Interesting observation from Sailer. As other Identity Subcultures get stronger, the Deaf culture seems to have faded out.

I noticed the growth of deaf culture in the '80s because I was working around speech and acoustics. After I started working from home in 2004, I lost contact with those movements and hadn't really thought about them. Still, the culture is notable by its absence in recent years.

Atypically, Sailer gets the history wrong.

It’s useful to think about why there is deaf culture but not blind culture. Wikipedia’s article on the former is vastly longer than its short squib on the latter, which sums up, “…blind people integrate with the broader community and culture, and often do not identify blindness as a defining part of their culture.”

That’s because language can be essential to identity. Just as nationalism in Europe was an offshoot of the consolidation of local spoken dialects into a standardized national written language (such as the French government’s imposition of the Parisian dialect on its sprawling domain), deaf culture exists due to the consolidation of sign languages.

Language is fundamental to communication, of course, and perhaps even to thought. So life tended to be extremely difficult for those born deaf, especially if they didn’t work out an idiosyncratic sign language with their families.

Before computers, deaf people had a much wider range of occupations than blind people. Industrial work and farm work need good eyes, but don't need ears. Noisy industrial environments are actually EASIER for deaf people than hearing people.

Deaf folks were common in printing. When I worked at Cromwells, we contracted our linotype work to Gene Laird, a deaf guy who ran his own linotype shop in a storefront. His wife handled the telephone and talked with visitors. Gene ran the machine and drove around to distribute the finished forms to Cromwells and Vaters and Daugherty. No problem after you got used to talking by writing.

Automation and offshoring were thus especially hard on deaf workers. Computers made life easier for blind people, but actually got in the way of AMERICAN deaf people because AMERICAN deaf people are not good at writing and reading English. This is NOT true in other countries. You can see the difference easily when looking at deaf Youtubers. Most Americans type incoherent descriptions and titles. Others, including Brits, write correctly.

This is not a problem with ears, it's a direct result of the deaf subculture eliminating real English from their schools. And this is a standard procedure. "Human rights" crusaders ALWAYS damage their "protected" groups. The "protected" groups must lose their native skills and niches so they need the "protection" of the NGOs and government.

Yeah, I know Shannon was actually talking about signal/noise ratio in cables, but like Heisenberg his highly technical rule has turned into a useful broad definition.

The broad definition:

News is new. Information is surprising.

This is also the natural definition of information, embodied in every level of every nervous system. Neurons are designed to ignore unchanging data and pay SHARP ATTENTION to departures from the unchanging pattern.

"News" media have always violated Shannon, and government "investigations" and "revelations" also turn Shannon upside down. Media try to generate fake deltas and fake surprise from totally old and unsurprising data. Deepstate sometimes "leaks" shocking facts like Heat Is Hot or Gravity Exists, carefully reworded to sound new.

Today's fake "news" is the Pandora Papers, a second chapter of the Panama Papers. Both of these "leaks" tell us that rich fuckheads never pay for anything. Heat is hot. Water is wet.

What's the point of these specific "leaks"? We can safely assume that they are just another way to kill the competition. The "investigators" are funded by Soros, which should tell you everything. These "leaks" give the government a reason to punish dictators and fuckheads who offend Soros.

Analyzing this type of data requires holding an internal template of all the fuckheads who should be included, and comparing this template with the fuckheads who were actually mentioned in the report. We don't have a strong natural talent for "what's missing" questions, so we need external helpers like written checklists or McBee cards or Hollerith's sorter or Reynold Johnson's multiple comparator.

  Makes sense
Soros has been making lots of anti-China noise lately. I assumed he was just 'talking the book', knocking down the nation to boost his short.

Here's a very different answer on Quora, and perhaps a more encouraging answer.

Most probably because he can’t make money off China by manipulating the markets. In fact, because of China, Russia, etc, it is becoming harder for scam artists like himself to rig major currencies to benefit themselves. The world currency used to be both a tool of profit and intimidation by the wealthy. It no longer is.

Makes sense. With total globalism, all markets pivot on the dollar. Any monster can destroy any country by manipulating its currency versus the dollar. As Russia and China are developing their own trade and exchange zone, most of the world is now DECOUPLED from Soros and similar monsters. Soros has been trying to establish his own leverage point inside the new eastern world, but everyone recognizes his evil purpose and refuses to cooperate.

  Another viewpoint flip
Unlike the previous two, this one isn't terse or self-contained. But it's worth reading the whole thing.

The question was:

Will China ever eliminate the "Great Firewall of China" and allow everyone equal, uncensored access to the Internet?

  Possible schism
Real schisms led by powerful people can make a real difference.

I've been generally anti-Catholic for a few years, since reading the full story of the Inquisition and noticing that nothing has really changed. I don't WANT to be broadly anti-Catholic, and wish I could see a reason for optimism. There are many people inside the church who disapprove of the permanent evil. Unfortunately those good people stay inside the church, where their talents and money inevitably assist the permanent evil.

"Working for reform inside the system" is a cruel myth. You're IN or you're OUT. Gang rules. No gray areas, no middle ground, no compromise. When you're IN, you're a full participant whether you think so or not.

When a powerful leader cuts loose and gets OUT, things start to happen. Both Mohammed and Luther were Christian leaders who got tired of the permanent evil and started their own movements.

On a much smaller scale, corporate leaders like Charles Nash and Walter Chrysler got tired of Billy Durant's permanent evil and started their own companies, aiming to serve the employees and customers in a more moral and responsible way. If they had continued using their talents for GM, nothing would have changed.

Now we have Cardinal Sarah resigning from Rome, with a possibility of leading a new separate church in Africa.

For damn sure Africa is the bright future of the world. Africans have an unbreakable morality, and have been rejecting Soros-style "human rights" for a long time. This year the heroic Magufuli rejected the bribes from the "virus" holocaust and used REAL SCIENCE to disprove the fraud at the start. Many African countries have thoroughly modernized in tech and business, WITHOUT losing their deep morality and culture.

Good luck to Cardinal Sarah, and I'm hoping and praying he can lead a successful schism before he gets too old to energize it.

  Convective conjunction
Putting the previous two items together supports a hypothesis that I had considered earlier. The "virus" holocaust is the last item on Soros's bucket list.

The holocaust smells like Soros, but his fingerprints on the whole project are NOT clear.

The Soros business plan, constant for 30 years, is like the Underpants Gnome plan except for the question marks. When you own everything there are no question marks.


BUSINESS PLAN:

1. Steal a country.

2. This moves a targeted Share Value up or down.

3. Profit.


He has run this monstrous plan on several countries since 1990, killing millions of Untermenschen as a pleasant side-effect for an old purebred Nazi like Soros. He has already beaten the killcount of his dearly beloved mentor Adolf.

The conjunction of Lukashenko's surrender followed immediately by JPMorgan's conversion to reality points to Soros. He has been working on Belarus for a LONG time, and his normal Color Revolution method has been plainly visible there during the holocaust.

Now that Lukashenko has surrendered, the desired target value will move in the right direction by the right number of euros or dollars, so the all-out military effort against the entire world can be spun down. Some of the lower-level psychopaths, now that they've tasted blood, will continue slaughtering Untermenschen, which will give Soros added pleasure if he bothers to notice it.

  Switched leadership mode
This isn't exactly new, but it's a strong trend in recent years. I observed it in the '90s, then didn't really think about it until the recent flip by WHO. Suddenly, with no warning, WHO flipped from forcing lockdowns to recommending against lockdowns. They didn't give a reason for either decision, and none of the media conspirators bothered to ask for a reason. Everyone is part of the conspiracy.

Basic point: How do you tell the difference between a trustworthy leader and a Deepstate demon? One way is explanation.

A leader who wants to rule with consent starts by serving the people, and then always explains his actions. This is a standard rule for good parents, good teachers, and good salesmen. If you need to give commands, or you expect people to follow your suggestions, you need to show humility and service, and you need to explain first before commanding.

Successful politicians in previous times used this rule. FDR demonstrated his service to ordinary people on the first day in office by closing down and cleaning up the banks. After that, he spent huge amounts of time and effort explaining what he wanted, via the Fireside Chats. Ordinary Americans saw that FDR was working for them, and they understood what he wanted from them. They complied willingly, and fought a hard and deadly war voluntarily.

After FDR the pattern faded, but wasn't fully reversed until Bush Senior. He switched to a mode of mysterious executive orders popping out of nowhere, containing mysterious commands that weren't related to any publicly visible needs. After Bush Senior, all presidents have continued in this mode. Even Congress isn't allowed to read the laws or know the reason for the laws. Congress simply passes the laws without argument.

Why did Congress comply without explanation or justification? Blackmail.

Deepstate is fueled and wired by vicious extortion and blackmail.

In today's world we can see the sharp distinction between US/UK rulers and non-Sorosians like Putin and Lukashenko. Non-Sorosians serve first, then explain fully, then command. They have the consent of their people.

The number of asylum seekers to the Netherlands dropped by nearly a half last year to about 30,000, in part due to an EU refugee deal with Turkey and the closure of the Balkan route used by migrants to reach Europe.

The latest influx of migrants - mainly from the Middle East and Africa - accounts for only a small fraction of the non-Western population in the country. This suggests that the backlash against immigration is not only about new arrivals.

This is a constant misunderstanding, even by good objective analysts. Common in discussions of regular crime, now appearing again in migrant crime. Analysts assume that people who are currently besieged by a problem must be the most strongly opposed to the problem. Life doesn't work that way.

Who wants the harshest punishments for criminals? Who wants the biggest walls against migrants?

Not people who have never been exposed to crime. If you've always lived in good neighborhoods or had private security services, you don't know what criminals are.

Not people who live in permanently crime-ridden neighborhoods. They've given up.

Harshites are people who ESCAPED from bad neighborhoods, and now see their blessed escape zone turning bad. People who used to be involved in crime and got out.

Life is all about anticipation. Life is about the future. Everything we do and think and feel involves a HUGE helping of anticipation. We understand speech and writing, and we appreciate music, because we're forming templates several phrases ahead of the speaker. We walk and drive by anticipation of future steps and streets. We reproduce and work and plan and save because we are looking at the future for ourselves or our descendants.

If you've never experienced X you can't anticipate X, so you can't spot the initial signs of X creeping into your life. If you've always been flooded with X, anticipation is pointless. You can't see a life without X.

Comrade O'Brien and his followers, and the Innovative Disrupters of the tech-tyrant world, are killers. Anticipation depends on a PERMANENT or at least slowly-changing baseline. When the cultural baseline is constant, we have infinitely detailed templates for every aspect of life, enabling us to get along on sparse perception and minimal conscious thought. We have space and energy for more interesting thoughts or pursuits. When Soros and Bezos yank the ground from under us 100 times in every step, we have to devote ALL our energy and perception to basic survival.

Permanent morality and slow-changing technology are like a savings account. Sorosian picosecond change is like hopeless debt. Needless to say, Soros hasn't missed this analogy; eliminating savings and burning cash are major parts of his omnicide project.

  Speaking of walls....
I noticed in the statcounter listings that a reader in Riobamba, Ecuador was reading some of the meaningful parts of this blog, the tech history. Thanks, reader! You're the reason I do this.

I hadn't heard of Riobamba, so I looked it up. It's about the same size as Spokane. Wandering through the images on Google Streets, Riobamba is typical of South America with WALLS around every house. Aside from that difference, it's clear that Riobamba is in better shape than Spokane. Businesses are everywhere, and all of the businesses appear open and thriving. The streets are maintained, sidewalks are clean, cars are new, walls are solid, most of the buildings look clean. Well-dressed people are walking calmly in all of the neighborhoods. No beggars or gangsters visible. Nothing looks ragged or beat-down.

Ecuador was one of the anti-Soros bright spots for a while, until the Assange mess caused Deepstate to step in and change it. Those changes clearly didn't affect everyday life, which looks prosperous and normal.

  Another small victory for sanity
Soros is gradually losing his absolute grip on power, especially in EU. Since Brexit, EU has been protecting its borders against Soros-driven migrants, and now EU is taking the side of Belarus in the latest Color Revolution; or at least staying neutral.

The European Union will not impose sanctions on Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, TASS reports citing Die Welt. The sanctions were opposed by Germany, France and Italy, as in their view the inclusion of Aleksandr Lukashenko in the black list would mean full suspension of dialogue with Minsk. The introduction of restrictive measures against the Belarusian leader was pushed for, first of all, by the Baltic states and Poland.

Poland and the Baltics are solidly Sorosian now, at least in terms of power alignment. Germany and France and Italy, the core of EU, are losing their loyalty to US/Soros Deepstate.

It's clear now that Brexit accomplished two nicely balanced purposes.

1. Boris is free to kill his own people. EU had been constraining his murder.

2. EU is free to guard and protect borders like any sane nation or group of nations. Britain had been pulling EU toward borderless insanity.

I'm incurably stupid about Sorosian Revolutions. I wasted 3 years cheering Brexit and bashing EU, under the idiotic false assumption that Brexit was meant to restore sanity to Britain and let EU remain insane.

Backwards on both. Brexit has freed Britain to be insane, and freed EU to be somewhat more sane.

  No more V day
For the last 6 years Polistra has been celebrating V-day on May 9, marking the victory of the ANTI-NAZI ALLIES in WW2. Putin was rebuilding the ANTI-NAZI alliance, since US and UK had joined the NAZI Axis under Führer Soros.



No more. Putin has joined the Axis of Holocausters, along with everyone else except Sweden and Belarus. Sweden is an absolutely unique and total switch, while Belarus is the sole carryover of the proper Soviet tradition.

Later half-baked thought: Sweden and Belarus have three things in common, but the variables are so tangled up that these are probably meaningless. Both are "socialist" as seen by US "conservatives", and both engage in some degree of central planning, and both have retained their own industry. Still, I can't see any sort of pattern. Other centrally planned countries and own-industry countries locked down. The US states that avoided lockdown are definitely at the looser end of the planning axis, but all have plenty of real physical production. (Farms, oil, manufacturing.)

Earlier I posited taxation as important, and it still seems important. When a government depends on taxes from real production, it will be more reluctant to shut down real production.

This is THE question that deserves serious attention if we get a brief break between this panic and the next scheduled panic. Is there any ideology or decision-making method or culture or ethnicity that determined the choice? Or is it purely the personality of the ruler? At the moment personality seems to be the only 'uncrossed' variable, but others may show up on later examination.

  Good little Belarus
In the midst of the increasing fog of war I lost track of good Belarus. I somehow got the impression that Lukashenko had surrendered to the Chinese lockdowns. Folks in Europe, closer to the situation, didn't lose track. They count Belarus along with Sweden as the only holdouts.

So Sweden is the only POSITIVE surprise, and Belarus is the only POSITIVE non-surprise.

I'd been following Belarus for years and admiring its steadfast adherence to the GOOD parts of the Soviet tradition. Of course I'd also been admiring Putin for the same, but he surrendered to Satan.

So it's time for a revised FINAL Sorosia map. Until now the map was keeping track of changes, not steady states. Countries like Sweden that had been Sorosian for decades remained white. Countries like Italy that (ever so briefly) moved out of Sorosia turned green.

Here's the February version, marking the loss of Italy and Malaysia:


And here's the Final Solution. Everything except Sweden and Belarus turned to Satan. Sweden is the biggest change, from the leading edge of Satan to the leading edge of God. Belarus also counts as a change; I had previously shown it as uncolored because it was steadily on God's side, but in this context holding steady is a relative change for the better.


And as always Korea and Japan are off the map, off the planet. Koreans and Japs are a different species. They remained sane in their own alien way, but they were never susceptible to the Soros virus.

  Ohm, Newton, Carnot, Hopkins
CJ Hopkins writes satire, so it's not always clear that he means what he says. Nevertheless, he always gets off some sharp and incisive phrases.

In discussing the 'new normal' of Branded Swine Flu, he has given us something deeper than clever phrasing.

What we are experiencing is a further evolution of the post-ideological model of power that came into being when global capitalism became a global-hegemonic system after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In such a global-hegemonic system, ideology is rendered obsolete. The system has no external enemies, and thus no ideological adversaries. The enemies of a global-hegemonic system by definition can only be internal. Every war becomes an insurgency, a rebellion breaking out within the system, as there is no longer any outside.

As there is no longer any outside (and thus no external ideological adversary), the global-hegemonic system dispenses with ideology entirely. Its ideology becomes “normality.” Any challenge to “normality” is henceforth regarded as an “abnormality,” a “deviation from the norm,” and automatically delegitimized.

NO LONGER ANY OUTSIDE.

Hopkins has just made a BIG step in terms of science. 'Hard' science is based on laws of FLOW and FORCE and FRICTION. Ohm, Newton, Carnot. All of these laws tell us what happens when a GRADIENT of force is applied across a BOUNDARY, with real FRICTION. These laws tell us how much FLOW happens across the BOUNDARY.

There are more complex and detailed laws for living things, telling us what happens when, for instance, a gradient of positive ions is applied to the cell wall of a neuron or muscle cell. Living things respond in a vastly more complex way than V=IR, but the overall form of the law is still the same. A gradient of force yields a flow.

"Social" "science" has never** given us an FFF law.

Hopkins hasn't formalized or quantified the law, but gives us the outline for a formal law.

NO LONGER ANY OUTSIDE is what scares me most. When Putin and AMLO surrendered to the lockdown virus, I lost all hope. There is no longer a COUNTERFORCE, no longer a GRADIENT, no longer a BOUNDARY between Soros and non-Soros. Sweden is the only available counterforce, and it's not large enough or influential enough to hold the line.

As I've tiresomely repeated, psychopaths like Soros and Bezos intend and plan to be the universe. In their minds, the entire universe is already ME and has been ME from the start of time. Non-ME elements do not exist. When non-ME elements appear to exist, the job of all authorities is to restore the ONLY CONCEIVABLE STATE OF THE UNIVERSE by exterminating the non-ME elements.

Boundaries and gradients are not part of the Soros/Bezos universe. Flow is impossible, so reality and life are impossible.

  Bitcoin point-missing and point-catching
Most point-missing on bitcoin is fully intentional, coming from the fraudsters and scamsters who promote this nonsense.

Via Eurekalert, here's a misunderstanding by academics who are trying to explain the nonsense objectively.

The concept of cryptocurrency has settled in general public for some time. This financial instrument has both enthusiastic supporters and implacable opponents. What does this term mean? Simply put, a cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual means of payment that exists only in a computer system and therefore has no physical equivalents in the form of banknotes or coins. More technically, it is a type of decentralized register consisting of independent devices, based on blockchain technology, using cryptographic solutions and storing assets information in contractual units. All transactions carried out in the world of cryptocurrencies are anonymous, but each of them is publicly available.

Nope. Simply put and wrongly put.

Clearly none of these academics have ever done bookkeeping, and clearly they don't understand what REAL currency is.

"Existing only in a computer" is not a relevant variable. Real currency can certainly exist only in a computer. Before computers, real currency existed only in real ledgers, which evolved from clay tablets to wood sticks to paper books. Transactions were made and marked by various devices, from beads to gold coins to paper bills to checks.

When real currency was transferred from paper books to computers, only the physical form of the record changed (again). The overall structure of modular and private ledgers for each account and business remained intact.

Bitcoin is EXACTLY NOT "decentralized". It's EXACTLY centralized. Blockchain intentionally destroys the modularity and privacy of real ledgers by forcing all ledgers to be global variables. A global variable can be changed by the global controller, forcing all businesses and individuals to adopt the same number. This can't happen in a modular system.

HOWEVER! The same article catches one point that I hadn't noticed before.

The first of them - Bitcoin - was proposed in 2008 by a person or group of people nicknamed Satoshi Nakamoto. This event coincided with the epicenter of the global financial crisis.

As an old bookkeeper and programmer, I was able to spot the fraud instantly, and as an old Deepstate-watcher, the NSA and CIA connections leaped out with Sucker-Filter transparency. But I didn't notice the temporal synchronization. (I had the impression that bitcoin started in 2012.) So bitcoin was an integral part of the 2008 globalist coup. Crash real business, replace real business with the Dow, replace real modular ledgers with global ledgers for total control.

At the moment a rational observer must conclude that all governmental officials at all levels in all** countries are fully committed to killing everyone and feeding our carcasses to the bankers.

It would help if some local or provincial or state officials would show a tiny sign of life.

Convince us that you are not WILLING PARTICIPANTS IN THE HOLOCAUST. Tell us that you know the plain facts of disease and public health, but you are forced to assist Satan by billions of dollars in bribes or hundreds of blackmail files.

We would still ask why your reputation is worth more than the millions of jobs you are permanently destroying, why your life is worth more than the millions you are killing.

But at least we would understand your plight on a human level.

It would help even more if some official ACTUALLY REBELLED against the orders and cancelled the lockdowns, but that won't happen.

Still true today.

Mulvaney, who is some kind of Deepstate official, says:

"Are you going to see some schools shut down? Probably. Maybe see impacts on public transportation? Sure, but we do this. We know how to handle this,"

Blurting out the straight facts. The PURPOSE of the panic is to slaughter Deplorables. When you shut down schools you starve many kids. When you shut down public transit you KILL THOUSANDS OF POOR PEOPLE. These are not 2% risks, these are IRON-CLAD GUARANTEES.

Mulvaney's "conservative" listeners ejaculated inside their $100000 suits at the thought of BUS RIDERS DYING EN MASSE. Best news they've heard in years.

Bad news for God's side: Mahathir was forced to resign after a power play by his main opponent.

Two of the most promising anti-Soros leaders are gone. Salvini in Italy, mostly due to his own mistake, and now Mahathir. We can be more than 100% certain that the backlash will be extreme, as it was in Italy.



I've switched Malaysia to Soros on my map. I've also switched Bolivia. To keep my spirits up, I've changed Argentina and Uruguay to God's side. Might be over-optimistic, but Kirchner is unquestionably a true Populist, and offered asylum to Evo.

He's been around the net since the BBS/USENET days, and he's been a lawyer dealing with net cases most of that time.

He says he used to be pure libertarian, but now he's starting to believe that more controls are needed because the WRONG SORT OF PEOPLE are using freedom. RUSSIAN_MEDDLING can't be allowed to MALIGN_BEHAVIOR the web, and of course non-Sorosians need to be EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE. Individual Liberty requires it. Individual Liberty means Soros owns everything.

Here's one focus of idiocy:

Another thing we clearly got wrong is how large platforms would rise to dominate their markets—even though they never received the kind of bespoke regulated-monopoly partnership with governments that, generations before, the telephone companies had received. Nonsense. Google was a government contractor from the start. Long before the web, big tech companies were primarily government contractors. It started in 1946 and it was already obvious in 1960 when Ike talked about it.

Second focus of idiocy:

One reason we need to keep Section 230 safe—a reason I didn’t have the foresight to champion back in the 1990s—is that it’s crucial to fighting disinformation: It allows internet platforms to curate their content without necessarily increasing liability.

Platforms have always curated content. It's called publishing. Publishers have always worked within the constraints of liability for real harm. Publishers didn't need Section 230. Moderating specialized forums has always been a hard job. Do you kick out the asshole who really knows his stuff but can't stop lording it over others? Or do you stay loose and keep the asshole's valuable knowledge while losing some newbies? Alphia Hart discussed it often in his 1950's anti-Hubbard magazine Aberree. Editors of radio hobbyist newsletters discussed it in the '30s. It's just part of the job. No easy solution.

Third focus of idiocy:

I remain skeptical as to whether tactics like microtargeting and demographic profiling, whether used by political campaigns or foreign governments, are as effective at manipulating people as some critics fear, but I see nothing wrong with using legal and policy tools to stop malicious actors from trying to use these tools.

Nothing new about profiling. It's called knowing your customers. Scammers have always done the best job of knowing their customers. The post office and Ma Bell always made efforts to stop scammers, though it was easier with mail. Also, in previous decades media tried to educate people about the techniques of scammers. Now that our entire "economy" is mobs and rackets, nobody wants to train the suckers.

But Godwin isn't talking about scammers when he says MALICIOUS ACTORS. The keyword means only one thing. Surprise surprise surprise.

I still believe that, but here in 2020 I’m also haunted by the challenges we face everywhere in the world in this century, ranging from climate change to income inequality to the (not-unrelated) resurgence of populist xenophobia and even genocidal movements.

Freedom is fine as long as the free people are 100% SorosThought. Any entity that is not 100% SorosThought is MALICIOUS_ACTOR MALIGN_BEHAVIOR and must be EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE.

Is Godwin just an idiot, or is he an AP? I'm inclined toward idiot. The centralizing nature of the web was perfectly clear in the '80s. NSA was the central node, and NSA developed the web for its own ends, not for "liberty". The other problems have been around long before the web, and didn't inspire "libertarians" to favor total censorship.
