End-running the devildozer
Okla has found another way to end-run Satan's squeeze play on punishment. Satan has been squashing states into ... what he THOUGHT was ... an inescapable corner, by eliminating every known method of execution. Each acceptable "lethal injection" drug was declared to be unusable, and finally the pharmaceutical firms were persuaded by ETHICS (ie TOTAL GENOCIDE) to stop selling the only remaining barbiturate combination.
Utah slipped around the end of the Devildozer by restarting the firing squad.
Now Okla has pulled a brand new and perfectly effective method out of the hat.
Plain old Nitrogen.
BEAUTIFUL.
There's no way Satan can cut off the supply of nitrogen. 75% of air is nitrogen, and every welding supply and medical supply store carries pure N. If Nitrogen is "cruel and unusual", then breathing is "cruel and unusual". (Oops, I shouldn't give Satan ideas. He's already outlawed exhaling CO2, now he'll outlaw inhaling.)
Take that, Satan. You thought you had us in a vise. You thought you had achieved the FINAL SOLUTION to civilization. Nope. Civilization still has a few friends in a few places.
