Many people who work in tech aren’t required to complete a philosophy or ethics course in school’, said Quinn, which he believes contributes to blind spots in the development of technology. Those blind spots may have lead to breaches of public trust…”

  Nothing 'dark' about these dudes
UncommonDescent pointed to a set of brief conversations among the 'Intellectual Dark Web', a group of thinkers who are allegedly anti-Establishment.

After listening to a few of them, my earlier vague suspicion is solidly verified. There's nothing remotely countercultural about this group. They're standard neocons, proudly labeled as such. Their view of God is purely modern.

Bret Weinstein, famously fired for alleged heterodoxy, is perfectly orthodox.

"We need to take evolution out of the driver's seat and replace it with our own ethical framework."

"The deity is a hack, a hack that functions" for the benefit of society.

Sheer hippie nonsense. Good behavior, behavior that helps the entire hive function, is written into our genes. Call it evolution or call it design, it's IN THE GENES. The authorities have often channeled and distorted this set of standards for their own evil purposes (such as bombing every country that displeases Israel) but the standards themselves are NOT a myth.

Darwin said it clearly. Selection prefers behaviors that keep the WHOLE POPULATION alive and strong, not NYC behaviors that enrich ONE INDIVIDUAL while destroying the population. Keeping the WHOLE POPULATION alive requires altruism and empathy, which is why we HAVE those capacities. If only humans had those capacities, maybe you could hypothesize that we made them up, but they appear in every social animal and plant, and they're a lot stronger in most non-human social animals.

As I repeat tiresomely, we have the logbook of God's experiments in the form of old wisdom and old testaments. The people who survived wrote down their recipe for survival. They told us what to eat and how to behave.

Every attempt to create our own ethical framework has led to GENOCIDE AND DISASTER.

Weinstein is such a perfect snowflake that I wonder if the usual story is right. Did the college really fire him for disagreeing with their views? Back in the '60s unpopular or insubordinate profs were often fired for "communism", which was easier to define than unpopularity.

The journal bizarrely called 'Nature' has been publishing some oblique articles about trust and facts in science. The science racket doesn't want to be moral or trustworthy, but feels that it needs to make these noises for PR purposes.

O'Keefe follows up the Gennai expose with some emails leaked by another Googler. The emails were proposing that "nazis" like Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager should be removed from the Suggested For You list.

First, the proposal wasn't carried out. When I watch populists like Farage and LePen, Youtube tries to steer me toward Shapiro and Prager.

Via Eurekalert, public health authorities are worried about insufficient blood donations from "communities of colour". The article proposes a huge pile of possible reasons and possible solutions, but never gets CLOSE to the obvious answer.

PAY.

When you PAY people for hard labor, they're VASTLY more likely to do it.

This applies even more strongly to organ donation. For some ABSOLUTELY NONSENSICAL AND UTTERLY TURBOCRAZY DYSREASON, we have decided that paying people for a HUGE piece of pain and suffering is "unethical".

What could break this nonsense? One possible scenario would at least provide a brief moment of difficulty for the tyrants.

A man who "identifies as womxn" gets prostate cancer. Womxns don't have prostate glands, so the doctor couldn't possibly diagnose or treat a nonexistent disorder in a nonexistent organ.

The doctor would have to choose between "deadmanning" the patient or "deading" the patient. A rational doctor would instantly pick the latter, because all of the "laws" and "ethics" boards would be on his side. If he chose to "deadman" the patient and treat the nonexistent disease in the nonexistent organ, he'd spend the rest of his life in jail.

Wansink, the 'food behaviorist', has been purged for misusing statistics. From the headlines I thought he was just another "social" "scientist" who probably deserved to be retracted. The headlines were deceptive. A deeper article by Inquisitor Hamblin shows the reality.

Wansink describes himself as a “pracademic,” an academic aimed at practical problems and workable solutions, and “a professor whose mission is to help transform people’s lives by finding the small changes that make the big difference.”

Exactly right. That's what science SHOULD be doing.

The Inquisitor demanded recantation:

I asked Wansink about his insight from the ordeal, and how the system and future aspiring and young scientists could learn from his mistakes. He wrote that he still believes being “a scholar and an academic is an unbelievably great calling. It is totally enriching, and don’t let these events dissuade you from a great career.” He is insistent that existing policies based on his work are sound since, he argues, his fundamental conclusions were correct and will be proven so: “We made a number of mistakes, but they didn’t change the basic conclusions (even if they might have been retracted).”

Wansink refused to recant.

While Wansink is generally contrite and apologetic, it’s still not clear if he has internalized that ethos. “You can do research for other academics, or you can do research to solve problems,” he wrote to me. “Doing it for academics is more prestigious, but doing it to solve real problems in the real world is more gratifying—enriching, as I said. Having people say, ‘I do something differently because of your research, and it works’ takes away the sting of someone pointing out the degrees of freedom in an F-test were wrong.”

What should we do differently?

The question is how to disconnect scientific work from the buzz cycle—to let people conduct experiments to answer questions in an environment as free as possible of any incentive that would bias that process. In his "mind" the sole purpose of science is to RUIN MINDS AND EXTERMINATE PEOPLE.

Wansink served REAL SCIENCE by persuading people to eat less, and by showing that INTUITIVELY REASONABLE methods help us to eat less. The headlines said that an "evidence-based medicine" group had kicked out one of its leaders for failing to be "evidence-based". Okay, sounds like a good move.

Again the details are opposite.

The expulsion of Peter Gøtzsche sparked accusations that the Collaboration is too friendly toward the drug industry. Four other members of the organization’s governing board resigned in response, citing concerns that the action “goes against Cochrane ethos.”

The vote appears to have been 6 of 13 in favor of the move, according to statements from the board members who resigned and Gøtzsche — short of a majority but enough to pass because only 11 voted.

What was Gøtzsche's crime against the "ethos" of science?

Gøtzsche, the director of the Nordic Cochrane Center, in Copenhagen, Denmark, has cast doubts about the safety of a vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV), a cause of cervical cancer, and says psychiatry has “gone astray” by coercing patients into taking medication, such as antidepressants, they don’t want to use and that cause “brain damage” over the long run. “The way these drugs are used today cause[s] more harm than good. So it would be better for us if the drugs didn’t exist.”

On the vaccine, he wasn't anti-vax, he was simply questioning whether one particular vaccine had been tested properly.

His critique of psychiatry is PRECISELY CORRECT and INFINITELY NECESSARY.

Dr. Geoff Stiller, a board certified surgeon who has staff privileges at Pullman Regional Hospital, is advancing his surgical training to include gender reassignment surgeries and the hospital is accepting public comment from June 12 to July 3, 2017.

As part of the process, the hospital says Dr. Stiller will be performing the procedures at Pullman Regional Hospital under the personal instruction and supervision of a preceptor. Other steps will also be completed before a decision on adding gender reassignment surgery to the services offered by Pullman Regional Hospital.

"Two key steps are completing the medical staff privileging process and receiving public comment regarding performing gender reassignment surgery," the hospital said in a statement.

Why bother with public comment? You won't listen. You're going to do it anyway. Just do it. Remember the Boaty McBoatface thing, and previous similar cases. Faking public input is MUCH WORSE than just doing what you're going to do.

If "ethics" actually meant ethics, the proper ethical decision would be simple. Treat trans nonsense EXACTLY THE SAME as any other form of elective surgery.

An adult making the decision without duress should be permitted unless there's a medical reason to avoid surgery. No different from a facelift or a tummy-tuck.

A parent who wants to have this form of surgery done on her child should be charged with child abuse. If a parent wanted to remove the child's (medically normal) legs for esthetic or emotional reasons, you'd haul the parent into court instantly. This is EXACTLY THE SAME.

During his presidential campaign, Trump had promised Catholics relief from the HHS mandate, which requires employers to offer health insurance plans covering contraception, sterilization and some early abortion drugs. In a letter to the Catholic Leadership Conference last October, he pointed to his opponent Hillary Clinton’s support for the mandate, and said “that is a hostility to religious liberty you will never see in a Trump administration.”

After Trump’s election, the plaintiffs challenging the mandate widely expected that the new administration would drop the government’s appeal of the lawsuits, which federal circuit courts may re-examine in the coming months.

Instead of dropping the cases, however, the administration indicated that it intends to take the next step in the litigation process. On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that the Justice Department had asked a federal appeals court for 60 extra days to negotiate an agreement with East Texas Baptist University and several other plaintiffs challenging the mandate. The Supreme Court last year had instructed the Obama administration to negotiate with the plaintiffs as the next step in the litigation process.

  Why not crowdfund?
Soros is busy in Europe trying to discredit and destroy anti-Soros politicians, using the same trick that Democrats use here. "Ethics" complaints, also known as blackmail.

Fillon had hired some relatives, which is OK for leftists but not for non-leftists.

Now LePen is being accused of "misusing" EU money because she disagreed with Soros. LePen has been a member of the EU parliament for 12 years. During those years her clerical staff was paid by EU, as is normal for parliamentary staff. As long as LePen was not actively fighting EU, the payment was OK. Since she started speaking the truth, the payment is no longer OK.

MEPs are NOT allowed to represent their people. They are required to represent Soros. Soros is the universe and the universe is Soros. All non-Soros substance must be EXTERMINATED so that the universe can be pure Soros.

LePen says that she doesn't have the $300k extortion demand, and is trying to fight by "legal" means. Won't work, because the "legal" system is also owned by Soros.

Why doesn't LePen simply crowdfund the $300k? It's not hard to raise that sum in one day for a popular cause. A British lawyer who is fighting in the other direction (against Brexit) raised $70k in one day.

  Who's got law?
Turkey is negotiating with EU about the two million refugees from Soros wars that Turkey has been housing and feeding and educating for several years. Turkey wants more money and help, and threatens to let EU have more of the refugees if no help.

Needless to say, EU doesn't want to pay Turkey anything because Turkey is anti-Soros. Only Tribe or Tribe supporters can be paid. Deplorables cannot be paid. Deplorables can only be slaughtered.

2. The legal system SHOULD NOT prosecute normal people for behaving normally and decently.

Forgot to retune radio, ended up listening to Dennis Prager for a while. I try to avoid both the standard Repoofs and the standard Commies; both are globalist. Prager is discussing culture vs politics with Ben Shapiro. Nice calm discussion with some good points.

Prager made a point that seems paradoxical: The hippieshit generation grew up with "clean" and "moral" television like Father Knows Best as our main cultural influence, yet we turned radical. Where did the radical come from? Prager said it came from school.

Hell no. It came from TV. Father Knows Best was NOT typical of 1950s TV. There was an inflection point in 1956, trailing behind the Roy Cohn Coup in 1954. After Cohn and his fag boyfriend Welch conspired to ruin secret fag McCarthy, everything changed in TV. The globalist commie writers who had been unemployed or cautious came roaring back with a PURE VENGEANCE. After 1956 TV looked the same, but all plotlines were explicitly designed to rip apart Natural Law culture. COMPLEX MORAL CONUNDRUMS formed the core of every story, intended to create cognitive dissonance. All permanent certainties were pulverized.

Plain numerical fact: TV was rare before 1954. Most TV stations went on the air between '54 and '56, and most households got a TV in those years. The pre-Cohn version of TV reached only about 20% of America. So when you say "1950's TV" you're practically speaking about post-56 TV, in other words post-Cohn TV.

The visual aspect of TV changed several years after the plotlines. Before 1959 the people in movies and TV looked like actual Americans. In post-59 US/UK/EU movies, females disappeared except for a few "boy-like" mixed-gender entities. Movies and TV were chiefly about males relating intimately with males, which agreed precisely with Roy Cohn's reality. Foreign movies outside US/UK/EU (Egypt, Turkey, Greece, India) continued to reflect normal life. Women were an equal part of life, and women in movies looked like real-life women.

BBC on Assange:

Ecuador has acknowledged it partly restricted internet access for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is taking refuge at its London embassy. It said Mr Assange had in recent weeks released material that could have an impact on the US presidential election.

Ecuador also said its move was not the result of pressure from Washington. The US denied WikiLeaks accusations that it had asked Ecuador to stop the site publishing documents about presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

MATERIAL THAT COULD HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE ELECTION used to be called "news". In the standard delusional myth of the West, "democracy" requires "informed citizens" who acquire information before "voting" in an "election".

It's nice to see BBC abandoning this myth entirely. They are now officially admitting that "news" is illegal and "elections" do not exist.

Deutsche Welle, which normally matches BBC's satanism, comes up slightly short this time, allowing something resembling a fact to leak through:

The Obama administration has embarked on an anti-whistleblower campaign. In summer, Chelsea[sic] Manning attempted suicide in the prison where she[sic] is serving a 35-year sentence for revealing a US helicopter attack on civilians in Iraq. Former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden fled to Russia after he exposed the extent of US spying on the electronic communications of people around the world.

DW is making oblique reference to the potential conceivable theoretical possibility that Obama may not be God. I'm sure they will be punished.
