Both were flipped
Continuing from here. In 1974 Suskind suggested a new Hippocratic Oath for engineers that would have made things worse SOONER.

Thinking about the parallel:

The practical oath, tradition plus Hippocrates, has been flipped upside down for BOTH doctors and engineers.

Before the flip: First do no harm. Hold steady. Stick with EXPERIMENTALLY PROVED SOLUTIONS.

After the flip: Do ONLY harm. Change everything all the time. NEVER do anything that is known to work.

Civil engineers (bridges and sewers) haven't been fully flipped yet, but they are mostly paid to do harm. Environmentalism forces them to tear down dams and bridges, and to build flood generators instead of flood controllers.

Software engineers (the main target of Suskind) were specifically flipped by Larry Ellison and Google. The new slogans are Move fast and break things and Let the fires burn. These are perfectly opposite to the tradition of engineering.

And I don't need to repeat what happened to the former "medical" profession in 2020. Move fast and kill everyone.

In short, both professions traded a Hippocratic Oath for a Psychopathic Oath.

Later: Here's yet another 'open letter' from the tiny fraction of doctors who have NOT flipped. This declaration emphasizes restoring the spirit of the oath:

RESOLVED, that the physician-patient relationship must be restored. The very heart of medicine is this relationship, which allows physicians to best understand their patients and their illnesses, to formulate treatments that give the best chance for success, while the patient is an active participant in their care.

RESOLVED, that the political intrusion into the practice of medicine and the physician/patient relationship must end. Physicians, and all health care providers, must be free to practice the art and science of medicine without fear of retribution, censorship, slander, or disciplinary action, including possible loss of licensure and hospital privileges, loss of insurance contracts and interference from government entities and organizations – which further prevent us from caring for patients in need. More than ever, the right and ability to exchange objective scientific findings, which further our understanding of disease, must be protected.

RESOLVED, that physicians must defend their right to prescribe treatment, observing the tenet FIRST, DO NO HARM. Physicians shall not be restricted from prescribing safe and effective treatments. These restrictions continue to cause unnecessary sickness and death. The rights of patients, after being fully informed about the risks and benefits of each option, must be restored to receive those treatments.

Of course none of this will happen. The rulers are enjoying the game. Endless orgasms. Psychopaths never give up power after they've tasted blood and turned feral. Still, I suppose it's nice to see that a few thousand members of a profession have NOT turned into monsters.

The hundred leading signers are not the 'regular crowd'. I don't see any familiar names. They're currently employed by a variety of clinics and universities, which makes their action GUTSY but still meaningless. Nothing will change, but other professionals may gain a bit of courage when they see someone in a similar position, or someone they know, speaking out and not being fired or assassinated.

From the fucking start it was clear that only MASSIVE UNION STRIKES BY PEOPLE WHO COUNT could make a difference. Recently a real strike by Southwest Airlines workers caused their demonic management to back down on vax mandates. As long as the opposition is scattered, it's meaningless.

  The Great Unmasking goes both ways
Noticing the oddness of Aldous Huxley as a wallpaper critic leads sloppily back to the extreme oddness of this year. Many important people have suddenly flipped in both directions. Previous "independents" have become raging Sorosians, and previous raging Sorosians have turned sane. The former is far more common than the latter.

Sweden, previously the craziest country in the world, is now the ONLY sane country in the Euro world. [Again, Korea and Japan are so intrinsically different that they might as well be a separate species of hominid. I never counted them on either side of the Sorosia map, and can't include them in this comparison.]

Elon, previously the craziest exponent of anti-science, is now at least passively taking the pro-science side.

But many haven't flipped. Holocausters Inslee and Newsom were leading anti-science murderers before this coup, and remain true to psychopathic form. Typhoid Rod Dreher was slashing and burning the Christian world for Boss Soros, and was among the Early Adopters of panication this time. Many of the fake "independents" in the stocks and economics world had removed their masks soon after 2008.

LATER UPDATE: Elon has taken REAL ACTION on the pro-science side. He's used his money and Epstein power to RESTART his factory, openly violating the satanic "laws" of Holocauster Newsom. Because he has Epstein power, even Newsom couldn't stop him. BRAVO, even if Elon is doing it for crass reasons. This is exactly how Natural Law is meant to work. Seeking profit leads psychopaths to serve humanity instead of killing everyone.

  Erdogan is fucking crazy
It's discouraging to watch a leader who once had a firm grasp on reality descend into self-destructive craziness.

Turkey has been playing US against Russia for many decades. The coquette routine works when you're offering favors in return for favors. It doesn't work in the current situation.

Erdogan has inserted himself BETWEEN Russia and USA in Syria, fighting AGAINST both sides. And now he wants USA and Russia to give him more weapons so he can fight AGAINST both sides.

This is like parachuting into Normandy on D-Day and shooting both ways at once, then asking FDR and Hitler for more bullets to shoot more American and Kraut soldiers.

What if Maduro is the real CIA agent?

He's doing everything that the CIA normally accomplishes through its puppets. Like Yeltsin, he's destroying the economy and culture and letting crime run rampant.

He hasn't been assassinated or overthrown. Our supposed agent Guaido failed, thus strengthening Maduro's hold on destructive power. Maduro didn't arrest or prosecute Guaido, which a proper leader of a proper nation would have done instantly.

Russia and China are not trying very hard to help him. This could be because of his natural incompetence, but it could also be from his INSTRUCTED incompetence.

  Mobius day!
Like other out-of-shape codgers, I have trouble keeping pants up. On this morning's store trip the pants seemed unusually steady, staying in place without any adjustment at all.

As I waited for the return bus, I realized the accidental solution: The belt is mobiused. Somehow the clasp side got twisted 180 degrees, and the twist was nicely clamping inward just above the iliac crest, maintaining just enough pressure to halt the usual slide.

A moment later, a Tesla drove by! First Tesla 3 I've ever seen. Immediate stroboscopic impression: it looks old. The paint is chipped in a way that I normally see on 1970s cars.

Appropriate sighting for Mobius Day.
