1933 VR?
American Radio Library has a nearly complete collection of Billboard. They're missing 1933, and I've been watching for March '33 to see if the
mysterious Scrip was mentioned. So far I haven't found a specific mention in any periodicals of that time, even though it was a major alteration in commerce. I've only found a couple of indications or 'inferences'.
The library is getting some '33 issues now but not yet in the Scrip period. The
Jan 7 issue has an ad for an interesting Table Game with a feature I haven't seen before.
A horse race game with actual horse models moving around a track. Presumably the motion was regulated by a semi-random set of motors and gears, always giving the house an advantage.
This sort of thing disappeared, then finally reappeared in 2d digital form with PacMan.
Later,
here's some pix of the real thing. It's more impressive than the drawing in Billboard!
