The real puzzle here: Now that Trump has gone 100% Rand and 0% Populist, assholes like Jeb must be feeling especially frustrated. Jeb lost because Americans were tired of Repoofs solely serving Mexico and Israel and Goldman. Now Trump is serving Israel and Goldman. He hasn't yet sworn allegiance to Mexico, but I'm sure he'll get there.
In other words, the Repoof candidate is a man who has always been hated by the people he NOW agrees with, and WILL be hated by the people he DID agree with, as soon as they realize the bait-n-switch.
Worst of both worlds.
As always, my paranoia was insufficient. For the first few months I wondered if Trump was just a cats-paw to insure Hillary's victory. Then I allowed myself to be bamboozled. First thought was right. Ought to learn that, but won't.
Later: It's too bad we don't have a younger version of Pat Buchanan. Pat UNDERSTANDS the problems of culture and economics, deeply and morally and analytically, and ALSO knows how to undercut machiavellian monsters like the Clintons. Santorum has the first part in spades, but doesn't have the ruthless second part.
