One word
Archives and libraries of past UNTHINK are normally wiped out in tyrannies. Only one source of information and entertainment is possible. Direct wire.
At the moment there's no active effort to eliminate past UNTHINK, but the direct wire (Cloud, iTunes) is already in place. And the new version is superior to the old because you don't even know it's there and you can't turn it off.
Some websites dealing with tech history have already self-censored to comply with 'Best Practices' in Memory Hole engineering.
Self-censorship is never enough. Memory Hole must be optimized. Soon.
One word, young man. PAPER. Tyrannies can raid homes and burn books, but it's a lot more work and expense.
