Bad try, won't work
The Oregon ranch protest is a really dumb idea. Big demonstrations and occupations work when you're fashionable. It's like sweetheart lawsuits. Fashionable protesters want the government to do even more evil. (eg Occupy opposing Krugmanism with MMT, or Black Lives Matter encouraging the Feds to kill more cops.) Great! Glad to oblige! Always ready to do MORE evil!
When you're genuinely heterodox, you're making everything worse by protesting. You're giving the regime a perfectly good reason to clamp down HARD on everyone remotely associated with your cause. More clamping justifies larger budget and workforce. Larger workforce enables more clamping. Loop.
It's less satisfying, but far better in the long run, to grind down the regime. Make it work harder and harder. Frustrate the bureaucrats. Find ways to make them feel ashamed instead of enraged. Hasten the inevitable collapse.
