Things that [do] work
Since I'm in random mode this week, I'll extend the point I made yesterday (and often before).

Science is THINGS THAT WORK.

This is obviously true in terms of method. Real science is not theories and ideas and models. Real science is slow improvement of techniques and solutions after careful observation and experimentation.

It's also true in a strict sense in physics. Real physics is centered on WORK or ENERGY as the pivotal variable. Things that don't do WORK aren't involved in physics. All of the equations are balanced and pivoted on transfer of WORK or ENERGY from one place to another. Work is the equipoise.

Fake physics is solely about THINGS THAT CAN'T POSSIBLY WORK, like multiverses and string theories and Big Bangs.

And the proverb is also true of Natural Law, as defined in both Soviet and Sharia versions. Just as in physics, the equations of Natural Law pivot on WORK or USEFULNESS. The pivot point is specifically momentum, Mass times Velocity.

Mass is power and wealth. Velocity is actual usefulness, creating real value and life and beauty.

Psychopaths have tremendous mass without ever moving or creating. Humans have very little mass but do lots of moving and creating.

Natural Law tries to balance the equation between psychopaths and humans in a Newtonian way, letting the psychopaths have a limited license for power and wealth as long as they use it to support real movement and creation by humans.

Just for fun, let's apply this to today's news. Elon is opening up his factory to restart production, "violating" Holocauster Newsom's wildly illegal and incalculably genocidally evil holocaust. Elon is a psychopath, and I hate him. BUT: Elon is explicitly and specifically following Natural Law. He is using his wealth and power to help his employees resume creating value and beauty. I don't think modern cars are beautiful, but that's irrelevant. Many people do, and the cars are unquestionably Real Value whether you like them or not. Best of all, the paychecks to the workers will also resume.

So, running counter to all my biases and prejudices, BRAVO to Elon.

A bit later: His TBTF mass outweighed the Calif government, which surrendered and allowed him to start WORK. Natural Law at its best.

This could be a turning point if others follow Elon. For the last 40 years, TBTF mass has crushed real work and real workers. We turned from Fordism to Goldmanism. Now Elon has taken the first step back toward Fordism, where capital power serves to create REAL THINGS and REAL PAY for REAL WORKERS.
