Missing his own brand
McCotter has entered the brand-R primaries, not acting highly serious about it. Worst of all, he's skipping his own best selling point.
The one BIG thing that distinguishes McCotter from the rest of the field is his strong and consistent advocacy for Main Street over Wall Street, for manufacturing over finance. All of his 'special order' speeches on the House floor have slammed this point over and over, densely packed with facts and hifalutin words.
NONE of the other serious candidates are on this side; ALL are firm patriots to Goldman and China and absolute fucking traitors to America.
So when McC decides to run, what are his main points? From his website:
—Our liberty is from God not the government.
—Our sovereignty is in our souls not the soil.
—Our security is from strength not surrender.
—Our prosperity is from the private sector not the public sector.
—Our truths are self-evident not relative.
Standard platitudinous content-free brand-R twaddle, on the same intellectual level as Sean Hannity.
Good lord, Thad, why bother? The Hannibots already have their candidates. They don't need another one.
The people who
do need another candidate are those who comprehend the absolute criminality of the Wall Street Mafia. You've shown repeatedly that you share this comprehension, but these points toss your own special passions aside.
The second meaningless platitude (souls, not soil) is especially egregious for a man who has spent most of his career defending the sovereignty of LOCAL industries, which depend on the physical and cultural soil.
