Nothing hesitant or delicate about his latest publication, with two equally courageous and CURRENTLY EMPLOYED academic coauthors.

The core conclusion:

Experienced modelers drew early on parallels between COVID-19 and the Spanish flu [2] that caused >50 million deaths with mean age at death being 28. We all lament the current loss of life. However, as of June 8, total fatalities are ~410,000 with median age ~80 and typically multiple comorbidities.

Predictions for hospital and ICU bed requirements were also entirely misinforming. Public leaders trusted models (sometimes even black boxes without disclosed methodology) inferring massively overwhelmed health care capacity (Table 1) [3]. However, eventually very few hospitals were stressed, for a couple of weeks. Most hospitals maintained largely empty wards, waiting for tsunamis that never came. The general population was locked and placed in horror-alert to save the health system from collapsing. Tragically, many health systems faced major adverse consequences, not by COVID-19 cases overload, but for very different reasons. Patients with heart attacks avoided visiting hospitals for care [4], important treatments (e.g. for cancer) were unjustifiably delayed [5], mental health suffered [6]. With damaged operations, many hospitals started losing personnel, reducing capacity to face future crises (e.g. a second wave). With massive new unemployment, more people may lose health insurance. The prospects of starvation and of lack of control for other infectious diseases (like tuberculosis, malaria, and childhood communicable diseases for which vaccination is hindered by the COVID-19 measures) are dire [7,8].

The important part is median age 80 and typically multiple comorbidities. In plain English, as everyone knows by now, this epidemic is killing people who were ALREADY DYING. If this virus didn't finish them off, another virus or bacterium would, or just another month of trying to live.

In return for NOT SAVING these people who are ALREADY DYING and WOULD DIE ANYWAY, we've ruined 6 billion lives. Everyone on earth. Millions of people will die LONG before their scheduled times, as every system from food to medicine to business to education to immunity to plain old SANITY has been totally and permanently disrupted.

Is that a good deal? NOT saving people who were already dying, in exchange for CAUSING millions of premature deaths and ruining EVERYONE?

Footnote: It's clear from scientific articles at the time that the 1918 flu was a mix of bacterial pneumonia and viral influenza. Viruses were not well understood at the time; we couldn't see them until the electron microscope was invented in the '30s. Bacteria were seen and understood, and scientists at that time were seeing lots of pneumococcus bacteria in the flu cases. They often treated the entire epidemic as bacterial. There's no way to guess in retrospect how many of the deaths were from each microbe and how many were mixed; but for sure the 1918 epidemic couldn't be a model for a pure virus epidemic.

Over the last few years, I've donated thousands of dollars to good teachers through DonorsChoose.org. Today they sent me an email joining the genocidal war against police and inviting me to help serve Satan.

I'm done.

Before this, the organization was a carefully neutral conduit to teachers. Some of the teachers were working for Satan, but that wasn't a problem. I could send money to non-Satans. The donations were specifically aimed and NOT FUNGIBLE. Now the organization itself has officially chosen the side of infinite evil.

In the big picture this isn't surprising. It's just good old O'Sullivan. Every organization with a central headquarters converges to Satan sooner or later. But it's still disheartening and disgusting after such a long run of public neutrality.

This also fits into the larger Share Value pattern. Big corporations no longer need or want customers or employees, because pure manipulation of stock numbers is much more efficient. Politicians no longer need or want voters. Now big charities no longer want donors.

Really no point in going through these details. It was clear from the start that the lockdowns were a SCHEDULED EVENT, and the virus was just a handy peg to hang the war on.

Even so, this detail is vaguely interesting. A map of current data, showing that the deaths in most states are mainly in nursing homes. This is completely unsurprising, since people in nursing homes are SCHEDULED TO DIE quite soon, and any virus will pull them across the line.

Here in the Mad Kingdom of Mad Thrill Killer Inslee, 63% of the deaths have been in nursing homes, which was immediately obvious at the start and HASN'T CHANGED SINCE THE START. Most of them were in ONE nursing home in Kirkland.

So we've ruined lives forever and crashed all businesses and schools, because ONE NURSING HOME allowed ONE VIRUS to take its ready-to-die patients instead of ANOTHER VIRUS. This isn't even a result of poor practices in the nursing home. It's just one brand of virus instead of another brand. Coke instead of Pepsi.

I was going to make an analogy to asbestos, which was a real problem with bad safety practices in ONE FACTORY. Johns Manville workers deserved compensation and got it. AND THEN, lawyers and regulators leveraged this ONE FACTORY into a broad ban on a necessary and irreplaceable material, leaving the whole country less fire-resistant and less insulated, requiring all sorts of changes in energy systems and fire suppression systems.

But this is hyperexponentially beyond asbestos. A perfectly normal and TAUTOLOGOUS fact (people die when they're ready to die) has been leveraged into a brutal holocaust.

Let's try this as a syllogism.

1. People die when they're ready.

2. People die of various causes.

3. THEREFORE: We must destroy the world.

  Small experiment
I'd been hoping for some kind of balanced experiment on shutdown vs non-shutdown. A map of 'hot spots' seen at ZH starts to answer the question. The map shows hot spots for Branded Swine Flu, and it uses per capita numbers instead of simple numbers. In this metro area, the map has separate spots for Spokane itself and Coeur d'Alene. Both are small and equal. We have about a dozen confirmed cases and no deaths.

Wash and Idaho have performed the experiment. Wash, including Spokane, shut down schools early and permanently, and the shutdown of normal life has been clamping down harder day by day. Idaho was much slower to close schools and life, just starting this week.

In this one small experiment ... SO FAR ... the early shutdowns didn't make any difference. There wasn't a huge import of viruses, so the slow infiltration seems to have allowed immune systems to catch up. The real key in any epidemic is big doses vs small doses. In places like Seattle with a huge Chinese population and lots of Chinese travel, the initial dose was big.

Also, I'd been wondering who developed the shutdown technique. China did, and we mindlessly copied it from China without asking whether it worked or not. We've offshored all of our engineering and manufacturing to China, so I guess we just offshored our public health "thinking" as well. There wasn't any experiment at that stage, so we didn't know or care whether the advertised result came from developed immunity or shutdown. Now that China is REMOVING the shutdown, we're questioning China's reports of success, while continuing to use China's technique because it suits our power-mad holocausters.

Maybe it helps, and maybe it makes a difference, but the only thing we know FOR SURE is that the shutdowns WILL kill vastly more people than the virus. No experiment needed. When you starve people they die.

In politics and economics and science we keep trying new "solutions" for old problems. THERE ARE NO NEW PROBLEMS. ALL PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A LOOOOOOONG TIME, AND ALL PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED OR MITIGATED BY LONG EXPERIENCE. New solutions are guaranteed to fail, and THAT'S WHY WE USE THEM. The worst part of this grotesque play is that nobody can sleep properly. We're all waiting for the next jackboot to fall. Sleep is crucial for immunity. Everyone is getting grumpy and distracted. Big question: Who invented this "distancing" and "shutdown" shit? It's a brand new idea, never used in previous epidemics.

As always, we're inventing nonsensical ANTI-SOLUTIONS, guaranteed to MAKE THE PROBLEM WORSE. We're ignoring a hundred years of real public health techniques. The first step in an honest quarantine is to stop travel. We still haven't done it. Instead we shut down everything else, which was NEVER DONE IN PREVIOUS EPIDEMICS.

We're copying Elon. He ignores all experience in both directions. He refuses to do things that are known to work, and insists on doing things that are known to fail.

Uncharacteristically, Elon himself is taking the opposite vector in this mess. He seems to be on the sane side, though maybe he's just doing it to irritate the screechy short-selling fairies who were the earliest adopters of the current Holocaust.

Later: The US death count started accelerating AFTER the total shutdown. Before the shutdown it was increasing slowly. Post hoc doesn't prove anything by itself, but when X comes before Y you need to ASK AND EXAMINE whether X is causing Y. While we're endlessly and inconclusively squabbling about the rigged Iowa primary, Germany gives us an even more egregious example.

The premier (governor) of Thuringia was just elected. He was immediately forced to resign because some of the votes came from people with the wrong beliefs.

If you want a revolution, this is the ideal way to get there. Repeatedly punch ordinary people in the face and spit on them. Tell them to "vote" because "democracy", then overturn the election because the voters were thinking wrong. Only Chairman Soros Thought exists. NonSoros Thought is EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE.

  Proving the wrong point
I started to read this article on the Y2K bug, and immediately AVG popped up:



Probably not a coincidence. Scripts of this type have been rare lately; this is the first popup I've seen in many months. Some idiot hacker just couldn't resist the appropriate placement.

Most of the article was straightforward and accurate, but the author spoiled its impact by doing EXACTLY what he accused others of doing.

Those who didn’t prepare were protected thanks to the efforts of those who did. There is ample evidence, thanks to preparedness exercises, code reviews and the like, that if not addressed, the impact of Y2K would have been much more significant.

Unfortunately, the contrarian view has wormed its way into other important areas of policy. Climate change deniers and anti-vaccination activists often raise the lack of impact of the Y2K bug as evidence that experts are not to be trusted.

Well, the Y2K bug DIDN'T prove that experts can't be trusted. But the "climate" hoax DOES prove that experts can't be trusted. The experts, working explicitly for Deepstate, have been running this hoax for 45 years, destroying entire industries and countries and killing millions of people.
