Saving Satan's labor
A thought triggered by a BBC program on rather obscure folk music. Interviewer was asking a musicologist whether folk music was mainly left-wing or right-wing. Musicologist answered direct and straight: "100% left-wing." Nice to get a plain answer for once, instead of the usual idiotic shit about definitions and relativity and A Little Of Both.
Started thinking about other areas of endeavor. When a discipline or category is "100% left-wing", is it a conspiracy or is it just a question of effort?
In cases like banking and science and governmental action, raw bloody murderous conspiracy is obvious. Non-satans work just as hard as satans, but they have no chance of success. Satans are willing to use every possible tactic. Non-satans mistakenly believe in totally obsolete prehistoric notions like "logic" and "law".
In other cases the non-satans have no excuse. They're choosing to lose even before the conspiracy has a chance to roar into action. They're
saving Satan's labor.
Modern "Christian music" is simply awful. Modern "Christian movies" are crap. There's a huge audience hungry for good material, so money isn't the problem. The makers just don't bother.
Made In America manufacturing. I've tried for many years to patronize MIA stores and makers, but it just doesn't work. MIA companies aren't trying hard enough, aren't paying attention to details.
Alternate search engines? Take away Google's power? There are many choices, but none of them work. Google has figured out how to process word combinations to give you what you're likely to want. Bing has plenty of development money available, but hasn't used the money to good effect. I keep trying to use Bing because I appreciate Microsoft's public restraint (ie NOT HAMMERING SATAN INTO OUR FUCKING BRAINS 24 HOURS A DAY like every other fucking corporation does now), but the score is constant regardless of language and subject. Google "knows" how to categorize my intentions 90% of the time, Bing "knows" about 40% of the time.

Wandering thoughts ... How would you describe Google's magic ingredient in 1950 terms? Without assuming the Web or computers?
Answer:
Google is a corrupt librarian. Google figured out that you could make lots of money by steering questioners to sources who pay you for the steering.

Utterly stupid linguistic sidenote: Why don't we have capital numbers? Why don't we write
100% left-wing instead of 100% left-wing? Or in the context of trade names, why not Formula
409 or Century
21 Realtors or
20 Mule Team Borax? Some fonts have
full sets of UC and LC numbers available, which would make it easy. [Technically the LCs are called
scientific inferiors, but they're still LC numbers.]
