The usual shared lies, one SHARED TRUTH
Judging by the spam in my email, "voting" "rights" for felons is the latest shared lie for Repooflicans.
All the issues connected with "voting" "rights" are shared lies. Rs and Ds argue fiercely about every jot and tittle of eligibility, while completely ignoring the vast number of ELIGIBLE voters who no longer give a fuck because Rs and Ds are arguing fiercely about jots and tittles instead of DOING THEIR FUCKING JOBS.
Numerically: About 2 million Americans are incarcerated. Most of them are not going to vote anyway, because most of them turned to criminality out of total futility. They're not likely to favor EITHER of the fake "sides" in a system that has totally failed to provide a civilized place for them.
But even if we assume falsely that their participation rate will be the same as non-prisoners, we'd get about 1 million new voters.
So R and D are arguing about
1 million alienated non-voters while TOTALLY IGNORING the
87 million alienated non-voters who could be attracted to a party that GETS SHIT DONE.
Unfortunately, GETTING SHIT DONE is physically impossible. Unacceptable, intolerable, all options on the table EXCEPT solving a problem.

ZeroHedge focused today on two city officials in Connecticut who got into an online slimefest, hurling the usual "take your meds" nonsense at each other. Finally one of them challenged the other to a SHARED TRUTH.
You get your urine tested for drugs, and I will too. Amazingly, both of them FULFILLED THEIR PROMISES
(and their cups) IMMEDIATELY, and both passed the test easily.
ZH concluded:
More important than proving their sobriety, both Newton and Pereira proved they were great at doing what politicians do best: wasting time, capital and resources on meaningless nonsense.
Well, admittedly they weren't legislating, but unlike ALL other USA STRONG politicians, they GOT PISS DONE. And unlike all other USA STRONG politicians, we know these two were clean and sober for one day.
Dead serious: I'm going to write in both of them on the ballot. Ernest Newton for P, Maria Pereira for VP. Bonus: If Newton can continue getting shit done, his legislative achievements would be known as Newton's Laws.
