New trick from the dream scripter
Occasionally my dream scripter will pick up the incoming audio from the OTR episode currently playing, and transpose the scene into an entirely new place. This time the scripter added another type of transposition.
The episode deals with an escaped fugitive who carjacked a local cop, traded clothes and wallets, and handcuffed the cop. The FBI dudes have found the cop and criminal in an abandoned house, where the FBI dudes are trying to untangle who's who.
When listening in waketime, I have a standard mental setting for the abandoned house and standard images of the characters. Tonight the dream scripter transposed the scene into a greasy-spoon truck stop cafe. The deputy and criminal were sitting opposite each other in a Formica booth. New element: The criminal was a deer, complete with antlers.
This didn't seem unusual or salient.
Where did the deer come from? I might have seen this headline at RealClearScience during the 1.5 seconds RCS gives you before slapping the paywall notice across the screen.
Subliminal reading can slip into dream mode without hitting consciousness.
