote their inhuman work, so much of which these days looks like a snapshot taken of a huge shack in mid-collapse during an earthquake. Patrons, like the courtiers of the Emperor with no clothes, have hitherto been afraid to confront architects for fear of appearing ignorant and unsophisticated, but will no longer have to accept the dictation of architects. Examples will show that things can be done differently, that patrons do not have to accept what Thom Mayne, the architect responsible for some of the worst of recent buildings, called “demanding art-for-art’s-sake architecture that only other architects can appreciate.”

Shack in mid-collapse is a BEAUTIFUL AND PRECISE description of modern design. Unfortunately Dalrymple doesn't understand the sole purpose of Trump.

The people who write "orders" to be signed by Trump do understand their purpose. Everything Trump "does" is explicitly and cleverly designed to cause no actions by bureaucrats. The bureaucrats knew from the start that they could simply continue doing what they were doing under Obama. The only consequence of a Trump "order" is to shift the blame for bad results to "altright white neoNazis" who can then be rounded up and EXTERMINATED.

Now that classical architecture is officially associated with the Trump brand, any patron who asks an architect for a non-modern building can be instantly shipped to the ovens.

Another day, another point missed.

This one is especially egregious. The author lists several genuine threats, several ways that the Internet Of Things could be weaponized by an "invader". He then tells us that the Experts in Centres must get together and make laws against such weaponizing. We know what the Experts in Centres want, and it's the opposite of the solution.

The listed threats are realistic and accurate, but the author consistently assumes that the threats are coming from MALIGN BEHAVIOR foreign countries. In fact the invader is not foreign. The real invader is our own Deepstate, and the invasion is done. Everyone who uses IOT is already conquered.

There is no overall solution, only individual SELF-DEFENSE. Desistance, not resistance. People who don't want to be fully conquered must steadfastly exclude the invading devices from their houses and bodies.
