Better analogy
I constantly describe Sorosian politics as soap opera, a slow-moving plotless sequence of fake intrigues and fake battles that never lead to real action.
New thought: No, it's worse than that. Soap operas are in English, so you can at least understand the words in the screeching, even if you can't find any meaning in the sentences.
Better analogy: Chinese opera.
Especially appropriate because Chinese opera, like much of Italian opera, deals with the intrigues and treacheries of the gods. Modern TV soap opera AND modern political soap opera are replacements for the old Olympian opera.
