The really remarkable and genuinely new aspect of today's imperial elites is their absolute lack of empathy.
Just a little reminder there.
Previous tyrants had some sense of marketing, a purely cynical understanding of the masses. They persuaded the masses to walk into the slaughterhouse willingly and happily.
Today's tyrants either don't give a fuck or have NO IDEA AT ALL that their demonic spewing is turning the masses against them. It's equally apparent in #neverTrump and the anti-Brexit EU forces.
The tyrants keep warning us that HORRIBLE EVENTS will happen, and they describe the HORRIBLE EVENTS in gory detail. Trouble is, the HORRIBLE EVENTS sound WONDERFUL to the masses, because the EVENTS are only HORRIBLE for the elites.
It's way beyond old-fashioned Let Them Eat Cake. It's more like
DON'T VOTE FOR TRUMP/BREXIT! IF YOU CHOOSE TRUMP/BREXIT, I WON'T BE ABLE TO SLAUGHTER YOU! THIS IS A HORRIFYING TERRIFYING TROLL BUFFOON XENOPHOBE TRAGIC FATE! IF YOU CHOOSE TRUMP/BREXIT, I WILL NOT GET THE THRILL OF RIPPING YOUR USELESS LITTLE BODY TO SHREDS AND SUCKING YOUR BLOOD AND JACKING OFF! DON'T YOU SEE WHAT A HORRIFYING TRAGEDY THIS WILL BE?
