Odd low-down windstorm
The measurements from the Weather Bureau (taken at a height of 30 feet) show something like 15G30, which normally doesn't cause any damage. And the
upper parts of pine trees agree with that range. The trees are doing the typical sedate 30 dance, not the wild 40 dance or the 50 crashdown.
But the wind sounds at ground level are MUCH stronger than the above-ground readings would imply. Lots of howling and rattling windows and doors, and bushes are thrashing more like 40.

reported a fallen tree; looks like a fairly low dense tree, which also agrees with the pattern.
