Different voltage
Interesting dream this morning about touring Japan with a married couple named Ed'n'Martha (always spelled that way.)
Ed and Martha are common names in my generation, but I didn't have any close friends with those names. Why Japan? Who knows?
The dream included one apt metaphor. As I checked into the motel room, I realized I'd forgotten to bring my suitcase along for the trip. What will I do for clothing? Soap? Toothbrush? Shaving?
Oh! I've brought
this windup Soviet shaver, so at least I can shave.
Leaving aside the nonlogic ... if I didn't bring
anything, why the shaver? ... the windup is a good metaphor.
Dreamstate has different voltages. You can't expect to plug in ordinary Waketime appliances in Dreamstate.
(For some reason the
activity of shaving appears fairly often in remembered dreams, while the other daily household and hygiene chores are completely absent.)
