Kim arrives in Russia for a REAL conference.
Media are emphasizing the HISTORICAL FIRSTness of the meeting, but the HISTORICAL OLDness is more interesting.
(1) Kim is arriving in a NK train, not a private jet. The railroad connection between NK and Russia was never torn down, it was closed and maintained. Now it's reopened as part of the Silk Road preparations.
(2) Kim doffs his hat in a gesture that hasn't been seen in USA since the '50s. Guest meets host in real cultures.
(3) He's met by the usual dignitaries, and then encounters a group of Russian girls dressed in traditional costumes, who offer him traditional food. He takes a bite and smiles. The girls bow to him in Oriental style. Host meets guest in real cultures.
Needless to say, the real work of reunification has been running for years, among the four real-culture players. Very fake Donald is allowed to make his very loud and very meaningless noises, because real cultures understand how fakers work. Fakers don't understand real cultures, but that's very irrelevant.
