Not better
In general the 'alternative' social networks are false flags intended to gather dissidents for easier identification.
For amusement I tried to join Parler, which claims to respect privacy more than Facebook does.
Nope. Parler wouldn't even let me create an account unless I have a mobile phone. Facebook has a sort of second-class citizenship for non-cellphoners. You can read and write, but you can't use a pseudonym and can't write some kinds of links.
Parler requires a cellphone for entry, which is LESS respectful of privacy than FB.
Just another fucking faker.

Later: The idea of false flags reminded me of something I'd animated recently.
The precipitator.
The generator provides positive and negative charges.
Positive ions migrate to the negatively charged comb, and negative ions migrate to the positive comb. Both types are then stuck to the respective combs (parties), where they can be manipulated or discarded in a single clump.
