More hope! Art Robinson wins!
Art Robinson has firmly won the Republican primary to run against DeFazio in Oregon!"Republican voters of Oregon District 4 have chosen Dr. Art Robinson to represent them in the November 2010 Congressional race against Democrat Peter DeFazio. With 70% of votes counted as of 8:54 pm, Art currently has 80% of the total."
It sounds like Robinson will be emphasizing education in his campaign, which makes sense: his family-run business publishes books and curricula for home-schoolers.
Equally important, Robinson is a pioneer and hero of real science, one of the earliest and steadiest opponents of the Carbon Cult.
= = = = =
Later: I'm genuinely puzzled by the complete lack of media attention to this win. Robinson is an interesting guy, a real outsider to politics, and somewhat aligned with Ron Paul. He soundly trounced a more ordinary Republican who was supported by the Tea Party. Those factors should make him worthy of notice, or so you'd think.
Only one national news website mentions him briefly. Among blogs,
WUWT has a good write-up this morning.
Art Robinson runs for Congress
Art Robinson was among the first
real scientists to fight the Global Warming Cult. He's been toiling in this field for more than 20 years, along with running an independent biochem lab dealing with human aging and metabolism.
Now that the force of truth against the Carbon Cult has finally taken on a life of its own, Robinson has decided to run for Congress against Peter DeFazio in his home area of Oregon.
Here's his initial statement:The citizens of Oregon District 4 are today in danger of being without incomes, without jobs, without homes, and without the freedom, prosperity, and way of life that America has previously provided.
The federal government is nearing bankruptcy and the Oregon government is scrambling to survive, while citizens see their savings dwindle, their home prices plunge, their budgets contract, and their employers endangered.
Why have these problems come upon us? Why are we unable to produce 100% of our energy instead of buying 30% from unstable foreign sources? Why have our industries moved abroad? Why are our brave young soldiers quartered in more than 100 foreign countries and constantly involved in foreign wars? Why are our industries, including our health care system, in danger of government takeover?
The answer is in Washington, where the federal government has abandoned Constitutional principles and gradually imposed crushing taxation, overwhelming bureaucratic regulation and control, and vast government-sponsored litigation upon the once free American people - burdens so great that their hard work and ingenuity can no longer provide the economic freedom and prosperity they once enjoyed.
These burdens must be rolled back. The career politicians in Washington, including the Deomcrate from District 4 who has helped to impose those burdens, should be replaced. Art Robinson is a respected scientist, educator, businessman, and 30-year resident of Oregon with the knowledge and ability to protect and restore our freedoms.
His ideology is closer to Ron Paul libertarians than I'd like, but the Paul approach seems to be popular now with college-age folks, who can energize a campaign. I've been following and supporting Robinson's efforts for quite a while and I'd love to see him become the sole spokesman for honest science in the House, just as Inhofe is in the Senate.
(It would be even better to have
more than one honest man in each house, but that's waaaaaaaaaaaay too much to expect. The saving grace: Truth has a miraculous way of infecting a place from just one carrier. With no carriers at all, Truth has no chance at all.)
Thanks to Robinson
Sort of following on
previous item.
I need to
partly thank Art Robinson for my resistance to this particular circuit breaker.
The idea of hormesis is old and well-established. It's been familiar for thousands of years, and it's been scientifically precise since Jenner and Pasteur. Along with all scientifically literate folks, I always understood the idea. Robinson acted as a vaccine, helping to boost my knowledge.
In the early '90s Robinson helped me to understand the "Global Warming" fraud. I had been agnostic, probably closer to the Green side. When I closely examined a long-term diagram of CO2 versus temperature and realized it was INTENTIONALLY REVERSED, I started looking around for other sources and found Robinson's newsletter. He filled in the gaps on that subject.
Art Robinson's main lifetime focus was hormesis in all its aspects. He constantly pushed against the culture of inanimate objects, constantly experimented with hormesis in radiation and microbes, constantly reminded us that life IS adaptation.
All globalist fetishes start from the assumption that humans are inanimate mechanisms incapable of adaptation. Globalists are OCD. Every tiny change in every variable must be ruthlessly reduced to perfect constancy, perfect zero. Humans must never be allowed to adapt, never allowed to exert negative feedback or error correction. All aspects of life must be obliterated, reducing the universe to a perfect void with no actions, no boundaries, no objects, no nothing.
Globalists see every change as an exponential. Some exponentials are good. Exponentially rising Dow and Debt are good for The Tribe, so they must be maintained to infinity. Most exponentials are bad. Population, temperature, epidemics, all look threateningly exponential when you don't know what LIFE is. In fact LIFE always blocks an exponential in one way or another. When negative feedback is allowed to function, attempted exponentials flatten into tanh or sin. Negative feedback acts FAST, so you rarely get to see the exp part of the rise in a healthy system with healthy boundaries and modularity.

Non-barking Robinson
Got an email from Art Robinson, who is running again for Oregon state legislature. He comes down hard on the "global warming" fraud, but oddly doesn't even mention the "Branded Flu" fraud.
His campaign website also skips the issue entirely.
Strange, considering that Art is THE best living authority on human immunity, and a courageous skeptic on every subject where Deepstate is destroying real science. Is his own immunity to nonsense weakening with age, or is he just trying to be strategic? If the latter, it's poor strategy, like ML King running for office on an agenda of highway improvement.
Later, more emails and a paper mail from the campaign, but still no mention of the ONE ISSUE that Art Robinson knows BETTER than anyone else, the issue that Robinson
helped me to understand clearly and correctly. I don't know what to make of this.
Reprint from 2011
Following on the
comparison with Sweden, here's an
earlier article on the subject of transparency and trust, written during the Fukushima panic. I was talking then about nuclear public health, not viral public health, but the governmental craziness is the same in both areas.
= = = = = START REPRINT:
Various "experts" on radiation exposure are throwing around all sorts of different measurements. Millisieverts, millirems, picocuries, Becquerels... All unfamiliar even to scientifically literate people, and obviously there's no agreement on which unit is best.
When you're dealing with such unfamiliar measurements, made by instruments that most people have never seen or used, there's all sorts of room for panic and fraud.
Again, back in the days of fallout shelters these measurements were more
concrete and familiar. Example: Around 1962, Manhattan HS sent students through K-State's experimental reactor. We got a closeup look at the core and the pool containing spent fuel rods. Before entering the reactor room, each of us got a little disposable dosimeter that clipped on your shirt. It was a little card made of something like photo film that would change color when exposed to radiation. We were required to look at the dosimeter before and after, and compare with a dosimeter that had been given a significant dose. We got a solid
feel for the idea of exposure over time,
without any numbers at all.
The Geiger counter had a similar concrete sensory output in the form of clicks. You could hear each high-energy particle hitting the detector tube. No numbers needed.
Dosimeters and Geiger counters were common in schools and public facilities, and many people knew how to use them.
Now, as far as I can tell from Googling, you can't buy those disposable dosimeters anywhere. Couldn't have an informed and confident public, could we? Nope, have to leave the abstract numbers in the "capable" hands of the "experts" who are always correct ... if too high by a factor of 10,000 is defined as "correct".
It's the Carbon Cult all over again. Never let the peasants read the graphs, never let the peasants make their own measurements. Keep the books under lock and key, only available to the High Priests.
Another point of intersection: The great Art Robinson has been trying to restore the truth about
both subjects for many decades. His efforts are finally bearing some fruit on the Carbon Cult. It's probably too late for a restoration of Civil Defense. By the time a significant number of Americans come anywhere near the French level of common sense, we won't have any resources or money left to do anything at all. We'll be just another primitive third-world colony sending coal to China and burning our own shit for fuel. Oh pardon me, Carbon-Neutral Biofuel.
= = = = = END REPRINT.
And I should add that Robinson ALSO tried to restore sanity on viral immunity.

Pretty good day for energy
The
two candidates I concretely supported lost, but that's OK. I knew both were quixotic causes. I'm
hoping both will try again; Art Robinson has already emailed that he will try again next time.
If Robinson had run two years earlier, he would have been the
only pro-science candidate and his loss would have mattered more. But this year
plenty of candidates campaigned with a clear anti-Warmist message, and many of them won!
Best of all, I think, will be Manchin of West Virginia. You can't get any firmer than
shooting a hole in cap-n-trade. Manchin could be a good President.
Overall, Congress doesn't matter much. Even if we could replace 100% of the members with reformists, they'd immediately be blackmailed into submission by the enemy-serving staff and Satanist media. Like decanting new wine into bottles filled with dead rats and plutonium.
This unfortunate land will not be reborn until most of the states secede, and then only if those states contain most of the military bases and missile sites. Under those conditions, the rump nation based in DC may cut the seceders loose without destroying the world.
= = = = =
One unrelated observation: This election shows that the West is now the most corrupt part of the country. Previously you could generalize that corruption ruled east of the Mississippi. Now the East is more open to reform, while the gangsters are unstoppable in places like Alaska, California and Nevada.
It's all about casinos. Bets and debts, as Polistra
foresaw in 2006.
Couple of random notes
A few random notes as the "election" approaches.
1. Governor candidate Culp has NOT collapsed or converged. He has held rock-solid on the two issues that matter: Lockdowns and riots. The state Repooflicans are standing back in effete poofter revulsion, nominally supporting him but not mentioning him in their fund-raising spam. They're still focusing on the only real issue in their "minds", which is Inslee's raising of the car license fee from $30 to $60. They enjoy wearing suicide ballgags and bankrupting small businesses and supporting riots. Nasty vile filthy evil slimy slithery servants of Bezos.
Culp can't and won't "win", but he's the only politician who had the guts to be an OPponent instead of a PLUponent, and the only politician in recent years who didn't collapse before an "election".
2. Art Robinson, who should have been a prime influencer in the ANTI-holocaust movement, collapsed immediately and never returned to courage. Robinson was a leader against the "global warming" genocide for the last 30 years, and was also a serious independent scientist who understood IMMUNITY better than anyone in the world. He's running for state office in Oregon, and his fundraising spam hasn't TOUCHED the only important issue, which he should have OWNED. He just rambles about mythical abstractions like "constitutions" and "republics" and "socialism".
Thinking more broadly, it's clear that the torch of real science has been extinguished in the Deepstate parts of the world (US/UK/EU) for MANY years. The "virus" holocaust is just the final solution, the last absolute perfect strangulation of the few remaining tiny sparks of knowledge. Africa, which has
always been the leader in morality and integrity, is now becoming the leader in real science.
Young Tanzanians have picked up the torch of real science and real sanity.
3. For about two months the screeching Big Brother Loves You messages on public address systems were largely absent. Last week they resumed in full force, presumably ordered or freshly enforced by Thrill Killer Mad Bomber Holocauster Inslee. It's not clear what he's trying to accomplish; maybe he's hoping for a riot that will cancel the counting of the "ballots". With mail "voting" he can't simply cancel the "election" itself, because nearly everyone has already "voted". (Another advantage of mail "voting", which would be important if "elections" themselves mattered.)
Later in the day: Holocauster Lutz, the local Public Death Officer, was
suddenly fired. We'll never learn the reason. I wonder if the messaging change was related. The board presumably felt Lutz was slacking in his responsibility to accelerate the slaughter beyond max, and decided to crank up the crackdown and lockdown before they could formally fire him.

Not the best imagery
Polistra has been
pushing the Hyperion modular reactor system (the Silver Bullet) for a couple years.
In his latest Access to Energy newsletter, Art Robinson discusses
Nuscale Power, a competitor to Hyperion. Art knows the Nuscale people, and that's enough to make me look at their website.
Unfortunately the Nuscale folks make a bad impression from the start. They've chosen to use a Chinese Poison Pod as their main icon. The CFL is sitting on a surface, not plugged into a socket, and it's glowing!
As symbol, this has 4 separate problems:
(1) Worst of all, Poison Pods are dangerous. They
explode without warning, they leave ineradicable mercury when they break, and they
emit various carcinogens whenever they're on. If you're trying to say that your plant is safer than others, you shouldn't use an innately dangerous icon.
(2) Glowing without a socket raises thoughts of Evil Radiation illuminating the bulb directly. Oh no! We're
all lit up! (3) The main selling point for nuclear is
quantity of current. Nuke plants give lots of juice for very little material input, and do it steadily. The Poison Pod implies
scarcity of power by its very existence. (Not that it really saves any current, but that's the advertising.)
(4) The people who like Poison Pods don't like nukes and vice versa. My instant semi-conscious thought was: "Hey! Which side are you on? Are you a Gaian mole?" And Gaians would probably think: "Hey! Who you trying to fool, you Bushitler Nazi Bigoiler?"
= = = = =
Aside from symbolism, the NuScale plant
appears less intrinsically safe than the Hyperion, because the core is not deep underground. There may be mitigating factors, but that's an obvious difference in the design.
Saagar's point
The Hill TV, while failing to get the basic facts about immunity, continues a useful focus on the rich vs poor aspect of the holocaust.
In a clip yesterday, Saagar made a strong historical point about the complete uniformity in DC. When governments commit major crimes,
we remember the one or two politicians who saw the crime and spoke up against it. We remember the Cassandras, and occasionally we even form a movement around them.
In this war there are no dissenters,
no outside. Nobody in DC took the opportunity to leave a legacy of truth, nobody even wanted to bet on gaining power after the failure became obvious.
The situation is slightly better among governors, where Kristi Noem of SD made a clear statement AND clear actions** to avoid the apocalypse. A few others made the same courageous actions without the open rhetoric.
Anyone who still believed in "accountability" and "checks and balances" after 2008 is a fool, and anyone who still believes now is an incurable fool.
I didn't expect anything from the Repooflicans or Democrats or Trump, so I wasn't disappointed by any of those monsters. I did expect better from Putin, and more personally from
Art Robinson. I was strongly disappointed by those specific failures.
[Footnote: One of Art's regular monthly newsletters, dated December, came in the mail today, and he did discuss the issue there; but even there he's missing the political point. He trusts Trump to "let federalism work". Sorry, that won't do when some governors are intentionally slaughtering their own people, in total violation of morality, "law", and above all SCIENCE.]
= = = = =
** For clarity: Noem and Sweden and Belarus didn't
take action. They
chose inaction. They chose to CONTINUE
DOING WHAT WORKS.
Our nervous system notices departures from ambient. When the ambient is a mad rush toward the precipice, we notice the few animals who are standing still, or even running somewhat slower than the mass. But careful
analysis needs to break away from this natural salience and measure the movement and speed wrt an absolute reference frame. From that Newtonian perspective, inaction would have seemed to be the ONLY path for everyone. We had a fully functioning public health machine, ready for epidemic surges. It was ALREADY HANDLING the surges of this epidemic, as it had been doing for a century. We DIDN'T NEED TO CHANGE ANYTHING. But we did change everything. We halted the public health machine in its tracks and started up a war machine, creating a state of siege to starve our own country.

Art gets some out-of-this-world endorsements
Art Robinson, the only honest man running for Congress this year and the only real scientist who
ever ran for office, has been publicly endorsed by two famous astronauts.
Scott Carpenter and
Harrison Schmitt.
Who killed industry? Phil Gramm.
Art Robinson, after losing his Congressional bid, has returned to publishing his fine newsletter
Access to Energy. In the latest issue [not online, subscription only] he featured a chart that astonished me.
I wanted to verify and analyze the info in more detail, so I consulted the
Bureau of Labor Statistics website. BLS has all the labor data you'd ever want, available in attractive graphs and Excel form. It's not well organized, but I finally located the graph that Art had used.
Here's the graph, with some "added value" in the form of snazzy color strips representing presidential terms.

The Rise and Fall of America
This is the total number of Americans employed in real manufacturing, i.e.
making things, from 1939 to 2010. [Would have preferred to run a full century, but BLS data starts at '39.]
The left half runs pretty much as I'd expect. Factoring out the initial hump from WW2 total mobilization, manufacturing gradually increased from FDR through Carter. Comrade Jimmy began the process of deregulation that handed our economy to the financial sector. Since then, every president has continued to steal jobs from ordinary black and white Americans to enrich Goldman Sachs.
The astonishing part is the last decade, the total smashup typically described (with a correct sound if not a correct meaning) as the "Bush Boom."

You might expect September The Eleventh Two Thousand And One to be the edge of the cliff, but it isn't. Looking closely at the data in
spreadsheet form, it appears that the death spiral began in late 1999.
Well, what's late 1999? Not a war or a presidential transition, but the Triumph of Phil Gramm, the Repeal of Glass-Steagall. Phil abolished the law that had prevented the Wall Street Mafia from stealing the entire country. After that, the Mafia roared into murderous action and stole the entire country.
Now focus on the 2008 drop, which finally knocked our productive sector back down to its 1946 size in absolute numbers. (Per capita, it's about half of 1946.) The crash of 2008 allegedly removed trillions from the financial sector. If we had an actual free market, you'd expect investment to flow back into manufacturing after such a complete loss of trust in banking. Nope,
manufacturing dropped again at that point, indicating that we no longer have anything resembling a free market. The people with money, the People Who Count, are now betting even more strongly on the Mafia
because they make all the rules. They design the laws of governments and they design the laws of economics to suit themselves. See
Medaille's Plutonomics for more details.
Another observation: the BushObama death spiral for manufacturing happened during the LOWEST TAX RATES in this whole 70-year span. Repooflicans continue to recommend even lower taxes as the "cure" for our economic woes. This graph tells you who they're curing. For a Repooflican, "Economic Disease" means that a few scant dollars are still wasted on those nasty old blue-collar Americans performing useful labor. We must do everything possible to cure this horrible disease! We must achieve "Economic Health", where ALL money goes to Mexico and China (with a nice hefty vig to Goldman Sachs for the transaction)!!!!!
Life beyond Manweller
I was sinking into
Manwellerian despair. No chance of "accountability",
no alternate countries, no alternate views. When even Art Robinson, the master of immunity,
won't touch the subject, there's no point in looking for solutions.
Recalibrate: A quick review of
history AND current situation shows that it's not quite so simple. We never get a real choice of
agenda but we do get different
personalities.
Thinking again of current Mayor Woodward's
heroic patience, which has made a real difference. Previous mayor Copkiller Condon would have enthusiastically amplified the lockdown instead of gradually weakening it. He showed his Sorosian shark teeth at every opportunity. He enjoyed killing Deplorables.
Mayors are nominally non-partisan, but both Woodward and Condon made R noises in campaigning, and both were mainly supported by real estate developers. If you were only looking at funding and party rhetoric you wouldn't see a difference.
Even at the governor level, the dividing line between sane and insane is only partly along R vs D. It's a sliding bell curve, not a bimodal distribution. Two of the craziest governors are D, and the only sane governor is R, but in the middle part of the curve many Rs are closer to the crazy end. People are different. Innate personality matters FAR more than verbiage.

Wow! AP is SERIOUSLY PISSED.
For the first time in human history, an
Associated Press writer doubts the Eternal Truth Of Gaia[pbuh], and even dares to criticize Our Lord And God And Guardian Angel Barack Obama[pbuh].
The Obama administration has never fined or prosecuted a wind farm for killing eagles and other protected bird species, shielding the industry from liability and helping keep the scope of the deaths secret, an Associated Press investigation has found.
More than 573,000 birds are killed by the country’s wind farms each year, including 83,000 hunting birds such as hawks, falcons and eagles, according to an estimate published in March in the peer-reviewed Wildlife Society Bulletin.
Each death is federal crime, a charge that the Obama administration has used to prosecute oil companies when birds drown in their waste pits and power companies when birds are electrocuted by their power lines. No wind energy company has been prosecuted, even those that repeatedly flout the law.
Of course these facts have been known and discussed for many years among lovers of facts, but they've never been touched by the national media before. When AP starts treating Obama with the same contempt they formerly reserved for Repooflicans, you know the romance is over! When AP sounds like James Delingpole or Art Robinson ... or me! ... , you know the world has turned upside down. And all because of a few phone-hacks.

Tired of fadeouts
So far, every single one of the 'data-gatherers' has faded into false flags or orthodoxy. Jeffrey Tucker is the latest. He started out strong, focusing on the direct line from Bush Junior to Trump, and accurately showing Trump as an eager participant. Now he has
fallen back into standard Repooflican territory, treating Trump as an innocent victim.
The first fade was
Art Robinson, who had been a strong and steady independent voice in the "global warming" hoax. He was also the world's best authority on IMMUNITY. He decided to run for the Oregon legislature, and self-silenced on the whole topic, sticking to standard Repooflican ZERO TAX shit. He won the office, and has been silently participating in the craziest state of all. His presence doesn't make any difference. A pint of wine in a barrel of shit is still shit.
The German movement went beyond fading,
switching sides openly by following RFK.
= = = = =
If you're through fighting and want to move on to other subjects or just plain life, that's FINE. Tell us you're done,
let others pick up the torch, don't degrade the story. Quit cleanly.
But these gatherers are either turning silent
without explanation, or actively degrading and pulling the story into fake territory. Not forgivable.

Null prophets
Found an interesting snippet from a speech by George Romney in 1959, showing that his prophetic vision was larger than just the auto industry:
As a country we may be in for some tough sledding, based on my survey of the domestic situation. We have to recognize that since World War II, the enemy has been licking the pants off us.
Started thinking. Prophets can make profits in business, but prophets are NOT WANTED in politics. When he got into politics, he correctly predicted that the Vietnam war was not worth fighting. That was a 'gaffe', and eliminated him from the race.
Started thinking again. No, it's not that prophets are unwanted; it's more specific.
Here's the real distinction:
We
understand prophets who warn us of things that
will happen, telling us to take big steps to prepare. We may or may not listen and act quickly enough, but we tend to respect them afterward.
We
can't understand prophets who warn us that
nothing special is happening, and
nothing special needs to be done. When everyone is stocking up on food against the 2K Millenium Bug, we can't listen to a prophet who says it's no big deal. When everyone is getting scanned and scoped and tested for all sorts of cancer every hour on the hour, we can't listen to a medical authority who says the testing and scanning is worse than the cancer. When everyone is panicking about Bird Flu, we can't listen to plain logic that tells us Bird Flu won't happen.
We have to DO SOMETHING even if the
DOING is deadly. We can't hear common sense when it tells us to look at history, observe facts, trust Nature, trust our own bodies, ignore bullies, let fools be fools.
It's directly parallel to the problem in science. We
respect a result that seems to show something new, or disprove the null hypothesis. We pay for those results and give tenure to people who work toward those results. But we
completely ignore a result that shows nothing unusual is happening, or proves the null hypothesis.
In science as in life, those null results are usually more important than the 'positive' results. The brake pedal matters more than the gas pedal.
Knowing that the Carbon Cult is leading us to disaster is
crucially important, but we didn't listen to Art Robinson and Willie Soon when they tried to tell us that Weather isn't worth doing anything special. We only listened to the Cool Crowd who said we NEEDED TO ACT URGENTLY AND TOTALLY!
Knowing that the Neocon Cult is leading us to disaster is
crucially important, but we didn't listen to George Romney when he tried to tell us that Vietnam wasn't worth doing anything special. Later we didn't listen to Pat Buchanan when he tried to tell us the same thing about Iraq and Afghanistan. We only listened to the Cool Crowd who said we NEEDED TO ACT URGENTLY AND TOTALLY!
= = = = =
Footnote for clarity: I'm emphatically not trying to praise George's son by extension. I've frequently
noted the son's total reversal of George's talents. Mitt is just another part of the Cool Crowd, incapable of thinking for himself.

Year end shit. What did I learn?
Guess I should continue the habit of doing a
year-end dump. Not worth it this time. 2020 needs to be thrown away and skipped, like the 13th floor. 2021 will be the same or worse.
I'll just ask: What did I learn this year?
I didn't learn anything new about the demons. 1969 and 2008 and the "global warming" coup already taught me forcefully that everyone in a position of power is a monstrous psychopath who fully intends to kill all humans.
I was still quantitatively surprised by the
perfect synchronization of the holocaust. At first I assumed or hoped that bureaucratic inertia and backbiting would slow it down. Nope. All bureaucrats in all countries except Tanzania acted in strict and perfect unison.
The biggest negative surprise was semi-personal. Art Robinson, who had been a leading voice of truth in the "global warming" coup, and whose entire career was based on finding and telling the truth about IMMUNITY and hormesis, was pointedly silent. He was running for the Oregon state legislature, where he won't be able to do anything meaningful, and apparently decided that he could "win" by taking the usual chickenshit Repooflican line. Zero tax, empty words about "liberty" and "constitutions". He lost the chance to be a moral leader by choosing to join the cowardly mob. He did "win", and now he can join the mob.
The biggest positive surprise, the best learning, was purely personal. In dealing with the sudden need for courseware, and the debugging and instruction that ensued, I found that
I genuinely ENJOY serving customers.
I had already figured out in a general abstract sense that the "tech revolution" was a fraud. IPOs and gigs are being pushed as a trick to cheat normal people of their regular wages. Natural Law tells us that most people are meant to be servants, not bosses. This abstraction doesn't tell us that service can be a joy. Now I know.

Why should they bother?
Headline from Pew survey:
Trust in medical scientists has grown in the US, but mainly among Democrats
Not surprising. "Medical" "scientists" are in charge of slaughtering the working class, which is the open and joyfully explicit goal of Democrats.
Even before the holocaust, the public voices of MDs have been strictly Woke, advocating abortion and variable gender, bashing Natural Law, and forcing us to answer self-incriminating questions in writing.
From 1933 to 1968, Democrats were the party that supported working people. Under FDR the support was genuine, then it gradually faded into mere verbiage. Now neither party supports the working class. Both support infinite riches for NYC and total genocide for everyone else. For some reason Trump has managed to bamboozle more of the working class into stepping in front of his bulldozer instead of Biden's bulldozer.
You'd think some clever politician would see an opportunity in this mess, but obviously not. No politician has opposed the holocaust. Not even Art Robinson.
Why should they bother when the system is working perfectly for them?

Different caste, different geography, different religion
I've been comparing the current holocaust to Prohibition, an obviously unbalanced comparison; not just in terms of magnitude, but also in geographical and caste and religious terms.
Prohibition was a
Midwestern Christian movement that gradually went national. The NYC media never liked it, so public rebellion was
encouraged from the start.
The current holocaust came from the top castes in NYC and Calif. The paid media have ALWAYS been in favor of murdering Deplorables. Same for 200 years, ever since the invention of the newspaper.
Looking at Prohibition through my usual
lens of tech publications:
From Radio News, Sept 1922:
Next October we shall see the first test of the "Radio Harangue." A truce to jazz and bedtime stories while the candidate for re-election on the anti-Prohibition platform in New Jersey before his invisible audience debates with the Honorable Volstead, who will demonstrate (radially) that bootleggers and homebrewers should be massacred by machine guns. Little doubt the ether enfolding our earth will work overtime next fall.
Nobody is running on the anti-Lockdown platform this year. Even
Art Robinson, who could have been leading the movement based on expertise and previous courage, stood back and said nothing.

From Popular Radio, Sept 1923:
A review of an early attempt to broadcast a theatrical play with sound effects.
At the proper moment, with the accompanying dialogue, the gentleman-butler began to shake it. In the studio where we sat around the transmitter, the noise of the coins in the shaker, deadened by the hand of the actor, gave a very good illusion of the gladsome sound of a cocktail coming into the world. But in the broadcasting room up on the roof, where an expert was regulating the waves (or whatever it is such experts do), this sudden and unexpected sound caused great consternation. "My God! Static !" he muttered and excitedly began pulling out stops like organ stops, adjusting multipliers and variable condensers, or whatever it is they adjust when "static" is heard. It was not until after the play was finished that the expert discovered that he had been endeavoring, like Mr. Volstead, to suppress cocktails. Fortunately, as in the case of Mr. Volstead, his efforts were not successful. So the joke was on him; again like Mr. Volstead.

From Popular Radio, June 1924:
In a radio voting contest held recently by Station WJAZ, Chicago, on the subject of national prohibition, over 47,000 votes were cast by telegraph at the voters' expense, the telegraph bill otalling over $30,000. The result was more than two to one in favor of modification
of the Volstead Act.
Sounds like a GoFundMe result, except that a GoFundMe run by a radio station would be on the opposite side now.

Reset you, don't reset me
Newt has
absolutely lost it. He still sounds smart, but he's no longer capable of checking his own logic.
Gingrich said that he would like for the entire health system to be reconsidered. He emphasized that scientific breakthroughs and technological advances held promise to bring down costs. “If you think about post-Obamacare solutions, what’s clear from the Ryan budget, which I think is a historic and courageous effort to at least get to the right scale of thinking, is that you cannot solve the cost of healthcare for an aging population within the current paradigm,” Gingrich said.
“I want to be quite clear: this is a deliberate, fundamental argument against the entire current delivery system – whether it’s the right-wing version of the current delivery system or the left-wing,” the former Speaker continued.
Gingrich singled out Alzheimer’s disease throughout his speech as an example of where medical breakthroughs could dramatically reduce future federal spending. If the onset of the disease could be postponed for five years, which Gingrich asserted was possible within a short period of time, then older Americans would either be less likely to develop it, or would not have it for very long, bringing down health costs.
Establishing a new brain science agency was one of Gingrich’s recommendations. Funds could be raised through the issuance of “Alzheimer’s bonds.”
Brand new thinking = Create an agency.
Brand new thinking = Create an agency.
Brand new thinking = Create an agency.
Does the dissonance strike you? It obviously doesn't strike Newt. I'm afraid he's already bought an Alzheimer's bond.
Dammit, dammit, dammit! We need LESS federal funding for science, not MORE. Federal funding is THE PROBLEM, repeat
THE FUCKING PROBLEM, with science in this country. Federal grants guarantee adherence to bizarre anti-science religious orthodoxies like "Global Warming" or "the Big Bang" or "Biodiversity".
The way to 'reset' thinking in science is to work independently, or to work within academia for convenience while relying mainly on outside contributions.
Art Robinson is a prime example of pure independence, and the
Canadian Cancer Cure is a perfect example of the mixed approach. [Later:
here's another great example of the mixed.]
If Newt really wanted to speed up Alzheimers research, he'd find ways to open up more independently funded small-scale research, find ways to get around peer review and FDA clinical trials.
The age of infinite bigness, the age of creating a new agency to work around the existing agencies, has
collapsed. It's
all gone, and good goddamn riddance.

Please, Newt, follow the
Sol Saks principle. You're a genuine intellectual. You've made a vast contribution to American politics with your 1996 welfare reform, which was the
only good thing done by Congress in my lifetime. Now you're quickly turning into a bad joke. Time to be
satisfied. Sit back and enjoy life, before the joke gets even worse.
