Another step
Polistra has been keeping track of the Soviet switchover, which started with Agent Bush The Father in 1989. It's a gradual process, clicking into various concepts and institutions at different times.
Benchmark: The word Democracy has now switched completely. Under Stalin and Khrushchev, Democracy (as in Peoples Democratic Republic) universally denoted a hard-line dictatorship with zero consent from its people. The West didn't use the word nearly as often, because we realized that it had been claimed and turned.
During the transition period, Soviet-bloc countries stopped using Democracy and our Neocons started using it to denote places we've bombed into permanent chaos and ruin after they Insulted Our Prophet Binyamin Netanyahu[pbuh].
Now we have this headline: Containing Putin, Democracy's Enemy.
Just ask which leader rules WITH THE CONSENT OF HIS PEOPLE. Which leader has consistent 80 to 90% approval ratings? Which rulers have consistent 30 to 40% approval?
Putin, who rules WITH CONSENT, is now described as Democracy's Enemy. Obama/Cameron/Merkel, who rule WITHOUT CONSENT, are now described as the Paragons Of Democracy.
