Whimper, not bang
The Durban Revival Meeting of the Gaian Apocalyptic Jonestown Cult has come to an end with no Kool-Aid. Instead, they've reached full agreement on the need to meet again sometime, and that's all.
In this case a Whimper is good, considering how many millions of people their Bang would have killed.
This gives more time for the rich countries to go totally bankrupt so we won't be able to spend any more money on anything, no matter how much our monstrous mutant ruling class wants it.
I won't say it gives more time for the ruling class in the West to wake up and face facts. That will never happen. Cameron decides to pull out of the current EU bailout, which will probably lead to further separation of England from EU.

More thoughts on the Grand Blueprint
A half-formed thought ... well, maybe a 1/10 formed thought ... continuing the theme of the Grand Blueprint.
The image of the Grand Blueprint is rapidly sharpening as more genetic research finds more evidence. Looks like the codes for all the basic physical parts of complex animals and plants were present in some distant ancestor, and each type of life picked the codes it needed.
Previous thinking held that life began with simple organic molecules and gradually built up complexity through random mutation.
Nope, change happens by subtraction, not addition.
The addition concept never made a lick of sense. You can't build anything, houses or cars or software, by randomly accumulating happenstance ideas onto a blank slate. In the real world you start with a reasonably complete sense of the finished product, and then do a small amount of subtracting and adding as you find unanticipated limitations or needs.
And now we know that Nature didn't build at random either.

Okay, all of that applies to the physical side.
How about the purposes of life?
You could hypothesize that learning/adapting, communication/reciprocity, emotions/moods, caring/altruism, and competition/deception are major observable purposes of life.
We've known for a long time that our fellow vertebrates share these purposes to varying degrees. Elegant experimental example in the news today: Rats like to help their friends as much as they like chocolate.
In the last decade we've started to realize that simpler animals, plants and protists accomplish the same purposes in surprising ways, often mediated by actual exchanges of genetic material. For instance, we've found that plants are Facebook Friends. They send signals to neighboring plants via underground networks of Mycorrhiza fungus. When a bug starts eating a tomato plant, the plant builds its own chemical weapons against the bug, and also passes a chemical chain letter to its neighbors, telling them to start building their own weapons.
More recently we're seeing that plants send coded gene-modifying messages to their seeds and fruits via messenger RNA, and those codes can be read by our genes when we eat the seeds.
Finally, here's the 1/10-assed question.
Is the blueprint solely meant to provide physical details? Or is it primarily aimed at these 'soulful' purposes? Is the physical design relatively unimportant, varying to suit local conditions and material availability, as long as the purpose is accomplished? Is all of life a feedback loop in which the goal variable is to maximize communication, altruism, etc?
Are all physical organisms just tools to accomplish those purposes?
And does the living universe provide an error-correcting signal when large segments of life deviate seriously from their intended purpose?

The Dawkins and Grayling types are locked into primitive brutal genocidal Leninist ignorance on all topics, refusing to acknowledge that life is anything special. But I do expect better from the Intelligent Design types. Some of them (not all) show a more subtle form of theorigenic blindness. Their need to assume that humans are unique, made in the image of God, prevents them from seeing the full picture of commonality among life forms. They insist that the human version of these purposes is qualitatively different from the canine or plant version.

They have two choices: advocate increasing a tax, which will offend High Priest Grover; or go along with a cut that has The Other Party's Brand on it. Both choices will lose support among the mindless R-bot partisans, which is dangerous for a party. Today's story on Our Suffering Dying Tortured Mother Planet Goddess was about new research on the geological history of the Dead Sea.
Pseudoscientist: "About 120k years ago the Dead Sea went dry all on its own, with no humans anywhere. Of course the reason it's dropping now is that all the countries nearby are taking the water from the rivers before it reaches the sea."
Show host: "So, if the Dead Sea can dry out all on its own, 120,000 years ago, with no human activity, imagine how bad it can be now, when human water use combines with human-induced climate change!
Think about that.
FIRST, let's look at the name of the Dead Sea.

Hedy is spinning
Persia has brought down a US surveillance drone, most likely by giving it direct commands to override the stateside commands.
US authorities are, stupidly as always, trying to claim that it merely crashed.
The picture nicely falsifies that claim. A crash from surveillance altitudes would have destroyed the craft. It was unquestionably brought down under some degree of control, if not total control.
Hedy Lamarr, a physicist before she was an actress, famously designed a frequency-skipping method of communication that later evolved into the modern 'spread-spectrum' technology. Hedy's original purpose was to create protected radio communication from ships to torpedoes, a channel that could not be overtaken or substituted by enemy transmitters.
Obviously we've abandoned that idea with our modern 'air torpedo'.
Roaring backwards as always, heading for the Stone Age as fast as we can pedal our little recycled-cardboard tricycles.

UK Telegraph shows us some hippieshit wind turbines that are providing more clean air than ever! One blew over and the other burned out, so they will no longer need a coal-powered generator to run in parallel with them. This net loss of real coal pollution is a net benefit to the world.

The Gaian Occupation Government on America is rolling out a new version of its post-1989 Gestapo tactics.
Part of this plan is to spot heretics early, as Gestapo and KGB and Stasi have always done.
Okay then.
Do you really want to slow down radicalization in high school?
Here's the answer.
In four short words:
Make girls date nerds.
In longer words: Try to distribute respect and status more equally. Pull some of it away from athletes and cheerleaders, and give some to smart quiet kids.
Give less status to kids who follow the fashionable -isms (i.e. environmentalism, homosexualism, feminism, superficial leftism, and multicuturalism.) Give more status to kids who need and enjoy orderliness and tradition. Especially to those kids whose tradition is religious, whether Evangelical, Catholic, orthodox Jewish or Muslim.
Needless to say, this ain't gonna happen. Educrats are physically and mentally incapable of doing anything positive or good. Educrats always always always always always choose the most destructive and anti-human path available, and if such a path is not yet available they'll blaze one. In this case, we can be certain how educrats would respond to the solution: They would give vastly more status to jocks and the fashionable -isms, and would push the traditional kids further underground, further into isolation and revenge.

Think about it. When you have a significant cohort of young males who are smart, technically competent, disciplined, faithful and hopeless, you're training effective terrorists. When such boys come to the precisely accurate and precisely objective conclusion that both the official education system and the natural adolescent status system are unbreakably stacked against them, you're training effective terrorists.
And that's exactly what the American school system is officially designed to do, by all of its explicitly stated goals. At every step it's perfectly and obviously biased against intelligence, against religion, against males, against non-athletes, against heterosexuals, against common sense, against tradition. Well, it's not quite that bad. There are major parts of the world where Goldman doesn't rule, big areas that will survive as the West drowns in bets and debts.
China, Korea and Japan are smart enough to reject all foreigners, and to reject foreign influence unless it serves their own purposes. They will survive.
Turkey and the new Arab countries have a chance to survive, but it's not certain. They haven't been infected by the Western auto-immune disorder. They have no problem with rejecting Goldman-type foreign influences, but Turkey may depend too much on EU to have the necessary strength. If they can quickly implement the Islamic economic system, they will be immune. Islamic economics forbids all gambling, which includes 'abstract' derivatives; and strictly forbids bailouts. If a risk-taking investor wants to gain, he has to take the loss as well.

Never paranoid enough, again
Every now and then I'll get carried away with paranoia, and my natural caution will damp it down.
Then the real news will pop out somehow, and I'll see that my paranoia was gravely UNDERSTATED; I'll realize that my worst nightmares were only about 10% of the real problem.
Happened in 1969; happened again with Watergate. Happened in 2008 when I could see something coming but didn't realize the full extent of the Mafia takeover until Shotgun Paulson pulled the TARP over the whole unfortunate country.
Now it's happened with the Euro crisis. I've been ranting about Goldman too much, or so I thought ... and was trying to take it down a few clicks..........

I'm totally unsurprised at the lack of mention elsewhere.
But I'm still amazed at all these actors prancing around on the world stage, pretending to be "ruling countries" and "solving problems" while in fact they're just reading Goldman's script. They're openly and brazenly leading an entire continent into total bankruptcy, just as Shotgun Paulson, Rezident Bush, Comrade McCain and Obama did with the US in 2008. The people of Europe know it's all wrong, and they're weakly attempting to protest, but to no avail.

In refreshing contrast to Obama's Orwellian reversal of the word Nationalist, the Scottish Nationalist Party understands the word perfectly!
Especially interesting because there's no direct ethnic tie between Scots and Scandinavians; instead the cultural bond among Northern types is the Elective Affinity that draws them together.
You can see a similar affinity within US. Vermont and Maine tend to have the same character and do the same things as North Dakota and Minnesota. There's very little ethnic connection. Vermont and Maine are mainly English and Scots, while ND and MN are mainly Scandinavian and German. The commonality arises from the removal of warmth-loving people (African and Mediterranean types). Senior SNP strategists are compiling a "prospectus for independence" which they hope to use to sell the idea of separation to Scots ahead of the referendum in 2014 or 2015.
They reveal that SNP leaders want an independent Scotland to look north and east in Europe for partnerships, trade and key defence relationships, rather than continuing to focus on western Europe and the Commonwealth, as the UK does now.

If there are any real environmentalists, they should be worried. The monstrously evil and mass-murdering pseudoscience of "global warming" has completely swamped concerns about actual pollution, and has completely taken over the money that should be used against actual pollution.

You're no TR.
Obama is trying to echo Teddy Roosevelt.
Nope, won't work. TR's main point was that the Trusts [multinational corporations] had become so dominant and overwhelming that the national government needed to take them apart. He was right.
Obama HAD A PERFECT CHANCE to follow TR in his first term. He was faced with a very similar situation, and he SHOULD have taken his example from both Roosevelts. Follow Teddy and break up the corporations; follow Franklin and eliminate the speculators.
Instead he followed Rezident Bush The Son. He continued to REWARD the Trusts and Speculators with trillions and trillions and trillions and trillions and trillions in blackmail payments. He did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to punish the Trusts and Speculators.
Sorry, Barry. You're not entitled to use the Roosevelt name in vain. You're nothing but a Bush. And that's the most profound curse anyone could ever hurl.

Mixed feelings about Obama's positive use of the word Nationalist. Until now, no respectable American politician was permitted to use the word because it properly means "Serving the interests of the PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY."
Now Obama has used the word approvingly, which makes it respectable. (Any word used by an orthodox Democrat automatically becomes respectable to the Satanist-Leninist Poison Vendors. It's like a priest re-sacralizing a cuss word.)
Unfortunately, he has also destroyed the word by turning it backwards. Obama loyally continues the Bush tradition, serving the political and military interests of Israel and the economic interests of China, and destroying the American people in every possible way. So I suppose he could reasonably be called an Israeli Nationalist or a Chinese Nationalist ... Oops, the latter refers to Taiwan, doesn't it? ... But he is the absolute opposite of an American Nationalist. In today's politics, Ron Paul comes closest to Nationalism in military terms, but totally blows it economically by favoring Free Trade.
So the word is now usable, but only with Obama's inverted meaning. The actual policy of Nationalism is still absolutely heretical and strictly illegal. Real Nationalists are still a free-fire zone for FBI snipers. ¶ 6:43 AM

Sentence in NPR's daily report on the Durban Revival Meeting of the Gaian Church:
"Countries are jockeying to avoid blame when the talks collapse...."
Think about that for a minute. Who wants the talks to collapse? Who wants the talks to succeed? Who will blame countries for failure?
The people and small businesses of Western countries would be deliriously happy to see the talks collapse. We are blaming governments for running the greatest crime in history for 20 years without cease. We are blaming governments for wasting trillions that could have helped people and businesses. We are blaming governments for killing millions of people by banning useful chemicals and diverting food into fuel.
Well, cui bono? Who would be pissed if the talks collapse?
China comes first to mind, but China has been ignoring the treaty anyway. China has rationally proceeded to build the power plants and dams that it needs. The hippieshit solar and wind "industries" have added to China's profit, but they're not big enough to matter much.
Those small Pacific island countries want this particular set of talks to give them unlimited and undeserved welfare payments, but are they really important enough to create the sense of guilt evident in the reporter's voice? Dubious.
Nope, the only big and unambiguous beneficiaries of the treaty are multinational corporations and speculators. The treaty gives corporations leverage to create more regulations to kill small competitors, and the treaty gives speculators plenty of chaos, unrest, suffering, starvation and death to bet on.

Simple solution
Two big problems in fed politics:
(1) Congressmen are underpaid. Their salary is nowhere near enough to support two households comfortably. Even if they're not initially corrupt, they have to bring in more money, which opens the door to the corrupters.
(2) In recent elections, party operatives have figured out that it's much more reliable to suppress votes than to invite votes. They've learned how to make the whole shitmess so utterly and ferociously disgusting that rational voters would rather puke their guts up than mark a ballot. This leaves only the reliable robots in the game. (Why is this bad? Because it turns the whole concept of representation upside down. When you're trying to add voters, you're likely to do what voters want. When you're only trying to repel non-robots, you only need to obey the party boss.)
How to solve both problems: Pay for percent. Raise the max salary for Congress up to a half million, and make the annual pay during each term depend on the percent of eligible voters who actually voted in your district. If 70% of all eligible voters turned out, you get 70% of 500K = 350K.
But there's a catch. A base threshold. If the total of all votes in this district is less than 50% of eligible voters, the seat remains unfilled for this term. The district goes without representation for two years, and nobody gets any money or glory. If this results in a completely empty Congress, all the better for this unfortunate country. Congress has created nothing but raw brutal damage and destruction for all of my adult lifetime. Zero Congress = Zero Problems.
But even short of Zero, the base threshold would finally give voters a meaningful way to "throw them all out". For the first time nonvoting would send a real negative feedback signal to the pocketbooks of the "parties" and operatives. Under the current setup nonvoting is exactly what the operatives want you to do, so we have absolutely no way to tell both "parties" to fuck off. ¶ 1:52 PM

True. But at least Russians HAVE a choice outside the current set of corrupt Mafia parties.

Not that the Communist Party's doubling of its vote to about 20 percent presages any imminent assault on power. The memories of repression in the old communist Soviet Union, the labor camps and the regimentation are still too fresh for many. But vote for the Party they did, if perhaps with gritted teeth.
For many Russians disillusioned by rampant corruption and a widening gap between rich and poor, the communists represented the only credible opposition to Putin's United Russia.
Through all the turmoil of the early 1990s when the Soviet Union collapsed, the party kept a strong national organization based on regions and workplace. With access to official media limited for the opposition, this has been a huge advantage.
Also the communists, ironically, benefited from the votes of some pro-Western liberals who saw little or no hope of kindred parties such as economist Grigory Yavlinsky's Yabloko clearing the seven percent threshold to enter parliament. Yabloko doubled their vote to 3.3 percent.
"The Communists are the only real party out there," said one Western banker in Moscow. "United Russia is a joke, Just Russia is a joke and the LDPR is a joke and many people know it. So they vote communist because they realize it is a real vote for the opposition and against United Russia.
"This is as ironic as you get."

Australia finally moves, sort of.
Australia is the last totally zealous official slave to Gaia. Most countries outside EU have abandoned the cause completely, except as a fairly transparent way to beg for undeserved welfare checks. US and UK are maintaining verbal allegiance while quietly slowing down real implementation. AU is roaring ahead all by itself.
Now we finally see a small crack in the loyalty. The provincial gov't of New South Wales is officially asking a gov't department why it censored some TRUE (thus heretical) publications on sea-level rise.
In other words, AU was going even farther than the High Priests of Gaia in silencing dissent!
For a parallel in a different apocalyptic cult, imagine this: An economics prof at Oral Roberts University writes some papers using standard stats to predict housing and income characteristics over the next century. ORU refuses to release the papers because the prof didn't account for The Rapture, which "everyone knows" will change the population of the world dramatically.
Nobody would allow this religious censorship to stand. Yet until now, everyone allowed the Gaian religious censorship to stand. Proof that Gaia is the Established Church for all governments.

NSW Environment Minister Robyn Parker has asked department officials to explain why they put the lid on internal research that questioned catastrophic predictions of sea-level rises as a result of climate change.
A former senior researcher in the department, Doug Lord, said yesterday two papers he co-authored with colleagues and was due to present at conferences were suppressed because they suggested sea-levels on the east coast are rising at only one 10th of the rate estimated by the federal government, based on data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Mr Lord said long-term data gleaned from gauges in Sydney Harbour suggested sea levels were rising at the rate of about 1mm per year. This would lead to a rise of about 90mm by 2100, not the 900mm rise predicted by the IPCC.
"We can't identify an acceleration of the rate, which doesn't mean that it's not there," Mr Lord told The Australian. "But if it's going to reach those levels, it's got to accelerate at some time in the future."
Mr Lord, who does not question the science of climate change, said the papers were pulled by the department at the last minute, after they had been accepted and peer-reviewed.

Musings on mafias
Mafias make money when governments make necessary things illegal, scarce or absurdly expensive.
Most of these 'necessaries' are not universal. Alcohol, gambling and cocaine are only necessary for a segment of humanity with a particular vulnerability. Sex is necessary for nearly everyone, but only a small segment needs more sex than marriage, masturbation and infidelity can provide.
If you doubt this connection, look at the prohibition of alcohol in America from 1920 to 1933. Proves the point with a neat controlled experiment. Gangs started immediately after the 18th Amendment, then faded after the 21st Amendment.
The Carbon Mafia is different.
In this case the government prohibits a set of universal necessities. Everyone needs to breathe. Everyone needs heat in the winter and heat for cooking, everyone needs food, and in richer countries everyone needs fuel for transportation and electricity for communication and industrial processes.
The government sets up the profit environment for the mafia by making breathing, electricity and fuel illegal without proper licenses and permits; and by diverting food crops into completely unnecessary "substitute fuels" to make food scarce and expensive.
The Carbon Mafia then profits massively by re-selling and trading permits and indulgences; by speculating on the effects of future prohibitions; by speculating on the newly-scarce food crops; and finally by raising prices on all energy and food well beyond the percent needed to compensate for the permits and speculation. These Mafia front businesses do not create value or enjoyment for anyone; they exist solely to serve as protection-racket middlemen between the mass-murdering EPA and the vulnerable public. If the genocidal EPA did not exist, protection-racket fronts wouldn't be needed.
Classic mafias are not an unalloyed evil. They kill a few civilians in the crossfire between competing gangs, but also provide temporary pleasure to the people who buy their illegal goods and services.
The Carbon criminals are pure evil, providing pleasure to nobody and mass death to civilians everywhere. Poor people die by the thousands from lack of heat and by the millions from biofuel-induced famine. These deaths vastly overwhelm the thousands killed each year in various Mexican gang wars.

If you doubt this connection, look at the prohibition of alcohol in America from 1920 to 1933. Proves the point with a neat controlled experiment. Gangs started immediately after the 18th Amendment, then faded after the 21st Amendment.
The Carbon Mafia is different.
In this case the government prohibits a set of universal necessities. Everyone needs to breathe. Everyone needs heat in the winter and heat for cooking, everyone needs food, and in richer countries everyone needs fuel for transportation and electricity for communication and industrial processes.
The government sets up the profit environment for the mafia by making breathing, electricity and fuel illegal without proper licenses and permits; and by diverting food crops into completely unnecessary "substitute fuels" to make food scarce and expensive.
The Carbon Mafia then profits massively by re-selling and trading permits and indulgences; by speculating on the effects of future prohibitions; by speculating on the newly-scarce food crops; and finally by raising prices on all energy and food well beyond the percent needed to compensate for the permits and speculation. These Mafia front businesses do not create value or enjoyment for anyone; they exist solely to serve as protection-racket middlemen between the mass-murdering EPA and the vulnerable public. If the genocidal EPA did not exist, protection-racket fronts wouldn't be needed.
Classic mafias are not an unalloyed evil. They kill a few civilians in the crossfire between competing gangs, but also provide temporary pleasure to the people who buy their illegal goods and services.
The Carbon criminals are pure evil, providing pleasure to nobody and mass death to civilians everywhere. Poor people die by the thousands from lack of heat and by the millions from biofuel-induced famine. These deaths vastly overwhelm the thousands killed each year in various Mexican gang wars.
