Inventive dream
Tonight's dream featured an interesting but pointless invention.
I was in a restaurant waiting to have my thermos filled with ice tea. This part was not original. One of the old radio episodes in my bedtime playlist has a scene about filling a thermos with ice tea.
As usual, the dream scripter lifted the words into an entirely new location, not the same location I normally "see" when listening in waketime.
As I waited, I looked at the pinned-up notices on a bulletin board in the lobby. Among the 'Services Offered' section of the bulletin board this one caught my attention:
Braille books
Night books
Braille ledgers
Squarebox ledgers
My thoughts (inside the dream) while reading this notice:
Braille books: He's offering to transcribe books into braille.
Night books: Braille books for non-blind people to read in the dark.
Braille ledgers: Transcribing ledgers for blind bookkeepers.
Squarebox ledgers: I didn't know for sure what this meant. Perhaps it was braille ledgers organized with bigger sections for easier reading.
= = = = =
Night books would be a worthy invention IF you could learn Braille easily. Unfortunately it's not easy, so wouldn't be worth the trouble. The ledgers are a purely stupid idea.
At any rate, here's Polistra and Happystar enjoying their night books:
[I never do April Fool stuff, but in this case the dream scripter handed it to me on a platter, so I had to use it.]Labels: Entertainment
