Partial parallel
Convective thought...
Tesla's competitors make better cars because they're NOT exempt from regulation.
Elon's Mossad connections give him immunity from all criticism and regulation, so he's free to make dangerous cars and wild unfulfillable promises. He's free to commit fraud in the realm of stocks and accounting.
This is a
partial parallel to Detroit vs Toyota in the '70s. Detroit had lobbyists in DC who could frontrun and shape the regulations. Toyota didn't have connections, so it had to MAKE EXCELLENT CARS that satisfied the regulations without cheating.
The parallel is only partial because Detroit wasn't TOTALLY exempt. Detroit didn't have Mossad on their side.
Most of the Tesla skeptics are Libertarians who can't bring themselves to see that capitalism ONLY WORKS WHEN CAREFULLY REGULATED. They celebrate the joys of total monopoly and ZERO TAX while simultaneously bashing the inevitable results of total monopoly and ZERO TAX. I suppose some of them will eventually notice the contradiction, but so far they haven't.
