Natural Law media
One crucial and revealing difference between the '30s Depression and the current Depression.
In the '30s, and continuing until the mid-50s, our media were closer to Natural Law. Starting with the Cohn Coup in 1954 and expanding exponentially ever since, our media have been reinforcing the Insatiables and killing the Deplorables.
What do I mean by Natural Law? Call it civilization. NL, as encoded in the Old Testament or Sharia or Soviet systems, begins with the FACT that
Specifically, only a few people are leaders. Most are followers. Civilization survives when the leaders use their ambition and gain their riches by providing useful work for the followers. Civilization survives when the followers have useful and appropriate work for their various types, and when the leaders pay and respect the followers.
These two complementary vectors are implicit in the Old Testament, explicit in Sharia and Soviet.
In earlier decades our radio and newspapers and movies started with the FACTS and treated Deplorables with EMPATHY and respect.
Modern media start with the insane assumption that everyone is identical and Insatiable. If you aren't making a billion dollars and having sex with a million admirers, you aren't trying hard enough.
Result: Tremendous amounts of wasted effort and total despair. Overdoses and bridges.
