Worth noticing
I'm completely ignorant and dumb about military strategy, so I don't bother thinking or talking about it. Nevertheless, when I bump into a strategic fact that isn't normally mentioned, I can see the logic.

Not just Europe, but several of the central Asian Stans. All of them are within easy range of Russian tactical missiles. If we started bombing from any of those locations, Russia could instantly take out all of our forward bases.
