Emerson advises us to be patient with "monopolies and exceptions". Sooner or later they grind themselves down with arrogance.
A couple of
slightly promising signs:
(1) Google's monopoly on searching has led to poor quality in one area, and Bing has finally taken advantage. On a basic broad search, Google still beats Bing by a
long margin. Bing simply can't understand what you're looking for. But on news aggregation, Bing wins. Google has filled most of its news space with those mysterious
"retranslators" that semi-duplicate other sources by mechanically translating one way then human-translating back to English. Many of these appear to be in Turkey. Bing's sources are all genuine, as far as I can tell.
(2) Sharpton's satanic media have been generating riots using low-quality events. Normal black people appear to be getting tired of the "unarmed" thugs who attacked cops and got the justice they deserved. Normal white people were tired from the start. Now Our Lord And Savior The Most Reverend Doctor Alphonse Sharpton Junior, Living Saint And Universal Prophet Of Peace, is burning down Baltimore to protest ... police brutality? Police shooting? No. This protest is apparently about police failure to buckle a suspect into his seat belt. I don't see any indication that the idiot media are getting tired. There is no limit to media evil. But it's obvious to everyone else that the pool of eligible events has dried up.
