  Non-explaining arrogance isn't new

The non-explaining Expert is more common now but NOT new. Here's a beautiful example from the pivotal year of 1906.

The SF earthquake was followed quickly by a highly unusual spell of rain, which made even more trouble for the miserable people who were temporarily sheltering in parks and plazas.

From American Inventor p199 of PDF.
As a consequence of these unusual conditions, Prof. O. A. Leuschner, the astronomer in charge of the observatory at the University of California, received many requests for information upon the subject of the connection between earthquakes and the weather. To all these requests he made the short and simple answer: "Earthquakes are never influenced by the weather, nor do they affect weather conditions in any way."

A curious fact about the rainstorm was that the wind accompanying it came from the north, whereas storms in California almost invariably are brought on by a strong southeasterly or southwesterly wind. One of the amateur weather observers at Berkeley, the seat of the University of California, says that during a period of many years he has never known heavy rain associated with a northerly wind. Prof Leuschner, however, while not undertaking to explain the phenomenon and admitting that our knowledge of earthquakes is slight, declares that "wind and rain and other weather phenomena cannot possibly be considered as under the influence of seismic phenomena."
Note the arrogant dismissive tone of Leuschner, who was flatass wrong. The fast pressure change in a storm CAN trigger a quake that's ready to rumble, and the huge electrical discharges produced by quakes CAN trigger or move storms. Both facts were already known in 1906. Geologists are still declaring that earthquakes can't possibly be related to anything.

The job of an expert is to connect things that are disconnected, and disconnect things that are connected. Break all facts, obliterate all logic.

Note also the healthy skeptical attitude of the American Inventor writers.

  Cruel prank

Convective conjunction while listening to Spiked's tiresome pointless defense of "free speech".

= = = = =

Fact 1: Paid media never does what the defenders claim. Paid media never exposes Deepstate's crimes, never even opposes tyranny. Simple math. You can't get enough money and regulatory permission and litigation protection to run a media outlet unless you follow the rules and fashions of the people who control the money and "laws".

= = = = =

Fact 2: The only reliable way to get a proper sense of reality is through your own senses and muscles. Unmediated perception can be distorted by your own biases and templates, but it's VASTLY more clear and truthful than anything you hear from any media, whether paid or independent.

Carver.
Look about you.
Take hold of the things that are here.
Talk to them.
Let them talk to you.

= = = = =

Conjunction: Constitutions and "rights" are frauds. Hoaxes. Stings. Honeytraps. Cruel pranks.

Constitutions fool you into thinking that you can rely on the paid media for information. The more you rely on paid media, the more your internal senses and muscles ATROPHY.

  McAfee still frustrating

I hadn't been reading McAfee for quite a while. He is one of the few HARDASS REALISTS in the world, but he was spending too much time pushing the bitcoin scam. He didn't bother to pretend it was real. Sucker Filter right out in the open. Still, it got boring.

I checked his Twitter today, and found more refreshing HARDASS REALISM, along with more annoying unrealism.

He's in jail in Spain for tax evasion. His descriptions of jail life are REALISTIC. But his attempt to pose as a martyr fails. He's rich. He can pay taxes if he wants to. Tax evasion makes the enemy's job too easy.

Assange is parallel. He could have avoided much of his trouble by being TRULY OPEN, and by obeying the conditions placed on his exile by Ecuador. Instead, he tried to play Deepstate games with "sources and methods", and tried to evade the rules that were keeping him alive. Deepstate always wins at Deepstate games. I still can't tell if he's an AP or just stupid. In either case I don't have patience for any of this.

  Switched leadership mode

This isn't exactly new, but it's a strong trend in recent years. I observed it in the '90s, then didn't really think about it until the recent flip by WHO. Suddenly, with no warning, WHO flipped from forcing lockdowns to recommending against lockdowns. They didn't give a reason for either decision, and none of the media conspirators bothered to ask for a reason. Everyone is part of the conspiracy.

= = = = =

Basic point: How do you tell the difference between a trustworthy leader and a Deepstate demon? One way is explanation.

A leader who wants to rule with consent starts by serving the people, and then always explains his actions. This is a standard rule for good parents, good teachers, and good salesmen. If you need to give commands, or you expect people to follow your suggestions, you need to show humility and service, and you need to explain first before commanding.

Successful politicians in previous times used this rule. FDR demonstrated his service to ordinary people on the first day in office by closing down and cleaning up the banks. After that, he spent huge amounts of time and effort explaining what he wanted, via the Fireside Chats. Ordinary Americans saw that FDR was working for them, and they understood what he wanted from them. They complied willingly, and fought a hard and deadly war voluntarily.

After FDR the pattern faded, but wasn't fully reversed until Bush Senior. He switched to a mode of mysterious executive orders popping out of nowhere, containing mysterious commands that weren't related to any publicly visible needs. After Bush Senior, all presidents have continued in this mode. Even Congress isn't allowed to read the laws or know the reason for the laws. Congress simply passes the laws without argument.

Why did Congress comply without explanation or justification? Blackmail.

Deepstate is fueled and wired by vicious extortion and blackmail.

In today's world we can see the sharp distinction between US/UK rulers and non-Sorosians like Putin and Lukashenko. Non-Sorosians serve first, then explain fully, then command. They have the consent of their people.

  Fish in a barrel

This stinking pile of rotten toxic schizophrenic wordsalad appeared in the "social" "science" area of Eurekalert.
The increasing threat of foreign interference in elections has driven six nations to take similar approaches to combat this pervasive threat. A review of the details to their responses brings out valuable differences and insights. ...

“The United States experienced significant interference in our 2016 presidential election and Russia seems just as active in their efforts to influence our presidential election this year. We have much to learn from the experiences of other nations that have attempted to address this growing problem,” states Election Law Journal Editor-in-Chief David Canon, University of Wisconsin.
In the first fucking place, real science starts with CONSTANTS AND VARIABLES. CONSTANTS AND VARIABLES. FUCKING CONSTANTS AND FUCKING VARIABLES. Real science asks if an entity called "election" is a variable. When this "election" entity happens, does it cause anything in the real world to change? The answer is a firm and consistent NO. Null hypothesis perfectly valid.

After that, there's no reason to discuss this empty entity called "election".

In the second fucking place, if you're fucking stupid enough to skip the first fucking step, the rest of this shit doesn't even follow from AVAILABLE FUCKING DATA. Facebook and Twitter have both stated firmly and NUMERICALLY that Russian advertising was a barely measurable subpercentage of all advertising, and very little of the Russian advertising was actually related to candidates.

FB and Twitter are certainly not aligned with Orange Man Witch Powder, so they would have no reason to underrate the Russian influence. Their natural bias would run the other way, but they were refreshingly honest about this set of facts.

  I'm being unfair

Following from previous item.... Just realized. When I describe the "virus" as branding, or describe political crap as branding, I'm being unfair to actual brands.

In real business, a brand goes deeper than a name or a label. A brand is associated with particular feelings and experiences. When you have a good brand running, you don't want to spoil it by SWITCHING the feelings and experiences. You understand that your loyal customers are unique, and you don't really care if EVERYONE appreciates your brand. Customers buy your brand because they like it, which means they like the product itself plus the service experience. They don't buy the product because they want something else. People who want something else are buying other brands.

In real business, a company that switches the experience or degrades the product loses its loyal customers and doesn't gain new ones, because the people who want something else already use other brands.

These new political and scientific brands have no constant connections to products or services or agendas or beliefs or purposes. Over the last 50 years, the D and R political brands have traded belief sets several times. Their loyal CULT MEMBERS instantly follow every Github switch in philosophy and purpose, because CULT MEMBERS are not customers. They aren't buying the product to get good transportation or a good shave or good shoes or good repair service. They're sticking with the CULT because they're phaselocked. Membership is the only purpose, and switching is the CRITERION for membership. Sucker filter. Cult members are EXPLICITLY selected by their ability to adhere instantly and ferociously to a RAPIDLY SHIFTING and INCOMPREHENSIBLY CRAZY narrative.

In earlier eras political parties were real brands that provided real products to unique sets of customers. Supporting D gave the factory worker more winks and nods from police, and more government jobs. Supporting R gave the banker more winks and nods from auditors, and better access to government funds. Each brand had its own services and its own customers.

  Possible but unlikely

Not gonna call this AI point-missing, though it's sort of halfway there.
Have you ever looked desperately for something—your passport perhaps—and then found, half an hour later, that it was right in front of you all the time? Inconspicuous but not really invisible? “Hiding in plain sight,” as the saying goes. It happens to everyone. We wonder why we didn’t find it before.
Now some researchers think they've found the reason, in an occasional form of resonance in the brain.

Seems unlikely. It might be possible to prove the correlation by experiment, but that still wouldn't explain why these particular resonances occur. It just kicks the purpose back by a notch.

The pattern is well known and well described. It's not just happening to find the hiding object. In this pattern you find the object when you're looking for something else. The pattern was called McGumper's Law. Poe mentioned it in the Imp of the Perverse. It was also discussed in some popular books about Zen, though I don't think it's really the basis of Zen.

Think of it as separate modes, separate mental spaces.

You've been looking for the passport for an hour, staying in the same focus, with the same parts of the brain activated. Then you forget about it and later start looking for your keys. You're now comparing reality with a different template, one that has keys in the foreground. The passport's interaction with the search template is different, so sometimes (not always!) it has a better chance of being seen.

  Amazing service

Another Census Bureau article by Commerford Martin, another interesting insight.

In 1907, discussing how farmers use telephones.
If a horse falls sick or a valuable cow is in danger, a veterinarian is called and is at the farm in half the time needed before the days of the telephone. If a farm machine breaks down, by the aid of the telephone and the trolley express, or, in case of small parts, the rural free delivery, the broken part can be obtained in a few hours and work go on as before. In some parts of the country where horse stealing has been more or less prevalent, the rural telephone has come very near to putting an end to this form of theft, because a man who has lost his horse immediately telephones to the central exchange, which notifies all of the farmers in the district to look out for such a horse.
Trolley express? Did interurbans serve farm areas well enough to provide freight delivery?

Yes. The interurban network connected most small towns in 1907, but Trolley Express was something special. Trolley Express trucks could use the trolley wires when in town, recharging their batteries while running, then drive away from the wires in the country and run on the charge.
On the social side of life the telephone on the farm plays an important part. In many parts of the country at a certain prearranged signal, such as two long rings, everyone on the farm lines goes to the telephones, and when central is assured that practically everybody is on the line it reads out any important matters of general news which may have come in during the day, and also gives out the weather report. It is, indeed, very common for the weather report, as soon as received, perhaps about 10 in the morning, to be repeated to all the subscribers on farm lines.

From a social standpoint this practice, by which the farmers, many of them separated by considerable distances from their neighbors and from the nearest towns, are kept in touch with the everyday happenings of the world, is of incalculable benefit. In this way throughout large stretches of the country the farmer is better informed as to the events of the day than the busy city resident whose reading of the morning paper consists of a glance at the headlines over his coffee.
Interactive social media. Better than broadcast, better than Facebook. The rural phone operator was providing vastly more service than any modern AI system. She knew the customers, knew when to switch into 'broadcast' mode, knew what information the customers needed.

Telephone service was expensive, but it was worth it. Unfortunately it remained overly expensive in later decades, after the service aspect was gone.

  They never learn

American Radio Library has added a section for a radio trade journal that lasted only a few years around 1960.

Their brief description says it all succinctly:
Radio industry trade magazine which attempted to focus only on radio when other magazines were adding content about television. Apparently ceased publication following October-November 1961 edition.
The radio industry and the auto industry made the same mistake around 1958. Both decided to stop selling to adults and start selling to yoots. Radio shifted from drama and soap operas** and serious music and serious commentary to all Rock And Roll all the time. The auto industry (except Nash) stopped making practical economical durable cars and shifted to LOOOOOOOOOOOW LOOOOOOOOOOOONG POOOOOOOOOOOOOOWERFUL dick prostheses. Cars no longer carried a family, they simply did 0-60 in 0 seconds.

This short-lived trade journal shows the failure in its pages. The marketing side of radio was paying NO attention to the needs of working men and housewives who had been enjoying soap operas and other dramas, along with a mix of serious and pop music. All drama and serious music and intelligent discussion was gone by 1961. Nothing but Rock Rock Rock Around The Clock.

Adults still wanted to use radio as a pleasant background and distraction for work and chores, but adults were no longer COOL.

Adults still wanted a practical car that would last a long time and carry them from point A to point B in comfort, but adults were no longer COOL.

Maximum noise and maximum acceleration were COOL, so all advertisers and industries created noise and acceleration.

And then both industries were SHOCKED SHOCKED SHOCKED to find that they were going bankrupt. They had rejected the loyal customers who liked their products and HAD MONEY TO PAY for their products. Both industries went whoring after COOL people who were by definition disloyal and rebellious and didn't have much money.

Now the media and sports industries are SHOCKED SHOCKED SHOCKED yet again to find that PUNCHING loyal customers in the face REPEATEDLY, and attracting disloyal rebellious COOL people without money, is not the ideal way to make money.

= = = = =

** Irrelevant footnote: Soap operas weren't just for women. I can think of two specific counterexamples. Both were after the loss of radio soap opera, but both were using the TV as radio, not looking at the picture. Mr Bishop, the principal of Manhattan High, had a TV in his office and always turned it on for the soaps. Once Mr Ohm, the physics teacher, borrowed the TV so the class could watch a rocket launch. Mr Bishop came in and reclaimed the TV. He couldn't miss his stories. And much later, my favorite barber in Enid always listened to soaps while he worked. So I suspect the habit was more widespread than you might think. Most workplaces would allow radio but not TV for EXTREMELY GOOD REASONS. If soaps had continued on radio, they would have continued to reach a wider audience.

  I learned something!

Looking for old info on coherers, ran into a US Census publication from the magic year of 1906. The Census bureau wrote a splendidly informative article on the present condition of electricity and electronics, getting everything right and describing everything with crystal clarity. As expected, the publication also included lots of tables and maps of employment, sales, etc.

Another section described an industry I'd never heard of!

The Shoddy Industry.
There is, perhaps, no article produced in manufacture, no article used in manufacture, and no article in common use, that bears a reputation more undeserved than does shoddy. Its very name is a synonym for pretense and fraud. To the popular mind goods containing shoddy are not merely destitute of wearing quality, but are suggestive of the unwholesome secondhand clothing shop, and inspire one with apprehension lest the fabric should communicate loathsome disease to the wearer of apparel in which there is this substance of ill repute. All this is unwarranted by the facts, as all are aware who understand the shoddy process, the method of making use of shoddy, and the benefits which the use of it confers upon the user. It is not the case, as is too commonly supposed, that a garment — or the cloth which is made into a garment — is or can be composed wholly of shoddy. New wool or animal hair is always the basis of the yarn and a certain amount of shoddy is mixed with it on the card.
Substance of ill repute is a brilliant phrase for an important insight. Our entire nation is now devoted to wiping out substances of ill repute. Witch powders and the witches who spread witch powders.

Now we only know the ill repute of Shoddy, and never realize we're insulting a whole branch of industry that employed ordinary people making useful products in an EFFICIENT way, RECYCLING resources that otherwise would have been trashed.

In 1906 government experts were engaged in telling the truth CLEARLY, and more importantly they saw their job as DEFENDING honest productive work. They provided VALUABLE INFORMATION in the sense that you could LEARN SOMETHING NEW AND USEFUL by reading their articles.

Now government experts tell nothing but vicious lies, and they see their job as DESTROYING honest work and STEALING honest labor and KILLING honest workers. Experts provide negative information. When you read the spewings of experts, real data is RIPPED out of your brain and replaced by demonic monsters.

= = = = =

Credit footnote: The section on electricity was written by Expert Special Agent Commerford Martin, and Shoddy was written by Expert Special Agent Edward Stanwood.

Non-barking footnote: Martin's article dives into full and clear detail about every imaginable type of electrical equipment, from telephones to coherers to industrial motors to cookstoves. How they're made, how they could be made better, how they affect the people who make and use them. But Martin DOESN'T mention the one device that was developed IN THE CENSUS BUREAU in 1890, a device that had already been used BY THE CENSUS BUREAU for 16 years to tabulate data, including the data in Martin's article. This device had already spread beyond the Census, spawning a moderate-sized industry by 1906. Apparently this one device didn't seem especially important at the time!

Thanks Ralph 136, double negative edition

A lesson from previous crazy times when inquisitors and witch hunters were in total control.

When NOBODY is doing the right thing, you have to look for good results from bad actions. Emerson.

The statue-pullers and rioters are doing a lot of damage to property, but they're also weakening some of the foundations of globalism. The wokeites are weakening the power of theories in academia, which is a purely good thing. Math that serves "social justice" is annoying, but it's a lot closer to Real World Math than the existing paradigm of math serving only the abstract mathematicians.

Here's an example I hadn't heard of before.
It is the work of a music theorist to identify the building blocks of music, such as melody, harmony, and rhythm, and to reveal their organizational principles. As teachers, we seek to illuminate the mysteries behind how great works of art are composed, so others might use those tools to find their own artistic voices. As analysts, we look for patterns in music and seek to interpret their meanings for a fuller, more nuanced understanding of musical works.

Both identity and politics have played major roles in musical expression throughout history, but “identity politics” in the music theory field today is not about revealing how they are communicated in the music. Instead, it has become a belief that there is a fixed amount of intellectual space in the music theory world, and that fixed space has too many white males in it. It is a belief that the only way to achieve equity in music theory is to silence not just “problematic” voices but to diminish entire “problematic” modes of thinking. This is a false and immoral belief.
Music theory has never helped anyone to "find their own artistic voices". The only way to find your voice is to USE it, ideally with guidance from an experienced trainer. Music theory, like ALL THEORY, has corrupted art and science. If the woke version of music theory eliminates the funding for this totally useless fake "discipline", it will do some good in a double-negative way.

EXPERIENCE SURVIVES. THEORY KILLS.

First vaguely allegedly "firm" action by a "court"

The Michigan supreme "court" has finally given an allegedly FIRM ruling to Demon Whitmer, ORDERING her to stop the holocaust IMMEDIATELY.

So far every single alleged counterforce has completely failed to act. Didn't even try, didn't even make tiny inaudible whispers of disapproval. "Courts" and "legislatures" have completely joined the holocaust. Everyone is on Satan's side, in the usual Robust Debate form. All discussions are auctions to bid up the killcount. All pluponents, no opponents.

This is the first nominal "opposition" by a "court" that would normally be obeyed by governors in a sane world.

It will be slightly interesting to see how Demon Whitmer will circumvent the "ruling". She doesn't need to do anything about it, since the supreme "court" can't order the National Guard to execute her. She just needs to continue killing and killing and killing and killing and orgasming and orgasming and orgasming. This is the best time in history for psychopaths.

= = = = =

Oct 14 update: Here's the workaround. Demon Whitmer handed off the rules to the state OSHA, thus forcing the "court" process to start over again. Nazi holocausters like to maintain a veneer of "legality", though it's really not needed.

There's only one cure for a psychopath.

  More normal life, more envy

Lukashenko touring farms and food processing plants.

Needless to say, everyone is normal. No Chinese distancing, no murder masks. Belarus tractors make a cameo appearance. As usual the older folks seem to appreciate his presence more than the youngsters.

Lukashenko says roughly: If we had people of this quality in Minsk, the country would be in better shape.

Minsk is where the Sorosian demons are attempting Anschluss, trying to bring Belarus into the holocaust. So far they're not gaining any meaningful progress.

A comparison struck me. Belarus is about the same size and population as the state of Washington. Can you imagine Mad Bomber Inslee touring farms? Can you imagine farmers appreciating his presence? Can you imagine him saying "If only we had more people like this in Seattle, we'd be okay."

I can imagine Culp saying it, and in fact he does say similar things.

Good test question for design vs evolution

Wasting time on Quora again. Most questions are idiotic partisan shit. Occasionally there's a thoughtful one.

How is it possible that there are so many medicinal and generally helpful plants for humans and animals to use? Why are there so many?

It's true that many plants are good food and good medicine. We've neglected a lot of the good medicine, which older cultures understood in detail.

It's also true that animals, including humans, have a specialized hunger for the foods that are good. We've diverted this hunger into processed and manufactured foods, but it's still there after you break some of the commercially induced habits.

What's not obvious at all is the reason. Neither evolution nor design works as an explanation. Some animals are EXTREMELY specific about their ONE necessary food source. Others, including humans, have a wider variety of needs and more flexibility.

Evolution should make all animals fairly adaptable, if not universally adaptable. Design should make all animals precisely synced with their food source. Reality is far more varied.

  Why was recharging so late?

Another 'path not taken' question. Why did it take so long for rechargeable batteries to become common in ordinary devices?

The first practical batteries were refillable wet cells. They could be recharged, but typically weren't, because the batteries were invented before practical generators were available and LONG before mains power was available. They would provide a reliable voltage until the electrolyte was reacted out. The electrolyte could then be drained and refreshed without replacing the entire battery.

Dry cells weren't commercially available until 1890 or so. Early tube radios could use both kinds. Philco made these attractive wet batteries, remarkably similar in form to those 1840 Leclanche cells:

Wet cells disappeared fast, and portable or farm radios used only dry cells from 1930 on. Most radios switched to mains power. Cars, of course, have always used wet batteries.

Many portable radios had dual-mode AC or battery, and one portable radio was advertised as recharging its own dry cells.

Recharging carbon-zinc dry cells was sort of halfway possible. Rechargers were available. I owned one in the '60s. Recharging only worked a few times and degraded the battery fast, so it really wasn't worth the trouble. You gained a few days of extra use.

Why didn't Philco improve the nickel-iron wet cell to make it more practical for portable devices like power tools? Recharging didn't really take off until the lithium dry cell came along.

= = = = =

Correction: I've been calling those early wet batteries Leclanche. There were several named types of wet cell, notably Daniell. Leclanche was the first of the dry carbon-zinc cells.

  A real scientist/politician

Modern fuckheads demand more "scientists" as politicians. What they mean by "scientist", of course, is a satanic demon devoted to obliterating the universe.

Were there any REAL scientists in politics, back when science meant exploring and observing reality? The most obvious example was Ben Franklin, who sold his print shop to devote his life to experimenting with electricity.

After Franklin, not much. Here's one semi-pro scientist: James Hartness, elected governor of Vermont exactly 100 years ago.

His telescope was featured in one of Gernsback's publications in 1921.

A diagram view:

The telescope was designed to maintain outside air temperature in the barrel, while letting Hartness live and work in comfort. Clever way to avoid thermal waves and inversions in the air.

[The observatory is still there and is maintained as a museum.]

Hartness gained wealth as head of Jones and Lamson Machine Works. He was a prolific inventor and patenter, who enjoyed both astronomy and aviation. As governor he pushed to advance Vermont's industries.

What did Hartness think about the role of education?
There is no special background of education needed to undertake an intelligent study of astronomy in a human way; merely a capacity to appreciate and to make comparisons between things of tremendous magnitude and things that matter little. I was talking of astronomy to a young man whom I met on a train recently. I tried to make clear to him its wonderful interest and its thrilling possibilities, even for a layman. He listened to me, then said: “Well, if that's astronomy, they fooled me badly when I was studying it in school! My book on astronomy had a lot of funny diagrams, and hazy pictures of stars with long names and some problems in spherical trigonometry. I hated it!" Many schools approach the teaching of astronomy from the wrong direction. Looking at a picture of a star bears about the same relation to seeing the star itself through a telescope as looking at a friend's picture bears to having the friend beside you, talking to you.
Sounds familiar.

Look about you.
Take hold of the things that are here.
Talk to them.
Let them talk to you.

Did Hartness implement this attitude in Vermont's schools? Probably not. Brief accounts emphasize his push for industries and don't mention education.

After Hartness, maybe you could count Barry Goldwater, another rich semi-pro who loved technology; but Barry didn't invent and develop scientific instruments.

= = = = =

The idea of counting Goldwater led sideways to another counting. Barry was unquestionably Jewish, but he's never counted as Jewish. He was nominally Episcopal, but clearly thought of himself as a Jew and often called himself Jewish. This list of Jewish presidential candidates skips him while including other ambiguous nominals. It describes Marianne Williamson as "raised in a Jewish family".

One overall pattern stands out in that list. Before 1946, religion and ethnicity didn't matter as much. There were several Jewish governors of Western states before 1946, none after. There were also several Hispanic and Native governors and senators, who are never counted in today's lists. Charles Curtis, a Kansa chief, was Vice President. He's memoryholed. The same goes for disability. See FDR. Black scientists? See Carver, for Christ's sake. Black business owners and doctors and teachers? Vastly more common before 1946.

The modern diversitarians create divisions and prejudices and obstacles by forcing people to FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS on the divisions. This is their sole purpose. Diversitarians EMPHATICALLY DO NOT WANT to advance opportunities for their special groups. They want to create chaos and war.

Later addition: Magufuli, president of Tanzania and THE ONLY PRO-SCIENCE LEADER IN THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD, also started out as a professional scientist. He was trained as a chemist, then worked as a chemist for 10 years before turning to politics. When the satanists want scientists in politics, they emphatically and diametrically DO NOT WANT real scientists like Magufuli who use REAL SCIENCE to precisely disprove and falsify the fake "science" of the holocaust.

Followup: Turns out Hartness didn't really invent this scope mechanism, but it's fascinating anyway.

  Vaguely interesting but irrelevant

The World Health Organization now agrees with real science, after 9 months of agreeing with psychopaths.
Dr David Nabarro, the WHO's Special Envoy on Covid-19, tells Andrew Neil: 'We really do appeal to all world leaders: stop using lockdown as your primary control method'.
Will this change anything? No. The demons used WHO as the weapon of "science" when WHO agreed with the demons. Now that WHO disagrees with the demons, they will find another "science" weapon.

Youtube and Facebook will continue censoring "skeptics" who disagree with WHO, even though WHO now disagrees with WHO. (There isn't any serious censorship anyway. Fake issue. Real info is easily available for people who want to read it. The problem is that the demonic rulers don't read or use information.)

From the fucking start, the actual numbers published by WHO and CDC have always agreed with reality and disagreed with WHO and CDC's actions and recommendations. From the fucking start, the published data has shown with perfect clarity that the deaths attributed to the "virus" were not added deaths. People who were already dying might choose to die of this "virus" instead of something else. It's a brand preference, nothing more. People who are not already dying have zero risk from this "virus", if in fact there is a "virus".

The existence of the "virus" is arguable, but the NONexistence of an epidemic has never been in the slightest doubt. Observed reality and the published numbers have always agreed that this is NOT an epidemic.

Now the official recommendations of WHO finally agree with WHO's numbers, after millions of lives have been permanently ruined by WHO's recommendations. Millions will continue to die, because demons don't use facts. Demons will simply ignore the recommendation, as they have ignored everything else except their own burning need to destroy the universe.

= = = = =

And just a repeated reminder: After 9 months of holocaust, we STILL DON'T KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL about the blackmail threats, or the channels and methods that synchronized all the demons on March 1 (lockdowns) and June 23 (murder masks). A couple of accidental hot-mic moments have revealed the precisely synchronized ATTITUDES AND EMOTIONS of the demons, but not the communication channels or the carrots and sticks. The organizations that promised to open the secrets turned out to be fakers.

= = = = =

A few days later: WHO is doubling down on real science, publishing and endorsing Ioannidis. Simultaneously, most of Europe is going into hyperholocaust mode, shutting everything down in direct contradiction to the alleged new "attitude" of WHO. The only possible explanation is that WHO is being flipped into an Official Orange Witch Enemy Counterauthority, and some other organization, not yet evident, will quickly take over as Sole Sacred Authority. There's no way a demon like WHO could simply decide to follow reality.

  Bekesy was right as usual

Via Eurekalert, a "new" "discovery" of something that Bekesy already discovered.
Rayleigh waves are created by impact between objects and are commonly thought to travel only along surfaces. The team discovered that, when it comes to touch, the waves also travel through layers of skin and bone and are picked up by the body's touch receptor cells.

Using mathematical modelling of these touch receptors the researchers showed how the receptors were located at depths that allowed them to respond to Rayleigh waves. The interaction of these receptors with the Rayleigh waves will vary across species, but the ratio of receptor depth vs wavelength remains the same, enabling the universal law to be defined.
Why would you assume that mechanical waves travel only on surfaces? When the substance is elastic, waves can travel through its interior. Skin and muscles are elastic. Tsunamis travel on the surface of oceans because water is not elastic.

The wavelength relationship also should have been unsurprising. Tonotopic 'harps' and 'keyboards' are universal in vision and hearing. Each relevant wavelength has its own set of receptors and analyzers.

Still, it's good to see actual verification of Bekesy, yet again. Bekesy experimented with all the senses. Most research has always focused on vision, with some attention to hearing. Touch and smell are rarely explored, and the 'extra' senses for magnetic and static fields aren't even recognized.

The accompanying video is EXCELLENT. Professionally made, with clear narration and a good mix of real scenes and animations. Most research of this type includes a raw video of the experiment or phenomenon, which is interesting for neurology nerds like me. This is the first time I've seen a professional production aimed at ordinary people.

  Reprint on Anticipation

I was going to link this 2017 item in the previous rant about stories and anticipation and purpose. Instead, I'll reprint it.

= = = = = START REPRINT:

Deutsche Welle, normally more Soros than Soros, has a remarkably objective article on Wilders and populism. Objective except for this.....
The number of asylum seekers to the Netherlands dropped by nearly a half last year to about 30,000, in part due to an EU refugee deal with Turkey and the closure of the Balkan route used by migrants to reach Europe.

The latest influx of migrants - mainly from the Middle East and Africa - accounts for only a small fraction of the non-Western population in the country. This suggests that the backlash against immigration is not only about new arrivals.
This is a constant misunderstanding, even by good objective analysts. Common in discussions of regular crime, now appearing again in migrant crime. Analysts assume that people who are currently besieged by a problem must be the most strongly opposed to the problem. Life doesn't work that way.

Who wants the harshest punishments for criminals? Who wants the biggest walls against migrants?

Not people who have never been exposed to crime. If you've always lived in good neighborhoods or had private security services, you don't know what criminals are.

Not people who live in permanently crime-ridden neighborhoods. They've given up.

Harshites are people who ESCAPED from bad neighborhoods, and now see their blessed escape zone turning bad. People who used to be involved in crime and got out.

Life is all about anticipation. Life is about the future. Everything we do and think and feel involves a HUGE helping of anticipation. We understand speech and writing, and we appreciate music, because we're forming templates several phrases ahead of the speaker. We walk and drive by anticipation of future steps and streets. We reproduce and work and plan and save because we are looking at the future for ourselves or our descendants.

If you've never experienced X you can't anticipate X, so you can't spot the initial signs of X creeping into your life. If you've always been flooded with X, anticipation is pointless. You can't see a life without X.

Comrade O'Brien and his followers, and the Innovative Disrupters of the tech-tyrant world, are killers. Anticipation depends on a PERMANENT or at least slowly-changing baseline. When the cultural baseline is constant, we have infinitely detailed templates for every aspect of life, enabling us to get along on sparse perception and minimal conscious thought. We have space and energy for more interesting thoughts or pursuits. When Soros and Bezos yank the ground from under us 100 times in every step, we have to devote ALL our energy and perception to basic survival.

Permanent morality and slow-changing technology are like a savings account. Sorosian picosecond change is like hopeless debt. Needless to say, Soros hasn't missed this analogy; eliminating savings and burning cash are major parts of his omnicide project.

  Looking for patterns is futile

Before 1946, wars had beginnings and ends. WW2 was the last war with a plot, the last war with a PURPOSE, the last war with a definable end, the War to End All Ends.

When things have a PURPOSE and a plot, humans can anticipate and hope and plan. Intelligence means anticipation. Synonymous terms.

In '44 everyone knew the war was nearly over, and everyone was planning for postwar regrowth and flowering.

Three nice examples from Radio Retailing in July '44.

Since the Deepstate coup of '46, all of our wars continue forever, or until we're physically kicked out of the country and forced to run for our lives, as we were in Vietnam. Our wars have no PURPOSE except evil, so our wars have no PATTERN or PLOT or END. Evil never ends.

The current holocaust is unique in some ways. It's unique because we're not making war against foreigners. We're making total war against our own people. But the plotless and endless aspect is strictly typical.

Even so, humans naturally understand and tell stories. Our dreams form events into stories. We expect each day and each piece of work and each piece of music and each life to have a definable plot with a predictable shape.

So we try to look for shapes and patterns and analogies in the current incalculably crazy war against life. When we see sane governors ending the war, we try to look for similar patterns in our crazy places. We see VE Day in Florida, and we look for VJ Day in Washington. Unfortunately the pattern doesn't give us any clues. Sane governors stop wars because they're sane. Demonic governors are demonic, so they have no conceivable reason to end the war. Ending the war would end their pleasure, and that's INTOLERABLE UNIMAGINABLE ALL OPTIONS ON THE TABLE.
