Since I'm focused on online ads this week for some reason....
Here's an ad that is distinctly INAPPROPRIATE and self-extinguishing.
When I hit RealClearScience just now, I got a big banner for
Integral Ad Sciences. This outfit wants to help me advertise to "carefully selected" audiences, keeping my ads away from contamination by "hate speech".
Whether it’s adult content, alcohol, gambling, hate speech, illegal downloads, illegal drugs, offensive language, or violence, we’ll work closely with you to set brand safety thresholds for each campaign, and save you from wasted impressions.
BUT: By all the usual standards, I'm "hate speech". Solidly populist and anti-Soros and anti-Deepstate, ferocious "climate change" "denier", supporter of FACTUAL science in every way, pro-Muslim, pro-Natural Law, and hardass RUSSIAN_BOT.
A nearly perfect score.
What would the "selected audiences" think of their selection system being offered to a DENIER_BOT? Isn't that the exact definition of brand contamination? What does it say about the efficiency of this company's algorithms?
