Using 'local' in the trademarked crunchy-con sense here .... Still, this is the best governmental action I've seen since the 1996 welfare reform. Spokane's city gov't has
passed a 'Market Garden' law loosening the rules for urban farming, and making it easier for urban farmers to run a business.
I don't have enough land** to get in on the selling end of this, but I'm hoping to do some buying. Anything that helps to break the iron grip of the banksters, anything that encourages people to MAKE THINGS, is eminently worth spending money on!
Reminds me of the originally planned
Market Squares in Manhattan, which never came to fruition.

**Not enough land: Huge understatement. My lot is among the smallest occupied parcels in the city; depending on how you measure street right-of-way, it might be THE smallest lot with a house on it.
