Missing the whole point
BBC is bannering a leak from Ambassador Darroch that completely misses the point and purpose of everything.
Darroch wrote that Trump scuttled the treaty with Persia "to spite Obama".
WELL, OF COURSE. DUH, DUH, DUH, DUH, A THOUSAND TIMES DUH.
All presidents do everything to spite their political opponents. That's called POLITICS. Obama didn't do much until his last year, when he changed a whole bunch of policies specifically to spite his Republican successor.
THIS IS FUCKING NORMAL.
It shouldn't be normal; leaders should do things to benefit the country, not to poison-pill the opposition. In sane countries like Russia and Hungary and Italy, leaders have started to do sane things. But here in Sorosia the ONLY action we get from leaders is soap-opera games.
Trump pretends to undo Obama's last-minute orders, restoring the condition that was just fine with Obama until he wanted to leave a trap. Trump's orders are carefully crafted to change nothing.
This idiotic default standard operating mode tells us nothing about Trump's actual PURPOSE in busting the treaty. In this case he did have a real PURPOSE beyond the default games.
Trump's PURPOSE was to obey Sheldon Adelson. BBC can't say it or think it for fucking obvious reasons.
