Curtin hits all the marks
This grim essay by Edward Curtin covers the whole field with merciless clarity and historical background. Curtin offers no hope. He's probably right.
Nevertheless, we have to keep some slight faint beacon of civilization. History offers one realistic hope. Extreme tyrannies always grow decadent and tired, and often get decimated by internal battles. This happened quickly to France in 1793, and more slowly to Stalin. When one of the founding factions kills off the other founding faction, the pool of torture talent is immediately reduced. Then, new would-be torturers see what happened to the old ones, and decide not to sign up.
At this point the new "public" "health" tyranny is fresh, with all "public" "health" officials tuned up and weaponized and BATTLE-READY to obliterate civilization NOW. The competing narratives of race and "virus" aren't naturally synchronized, and already show a bit of internal friction.
