Ack! Why didn't I complete this chain of reasoning before?

Vreeland:

Lately I've been studying and animating some old devices that followed the liquid soft analog path instead of the dry hard digital path. The dry path didn't win a decisive victory until around 1960.

Wet electronics came before dry. The first telegraphs used potential difference from wet batteries to form visible streams of electrolysis bubbles, one wire for each letter.

Electrolysis is messy, so it receded quickly from everyday use into lab use.

Ayrton:

I'd never thought about why it was better to build a voltmeter by placing a known resistance in series with an ammeter. Ayrton shows why. Pure voltameters were clumsy and dangerous. Galvanometers were much easier to handle and less messy.

Sidenote: Nature disagrees. As I've often noted, Nature strongly prefers using static fields for both meters and motors. Human technology strongly prefers using magnetic fields for meters and motors.

What's the missed connection? Nature is wet and chemical, so Nature prefers electrostatic fields and ionic currents (moving charged molecules around). Human tech moved away from wet stuff, so human tech prefers magnetic fields and electron currents. Wet = static, Dry = magnetic.

If we had continued favoring wet tech, we would have been more resonant with Nature, and we wouldn't have LOST some of the understanding and therapy methods that we were developing before 1906.

A couple of recent "rediscoveries" are good examples.

Electricity could speed wound healing. The electrotherapists in the 1880s knew this and used it.

Researchers are looking into the role of ionic currents in consciousness. Ionic currents are wet.

  Hi-tech solutions
The ZIP code, when written out fully with all 13 digits, contains all the info necessary for one specific house or apt or office. I've wondered why the PO still requires name and address and city along with the ZIP. What would happen if you sent mail with only the 13-digit ZIP? For the first time I've seen a test of this question.

I ordered printer ink from LD Products as usual. The package arrived early this morning while I was out on my morning walk.



The labels from LD have lots of numbers and QR squares and UPC lines, but absolutely no name or address or city. The 9-digit ZIP appears once in readable form, but it's the ZIP for the branch post office, not the 9-digit for my block or the 13-digit for my house. Presumably the info is in the QR.

Somebody at the branch office wrote my address on a PostIt note and tacked it to the package!

So that's how they do it. High tech!

  Psychopath + Parkinson = Prank
Last year I belatedly figured out one of Deepstate's tricks. I should have caught this one much earlier because it's classic Parkinson and classic Psychopath all at once.

The Daleiden case is what finally opened my eyes. Deepstate doesn't like to kill dissidents; it prefers to keep them embroiled in "legal" convolutions forever. Blackrobes will grant temporary injunctions or fake "victories" with no meaning, and the defense attorneys use this to gather more funds for more futile "fights".

An excellent example in the current fake panic was the Illinois legislator who sued to halt the lockdown and got an injunction FOR HIMSELF ONLY. This is utterly meaningless.

It's just a prank, a psychopath's Gotcha. Like a cat pretending to lick its paw so the mouse comes out of the hole.

The radio Gun Talk shows yesterday were discussing another prank. Blackrobes gave Calif gun dealers a temporary injunction allowing them to sell ammunition, knowing good and goddamn well that Thrill Killer Newsom had a countersuit in the pipeline which would "necessarily" cancel the order one day later. The same thing happened on a different case, allowing a whole week of fake freedom.

The Parkinson aspect comes from the defense attorneys. They know how the system works, and they know that the defendant will always lose, or at best gain a prank. The pranks give them a "reason" to keep "fighting" and keep profiting. See? We're winning! We just need more money so we can win more effectively!

Benefit of clergy.

Sudden question: WHY did they exempt clergy from punishment? It's a peculiar ancient custom, impossible for secular moderns to understand.

Sudden answer: It wasn't because the clergy could read. That was just the marker. The benefit was provided because the clergy heard confession.

Priests knew everyone's secrets. They could reveal everyone's secrets if they were threatened with any loss of privilege.

Sudden insight: That's why our Web Lords are also exempt, why the SEC and FTC and DOJ and FCC can't touch them.

Zuck knows all of our secrets because he built the confessional and requires us to attend daily. We can't receive full sacraments unless we use Devices that confess all to Zuck.

Elon knows the secrets of his cultists because his rosaries on wheels are constantly reporting location and driver behavior as part of the "machine learning" for the heaven of FSD, which will not arrive until the Second Coding when Lord Elon resurrects as the Holy Emperor Of The Terraformed And Gloriously Carbon-Free Mars Kingdom.

Bezos knows the secrets of his customers, Kalanick knows the secrets of his riders, and so on.

Not so strange after all.

  Disappointing
In the '70s when cable TV started to develop, I didn't own a TV. Cable was found mainly in motels, so I enjoyed watching the wide variety of programs when I stayed in a motel.

Cable systems had a channel for weather and special messages. Most of the time the weather was a back and forth scan of a few meters showing temperature, humidity, pressure, etc. Special messages were title slides for ads or emergencies. The audio on this channel was often from a classical music station, so it was good bedtime watching.

I always imagined the weather scan as a room-sized semicircle, about 10 feet in diameter, with a floor-mounted camera rotating in the middle of the room. Sort of like a theatrical set with flats.

Now I finally find out how it really worked!

  Just figured it out
Going through some old web bookmarks, trying to find a half-remembered source, I bumped into New Samizdat, one of RT's propaganda branches. Looking at it again, I remembered why I had tried it once then abandoned it. New Samizdat is PURE SOROS.

RT and Sputnik are mostly Soros with occasional recognition of the value of populism. New Samizdat is 100% IDENTICAL to all US media. It's the exact opposite of real Samizdat.

I've been puzzled by this for a long time. I'd figured out half of the answer. Finally got the whole answer.

What is the purpose of Soros and Bezos and Zuckerberg? Their purpose is to DESTROY WESTERN CIVILIZATION. Obliterate religion, science, facts, logic, truth, love, and life. Nothing remains in the universe but the Emperor.

What is the purpose of external propaganda? To WEAKEN THE ENEMY.

Russia has ALWAYS recognized this basic fact, because Russians are REALISTIC. Russians have never suffered from weird delusions about "democracy" and "human rights". Stalin used the same "leftist" activists who were also serving our Deepstate, because Stalin and Deepstate had the same concrete goal.

New thought: Stalin and Deepstate had different REASONS for the goal, different ulterior motives.

Stalin understood that a strong USA, allied with a strong Germany, will always attack Russia. He wanted to keep us weak to protect Russia from our natural aggressive imperial mass-murdering psychosis.

Deepstate wants to obliterate civilization because Deepstate is sadistic. Deepstate jacks off to holocausts. Torturing Christians and Muslims is the ultimate orgasm for Deepstate.

  Two misplaced classics
(1) Nice warm weather. The ice cream truck has been working hard, and I can tell by the frequent stops in the music that he's getting plenty of business. Most of the time this truck plays La Cucaracha, which is appropriate in a state with legal pot. Today, unless I'm hearing it wrong, his music system is playing the 'good part' of Schubert's Trout Quintet! Way above the usual level of ice cream music, and an unlikely food association.

(2) I've added another syndicated radio serial to my bedtime playlist. Air Mail Mystery is low-quality crap even by the standards of serials. Disjointed plot, inappropriate emotions, sudden shifts of dialect, characters popping up and seeming important then disappearing with no explanation. The music redeems it. Like most serials, AMM has a long stretch of quiet music at the start to allow local announcers to slip in spots or program teasers. The quiet music includes several disjointed themes, one of which is purely heavenly. It sounds a bit like the incidental music in Gluck's Orfeo, but it's not familiar. I think it was written for the show.

Later: It's remarkably close to parts of Brahms's 3rd. Not exactly the same melodies, but the orchestration is the same.

Much later: A stronger influence is Borodin's Steppes of Central Asia, somewhat customized. All the bits are there, in a slightly different order.

Cancel the above stupid guesses. It's the Zampa Overture with no modifications at all. I don't know why it took me so long to figure this out. The Zampa used to be one of my favorites in the '70s when I had a record collection. Getting old!

Maybe it was hard to spot because the theme doesn't start at the start. Instead, the show begins with the roar of an airplane motor, then the motor becomes the bass part of this section of the overture, with alternating bass rumbles and horn blasts. Clever.
