  New evidence for Svensmark

Via ScienceDaily:
When galactic cosmic rays increased during the Earth's last geomagnetic reversal transition 780,000 years ago, the umbrella effect of low-cloud cover led to high atmospheric pressure in Siberia, causing the East Asian winter monsoon to become stronger. This is evidence that galactic cosmic rays influence changes in the Earth's climate. The findings were made by a research team led by Professor Masayuki Hyodo.

The Svensmark Effect is a hypothesis that galactic cosmic rays induce low cloud formation and influence the Earth's climate. Tests based on recent meteorological observation data only show minute changes in the amounts of galactic cosmic rays and cloud cover, making it hard to prove this theory. However, during the last geomagnetic reversal transition, when the amount of galactic cosmic rays increased dramatically, there was also a large increase in cloud cover, so it should be possible to detect the impact of cosmic rays on climate at a higher sensitivity.
Since we're in the middle of another pole reversal that started in 1974, the Universal Year Of Inflection For Every Fucking Thing, it shouldn't be surprising that we're seeing similar effects now.

  Toldja so!

I had an immediate gut feeling that the new leader of Spain was returning the country to Satan after Rajoy had been quietly anti-Satan.

VERIFIED.
Soros reportedly met Sánchez on the 27th June at the Palace of Moncola, the Prime Minister’s official residence, however no record of the alleged meeting was put on the Prime Minister’s public agenda nor was it announced to the media. Spanish media claim the Minister of Foreign Affairs and former President of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell Fontelles, was also present at the ‘behind closed-doors’ meeting. The meeting lasted “about an hour and a half” and it is said the group discussed “their economic and future views.”
Toldja so. (I probably shouldn't gloat... I've been wrong about these things more often than right. Fuck it. This time I was right, so I'll gloat.)

While I'm on the subject, it's time to flip Ecuador to Satan's side on the Sorosia map. (Already flipped Spain.)

  Fucking asked and fucking answered

At the top of the world, Randians are cheering:

Why the decrease?

Answered by the bottom of the world:

See? Even the homeless have fine cloth napkins. No problem.

= = = = =

The Randians might ask next: Well, why don't those homeless folks just get up off their asses and buy a house?

Zillow answers this one. The green X is where these folks are.

  What would Roosevelt do?

As always, the real question is not what WOULD but what DID. FDR faced the same problems we face now, and he handled them correctly. We do the opposite every fucking time.

Someone in the Trump admin pretended to do the right thing for a moment:
Last year, Energy Secretary Rick Perry proposed a plan for subsidizing coal and nuclear plants for providing base load generation—that is, round-the-clock power, but the plan was rejected by the utility regulators who said they will study the national grid’s resilience to supply interruptions. Many grid operators said they are already factoring in everything that has to do with their grid’s resilience to disruptions.

Meanwhile, coal and nuclear plants are shutting down as they can no longer compete with cheap natural gas and can barely compete with subsidized renewables. Two months ago, utility FirstEnergy approached the Department of Energy directly with a request for what would have been a bailout package for its coal and nuclear subsidiaries, but just days after this, the parent announced the bankruptcy of the two units.
FDR faced two similar problems.

First, farmers were failing because of disorganized unregulated competition. His admin recognized (1) farmers are a crucial BASELOAD for the entire economy, (2) farming isn't an occupation you can jump into and hope to succeed. FDR subsidized good farmers and discouraged upstarts.

Second, industry and commerce were unable to expand because of patchy electricity and water utilities. FDR built dams and power plants and water systems to enable further growth.

Above all, FDR didn't let entrenched bureaucrats conspire with bankers to stop his efforts. He fired bureaucrats and closed banks.

= = = = =

Coal and nuclear are parallel to farms, but the parallel isn't really necessary. A nuke plant relies on a long trail of experience and engineering, and runs steadily with very little input. Nuke plants here in USA STRONG can no longer be built AT ALL because the government has ALLOWED envirodemons and lawyerdemons to block construction forever. In sane countries a nuke plant only takes about two years to build, as Russia is profitably proving in MANY sane countries.

Natural gas is much easier to build, mainly because the regulators have decided to ALLOW it. A gas plant needs constant input via pipelines or tankers, which are much more susceptible to interruption and price variation.

"Renewables" are a fraud. Nothing more, nothing less. As always, our dysgovernment SUBSIDIZES CRIME and SLAUGHTERS honest useful industries.

  Bigger question

Article in Nature hopes that peace and unification will open more avenues for research in the North.

Probably so, and probably a good thing.

Better question: Why don't we see any articles hoping for more BUSINESS with North Korea? Business and industry are the key to a decent life for ordinary people. The South has been working along this line forever, constantly trying to open cross-border business using Northern labor. The effort has been tricky because the regime in the North has always been 'notional', sometimes slightly opening the door and then slamming it shut for no apparent reason.

Now ask the same question about other 'forbidden' countries. USA STRONG corporations are NOT seeking to do business with any of those countries. We used to have tremendous links with Cuba and important ties with Persia. Corporations are happy to leave those countries closed.

And the same question about our wars. Are any of our wars designed to gain more resources or more customers or more employees? NO. Our wars do the EXACT OPPOSITE. Our wars DESTROY all resources and businesses in the countries we attack, and this COMMERCIAL destruction is the MAIN PURPOSE.

The Left constantly and stupidly gets this point exactly backwards. No blood for oil??? We never shed blood to get oil. We shed blood to HALT oil production, which is exactly what the Left claims to want. "Global warming" and all that shit.

USA STRONG corporations are debtist, not capitalist. Everything we do is explicitly designed to END COMMERCE. Kill production, kill employees, kill profits. Our wars, like our corporate activities, are LBOs.

Why are so many countries gravitating toward Russia and China? Because Russia and China are real capitalists. Their businesses want more products, more profits, more employees. They make deals to get resources, and then help the poor country to develop its resource using its own people. And that's exactly what poor countries in Africa and Asia NEED. More people working and making money. More supply-chain expansion for the main factories, more groceries and barbers and housing construction for the people employed in the main factories.

Is this offshoring? Yes. But it's not the same as modern USA offshoring. When offshoring ADDS capacity without destroying jobs in the home country (as we mostly did before 1975) it's a good thing for both countries. When offshoring MOVES the jobs away from the home country, it's bad for the home country.

  Where are the Carverites?

Recently I've written some items along this theme:

= = = = START REPRINT:

"Scientists" jail you for questioning "science".

Astrologers don't jail you for questioning astrology.

MDs force you to follow orders by withholding life-sustaining prescriptions. (In any other context this would be called extortion.)

Alternative healers don't force you to do anything.

Social "scientists" design and operate torture chambers.

Psychics and faith healers don't.

Non-smokers jail you for smoking in the wrong place, which is pretty much every place.

Smokers don't jail you for not smoking.

= = = = END REPRINT.

You can hear the difference clearly among the various commentators on stocks and money. The "strictly scientific" types, who consider themselves to be rational realists, are ALL IN for BUY BITCOIN BUY AMZN BUY TSLA BUY AMZN BUY TSLA. The astrologers, who listen to the stars instead of the TV, are loudly and powerfully condemning the bitcoin bubble for exactly the right reasons.

"Science" is just another fashion, just another bubble, just another evil racket. "Scientists" are racketeers or at best the unknowing shills for vile nasty bigots and criminals.

Astrologers and "non-traditional" types are rational and skeptical.

Granted, there have been plenty of hucksters among the astrologers and visionaries.

Right now the simple observers, the true scientists, are found on the astrology side of the fence.

Right now the witch hunters and universe-exterminating genocidal hypermaniacs are found on the other side of the fence.

  Painting or

Let's return to more familiar territory for another comparison. I've been sort of uncomfortable using St Joe for these equations because I don't know the place. I visited there several times, found it deeply fascinating, but never lived there.

This comparison is based on personal experience, and works out BEAUTIFULLY as an equation.

= = = = =

Some rich fuckhead spent $450 million for a painting.

How much of Ponca could you buy for $450 million?

All.

Or pretty damn near all. I've shown the part west of 14th St, which is the older part built before 1955. After '55, the newer suburbs clustered around the Marland Mansion east of 14th.

Census data shows 12k households in Ponca. The older part would be just about 10k households, and their median value looks like $45k. Values east of 14th are sharply higher.

45k value * 10k houses = 450 million total. Neat.

Bonus: The painting comparison is especially poignant. EW Marland, who sacrificed part of his own wealth to cultivate the city, had a huge collection of paintings in his mansion. After JP Morgan bought him out, he lost gumption and frittered away his investments. He died nearly broke. His younger wife Lydie was loyal to the manor and the name. For a while after EW died, she wandered the country living on the kindness of strangers, frequently pawning and redeeming the one painting she had kept. Late in life she returned home, and the Roman convent that owned the mansion allowed her to live out her last years in the gatehouse.

In Poncan myth, Lydie's pawned painting was the distilled soul of the noble lord.

Now a rich idiot casually buys one random painting for the same price as Ponca.

  Four fucking obviouses

News item:

Kalashnikov is going into the shipbuilding and shipping business. Makes a good headline, 'Guns to plowshares'. The important point is that Russia's grain exports are increasing beyond the capacity of existing barges and shipping companies. Kalashnikov, which knows how to build metal stuff, sees an opportunity.

Well, how does this compare with Glorious Home Of Diligent Capitalism, USA STRONG?

= = = = =

First fucking obvious question: Are we increasing our exports?

First fucking obvious answer: No. Our exports have been constant for 40 years. We're increasing production for domestic use.

= = = = =

Second fucking obvious question: How much of that increase is corn?

Second fucking obvious answer: All.

= = = = =

Third fucking obvious question: How much of the corn is ethanol?

Third fucking obvious answer: All.

= = = = =

Fourth fucking obvious question: Why are we falling behind Russia?

Fourth fucking obvious answer: All. Every fucking thing we do is infinitely evil and infinitely destructive and infinitely criminal.

  Speaking of liars and monopolies

Speaking of Trump the liar:

He loves to talk trash about the satanic demonic media.

What has he DONE about it?

This.
Federal regulators rolled back a series of decades-old regulations Thursday in a move that will make it far easier for media outlets to be bought and sold — potentially leading to more television broadcasters, newspapers and radio stations being owned by a small handful of companies.
Nice free gift for Satan.

Liar.
