Erdogan loses some power
His party no longer has a majority, so he'll have to form a coalition or call a new election soon.
Probably a good thing. Erdogan has been an EXEMPLARY leader for a long time. Best national leader in the world. He created a REAL-VALUE economy domestically and implemented ZERO PROBLEMS in foreign affairs. But he seems to have gone a little senile in the last year or so, doing some odd things that create problems instead of solving.
Turkey is lucky to have a parliamentary system that can quickly toss out or moderate a party that no longer serves well.
Wonder what that feels like? Competent leadership and adaptable government are extremely difficult concepts for an American to grasp. We had competent leadership
exactly once under FDR, but we've never had an adaptable or responsive government.
