We're doing our job, Tulsi.
Tulsi's campaign is emphasizing RESPECT:
One young man in Iowa from the small town of Albia shared that in his town, people can’t even look each other in the eyes at the corner store. He said people have lost friends and even their businesses because of political differences. Conversations that were once casual and friendly have become tense and strained. People are feeling hopeless. Left behind. Bitter with not just the state of politics, but the impact that it’s had on their closest relationships.
Well, this isn't new. It started in the '70s, marked by the Deepstate "Watergate" coup. Deepstate has been intentionally ruining civilization and generating chaos for 50 years now.
Team thinking was the core of NSA's web from the start, in the BBS and Usenet era. Every forum on every subject instantly divided into Team A and Team B, and anyone who tried to express an attitude outside the chalk lines was SMASHED into oblivion.
Nothing has changed since then in the online world. Reinforced by cable "news" and Randian Radio, everyone is NYC.
I really want you to hear this, David: It doesn’t need to be this way. In our movement, we not only respect, but deeply appreciate, that our great nation is made up of a rich diversity of views and attitudes. That progress cannot be made when we fear differences of opinion, resort to cancel culture, or when we allow our leaders and the media to fan the flames of division. On the campaign trail, Tulsi has the opportunity to meet people from across the political spectrum, from all walks of life and with all different (and often very strongly held) points of view. We do our best to ensure that at our gatherings, we create an environment of aloha and respect that is so lacking from our political discourse. We may respectfully disagree, yet we are still able to look each other in the eyes and have a conversation.
It's nice that your bot calls me by name, Tulsi, but frankly I don't see any of that shit in daily life. In this neighborhood, Tulsi, most people mind their own business and treat others with respect and kindness. We are the exact opposite of NYC, which never gives, never pays, never makes, never thanks. We try to yield and tolerate, and we try to be thankful when others yield and tolerate.
Are we really unusual or unique, Tulsi? Maybe, but I doubt it. This area is thoroughbred Deplorable. Lower middle to poor, struggling single parents and comparatively comfortable oldsters. Quite a few homeowners are taking in boarders or hooking up RVs in their yards. Mixed race, about one black family on each block, a lot of NW tribes. No NYC types, no Randians. [The city is dysgoverned by a Randian NYC carpetbagger who has done incalculable damage to the place and the people, but fortunately he doesn't condescend to enter Deplorable neighborhoods.]
So I say yet again that RESPECT is nice, but we're already there. We're doing our job, Tulsi. Talk is cheap, and the old uniter not divider shit is the cheapest of all.
When will you start doing your job as candidate, Tulsi? When will you tell us something we don't already know? When will you tell us what you PLAN TO FUCKING DO?
= = = = =
Later, looking at social media, it appears that lots of people had similar reactions. Don't tell us to be kind and tolerant. You're in a position of power right now, Tulsi. You can DO something about these problems. We can't. Start DOING it, and then we'll be more inclined toward kindness.
Me-first, You-first
Yesterday I was bored enough to read quora.com for a while. Quora is a good place for cross-cultural comparisons, often asked as "What habits of nation X are shocking to Americans?" I happened to read some items about Spain that did actually surprise me. Spain is definitely a Me-first culture, where everyone minds everyone else's business and nobody ever yields or thanks.
Quora writers from India are disgusted at the You-first habits of England and non-NYC America. They can't understand why we waste time on gratitude or waste money on paying people for service.
Reminded me that I'd written a pretty decent defense of You-first recently, at a time when my prose generator was working well.

= = = = = END REPRINT.
Tulsi, of course, hasn't improved. She's still all talk and no action. I gave up on her a long time ago.
A more important question: How do cultures become Me-first or You-first? It's not simply or clearly genetic.
China and Japan are genetically and culturally close, but China is extreme Me-first and Japan is extreme You-first. China's Me-first isn't new. Earlier writers observed it, and my father observed it when he served in Shanghai in WW2. So it's not just a product of Mao.
The Spanish writers at Quora believed that Spain's Me-first started from the 1936 revolution. Seems possible. Earlier accounts of Spain showed an extreme You-first.
Latitude may be more important than genes. The Me countries tend to be warmer, and the You countries tend to be colder.
One particular set of genes seems to carry You-first. The old tribes of Siberia and America are vectors of You-first. The You-first parts of USA were strongly influenced by the old tribes, and the Me-first parts are more purely Euro. This would also hold true for Japan, where Han Chinese mixed with Siberian genes. Since these genes tend to stay in northern latitudes, this may be the real cause of the latitude connection.
Again, these correlations are weak and breakable, subject to change by major cultural shifts.
Bye, Tulsi
I've been cautiously and tentatively** supporting Tulsi because her WORDS seemed to be on the right side ... while watching carefully for contrary indications. I've been fooled TOO MANY TIMES, and by god I'm not going to be fooled again.
Here's the perfect contrary indication.
News item:
“Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey followed up his earlier 2019 donation to Andrew Yang — by giving several thousand dollars to Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s presidential campaign and another thousand to Yang. According to the FEC filings for Tulsi NOW, Dorsey donated $5,600 — the maximum donation — to Gabbard the day after the first Democratic debate.”
Bye, Tulsi.
@Jack is deep deep deep deep dark dark dark dark Deepstate. He knows EVERYTHING. If @Jack thinks you're worth supporting, I can be 10000000000000000000% certain that you're a nasty vile warmongering monstrous alien genocidal faker. Just another AP like Trump.
** Well, maybe not so cautiously on a percentage basis. I gave $50 to Tulsi's campaign, which is 1/3000 of my net worth. @Jack gave $5600, which is one millionth of his net worth.
Leaders shouldn't be puzzles.
I went back and looked at what I've written about Tulsi. No less than 17 items, a rough road of hills and valleys, a tangled struggle with yes and no. That's better! That's worse! Bye, Tulsi! Hi, Tulsi! DO YOUR FUCKING JOB, TULSI!
Summing up, a leader must be a DECIDER. A leader shouldn't be a philosophical puzzle. A leader is supposed to LEAD. A leader is supposed to present a CLEAR set of principles and a CLEAR set of actions that IMPLEMENT THE PRINCIPLES.
Tulsi offers ONE clear principle, which is the most important principle right now. STOP WAR. Because she's currently in Congress, she has the opportunity to show how her DECISIONS implement the principle. But she fails. She has voted for war more often than against; and her vote on impeachment was an intentional NON-DECISION. Powerless people can and should refuse to participate in fake decisions. Powerful people must DECIDE. If she thought impeachment was a bad idea, the only correct DECISION was to vote against impeachment, not to stay neutral.

What is Tulsi up to?
The question gets stronger every day. She started out as the torch-bearer for the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE, war vs peace, intervention vs minding our own fucking business.
Now she's focusing on a vague and meaningless question of "fitness". It's not age that matters, it's "fitness", whatever the fuck that means.
Age does matter. I'm 69, and I know how the body and mind start to decline. Many other wrinklies have expressed the same experience-based judgment. We see Biden struggling with words, Bernie having a heart attack, Hillary falling more than walking. Some old folks are still going strong at 80, but most aren't, and our political examples are in the latter category.
Beyond that, Tulsi still hasn't specified what she will DO to suppress or break the war machine. She hasn't spilled any beans from the classified briefings she gets in Congress, hasn't offered any solutions to the problems that she accurately describes.
Dammit, WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We had three Presidents who DID SOMETHING about war and Deepstate. Harding, FDR, and Eisenhower. We don't have public information on HOW those three managed to subdue Deepstate and GET SHIT DONE, but a member of Congress would have access to the information. A serious and sincere non-interventionist would be finding and reading those three Users Manuals, and figuring out how to apply the methods to the current hyperlunatic monstrosity.
We also have a very recent partial example. Obama obeyed Deepstate during his first term, letting Hillary start a new war every week. In his second term he fired Hillary and took a couple of hesitant steps away from universal permanent war, loosening the blockades of Persia and Cuba. Obama wasn't explicitly punished, but Hillary took revenge by installing Trump, who promptly resumed universal permanent war.
At this point the best conclusion is that Tulsi is just another Pied Piper like Trump, an attractive trapper who gathers up peace-loving people and neuters them, absorbs their energy in nothingness. Like what mucus does to bacteria, except that Tulsi is prettier than snot.

Bye Tulsi 2
Tulsi is suing Google for blocking her ads during a crucial few hours after the first debate.
Google's response is blazingly dishonest:
“In this case, our system triggered a suspension and the account was reinstated shortly thereafter,” a spokesperson for the company told The Federalist. “We are proud to offer ad products that help campaigns connect directly with voters, and we do so without bias toward any party or political ideology.”
Every programmer knows that the "automatic unbiased trigger" is a lie. Algorithms obey the people who write the constants.
BUT: I gave up on Tulsi a couple weeks ago after learning that @Jack gave her a maximum contribution. I wrote:
@Jack is deep deep deep deep dark dark dark dark Deepstate. He knows EVERYTHING. If @Jack thinks you're worth supporting, I can be 10000000000000000000% certain that you're a nasty vile warmongering monstrous alien genocidal faker. Just another AP like Trump.
Now we see what @Jack got for his contribution. Tulsi is working for @Jack and suing @Jack's competitors. It's all mobs from top to bottom. Nobody is trying to improve things or make things. Everybody is trying to STOP all improvement. It's mutually assured nothingness, mutually assured chaos and entropy.
That's a little better, Tulsi
Tulsi is starting to get specific at last.
Based on my own jail experience, most of these steps are good, but she's still missing the key distinction between lifelong criminals and lawbreakers and the need for USEFUL WORK. When we had MANUFACTURING WORK in this country, young men could fulfill their GOD-ASSIGNED DUTY to make things. Now that we only have crime at all levels, there's nothing to do but crime.
Semi-related sidenote: It's odd that Hillary calls Tulsi a puppet of Putin. In fact Tulsi is a puppet of Modi. Her biggest source of funding is BJP. If you want to talk about meddling, there's the meddler.
And if you want to talk about aggression, there's your aggressor. Modi is emphatically NOT a non-interventionist. He recently made a grab for Kashmir, and is threatening a complete ethnic cleansing of the place, moving in Hindus to replace all the Muslims, with a real risk of nuclear war.
It's an interesting distinction. All other candidates are solely and strictly loyal to Israel. Any loyalty other than Israel is treason. The worst treason of all is an attempt to represent American interests. So India is treason for sure, but why does India automatically translate to Russia? India is certainly drifting toward the Russian side, but it's not more firmly linked to Russia than several other countries. India and Saudi are about equal in their eastward drift, but Saudi counts as "American" "patriotism" while India counts as RUSSIAN_AGGRESSION.
Least surprising political development of the century
The sun rose this morning. Tulsi endorsed Biden this morning.
Nuff said.
If you still think that "politics" and "voting" and "elections" exist, after 220 years of consistent disproof, you are too fucking stupid to breathe.
= = = = =
Later: I'm still thoroughly puzzled by Tulsi's PURPOSE. What was she trying to DO? She got the antiwar viewpoint into a few places where it might not have been heard before, but it was clear almost from the start that she didn't intend to CHANGE anything. The best ACTION would have been spilling Deepstate's beans, reading out the redacted shit from documents about the Iraq and Afghan wars and 9/11. As a member of Congress she had access to those documents, and she had the legal privilege of reading them into the record. Every time she had a chance to make a MEANINGFUL move, she spoiled it or forfeited it.
What did she hope to accomplish by gathering some followers and then turning them over to Hillary in the end? The only rational explanation is another Pied Piper routine. Suck the heretics out of the woodwork, get their names via donations, then turn them over to Deepstate for EXTERMINATION. Or less deadly, suck them out of the woodwork and guarantee that they will never participate in politics again.
If the latter, she's doing a real service for those followers. Just as both Bernie and Trump permanently betrayed and disgusted their followers, Tulsi has betrayed and disgusted a different group. This is GOOD AND HEALTHY LEARNING. As I said above, anyone who doesn't understand Manweller's Rule is dangerously stupid.
Joaquin Flores at Strategic-Culture thinks those betrayed people will come together and create a revolution. I doubt it.
AP = QCZuesse points out that Tulsi's actual votes in Congress were strictly in line with D and R orthodoxy on Russia. Every vote, and every public statement until this year's candidacy, was firmly against Russia and for the blockades and sanctions.
I've given up waiting for Tulsi to DO something meaningful. The only possible conclusion is that Tulsi is a milder version of the Trump Pied Piper. She's an Agent Provocateur. Putting it another way, she's a quality control magnet. Her job is to draw off and identify unorthodox voters so they can be explicitly discarded.

If you're serious, be serious.
Gabbard's record is impressive and consistent and unique. Since entering politics she's been anti-intervention without any partisan nonsense. Aggressive war is bad no matter which party does it.
Her entrance in the presidential circus is NOT impressive and NOT unique. Platitudes about "uniter not divider" and incomprehensible garble about "Aloha spirit".
Supposedly aloha means hello and goodbye.
Hello, Tulsi! Goodbye, Tulsi! Now we've got the spirit!
= = = = =
If you're serious about breaking out of the partisan circus, you've got to do MUCH better. No platitudes. Start with HARDASS REALITY.
Politics IS dividing.
That's the ENTIRE DEFINITION of the job. You're applying for a job as Chief Divider. Your job interview must give us a sense of HOW you want to divide, and WHICH SIDE of the resulting division you want to favor. "Uniting" is another name for total absolute tyranny. "Uniting" can only happen when every living thing moves and thinks in precise unison, which means DEATH.
If you're aiming at the non-interventionist crowd, you need to show us your ability to resist Deepstate's blackmail and trickery. So far you haven't. "I'm not a racist" is exactly the wrong response to the standard accusations. By PLEADING INNOCENT you have merely started the trial. Now the trial can proceed along well-established tracks to your exile or execution.
The correct response is to jump down their evil throats from a surprising direction. Salvini is the master of this method. Study his tactics.

Ah. That's better.
A fitting finale for my Objective History Mode week.
Joe Rogan interviews Tulsi, and she finally gets a chance to talk Objective History in full paragraphs without idiotic interruptions and idiotic questions. Rogan asks hard questions, but never asks trite or trivial questions.
Been waiting for this for a long time. Should have happened earlier. Still not convinced of Tulsi's intentions, but her grasp of HARDASS REALITY is unquestionable.

Reverse the saying
Rehashing the Shared Lie:
Deepstate always wants us to argue about meaningless details. Names and numbers. Divide and conquer, even within the individual. Cognitive Dissonance and Room 101 keep our brains internally divided and incapable of asking proper questions.
The cure for Deepstate is to stand back, ignore the details, avoid taking either of the assigned "sides" in Deepstate's puppet show, and simply do our duty. Make more life, more value, more beauty. We don't have a duty to ask bigger questions, but the bigger questions are at least possible when we ignore the details.
The devil is in the details validly describes the 80/20 structure of completed jobs.
The details are in the devil tells us how to handle a shared lie or a flat assertion.
On the other side, we could use more details, or simply more concrete realism, from people who claim to be working against the shared lie. Tulsi asks the right questions, but she's not just a blogger. She's interviewing for an executive job, and she doesn't seem to understand the job. We could use more 80/20. We could use a broad sense of what she will work on first. As I've mentioned before, we have three Users Guides for breaking Deepstate. Harding, FDR, Ike. From an outside view we can see that each of them subdued Deepstate and enforced non-intervention. As a current member of Congress and the military, Tulsi has access to better information. She could have assigned staff to analyze the methods that ACTUALLY WORKED in the past, and develop a broad plan of action.
New Manweller method
Interesting insight on Brexit from Rod Liddle at Spiked.
Of course this is just good old Manweller's Rule in action. Elections that count don't count. Or more precisely, elections that make a real change in policy or agenda are not allowed to count.
Liddle observes that this British way of implementing Manweller is new. Normally Deepstate invalidates the election through blackrobed demons, who legislate that it was held improperly or counted improperly or corruptly influenced or whatever the demons feel like saying.
This time Deepstate invalidated the Brexit referendum because the voters are invalid. People who want to make a real change are NOT QUALIFIED to vote.
Neither the old Soviet Deepstate nor the US Deepstate had ever used this method. Now it will be the norm.
Come to think of it, the new method is already being used to exterminate Tulsi's voters, who unquestionably want a real change. People who want Tulsi are literally Unpersons and thus can't possibly be counted. Things that don't exist can't be counted.
Later thought: This method wasn't possible at the national level in previous decades because it required precise knowledge of who voted. It worked in old-fashioned precinct elections where the poll watchers knew every voter personally, but not in big national votes. Now, thanks to NSA and Facebook et al, Deepstate knows everything about everybody, so it knows exactly which votes are null. And thanks to computer-based voting, Deepstate can instantly and undetectably delete the Deletables.
She's not the most interesting part
Tulsi has finally done what she should have done a couple months ago. Held her own meaningful debate simultaneous with the meaningless "debate" of DNC/HRC.
She's discussing current events with Kucinich and Kinzer. Tulsi is boring, always saying the same things but never DOING much. Kucinich is the interesting part. His actions in Congress were consistent.**
I hadn't seen Kucinich in several years, and expected him to look much older now. Strangely, he doesn't. He speaks in literary terms, says interesting and unexpected things, which always make sense, always advance the cause.
Maybe I'll vote for him, just to see the write-in register in the meaningless counts.
** Looking back at previous mentions of Kucinich, I see that he wasn't always consistent. Here and here I was frustrated when he failed to follow through on his beliefs.

Silly Tulsi
I'm getting tired of vain futile "attempts" to prove a point that doesn't need proving.
Latest example: Tulsi wasted money in an "attempt" to sue Hillary for defamation. Hillary has refused to accept the subpoena, and that's the end. Nothing more will happen. No lawyer or "judge" will work against the Clinton mob, because no lawyer or "judge" wants to be tortured and killed.
Hillary is the law. Using "written" "laws" to sue Hillary is like using gravity to sue gravity, or using existence to sue existence. Physically impossible.
If you want to diminish Hillary's power, you need to use appropriate tools. Counter wicked blackmail with INFINITELY MORE WICKED blackmail. Counter force with a trillion times as much force.

The imperceptible Insatiable
I've described a classic Insatiable response to Deplorables...
Other people enjoy discussing my faults in my presence, knowing that the bottom-status item will not fight. One of them realized I was listening. He gave me the standard imperceptible headshake with hooded eyes and pursed lips, meaning "You are shit".
... but I've never tried to catch a video example of the gesture. Now somebody has caught it in an interaction of Kamala and Tulsi. Kamala is unquestionably Insatiable. Tulsi isn't Deplorable in the broad picture, but she's clearly Deplorable as seen by Kamala.
One of the commenters uses almost the same words:
Next time someone embarrasses me with a valid, fact-filled argument for which I have zero retort, I’ll smirk, disapprovingly shake my head, and pretend to scribble on a notepad
Is Tulsi finally getting serious?
Tulsi has decided not to seek re-election to Congress. Will this allow her to speak more plainly, without fear of losing local voters? Hope so, but remains to be seen. She undoubtedly has a clear purpose and mission. So far her words have been bland and purposeless, never specifying what she will DO.
ALL_BOT
Gabbard is starting to pick up a little after a flat start. She's hitting back fairly hard against the genocidal media with its vile destruction of all truth.
Let's ask a broader question: Aside from the infinitely loony RUSSIAN_BOT crap, would Russia prefer a less aggressive America? Fuck yes.
Even broader: Which other countries would ALSO prefer a less murderous America?
EVERY COUNTRY EXCEPT SAUDI AND ISRAEL.
And there are signs that even Saudi is getting tired of the game, starting to hedge its bets with some Russian weapons.
So: If we're going to identify Tulsi as an 'agent' for some country, the most accurate identification is that she is an 'agent' for all the world except Saudi and Israel.
Tulsi is not a RUSSIAN_BOT, she is a WORLD_BOT.
= = = = =
I'm irrelevantly but irresistibly reminded of the old FBI radio show, which was a fake cover story for the incalculably evil real FBI, but had lots of good writing and acting anyway. At the end of EVERY episode, the criminals just happened to be gathered in one place, ready to shoot each other. Right at that moment the FBI dudes always broke in and said "We're agents for the FBI. Here are our credentials."
This would be a nice ending for the USA Imperial Crime Syndicate episode.
"We're agents for the rest of the world. Here are our credentials."
Nice but too late
Listening to Tulsi's live event. Mostly the same story she tells every time.
She just said "How do you GET SHIT DONE?"
Bravo. Too late. She should have started talking HARDASS a lot earlier.
It still wouldn't have made any difference because Hillary is automatic and permanent empress. But HARDASS talk would have reached a few more people, perhaps stirred a few more heretical thoughts. Tulsi's relentless dry calm rational discourse simply doesn't penetrate.

Analog Tulsi, sort ofSpeaking of analog simplicity....Tulsi is pushing to return "elections" to paper ballots counted by hand. Excellent goal, but I'm not sure that her implementation is aimed in the right direction.
The most important point is MODULARITY. Handling and counting paper ballots is innately modular. There's no way for a central power like the imaginary "Russians" or the real DNC to change all results with one keypress.
As I showed in detail, counting at the precinct level is NOT slower than centralized counting, and can be faster.
Best implementation: All voting by mail, using NCR-paper ballots that automatically produce a copy. You can keep the copy, enabling later verification if you want to take the trouble.
Every system can be corrupted and cheated. The important variable is difficulty and expense. Decentralized HUMAN counting of PAPER ballots with COPIES would make cheating harder and more expensive than central electronic systems.
