Great Smith: the factory
Continuing with the
Great Smith project...
Here's the original artist's conception of the Smith factory in Topeka:
And here's my version:
Based on verbal descriptions and partial photos, I think the original drawing was
somewhat overblown but not pure fantasy. We don't have complete photos of the real factory, so I'm going with the conception.
Later, added a terrain and a train. Now the view agrees fully with the original, and shows the 'loop' and tracks and creek in their real-life positions.

Links so far:
Noticed the item at KSHS, started studying.
Finished the touring car.
Finished the truck.
Sidebar on the truck's real use.
Sidebar on acetylene.
Finished the factory.
Added runabout.
And finally the released product at ShareCG.
This was a quick project. 16 days from conception to completion. Nowhere near as much detail as the Box Depots or Semaphores, but pretty decent authenticity.
