Unfair to left-footed bicyclists! Strike! Strike!
Seattle's unspeakably Gaian and Gayan "city" "government"
has installed the weirdest traffic-aid device imaginable. It's a LEANING RAIL to accommodate cyclists at a stoplight.
Video here.
I used to be a fairly serious cyclist, and I can see one huge problem with this idiocy. It's on the right side, and it has a footrail so you won't have to sully your thousand-dollar shoes by touching the same pavement that some horrible Christian or Repooflican KOCH KOCH KOCH KOCH KOCH might have touched once or twice. (Though that's unlikely anyway in Seattle.)
The footrail would have screwed up my biking. I always dropped my left foot to the ground and leaned leftward when stopped. If I went along with the implied rule and pulled my right foot out of the strap to lean the proper way, I would have jumbled up my muscle memory and probably crashed.
