Tired of this old trick
I'm fully tired of political talkers who still blame "voters" for failing to "elect" the right people. The big talkers on "both" "sides" constantly advise us to "vote" for candidate A or candidate B to bring about change. Most people figured out a long time ago that candidate A and candidate B are identical.
It's a lot like the problems with academia or journalism. You can't expect unorthodox opinions from anyone who gets into the circle of power. Unorthodox people simply don't get jobs. Change is selected out at the input gate.
There's an important difference between these occupations. Nobody tells us that we can affect academia or journalism by "voting". We know that they're beyond our control.
Here's a blamer who really should know better:

Alas, there's no good choice. And, guess what? It's not the candidates' fault. It's our fault. We don't read. We don't question. We don't think. We consume & cheer for our heroes & excoriate those who oppose our heroes & post on Facebook.He sees the fakeness of R and D clearly, and still thinks we can do something about it by "voting". Later thought: Fossi is inside the circle of power. Maybe he's talking to other insiders? Maybe his we is nos instead of nosotros? If so, he's not clarifying the distinction. Fossi is an excruciatingly precise writer and speaker. Every word and tone is exactly calibrated. An ambiguity is precisely intentional to serve a precise purpose.
