Olfactory note
For several weeks there has been a nice smoky smell around this neighborhood. Might be from forest fires or fireplaces, might somehow be a result of the broken trees from the July windstorm. The latter seems unlikely, but the timing is right.
Yesterday a new smell arrived. I caught it yesterday on top of Shadle hill, and this morning it's down here. Might call it a kitchen-fire smell. Reminds me of a spilled drop of soup on an electric stove burner. Not strong but definite.
Later: I suspect this is internal. My nose and throat are starting to get mucusy. Might be a reaction to flu shot a few days ago, might be garden-variety respiratory infection from the stress of anticipating doctor visit.
